Show Notes

Gravewing certainly has some interesting friends, or are they possibly more than that? They sit down and discuss next steps. The group needs fake papers to move through the city, but there is a catch from that. The Mother needs something from them as well.

[00:00:43] Speaker A: Wake me now from this sleep I've been dreaming Docks along I cannot find meaning hold my hand let me stay by your side oh there's never ending night I can feel it now it holds me all the demons in this red light because. [00:01:25] Speaker B: My love hello everybody, and welcome back to Tyrant of the Dark Star, Aubrey, your gm. I will introduce my players, who they are, who they're playing, and then we'll get on rolling into things. [00:01:39] Speaker C: Hi, I'm Maki. My friends are she her and I play Gravewing, the Nagaji sylph vigilante monk slash air kineticist who also uses she her pronouns, and she is the party mom slash strategist of the rebellion. [00:01:56] Speaker D: Hello, Hello, I'm Alyssa. My pronouns are they, them and I play Laitha Drisi iv, the matricidal dampier, dandy, rogue and spy mast, who uses she any pronouns. [00:02:09] Speaker E: Hello, I am Dusty. I use they he pronouns and I am playing Eurodo. Just Eurodo. Still, they are our nephilim cursed boy of a problem. They are going to be the party and his rebellion's firebrand, and they also use they he pronouns. [00:02:29] Speaker A: Hello, I am Ferris. I use she her pronouns, and I am playing Alouette Velaire, a totally normal nephilim thaumaturge bard having a very normal and good time learning all about her way more cursed families. She also uses she her pronouns and is the anathema partisan. [00:02:46] Speaker F: Hello, I am Sparlock, and both me and my character use he him pronouns. I'm going by Alistair Whiskerfield, wizard detective extraordinaire. As heir to the fine, distinguished family of wizard mice Ratzards, I swear I was always aware of it. I keep my whiskers to the ground to uncover the truth of the powers that be who subjugate us. By which I mean I'm our recruiter. [00:03:18] Speaker G: And hello to round off the group. I am Tic, I have he, she, they, pronouns. And today I'll be playing Niall, a flesh warp sorcerer who is just a totally ordinary cook and quartermaster for the group and definitely not a cannibal. Parentheses, He's a cannibal, but it's a dietary restriction, so don't be too mean to him. [00:03:38] Speaker B: Well, before we get to our recap and what's going to happen next, it's time for another question. This week's question is what was the last dream or nightmare your character remembers not discounting the group weird nightmare vision that you all had the other night? [00:04:04] Speaker G: I guess I'll go first. I thought Dusty opened like their mouth. I'm Like, I'm sorry, I guess I'll go first. I think Nile's last dream slash nightmare was one of those ones where you wake up late and you get into work and then everything is like, the ingredients aren't there to make your food, and there's like a rush and everything. And your boss is like, everything's going wrong. [00:04:23] Speaker B: Oh my God. [00:04:23] Speaker G: Everything's terrible. And you're trying to, like, cook with nothing and work on it, but then everything just keeps going wrong. And then you wake up and you, like, run out of bed and you're like, oh, my God, oh my God, oh my God. Then you realize it's a weekend and you don't actually have to go to work that week. Like just a dream where everything in the kitchen is going wrong at once. Like one of those stress dreams of work. I think that's probably like the last nightmare and probably happened in jail. So he just sits up in jail, like, oh, my God, I have to get to the. Oh, right. [00:04:53] Speaker B: All right, I've been jail. I can't go to work. [00:04:56] Speaker G: And may I summon the next individual required to answer this question? [00:05:00] Speaker B: Sure. [00:05:01] Speaker G: Alyssa. [00:05:04] Speaker D: Dream. Leith doesn't dream. Aki. [00:05:14] Speaker C: Expand. [00:05:15] Speaker E: Expand, motherfucker, expand. [00:05:18] Speaker D: She goes sleep. She wake up. She do not remember what happened at night. [00:05:24] Speaker E: Almost like construct. [00:05:31] Speaker D: Who says constructs don't dream? Dustin, that's rude. Andreas is probably. [00:05:37] Speaker C: Do androids dream of. [00:05:39] Speaker E: Dream of electric sheep? [00:05:41] Speaker C: Yeah, yeah, okay. I got summoned to quote a song lyric. I see a man who is haunting a man with a trail of bodies, and I'll. I'll pass it to the dusty next. [00:06:01] Speaker G: You had me at man. [00:06:05] Speaker E: Toxic, so I assume for different reasons. Yuri also doesn't dream, at least as of recent. It's because the last dream they had was very bad, and it was about a reoccurring nightmare. Shut up, Alyssa. I'm talking to the chat. No one's gonna know what they said. A recurring nightmare of anger and despair and someone they care about being hurt, and then they just learn to not dream. Totally healthy and totally normal. Ferris. [00:06:56] Speaker A: Have you considered this the wrong way of using lucid dreaming? [00:07:00] Speaker E: I do not understand mental health. What is that? Yuri does not understand? [00:07:08] Speaker A: Yuri has great mental health, I can tell. You know who also has great mental health? Eloette, who has totally normal dreams. And her last nightmare was really recent, probably somewhere either before or after the terrible. Oof. The terrible. Sorry, cat. The terrible vision. And it was a monstrous Yuri, both hunting and being hunted, screaming like the raven mother. And then in the dream she is like, is being Yuri, is hunting Yuri at the same time. It's one of those, like, the point of view is really weird. And then at one point, Yuri the Lou looks in the mirror and it was the monster was always Lou. Weird, normal, normal things to dream about. [00:08:10] Speaker F: Yes, yes. [00:08:11] Speaker B: The last one, Alice. [00:08:15] Speaker F: Alistair's last dream, not counting the weird moon dream, was he and the entire party were being presented with like, the equivalent of the keys to the city. And they invite him up to give a speech as the greatest wizard detective that the world has ever known. And as he's walking up to give the speech, he looks down and realizes he's not wearing any pants and looks around in fear and looks over and Lord Scriabin is looking at him, pointing, saying, you'll never defeat us. And then like, transforms into a ghoul in front of him and he woke up with a squeal. [00:09:22] Speaker B: Really got. [00:09:23] Speaker C: You wear pants? [00:09:27] Speaker A: What do you mean, you wearing pants? [00:09:29] Speaker E: Normally, of course they wear pants. They're not an animal. [00:09:34] Speaker D: I thought it was like Winnie the Pooh logic. [00:09:36] Speaker C: I literally popped that coochie out in the fucking official heart. [00:09:41] Speaker A: I've never drawn Alastair with pants the whole time. [00:09:45] Speaker E: They're magic pants. You just can't see them. [00:09:48] Speaker A: They're the Emperor's new pants. [00:09:50] Speaker F: He never wears pants. Only in dreams. [00:09:53] Speaker A: Only in dreams. [00:09:54] Speaker B: He dreams of pants. [00:09:57] Speaker F: Like he doesn't think about except when. [00:09:59] Speaker A: He'S dreaming, but he's like, oh, no, no pants. And he wakes up and it's like, oh, but it's fine. That part's fine. [00:10:11] Speaker B: Well, now I ask the question of what happened last time. [00:10:16] Speaker G: So after the last. Last session was incredibly git. We had to refresh on that. So we found our way into the city. We sent off our little task managers to do their tasks and please ignore my thing just twitching like a fucking madman. We went into the city, Moth mom did something very gay and whispered on the wind for her, for her friend, in quotation marks, air quotes, you know, I'm just saying, if Mothball doesn't get this session, I can be very, very disappointed. But she called for the bloodied Blade to help her. And eventually we made our way into a secret hideout with a woman who just is the embodiment of having anxiety. And I think she needs therapy quite a bit more so than most of us here. We headed in. We got to talk to her a bit. She owns a gun shop. And Yuri just kind of locked in like, I do like guns. I enjoy those on occasion. But we, we Talked. We kind of planned. And the Bloody Blade entered the door at the end of the last session, waiting to kiss Moth mom on her delicate, supple lips. That is where we start. [00:11:23] Speaker C: You writing your own fan fiction over there, too? [00:11:25] Speaker B: Yeah, you really are. [00:11:26] Speaker G: And I'll do it again. [00:11:29] Speaker B: Yes. As we ended things, the leader of the Bloody Blades, quite often known as the Mother, stands in the doorway wearing her classic harlequin mask and looks between all of you and says, I got your message. [00:11:58] Speaker C: My mom, who's probably been just fixing things up around. It's been two weeks. It might be a little dusty in here. So I think. Yeah, I think. I think, you know, I've just been airing out the place a little bit, dusting it a little bit. Definitely trying to look like, oh, we went on vacation. And so now we're just, like, maintaining this place. Because I am 100% going to make Juniper front the shop for a bit, because shit's wild. And the last thing we need to think. We need people to think is that this place is now vacant. Please. No. It's so much money, so much savings went into this place. So there's. There's that. And I guess Gray's gonna put down, like, maybe the last set of boxes or something like that she was moving around. And she'll look at Lorelai and above table. What was her title again? Like, her alias that most people know her as. Because I know I have. I have first name basis, privilege, but I don't think none of these fuckers are going to have that. [00:13:22] Speaker B: People just call her Mother or the Mother. She's the Mother of the Bloody Blades. [00:13:27] Speaker C: Cool. My face still covered. I feel like I need to say that again just in case. But Graven will nod to. To Lorelai and be like, everyone, this is the Mother. [00:13:47] Speaker B: And not at all of you. [00:13:51] Speaker C: This is the crew I'm running with for now. [00:13:58] Speaker B: Yes. Interesting group. We'll look over at you. Gravewing. How much do you trust them? [00:14:16] Speaker C: Trust is a very strong word. I will say. Circumstances have all of us in a chokehold, so we kind of have to trust each other. I know that you in particular are not going to like the company of three of them, so, yes, it's been. [00:14:40] Speaker B: One of those weeks, apparently. [00:14:43] Speaker C: Gesture. But we need documents. Well, to travel through the districts we're currently held up in the Bastion. So not exactly the most ideal place. [00:14:59] Speaker B: Of course not. But yeah. Do you have a place where we could talk? Preferably not where somebody can wander in? [00:15:10] Speaker C: I've got the back. [00:15:14] Speaker B: That works for Me. Clover, will you keep an eye out, make sure no one's trying to eavesdrop? And the other woman nods and just sort of, like, leans up against the wall. [00:15:31] Speaker C: I will take this bitch to the back. [00:15:35] Speaker D: Are the rest of us invited, or is this just. [00:15:38] Speaker B: You are not not invited. [00:15:42] Speaker C: You were very pointedly not invited, and then they left a bouncer. [00:15:46] Speaker B: Yeah, well, it was. It was. You're not not invited. But she's really only speaking to Grapelling. [00:15:53] Speaker G: Yeah, I'm gonna be honest. This tension's awkward. I'm not getting involved. I'm just letting Moth mom handle the documents. I'm just sitting in the. In the room. [00:16:01] Speaker A: Just. [00:16:01] Speaker G: Just sitting there. Like an npc. [00:16:07] Speaker A: Yeah. Also staying out because Lou thinks Moth mom hates her, so I do want them to. [00:16:14] Speaker G: So I can't follow them. [00:16:20] Speaker D: I'm going to follow, and I'm going to watch. [00:16:22] Speaker F: Def. [00:16:23] Speaker E: Wait. [00:16:27] Speaker F: I am going to follow as well, but feel less certain about it after that last sentence you just said. [00:16:39] Speaker C: I like the idea of life announcing that, but. [00:16:46] Speaker E: Just walking away. That would be on brand. [00:16:51] Speaker B: Is Yuri going as well? [00:16:54] Speaker E: No, they're. They're too concerned about outside people, and they're still kind of, like, making sure the gun that they're taking is in better condition. [00:17:05] Speaker B: Yeah. So, yeah, you can lead Lorelai back into the living space. Take a seat at a table. So before she'll look at all three of you and say, well, under normal circumstances, I could get you papers, but I have a slight problem. Currently, my forger is missing. There's been a lot of people going missing in Salvation Row, and we can't pinpoint why. [00:17:47] Speaker C: When did this start? [00:17:51] Speaker B: About 2 and a half weeks ago. First person went missing. It's been another. Well, every three to four nights. We try and cover as much of the district as we can. We're not getting any help. We're definitely not getting any help from outside forces, but whoever it is, they know what they're doing. [00:18:19] Speaker C: Is it just for people going missing? [00:18:23] Speaker B: Some of them are my people. Some of them are just people who live in Salvation Row. As far as we can tell, there's only one thing that connects all of these people. They're all dawnfir. [00:18:42] Speaker C: Well, that's a little bit more ominous. [00:18:45] Speaker B: Yes. [00:18:47] Speaker D: Is that something that's well known around Salvation Row? [00:18:53] Speaker B: I make it my business. I make it my business. And there's kind of like where the mouth is cut out. You can kind of see she gives you a bit of a smile and shows off a bit of fang. [00:19:09] Speaker C: No, no, you don't understand. Put that away from chat. Moving will kind of nod at that and kind of lean back in her chair for a bit and be like, well, oh, how. How long has your forager been missing? [00:19:30] Speaker B: They went missing three nights ago. [00:19:32] Speaker C: Three nights? So it's recent. [00:19:34] Speaker B: No bodies have ever been discovered. [00:19:37] Speaker C: Blood. [00:19:39] Speaker B: Blood at the scenes, usually, but not a lot. It doesn't. There are no bodies. Someone wants something. I'm unsure of what it is, but if you can help me get the forger back, I'll get you your papers free of charge. [00:20:13] Speaker C: Well, at the very least, no one's gonna miss actual fugitives going missing. [00:20:24] Speaker B: People outside of the district don't really care what happens in the rock. [00:20:30] Speaker C: Rs going to look to Le and Yuri to see if they have anything else they'd like to add in. [00:20:40] Speaker E: Yuri's not there. [00:20:43] Speaker C: Oh, Alistair was there. Yeah, my bad, My bad. Leif and Alistair to see if y'all want to add in anything. [00:20:53] Speaker F: I think this sounds like the perfect case for us. [00:21:00] Speaker D: Do you need to sit in on your famed detective work? [00:21:05] Speaker F: I. I'll let you help out. [00:21:10] Speaker C: I'll let you hold the tools. Champ will kind of lean a bit over to Lorelai and just be like, alistor here is actually an investigator, so lucky for you, it looks like we might actually have the skills to do this. [00:21:44] Speaker B: Are you leaning forward? Hands on the table? [00:21:48] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:21:50] Speaker B: Okay. Her hand sort of brushes yours just a little. The gloves. She's all. She's wearing leather gloves on her hands, but as she leans forward a little bit, a little bit of her sleeve comes back, and you can see her arms are covered by these intricate tattoos. [00:22:13] Speaker C: Any new ones? [00:22:15] Speaker B: Not since you last saw them, no. [00:22:21] Speaker C: I'm gonna let. I'm gonna let the hand touch happen, but it's not gonna linger for too long because lathe is here and lathe is latest. Observant. [00:22:36] Speaker D: I was gonna say. Can I notice the hand touch? I. I want to notice. Gay. [00:22:43] Speaker B: I don't think Lorelai is not necessarily trying to hide the hand touch, but it's. It's not being super. Like, what is your perception bonus? [00:22:54] Speaker D: Just real quick, give me a second. I think it's a plus eight. It's a plus nine. [00:22:59] Speaker B: Plus nine. Yeah, I'd say you can notice that. [00:23:03] Speaker A: Wa. [00:23:04] Speaker D: Smirks in the background, but doesn't say anything yet. [00:23:10] Speaker C: Is there anything else you can tell us that's been going around the city in the past two weeks? We're kind of. For a lack of better terms, we don't know what the going on. [00:23:24] Speaker B: Well, it's the Holy Blood have been active. I have some people that are in the Council of 12, our ruling body. Some spies. It is almost like the High Priests, the lamplighters and the Holy Blood have kneecapped them per se. They can't get anything done. The Holy Blood are patrolling the streets in even more higher numbers these days. I've had to pull most of my agents back to the district, so I'm mostly in survival mode. Because if they do decide to come for us, there's not much we can do to hold out a bunch of ruffians and cutpurses. A few assassins and me. Not much we can do there. But I did hear about your trip and I'm glad you made it back to us. [00:24:49] Speaker C: It would appear that I am the only one who made it back, I think. Have you heard from my partners? [00:25:02] Speaker B: She thinks for a moment and says one of the your brother in law, his family has retreated back into their mansion. They're not letting anyone in. They fired all their servants. They're hiding something. [00:25:24] Speaker C: Oh well, I don't like that one bit. [00:25:30] Speaker B: Other than that, no word about. No word about Widow. It's like she dropped off the map. [00:25:41] Speaker C: Okay, now I really don't like that. [00:25:46] Speaker G: God. [00:25:46] Speaker C: I'm trying to think of more questions because I know I had a bunch. But last night I played the gayest thing in a while, so my brain's very empty. I had to take a nap to. [00:25:57] Speaker B: Recuperate, as it happens to us all. But also, if the other two people in here have questions about anything, you can ask. [00:26:12] Speaker F: Not wanting to interrupt their moment. So, in a much more detectively manner than I can manage to ask, how long has the forger been missing and where was he last seen? [00:26:36] Speaker B: It was three days ago. That's when they disappeared. And he was last seen leaving the Bloody Blades hideout, for lack of a better term, the tavern they call home. [00:26:55] Speaker F: Is there anything in that area that like I would know as a character, like risk factors? I'm not sure where exactly their hideout is. [00:27:10] Speaker B: Their hideout is in Salvation Row. And you as a character would know the Bloody Blades are supposed to be the most dangerous thing in that district. So. And it's a district that the coinguard and the Holy Blood generally avoid because of the Bloody Blades. [00:27:35] Speaker F: So I guess that's where we'll have to start. The other question would be. Because we know where he was coming from. He was coming from. The other question would be where he lives or where he would have been going to while he was leaving. I Assume it would be Holm, but just so that we know kind of a general direction to go from there. [00:28:03] Speaker B: Yeah. The forger. Their name is Gavin, and they live above one of the houses of ill repute in the district. [00:28:20] Speaker F: Does Gavin use they. Them pronouns? He, they, he, they. Okay. Yeah. I think that answers my questions. [00:28:38] Speaker B: And Lorelei will also give you a description of Gavin. Their early 20s. They have sort of this close cropped dark hair. And they are. They appear to be human, you know, but Lorelei knows that they are a dhamphere. They're one of the many in the district. They're a surprising amount in Salvation Row itself. [00:29:14] Speaker F: Lu and Yuri got arrested in Coffin Walk. [00:29:17] Speaker B: Yes. Yes. They got arrested in Coffin Walk. [00:29:20] Speaker F: Okay. [00:29:22] Speaker B: It's a different district. [00:29:30] Speaker F: Oh, one question, and I guess this is more for gravewing is are we able to get there without, like, once we're in kind of the ratty neighborhood, we should be fine. Fine. Because I don't want to call it a ratty neighborhood. That's classist. But, you know, less guards, this more allies. [00:29:56] Speaker C: This whole game is classist. Don't worry about it. [00:29:59] Speaker D: I thought you didn't want to call it a ratty neighborhood because you're a rat. [00:30:05] Speaker F: That's what I thought. [00:30:06] Speaker A: I'm like, wow, it's speciesist. [00:30:10] Speaker F: Me as a player. Didn't think about that. But I think Alistair would be offended. [00:30:17] Speaker A: Offending your own character. [00:30:23] Speaker C: Sorry. Could you repeat the question, though? [00:30:26] Speaker F: Yeah. How. How can we? Like, you would know, but I think you'll have to ask Aubry. How can we get there without a attracting attention? Like, what's the best path? Let's get started. [00:30:42] Speaker B: Lorelei says if you follow me, I can take you through an area. You won't be noticed. I certainly don't make a habit of going through the official checkpoints. I don't really like the mask. I don't really like taking it off. [00:31:05] Speaker C: Well, I don't mind. I don't mind going now, but gotta take care of this place real quick first. [00:31:17] Speaker B: Yeah. So discuss maybe among your group first. We have a few hours before nightfall, and if we're going by the same pattern, there's a chance that it's gonna happen again tonight. I have everyone on red alert, but there's only so much of the district we can cover. [00:31:44] Speaker C: Grieving's gonna look at the other two. That's. That's here. And just kind of gesture with her head to like, get up, like, let's go talk to the rest of the group. We have concluded here no one's allowed to sit in my kitchen anymore. It's. God. If this is actually the kitchen, there's totally like little kid pictures taped on the equivalent of a fridge and the walls and stuff. [00:32:13] Speaker D: Wait, okay, this is actually an important question now. Are we actually in the kitchen and are there little kid pictures everywhere? [00:32:19] Speaker C: I think it makes sense being a place to sit since this is. This is a. This, this space is majority shop. And then there's a living area in the back. So I. It would make sense that the one place to also sit and mingle is like a kitchen, dining room situation. So, yeah, definitely kitchen. Definitely some drawings, some child drawings here. There. Fridge worthy. Fridge worthy. Except I don't know if fridges exist here. [00:32:51] Speaker B: So it's more of like an ice box. [00:32:53] Speaker C: Icebox worthy, Icebox worthy, Wall worthy. Yeah, like, lots of. Lots of stuff. [00:33:00] Speaker D: Laith, who never had any of her childhood art displayed anywhere, is sort of looking at all of these signs of love around here, both maternal and whatever's happening between the two milves. But yeah, I will follow you out of the kitchen. [00:33:24] Speaker C: We reconvene to the main area of the shop, look at y'all and be like, so you guys want to play detective for a little while? [00:33:38] Speaker D: It's not actually a choice that makes more sense. [00:33:43] Speaker E: Ah, the illusion of choice. [00:33:46] Speaker C: We're still getting something out of it. We just need to find the forager. And I mean, people are going missing, so that's never really good. [00:33:55] Speaker A: Missing. [00:33:55] Speaker E: Missing. [00:33:56] Speaker C: Wow. Yeah. [00:33:57] Speaker A: Salvation row looks at Yuri. Do you think our friend could have traveled it does not like they are that far. [00:34:13] Speaker E: Is there. Is there a pattern of people going missing? [00:34:21] Speaker C: All dumb fear. [00:34:26] Speaker A: Lou does not look at anyone in the party, but her eyes widen a little bit. [00:34:33] Speaker E: Yuri 100% notice that. Not going to say anything yet. Just to get off the bat, could I like, would Yuri know that if it was the bogey man or another bogey, would that be something part of their MO or is it just kind of anyone who. [00:34:55] Speaker A: Bogey man left bodies? [00:34:57] Speaker E: Yeah. [00:35:00] Speaker B: You want to give me any kind of. You got monster lore, right? [00:35:03] Speaker E: I got monster lore. [00:35:05] Speaker B: Well, give me that wrong. [00:35:07] Speaker C: Yeah. Gravewing will add a few more details. Sometimes there's blood left in the scene, but there are no bodies. I'm assuming signs of struggle is why there's blood. [00:35:22] Speaker E: That's a 24. 24. [00:35:28] Speaker B: From what? You remember the bogey, the bogeyman, all other bogeys, they generally lure people away. There will you found bodies later, but there were very little, if ever actually signs of struggle. So, yeah, and it's very. It's very specific because, like, boogeyman, anybody you can lure away, this is a very specific type. [00:35:53] Speaker A: Yeah, I don't suppose. [00:35:56] Speaker E: Oh, sorry, go ahead with that same roll. Would it make a sense? Or I could roll again, see if, like, with grave wings added description. [00:36:08] Speaker B: If there's anything come to mind. No, it's an interesting choice. You know, it really is. If you could get access to any. If there were any bodies, you might be able to tell more. But currently, it's just. [00:36:26] Speaker E: Just like, off the bat, thinking of a monster that hunts Dampiers, nothing comes to mind. [00:36:32] Speaker B: Yeah, they're usually called, like, Van Helsings. Yeah. [00:36:37] Speaker E: Thank you, Aubrey. [00:36:38] Speaker B: You're welcome. [00:36:40] Speaker E: Same vine. [00:36:40] Speaker A: I don't slander Hugh Jackman like this. [00:36:44] Speaker D: I don't suppose that a convenient, like, scarf or glove or something fell off of Gavin's body that Niall could do some sort of reading on. [00:36:55] Speaker B: Unfortunately, we didn't find anything like that at the scene. [00:37:00] Speaker D: If you're talking which your bunny makes it look like you are, I said. [00:37:04] Speaker G: Because I was muted, because I kept saying absolutely down bad things about Gravewing and the mother. And I was like, honestly, I need to keep this muted. I cannot talk about this, but does blood count as an object? [00:37:17] Speaker B: No. [00:37:20] Speaker G: Well, and I'll just speak up after Elaine volunteers me is like, well, technically speaking, if we know where it happened, I could try to check an object like a tile or a floor that the event happened on and see if that could give us any information. But I am limited based on a week in the past. That's the best I can do. I can also. Can I just, in my head ask. Cause I'm like, do you happen to know anything about monsters that specifically eat d mirrors and leave a little trace of blood only? [00:37:48] Speaker B: Did you just get a nil? [00:37:52] Speaker G: I tried. [00:37:55] Speaker C: Graveling will say, lucky for you, Forager's been missing for three days, huh? So maybe we'll be able to find something. [00:38:09] Speaker A: I know you answered this earlier, but I zoned out, so I only heard the question, and I fully missed the answer. Laith had asked something about how they knew they were dampier. What was the solution answer to that question? [00:38:29] Speaker B: It was, Lorelai makes a habit of knowing all the damn fear in her district. [00:38:34] Speaker A: So we get she is also one. [00:38:35] Speaker D: She is one. [00:38:36] Speaker A: So we don't know how the kidnappers know. [00:38:38] Speaker B: Okay, yeah, we don't know how they know. [00:38:41] Speaker A: I did hear that answer. I just forgot it. Okay, then Lou will ask if we have any idea how the potential kidnapper Monster whatever knows these people are dampier. [00:38:57] Speaker D: There are signs. [00:39:00] Speaker B: This is true. [00:39:02] Speaker A: We assuming they are being stalked. They mean there may be signs, but they are usually subtle unless someone is being very obvious. And some are more subtle than others not. [00:39:17] Speaker B: Yes, well, it really depends from dfir to dhamph. Gavin, like me, had very prominent fangs. It was. Gavin is technically my half brother, but I didn't know that until about two years ago. [00:39:35] Speaker C: Oh, you had family. Wow, like actual family. That's new. [00:39:40] Speaker B: Well, my mother is a problem. [00:39:47] Speaker C: Well. [00:39:49] Speaker D: But you haven't felt anyone creeping around you? [00:39:55] Speaker B: Well, I usually. And Clover is the person who speaks about. Just has. I make sure she never travels alone. And Lorelai's like he has a bit of that. Lucky if I can get time to bathe alone. [00:40:14] Speaker D: Okay, not bathing alone seems pretty lucky, but. [00:40:19] Speaker G: Excuse me, Miss Mother lady, do you happen to know any groups or anything that have a vendetta against you? It might help narrow down if this is an organization or if this is a monster. [00:40:30] Speaker B: Well, I'm not particularly liked by either the Coinguard or the Holy Blood, but as far as I can tell, they haven't been in our district in a while. [00:40:40] Speaker G: Are you confident to say that it wasn't those two or someone who has a grudge against you? [00:40:45] Speaker B: Not 100% confident, but yet again, Gavin is the only dawn fear that's been related to me. So many of the others have just been people I know in the district. I make a habit of knowing who lives in Salvation Realm. [00:41:03] Speaker G: So do you? [00:41:04] Speaker D: Any of them. [00:41:06] Speaker G: You go first. [00:41:06] Speaker D: Go ahead. [00:41:07] Speaker G: No, you go first. [00:41:08] Speaker D: Well, I was just going to ask, do any of them have particularly notable jobs, work for notable families? [00:41:17] Speaker B: One was a courtesan, one was a maid, one was a blacksmith. And then we've got Gavin the forger. And as far as I can tell. [00:41:33] Speaker D: Do you know. [00:41:36] Speaker B: Someone in the Silver Court? No one incredibly important minor noble family made their name in some sort of mercantile. [00:41:49] Speaker E: Aubrey, would y happen to have, like, a point of contact here in Salvation Row? Like, kind of how they knew the person and Coffin run? [00:42:05] Speaker B: Yeah, you probably have someone. Who are they? What do they do? [00:42:14] Speaker D: Roll on the X's table? Dustin? [00:42:19] Speaker E: I was gonna say. Yeah, that makes fun. [00:42:22] Speaker B: Let's roll on that table. You've designed the table of X's for those listening. [00:42:30] Speaker E: Yurido is. Oh, so I made a whole list of Yurido X's. Okay, so yo would know a bartender in this area? A human bartender's name is Oscar. They are a very. No nonsense, very pretty bartender. They could Give Dev Patel a run for their money. Last year we seen that they did work in this area. Maybe one of the small bars or maybe the bar in Salvation Row. [00:43:12] Speaker B: There's the. The Crow and Hammer Tavern. [00:43:19] Speaker E: Yur though would pause and look at mother of the mother and who happened in the whole of store. Would Oscar still work at the tavern? [00:43:37] Speaker B: Yes, last I was there a night or two ago. Yeah, I think he was there. [00:43:45] Speaker E: Okay. I may. They may know some more information about things. They happen to be in a point of contact. For me though we're not exactly friends. [00:44:04] Speaker D: Which point was in contact with them exactly? [00:44:09] Speaker E: I. I do jobs all around the city. I know that may be surprising to have a job. You know, I would. I would help problems and then always talk to them like I'm talking to you right now. So I could go try to reach out to them, see if they noticed anything, any movement. When you work at a tavern, I think you notice new people more often than not. [00:44:38] Speaker G: Honestly, if it's the only lead we have is worth a shot. We can ask him about it and we can check the last scene of the crime to see if I can dredge up any information. Sorry, I'm not much of a detective type. I can't really help a lot here, but I'll do what I can. [00:44:52] Speaker E: I mean you. I could just go alone to go talk to Oscar. [00:44:56] Speaker G: That's a terrible idea. That is the worst idea. [00:44:59] Speaker B: No, it's fine. [00:45:00] Speaker E: I know it's fine. [00:45:02] Speaker B: We must all go together. [00:45:03] Speaker A: Go anywhere alone. [00:45:05] Speaker G: Especially right now. It's not a good idea to go alone. [00:45:08] Speaker B: Crawling. The Hammer has the best food in the district. [00:45:12] Speaker E: Maybe we should go to scene of crime first. [00:45:17] Speaker G: Well, if this place has good food, I do want to check it out. No specific reason, but. [00:45:25] Speaker A: Why did you change ideas so suddenly? [00:45:28] Speaker E: Well, if we're gonna all go together, we should probably go to the scene of crime first. During the middle of the day when there's like no one probably paying attention to it. [00:45:37] Speaker B: It's currently evening at this point. [00:45:40] Speaker E: During the middle of the evening where no one's probably paying attention to it. [00:45:46] Speaker G: My favorite time to check out a crime scene in the middle of the evening. [00:45:50] Speaker A: Interesting. [00:45:52] Speaker B: Well, if you're ready, I can take you one second. [00:45:59] Speaker C: I look at Juniper. [00:46:02] Speaker B: Jeez, I'm rupees. Yeah, sweats. [00:46:08] Speaker C: Okay, listen, we gotta go. And by we, I mean everyone but you. I think you're safer here and I. I would love to move you to Starlight Bastion where I think you might thrive a little bit more. Not because of, no, actually, absolutely. Because of all the ghouls. But I need. I need you to front this place for a little bit. [00:46:35] Speaker B: Yeah, yeah, I can do that. I can run a shop. [00:46:37] Speaker C: Yeah. I'll give you the key to this. If you could make another one, that'd be great because I'm pretty sure mine's just gone forever probably. [00:46:49] Speaker B: Yeah, I can make another one. No problem. [00:46:52] Speaker C: Yeah, obviously everything around here. Feel free to do whatever. Kids have books. You look like you read, so there's that. Hum. [00:47:06] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:47:07] Speaker B: Well, I'm working on some stuff, so I'm going to continue tinkering with that. [00:47:13] Speaker C: Do you need money? [00:47:16] Speaker B: I'm all right. [00:47:17] Speaker C: You sure? [00:47:18] Speaker B: I got. Yeah, I had my union salary for a while, so I'm all right. [00:47:28] Speaker C: Well, yeah, we'll definitely try to be back here. I don't think we'll be coming back here tonight, but maybe this week later this week. I don't know. Yeah, yeah, we'll try to send some messages to you. [00:47:46] Speaker B: Yeah, just let me know. I'll keep. I'll hold down the fort until you get back. [00:47:56] Speaker C: Names you gotta know. If they ask where Tristan is, just say family vacation and you're hired help. [00:48:06] Speaker B: I can do that. [00:48:10] Speaker C: We have a log book also for orders. I have no idea if you're ever going to see any of these people at this point. We've been keeping them waiting for two weeks, so. Yeah, fun stuff. [00:48:21] Speaker B: If they. If they come by, I'll figure it out. Like, I mean, a lot of the stuff is kind of in my wheelhouse. I think I could probably figure out how most of the stuff works. Yeah. [00:48:35] Speaker C: Dope. Oh, we have like two stools around here. Like footstools, step stools. One is one step, the other is three steps. Feel free to use it. [00:48:47] Speaker B: Sure. Yeah. [00:48:50] Speaker C: And the rest and be like. Okay, I'm good. [00:48:54] Speaker G: All right, let's go check out a crime scene. [00:48:58] Speaker B: I you all leave North Star Armaments and start following Lorelei and Lacy. If everybody could give me stealth checks as you keep to the shadows. [00:49:16] Speaker C: Who's Lacy? [00:49:18] Speaker B: Clover, the other person. [00:49:20] Speaker E: Okay. [00:49:20] Speaker A: Oh, okay. [00:49:20] Speaker C: Lacy is Clover. I was gonna be like, that's. Those are two different names, Aubrey. [00:49:24] Speaker A: Oh, is that. [00:49:26] Speaker B: They each each have nicknames and she's called Clover because she's a good luck charm. [00:49:34] Speaker F: While we're all rolling, I. Oh, this. Gracious. Yeah. Nice. Nat 1 as a 10. I am going to designate this as my current case, however. What's the word? Verbiage I'm looking for because I've not been doing it Properly, I use the. [00:49:57] Speaker E: Hero points I wrote in that one, but now I have an ATP. [00:50:02] Speaker B: All right, Alistair, do you. Do you want to use a hero point? I'd recommend it for that one. [00:50:12] Speaker D: Bad start. [00:50:14] Speaker C: I also rolled in that one and used a hero point. It would appear that we're matching. [00:50:20] Speaker F: That is a two for an 11. [00:50:26] Speaker C: Was that your modifier is so high, dude, this is. This is why. [00:50:32] Speaker A: Dusty, did you also roll that one? [00:50:35] Speaker E: Yes, I did. [00:50:36] Speaker A: Three NAT roll ones for one stealth check. [00:50:40] Speaker D: Yeah, one total. [00:50:43] Speaker A: Jeez, I'm glad we have hero. [00:50:48] Speaker B: I think I might have taken everyone's good luck last night. [00:50:53] Speaker A: That's not ideal for me. [00:50:55] Speaker C: Aubrey rolled quite literally a six almost every single time. I think there was only one set of rolls where you didn't roll a six. [00:51:02] Speaker A: Yeah, there was the last roll, and there was one other roll where you didn't want a six, and you. So you did not get one. Oh, yeah. [00:51:10] Speaker C: You didn't take a rune because of it. [00:51:11] Speaker A: Yeah, yeah. It was a ruin roll, and you didn't get a six. And I'm like, meanwhile. [00:51:16] Speaker B: Yeah, meanwhile. Speed running that. [00:51:20] Speaker A: It's okay. I just made it part of the character. It was fine. [00:51:24] Speaker F: So that's what I was looking for. [00:51:27] Speaker B: Yeah. So, yeah, you. Luckily, the majority of you pass the role, so you can help the rat along. You can sort of give him a little push when he needs it. And you are led between several buildings to a. Like, a fence between the districts. And move a couple of fence posts out of the way, it becomes a way to just slip on through from the bazaar into salvation row. And then after few more minutes of walking through, you'll notice, all of you, that there are people sort of posted around. They just look like ruffians, essentially. But also, you watch as these people are sort of herding people back to their homes, especially as night is starting to fall. Currently, the blades are taking no chances, and you're all led to an alleyway between two buildings. And Lorelai says this is as far as I can tell, as far as any of us can tell where Gavin was taken from. [00:52:58] Speaker G: Wait, are we as far as we can go, or did we get there? [00:53:01] Speaker B: You were there. You were at the alley. [00:53:04] Speaker G: Okay. Do you know more of, like, exactly where the body was? Like a. [00:53:08] Speaker B: There's no body. [00:53:10] Speaker A: Where. [00:53:11] Speaker G: Where the crime was, where the blood spot was. [00:53:14] Speaker B: I'm sorry, there's a little, like. We'll point to this sort of, like, reddish rush stain on the wall. It's like that big. It looks like somebody maybe, like, took A punch and then spit out a little bit of blood. [00:53:28] Speaker G: Okay, well, it's my best shot. It's probably the tile that took the impact. This is probably the most interesting thing that's happened to that tile. So I'll give it a shot and I'll put my hand out and cast object reading. [00:53:40] Speaker A: Can I cast detect magic while you're doing that? [00:53:46] Speaker B: Yeah, you can. And Niall, It's a bit of a mess. It appears that somebody had a really great time here about five nights ago. And that's definitely sticking around more than just the sudden blood. [00:54:02] Speaker E: Yeah, I was going to say an alley. [00:54:05] Speaker B: There's. It's. It's like if you were, like, watching a waveform and then there's a sudden spike. There's this sudden spike of fear and tension, and then it's gone. About three nights ago. That's about. That's about it. [00:54:21] Speaker A: Okay. [00:54:23] Speaker F: Do I notice anything odd around? [00:54:30] Speaker B: Really? The. The blood stain is. Is it? [00:54:33] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:54:34] Speaker G: I'll just relay what I got, which is not much, but it was an attempt. [00:54:40] Speaker E: Yeah. [00:54:42] Speaker A: Is there anything magical in 30ft? [00:54:48] Speaker B: There is the magic items that are on you, on Lorelei, your friends. And there is some vague, lingering magic that feels old, maybe from three days ago, kind of. You'd have to say possibly illusion. [00:55:19] Speaker D: Oh. [00:55:22] Speaker A: I think Lou will be walking around the aisle swinging like a little pendant on a chain that occasionally will, like, wiggle out in a certain direction. And then tell the group there may have been illusion magic here a few days ago, but that also could mean anything. [00:55:49] Speaker G: So fear and terror and illusion magic kind of implies that whatever attack was sort of jumped like a surprise, which doesn't really give us a lot of information, I'll be honest. [00:56:01] Speaker A: And that's only if they are even connected. [00:56:03] Speaker E: Did Aubrey. I have Ody identification. When you become aware of a magical fact, Marc spell being cast, you can immediately determine if it twists minds, fights against fortune, or reveals secrets. Basically, like, I think trying to figure out just what the intention of the spell was being used for. And then I could do at the GM's discretion. Similar effects can also fall into these categories. If I try to identify magic or recall knowledge because I like learning what they're saying. See if I could pick off of that and see if I notice anything else. [00:56:45] Speaker B: Yeah, if you want to give me what, an arcana. [00:56:52] Speaker E: How about an occult. [00:56:55] Speaker B: The cult works. [00:56:56] Speaker E: Okay. I get a plus two to that roll, which, you know, what, with my. [00:57:05] Speaker B: Plus eight, that's a 13 plus eight. Thirteen. I mean, an illusion spell. It sounds like a Great way to surprise someone. Maybe catch them unawares. [00:57:19] Speaker E: The alley itself. Where are we in? Are we in somewhere prominent? Is there like a shop next to us? I missed that part. [00:57:29] Speaker B: You are kind of. It is between houses, essentially. Just between houses. Houses. You know, it's kind of just like an area where you're kind of in like almost like the center of this like t intersection where these houses are, where people can sort of pass through. And there are places back here for people to like leave garbage and things like that. [00:57:58] Speaker E: How. How tall are the buildings around us? [00:58:01] Speaker B: Like two stories. [00:58:03] Speaker E: Okay, so jumping down would not be like a thing. [00:58:08] Speaker G: Great mouse. Detective. [00:58:12] Speaker F: Yes. [00:58:13] Speaker G: Riddle me this. If this person's a forger, why would they go into a back alley between two houses? There's nothing here, is there? [00:58:23] Speaker D: Yes. It's the hideout of the bloody blades. [00:58:26] Speaker G: Is it? [00:58:28] Speaker B: No. [00:58:28] Speaker D: Yes. [00:58:30] Speaker G: Okay. [00:58:31] Speaker D: You said they were leaving a hideout, right? [00:58:35] Speaker B: Yes. If you ask the question, Lorelei will be like. His home is two blocks over that way. He's cutting through to go home. [00:58:46] Speaker G: Oh, he's cutting through a back alley. I see. [00:58:48] Speaker A: Are there? I know you said people were starting to be ushered home, but are there like anybody, like neighbors or anybody that might be willing to talk to us? I have eyes of the city is why I bring it up. So I can track down targets with the help of locals. [00:59:08] Speaker B: Is there a role associated with that? [00:59:11] Speaker A: Yes. It's diplomacy or society instead of survival to track. Otherwise, it's tracking. [00:59:20] Speaker B: Sure. Yeah. Give me one of those two roles. [00:59:26] Speaker F: And I will clue in. I think that works on you. Gives you. Was it plus one bonus since you're doing something to investigate. My lead I am pursuing. [00:59:40] Speaker B: Yep. [00:59:41] Speaker A: Well, good thing for that. I used to hero point and still rolled bad. So that's going to be a 17. [00:59:47] Speaker B: 17. So when you talk to these people and get any information from them, it's one of them didn't hear anything. There was one person who heard a slight commotion at about 2 in the morning. But yet again, they're about a block or two away from a house of ill repute, so they didn't think much of it. Because sometimes people just need place to do their business. [01:00:26] Speaker F: You know, it's a shame we don't have a damp here to use as a bait. [01:00:34] Speaker A: But that is very unfortunate. Except for we should not use people as bait. [01:00:40] Speaker E: It didn't work well last time we tried it. [01:00:42] Speaker A: I mean it. It worked well. We just went out of our. [01:00:49] Speaker D: Thinking the same thing, Alistair. But the question is how they know that the person that they're kidnapping is a dhampir. [01:00:58] Speaker A: I know. It's not like maybe, what if we pretended to have a dhampir and someone just, I don't know, bit someone? I know that's not really what they do. But you're not. [01:01:12] Speaker E: I mean, I mean, it would have to be someone that either is keeping an eye for tells. So these are all very premeditated or they have a way to. I don't know, I sense like auras. [01:01:31] Speaker F: Or life force makes themselves look really tasty. [01:01:36] Speaker E: Like a reverse bait situation. [01:01:40] Speaker C: I think the idea though is that they would be able to tell if we were faking it. [01:01:47] Speaker E: Yeah. [01:01:50] Speaker B: I mean, someone used illusion magic. [01:01:54] Speaker A: I'm playing that Gavin pretended to be a Dampier to get taken. [01:02:02] Speaker B: Aubrey. [01:02:03] Speaker E: No, I think someone fooled Gavin. [01:02:06] Speaker C: Yeah, that's what I think. [01:02:07] Speaker B: Someone used like illusion magic. Like, I don't know, an invisibility spell. [01:02:13] Speaker A: That makes more sense. That's where I was thinking originally. [01:02:16] Speaker C: I assume that too. So we're talking about Gavin. You're like. So when used invisible was like Gavin. Gavin pretended like. What's happening? [01:02:24] Speaker E: I mean, what if it is Gavin? [01:02:26] Speaker B: His own kidnappings. [01:02:28] Speaker A: I don't know the man. [01:02:31] Speaker E: That's far from the strangest thing that's happened in this campaign. [01:02:35] Speaker A: That being the plot twist in a normal mystery. [01:02:39] Speaker F: No magic. Is there any, like, more subtle telltale things like perhaps disturbed garbage or footsteps, broken railings from above that we see around? [01:03:02] Speaker B: So I will let you know. It has been three days and this is not like anyone has walled this off and stopped people from going through. They got their initial information and went along. And this is also a district that's in not great shape. [01:03:21] Speaker F: So is it commonly traveled? I like. How much foot traffic does this alley get? [01:03:31] Speaker B: It's gotten a lot more in the last few days because there were a bunch of people who were trying to find Gavin for those first two days. And then, you know, it is. It gets. It gets a decent amount of foot traffic because of people cutting through alleyways and things like that to get home and people from the Silver Fox and other places. Yeah. [01:04:03] Speaker C: Well, then if we can't find anything else here, our best bet might just be to find your not friend Yuri. [01:04:11] Speaker E: I mean, yeah, my suggestion was maybe talk to them, see if there's new people going around or there is something very strange clearly about this. The fact that it's all people looking for Dampiers and that they're all like, obviously on premeditated. There has to be a reason for it. And we don't. We need to know the reason, figure out why. [01:04:39] Speaker C: What's the Dampier population like? [01:04:43] Speaker B: Laurel, I will say, before all of this, there was maybe 30 of us here. [01:04:51] Speaker C: Do you know about the rest of the city? [01:04:54] Speaker B: The rest of the city? I unsure. [01:05:00] Speaker C: Do y'all keep it low key or is it like a well known thing? You know, like, ah, to the west side is where all the Dampier live. [01:05:10] Speaker B: I certainly don't go around talking about it there. We all find community together. Many of us don't know our parents or don't have good relationships with our parents. So, you know, we try to look out for each other. [01:05:32] Speaker F: Maybe we should put out some feelers for someone that has a problem with Dampiers in particular. Or we could check out his house to see if maybe he was in contact with anyone new. [01:05:46] Speaker E: That wouldn't be a bad idea. [01:05:49] Speaker B: He has a. He has a room that he lives in. I can get you into it if you want, but yet again we are running out of. We are running low on time. If things keep up, there's probably going to be another attack tonight. [01:06:12] Speaker F: How long do we have? [01:06:14] Speaker B: It is getting closer to night. You've probably got maybe two hours until night is here. [01:06:24] Speaker E: I think. I really think we should split up in at least groups. We need to cover ground. You could check the room. We. I understand what I'm about to say, and I understand how silly it sounds, but we're trying to help. Can you have anyone help us go into your base? Or could you take griefing? [01:06:50] Speaker B: Yes, I could have to. [01:06:53] Speaker E: To see if there's anything. When you. When you are somewhere every day, you may notice. Not notice things that go out of place suddenly that are just mundane. I could go to the tavern to check out with my contact to see. [01:07:12] Speaker F: If they've noticed anything, but just double checking. The Dhampirs were not all part of the organization, were they? [01:07:20] Speaker B: No. Gavin is really the only one who was part of the blades who went missing. All the rest were just. One was a blacksmith, one was a courtesan, one was a maid. They all just had normal jobs. They just lived in the district. [01:07:35] Speaker F: Wait, is that my maid? [01:07:39] Speaker B: No. [01:07:40] Speaker F: Okay, different maid. [01:07:42] Speaker D: And Lorelai implied that they all have different vampire relations, right? [01:07:47] Speaker B: The only one that's related to her was Gavin. And she only recently learned that Gavin was her half brother. [01:07:53] Speaker E: So maybe. Yeah, maybe. Then we go to the basis and as you spot. [01:07:58] Speaker D: All right. No, I think that splitting up in groups isn't a bad idea. I'll come with Yordo to the bar. [01:08:07] Speaker A: I will also go with my cousin. [01:08:12] Speaker E: Perfect. Oh great. Yeah. And then the rest of you could go maybe check the room. I check if go when you go to the room check like the surrounding rooftops, surrounding areas. Maybe they could see if anyone was able to just look into their room. I assume the boat place them will be most comfortable. Were easy to find after a doubt here. [01:08:42] Speaker B: Okay, I'm confused. [01:08:45] Speaker C: Okay. Are we. Are we splitting into twos or threes? [01:08:48] Speaker D: So Yuri, Leith and Lou are going to the bar. I think Alistair and Niall are gonna go to the Gavin's house. And then there was an open question of if Gravewing wanted to go to your girl's house too. Also check it out. Lorelei's house, Mommy's house. [01:09:13] Speaker C: Listen, Mom's house. When two moms love each other very much. [01:09:18] Speaker E: We got this story in Bach. We know. [01:09:23] Speaker A: God's engage. We are here for your mothers. [01:09:30] Speaker E: See. Say hello to your mother. [01:09:33] Speaker A: Or we will. [01:09:38] Speaker C: I don't mind going, but I don't. I currently don't see the point. Unless. Yeah, yeah. Unless Lorelei becomes a target. But I think Lore, if. If Lorelai becomes a target, I feel like it'll be way later because she doesn't travel alone. Yeah, yeah. [01:09:56] Speaker E: Have her. Have her go with y'all because that feels like it may be the more dangerous one. [01:10:04] Speaker F: Somebody had a far away conversation ability. Right? [01:10:12] Speaker C: That's me. So the I can send y'all a message. Like as in I can send anybody here a message regardless. The issue is you guys can't send me one back unless you see me, I believe. [01:10:31] Speaker A: Right. [01:10:31] Speaker C: Yeah, that's very one way. [01:10:35] Speaker D: How does your little necklacey thing work? Like do you have message and would that work? [01:10:39] Speaker A: I do not. [01:10:40] Speaker B: Or not. [01:10:41] Speaker A: And it would only be 30ft anyway, so it wouldn't be very helpful in that sense. [01:10:44] Speaker F: Yeah, I can cast message, but it's 120ft and I expect the ball bar is not closer than that. [01:10:54] Speaker E: Yeah. [01:10:54] Speaker B: You are going to be splitting up and going a distance away from each other. [01:10:58] Speaker E: Yeah, I think Bravewing Sting would be fine. If you. If you say that you're in danger, then make a run. If we're in danger, we're fucked. It's fine. [01:11:06] Speaker C: Yeah, yeah. If you guys are in danger, you're fucked. There's actively no way besides us showing you. Besides y'all trying to run in the same direction that we are going. You know what I mean? [01:11:17] Speaker E: Yeah. [01:11:18] Speaker C: For an attempt of a group meetup. That's the only thing that makes sense. I feel like we also the only person who knows that Leif is a damn figure. Besides, Leith is Lou, Right? [01:11:32] Speaker A: Correct. [01:11:33] Speaker C: Yeah, so we don't even know that you guys have one with you and therefore are way more than we would be. So, yeah, that's more fun. Yeah, it's in theory all on y'all, but I can send a message regardless because mine goes one mile. [01:11:53] Speaker E: Do we want to meet at the shop in an hour? [01:11:58] Speaker B: Which shop? [01:12:02] Speaker A: North Star. [01:12:02] Speaker D: That would be traveling through districts again. We should just meet up at the bar or at the house. [01:12:09] Speaker E: Okay. Yeah, or wherever. Wherever's close. [01:12:11] Speaker C: Let's just do the Tavern by then. It'll be dinner time. [01:12:16] Speaker E: Yeah. [01:12:18] Speaker B: Yeah. Well, so you all make this plan and split the group in half. We'll follow the people going to the tavern first. The Crow and Hammer is a actually fairly large tavern, the biggest one in the district. It is going into night and this place is packed. When you arrive, there are people flowing, just overflowing from the tavern itself. They've set up tables outside that people are packed into and getting sort of. You're gonna have to wedge your way through to get to the bar. It is a night and everyone is just trying to blow off some steam. From today. [01:13:13] Speaker E: I think Irida will very pointedly look at the other two. It's like, get a table, I'll bring us drinks. I'm going to try to talk to them first. Sound good? [01:13:29] Speaker B: All right. [01:13:31] Speaker A: Okay. [01:13:31] Speaker E: Okay, please do that. He's going to go to the bar. By the way, Aubrey, for your convenience, in Zoom Chat, I did put all the info about Oscar. So are they. Are they like readily apparent or is there someone else working there? [01:14:00] Speaker B: Yeah, I will say that, yeah, they're. They're behind the bar with the rest of their crew. It's a busy night, so usually they're not at the bar because they own the Tavern, but tonight is an exception. [01:14:15] Speaker E: Yeah, I think you're though walks up, leans on the bar and kind of like does like for Oscar, probably a familiar knock and just wait for them to acknowledge them. [01:14:35] Speaker B: Yeah, you do that and Oscar looks over you. You briefly described them earlier. What do they look like again? [01:14:50] Speaker E: So let's say like darker skin. They have kind of like the longer curly hair. I am very much picturing just like a fantasy Dev Patel with kind of like the like the Tavern ish kind of looking shirt where it has like, kind of like the stringed up part where it's like a V neck. And they have a tattoo of. [01:15:23] Speaker D: Yuri's face. [01:15:25] Speaker E: No, no, they have a tattoo of sword on their arm with the Point facing towards the fingers. [01:15:35] Speaker B: And yes, Leith and Aloetzer manage to snag a table relatively near the bar. So you may not be able to hear what's going on, but you can see what's going on. And you can kind of see as Oscar turns his head towards Yuri and kind of just the eyes narrow and the lips spurs as eventually he comes over and kind of does a thing where he sets his hands on the bar and like leans in and says, well, well, well. Certainly this is a surprise. What do I owe the honor? [01:16:23] Speaker E: It's good to see you too. So I happen to be in the area with a group of people and we're doing. And then an investigation of sorts. [01:16:48] Speaker B: Is that what they're calling it nowadays? [01:16:51] Speaker E: Yes, yes. It. Look, I. Look, I'm just saying I know, you know, you usually like to see me. However, this is a little important. Can I ask some questions about what's been going around town? Some people have gone missing. [01:17:13] Speaker B: It's. [01:17:15] Speaker E: It's more important than me. [01:17:19] Speaker B: Are you going to order a drink? [01:17:23] Speaker E: Yeah, two drinks for. Jury's going to look around hoping that Lou and l are further away and see that they're about 15ft to the right. Two drinks for them. Fanciest cocktails. [01:17:40] Speaker B: We don't got much fancy here, but sure I can find something like sort of starts looking underneath the bar. Be too silver. [01:17:52] Speaker E: Yeah, yeah. I don't have money. [01:18:00] Speaker B: One of you has money. [01:18:02] Speaker D: I was gonna say, I thought we divided it up. [01:18:04] Speaker B: Yeah, I thought you divided. [01:18:05] Speaker E: We did get gold. You did get gold. Okay. [01:18:07] Speaker D: Yeah. [01:18:07] Speaker E: Right then. Yes, then you're a would put. They're gonna put two gold on the counter and just. They don't care about any money back. Just get the drinks to them. [01:18:24] Speaker B: Picks it up, sort of flips between his fingers and you, you know, he kind of does the thing where, you know, holds up the hand and coins are gone. And you watch as he pulls out some bottles and a shaker and starts making something. He goes, well, you have until I'm done with these drinks. Ask your questions. [01:18:41] Speaker E: Great. Have. Have you noticed any, like newer faces in the area? Like, I know this difference big but like stranger than normal. Like. And then yours, I was going to say a little quieter. Holy blood. Not kind of like people like that. [01:19:02] Speaker B: Holy blood showed their face in my tavern, I'd kick them the out. [01:19:06] Speaker E: And I know you would. And I bet you know that would be notable. [01:19:11] Speaker B: No, none of them have generally two chicken to do it in on their own. If they're coming in, they're bringing a group. They haven't been in anyone strange. The big problem with this district is we've got a lot of people who just travel through. So we get a lot of one off weirdos that come through once, never again. Just Nobles that want to come down here, spend mommy and daddy's money and then go back to their high houses. And. [01:19:52] Speaker D: From the audience how pointedly is he looking at Yuri as he says that? [01:19:57] Speaker B: Rather. [01:19:59] Speaker C: Oh. [01:20:03] Speaker E: Here. That was like. Yeah, no I. I get that. [01:20:08] Speaker B: Yeah. There's. There's. Yeah. A lot of. A lot of people feel you know like they get to experience life on their slumming it and can just go home. [01:20:25] Speaker E: Okay now. [01:20:27] Speaker B: But no. No one in particular. Normal nobles less so recently because of the crackdown by the districts. [01:20:43] Speaker E: Have you heard any whispers or anything? That's so the strange thing is. And like you know I don't need to tell you to keep it hush hush but they're targeting D. Pierce. Yeah. Do you know anyone in the surrounding area would. [01:21:05] Speaker B: I mean fellow around the bar. I think we got four here tonight that I know of. You know they don't they. They're the ones with the obvious tails. The pallet skin and teeth. [01:21:21] Speaker E: Yeah. Yeah. [01:21:24] Speaker B: And. But I heard the blades are making it very clear anyone who is dawn fear stay indoors. I don't know. Whispers it's been. Remember that ghost story from a few years ago? Screaming. The woman who was screaming. The ghost that was screaming or whatever. I don't know if it was a ghost or woman or whatever. [01:21:52] Speaker E: Yeah. [01:21:54] Speaker B: Story that's been going around again. I don't know. I know you couldn't figure out what it was but yet again so much weird shit in this district and put it past. [01:22:07] Speaker E: Yeah. We're trying to make sure it doesn't happen again tonight. For those the vampire the dampiers you see around here. Yorda is going to put another cup of gold on the table. Just make sure they don't leave. Treat them extra if you want. [01:22:28] Speaker B: Well to certainly take your money. Tell them that drinks are on the house and we'll set two drinks before you. And glasses that have seen better days but they're clean. They're a little chipped on the rim and sort of slide them across the bar to you and say need anything else? Nowhere to find me. [01:22:55] Speaker E: Yeah. Yeah. But yeah. Let me just take these. Do my cousin and friend. Bye. [01:23:07] Speaker B: Yes, well cousin and friend. Yuri is certainly having a conversation. [01:23:15] Speaker A: While Yuri is talking and before we attempt to do any sort of eavesdropping or just general Vibe watching. Lou would like to lean towards la. Probably scoot around the table one so that we both have the same side of the table so we can both watch Yuri so we have equal views. Okay, that's important. And then also too. So she can very quietly have this conversation because she doesn't want it to be overheard. Which a noisy tavern is a great place to not be overheard, but does want to ask la. So I have always had a suspicion you are a little bit. I don't know how to put this tactfully other than cold blooded. But that is incorrect. Let's just say that a priest could not heal you. [01:24:21] Speaker B: Is that what they're calling it nowadays? [01:24:25] Speaker D: I am gay. Lou. [01:24:27] Speaker B: Yes. [01:24:33] Speaker D: I don't think that priests would want to have much to do with any of us right now. Now. [01:24:40] Speaker A: Okay. I don't want to say it because of the situation at large, but I don't know. Are you actually a little bity? [01:25:01] Speaker D: We just made up. And that's the first thing you want to ask me? [01:25:05] Speaker B: Yeah. [01:25:06] Speaker G: On a level of yes. The hell yes. How much am I eavesdropping on this conversation from another table one foot away? [01:25:11] Speaker E: We're not here. You're. You're with the other crew. [01:25:14] Speaker G: Oh, right. [01:25:14] Speaker B: We split up. [01:25:15] Speaker G: I forgot. [01:25:16] Speaker A: Never mind. [01:25:16] Speaker G: I'm just chilling. [01:25:20] Speaker A: I only ask because of the current situation. Otherwise I would be happy to let it be like it has been for years. But you could be in danger is why I want to know. [01:25:38] Speaker D: Yes. We end up needing bait for this particular endeavor. I'm open to stepping up and do it. [01:25:47] Speaker A: That is not the answer I was actually hoping to hear. But okay. Please be extra careful. [01:26:01] Speaker D: I don't know if caution catches monsters, Alouette. I mean, if that's what Yuri's made a job out of, I can't imagine that it does it all. [01:26:12] Speaker A: I would not know. I just think that Crave Wing would be disappointed if you died or got kidnapped. [01:26:24] Speaker D: Then I will endeavor to do my best. [01:26:28] Speaker E: Good. [01:26:29] Speaker B: Good. [01:26:31] Speaker A: Oh, that looks very pointed. Whatever they are saying over there. Look at Yori's face. They are frowning. They are glaring. They are. They are blushing upset. [01:26:47] Speaker D: Did you ever meet this one? [01:26:49] Speaker A: No, I haven't met most of them. [01:26:56] Speaker D: Looks like it's for a good reason. [01:26:59] Speaker A: I give the impression that Yuri is not a good partner. [01:27:07] Speaker D: Cut back to Yuri and the partner at the bar. [01:27:12] Speaker E: Here though, picked up these drinks and now will casually. As casually as they can. Walk back with them and see that these two are on the same side of the table and just having Fun you're not. Here's the drinks, cousin. [01:27:37] Speaker A: Did you break that once? [01:27:40] Speaker E: I don't know what you're talking about. They broke up with me. [01:27:43] Speaker C: You broke their heart. [01:27:46] Speaker E: So anyways, they've been noticing. They know what's going on with Blades. They said there's a couple tempers here. I paid to make sure that they treat them so they don't leave tonight until we finish whatever we're doing. They. They mentioned something that there has been a rumor about. Talking about the ghost story was that happened a few years back and I tried to investigate it and came up with nothing. Ari would I know what this story is like? [01:28:29] Speaker B: Off the top my ahead there's a. The story was connected to this old condemned mansion in the district. It's saying that the. The owners died in some horrible accident. And now the at least one of them the wife you think haunts the area around it. [01:29:00] Speaker E: Yeah, Y would say like it's about a. A haunting revolving another mansion Dilapidated abandoned mansion in the area. Apparently the last wife of them still haunts the area. [01:29:21] Speaker D: If Ruse and experience taught us anything, it's that dilapidated Manners are great place to do experimentation on. [01:29:30] Speaker E: Yeah, yeah. Well do. [01:29:37] Speaker A: Because of the illusion magic. I wonder if someone is using the ghost story as a sort of COVID Do we know where dimension was and or if any. I don't know. Are the honors associated with Dhampirs in any way or hate them. Or again, it could just be convenient way of obscuring their tracks. [01:30:03] Speaker E: I mean Yurida would know what a mansion is I assume, right? Because they weren't looking into it. Yeah, I don't think they know the other information. [01:30:11] Speaker B: Yeah, you. You know where the mansion is? The big problem is the mansion is in such bad shape you could not get into it. There was a bit of a fire that kind of has ruined quite a bit of the. Like the. Like the sort of the structure in upper floors. [01:30:30] Speaker E: Yeah, well, there was a bit of a fire. From what I understand, it's not exactly safe to enter. [01:30:42] Speaker A: That would be a good place to hide people. [01:30:47] Speaker E: Yeah, Maybe we could look into it and see what the other come up with. Once they meet us here, they might. [01:30:54] Speaker A: Have more information or clues. It does feel like we're going in circles though. [01:31:04] Speaker E: Yes, well, income. It's the nicest stuff they had. Which it's not that nice. [01:31:11] Speaker A: Oh, you spent money on us. We don't have anymore, Yuri. You have to be frugal now. Like I am. [01:31:21] Speaker B: Well, that seems like a pretty good place to leave it for now. And when we come back next week, we'll see what the other people decide and figure out at Gavin's room and then when they all reconvene. So tick, take us out.
