[00:00:00] Speaker A: Sam. Waking up dreaming dark so long I cannot find the meaning. Hold my hand, Let me stay by your side through this never ending night. I can feel it now it holds me. All these demons always roll me in this red light because me he is reaching out, consuming. [00:01:30] Speaker B: Hello everybody, I'm Aubrey and this is Goblets and Kays. I'll introduce my cast, who they are, who they're playing, and get rolling into things. [00:01:38] Speaker A: Hi, I'm Aki and I play the vigilante Gravewing, who is a Nagaji's self monk and kineticist. We both use she her pronouns. Hello, I am Faris, she her and I play Alouette Valer. Also she her, a bardic thaumaturge beast kin doing her best while juggling a family curse, falling in love, and of course, the end of the world. [00:02:04] Speaker C: Hello, I'm Dusty. I use they, he pronouns. Name playing Euro formally Moran. Still a problem, just angrier now. They are blood hunter, Nephilim problem. Just. Just trying to fix things, even though it's all bad. They also use they he pronouns. [00:02:29] Speaker D: Hello, I'm Sparlock and I play Alistair Whiskerfield, the great rat detective, arcane archer and wizard extraordinaire, the revolutionary firebrand, sworn enemy to the Scriabins and scourge of the bourgeoisie and master of Nicodemus Tower. We both use he, him pronouns. [00:02:51] Speaker E: Hi, I'm Tick. I use he, she, they pronouns. And today I'll be playing Niall, who uses he, they pronouns. He cooks, he cleans, he eats people, and has an alien parasite living in his spine, slowly consuming him. What more could you ask for? [00:03:04] Speaker F: Hi, I'm Alyssa. My pronouns are they, them, and I play Laithrese, the fourth, Dampier, dandy, rogue, failed matricide with a negative one constitution modifier. Leith uses she any pronouns. [00:03:18] Speaker B: So who wants to tell me what happened last time? [00:03:22] Speaker E: There we go. Sorry, I was muted that entire time. Wow, no wonder everyone didn't laugh at all the jokes I was making. I just thought I wasn't funny. [00:03:29] Speaker F: No, we could hear you. [00:03:30] Speaker E: No, you couldn't. I saw I was on mute. You can try being an asshole to Dusty because they have to live with you, but I don't. Anyways, last time on this game that we played together, we had a lot of lore dumps. Like, we got the. We got the lore dump of a sentry over here. We got to learn Graveling's backstory. We got to learn Nile's backstory. We got to learn Schism's backstory. The Poors are finally getting rights in this house. It's amazing. We had a nice little talk about everything. Graveling's horrible. Honestly, I kind of want to protect. You have to listen. Actually I'm not telling you anything. This is how I get our viewer retention up. I tell you guys to listen to last episode because there was Lore. We all were then told by Lorelei that there was a way to isolate the mole. And we were like ooh, I guess we do have some fun. Different rumors to determine where this little mole is. Let's. Let's sniff them out. You know. Let's sniff them out. I hope you guys could hear my sniffing sound effects. I work really hard on them. Thank you, Alyssa. But we all decided to separate into three different groups. And then Grave Wing took two. Two bitches away to go make out with them in a. In a little makeup session. And the rest of us are going to do it because Aki is busy tonight. Thumbs up emoji. [00:04:43] Speaker A: Yippee. [00:04:46] Speaker E: Thumbs down me Ferris. [00:04:48] Speaker A: You can't stop me. [00:04:50] Speaker B: So yeah. We are first going to start with the. The team hanging out in salvation row. Yuri, Nile and Alistair. Okay. Specifically Lorelei said it was by the ruined house. [00:05:10] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:05:12] Speaker C: Bad vibes place. [00:05:13] Speaker B: Bad vibes place. [00:05:14] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:05:17] Speaker C: I'm pretty sure it was determined that Yuri was disguising as Lorelei. [00:05:21] Speaker B: Yes. [00:05:25] Speaker C: Were we given any informations to go or to just like look suspicious? [00:05:33] Speaker B: It was look like you're plotting and planning things looking suspicious maybe like poking around in the ruined house trying to find anything. [00:05:44] Speaker D: Doing the Mr. Burns hands. [00:05:49] Speaker C: Yeah. I think to Niall and Alistair you just say. I mean we gotta at least not look like we're expecting anything. [00:06:02] Speaker E: Well I suppose you should go inside and order something to eat. [00:06:07] Speaker C: And I think I would want to like try to go to the entrance we found last time to try to get in which was like. Like a side path or side alley or something. Right? [00:06:22] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:06:23] Speaker B: So things you would also notice as you're moving through the row. The row is in a much different place than it was when you were here couple of weeks ago. [00:06:33] Speaker E: You. [00:06:37] Speaker B: It's gotten worse. People are fighting in the streets. Many people have boarded up their homes and are trying to just wait at whatever is happening out. But people who work for Johnny patrol the streets and something needs to be done. You can tell that and hopefully you will be able to move soon. Can you give me all three of you give me perception checks. [00:07:13] Speaker A: About to. [00:07:13] Speaker E: See if I can. I don't like that. Perception checks are typically used for initiative as well because now I don't trust you. Like, ever. [00:07:24] Speaker B: That's the point. [00:07:24] Speaker A: Point? [00:07:26] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:07:27] Speaker C: I got a 25. [00:07:29] Speaker D: Is this related to investigation? [00:07:37] Speaker B: Theoretically, yes. [00:07:41] Speaker D: That is an 18 with a natural one. [00:07:46] Speaker C: Buddy. [00:07:49] Speaker D: I. I'm just, like, so busy trying to look suspicious. [00:07:56] Speaker B: Yeah, I mean, you're incredibly busy. Like, you're suspicious. And it's just the road doesn't feel safe. So it's also like, you could be jumped by somebody completely unrelated to all of this right now. And who knows? Yeah. So you are there for a while and nothing happens. No one shows up. You get away relatively unbothered. So that means we need to figure out what's happening to people in the tea house. [00:08:37] Speaker F: I'm pretty sure that it's the people who went to Coffin Walk who get attacked. Actually, Aubrey. [00:08:43] Speaker B: Possibly. Who knows? [00:08:45] Speaker E: Who knows? Maybe we just didn't notice them. [00:08:49] Speaker F: Yeah. So I think that before we head out, Leith is going to argue with Alouette about being bait. We'll say. I mean, I already have the scarf on me. I can just play Lorelei a much better in close quarters anyway. [00:09:15] Speaker A: No, because only the other groups need the masquerade scarf, because I can only make one disguise, and I have to use my things to make a third disguise. And there will just be not enough things to send without everyone else so that they are properly prepared for all of this. And besides, I don't think. I don't think that would be something that you would want to be doing it just in light of recent events and. And the last time someone was being bait for Lorelei was sort of related to recent events, and maybe you would be feeling bad about all of that. [00:10:07] Speaker F: If it's the same people who came for Lorelei last time, I'd be happy to be able to actually stab them this time for what they were doing. [00:10:22] Speaker A: That is, only if we see them coming and that they don't stab you first. [00:10:32] Speaker F: Leith really wants to say that she's more than capable of taking a stab wound, but recent events have suggested that maybe that is less than true. [00:10:46] Speaker A: Besides, there is every possibility that I am immune to death. We don't know if it's a. If it is simply Lord Valer, or if it is anyone with the curse. [00:11:03] Speaker F: Has no one in your family who's been cursed died. [00:11:10] Speaker A: Officially? Really hard to say. There's a lot of people who go missing and are presumed dead, or leave the city for personal reasons and never come back. We hold a lot of funerals. I just. I. [00:11:28] Speaker F: Recent events. [00:11:30] Speaker A: Yeah, I've never exactly given details or anything. Ever. So who knows? I'm not the one to ask, actually. [00:11:44] Speaker B: Nadia. Just sitting here sipping tea, just being like. So, dude, do all of these go like this? Yeah. [00:11:56] Speaker A: Thank you for coming with us, Nadia. I promise, nothing is going to happen. This is just precautions. [00:12:03] Speaker B: It's kind of nice to get out for a little bit. You know, I haven't been to something like this in a while. [00:12:11] Speaker A: I know how you feel. After this, I will be Zorai, and I can give you. Perhaps a Hunter's Bane if you are trained in survival. [00:12:31] Speaker F: I am not. That is one of, like, three skills I am not trained in. [00:12:35] Speaker A: I can give you the Bloodseeker speak, and then if something happens, you can be very aggressive about it. [00:12:48] Speaker F: Leith sort of pouts a little bit and fidgets with her fingers and then pulls off a ring and says, fine, but if you're playing Lorelei, then you should take this and hands over the ring of observation. Nadia and I will wait nearby at another table and watch. And Nadia can inform everyone else if our group is the one with them all. [00:13:24] Speaker A: I am so certain it won't be us, because. Because this seems like a terrible place for an ambush, you know? [00:13:34] Speaker F: I mean, truly. Coffin Walk or that cursed house are certainly what I would choose. [00:13:41] Speaker A: They are ripe for ambushing. [00:13:46] Speaker F: Do you have some way to detect poison or something if they try to poison her tea? [00:13:53] Speaker A: No, but, you know, I can just not drink it. And you know what? I kind of have. I can just pour in my little sip sips, and that would be that. I'll just drink that instead. Chalice. My chalice. Content of my chalice. Then I can sit, drink, and they'll be like, oh, look at her having tea. And potentially, it'll be very refreshing. [00:14:29] Speaker F: All right, fine. [00:14:34] Speaker A: You will know if anything goes wrong, not only because you'll be looking, but also because, you know, and I will flick the little shared earring we have. Besides, I have more tricks at my speed than you may sink. And I will not actually dawn illusory disguise yet, because I think it's a very short turn. It's only an hour, but I will do it when it seems appropriate. [00:15:02] Speaker B: So, yeah, it's the. The tea house is. It's a slow day. You know, people usually actually spend more of their nights here than the actual days, so it's super easy to grab a couple of tables for Nadia and Leith to be far enough apart, like, far enough away from Lou that it makes it look like you're not together. Not that you are together. [00:15:30] Speaker A: Of course we're not. Together? [00:15:32] Speaker B: Of course. Silly me. [00:15:35] Speaker A: Gosh, Aubrey, why would you even bring that up? [00:15:40] Speaker B: I don't know. [00:15:41] Speaker A: Not like together together, just like together, like. Like people who know. [00:15:45] Speaker B: In the same room together. [00:15:46] Speaker A: Yeah, we're like, just physically close, but like strangers geographically. [00:15:52] Speaker B: Yeah, as physically as close as strangers would be. [00:15:54] Speaker F: Yeah. [00:15:54] Speaker E: I'm gonna bludgeon you all to death with very blunt spoons. [00:16:02] Speaker B: Okay, you know, keep away from the bit for a second. Unrelated, just staring at stats. Nadia has more health than life. [00:16:13] Speaker F: What. What level is she? [00:16:17] Speaker A: She's like level six girl. [00:16:23] Speaker B: Not by much. By like seven. [00:16:25] Speaker A: She's two levels under you and has more hp. Leave. [00:16:33] Speaker F: Okay, wait. I didn't update it in Foundry, so maybe I am actually better. [00:16:38] Speaker B: You have one more help than she does. [00:16:43] Speaker A: This is why you're not allowed to be bait. [00:16:46] Speaker F: I don't know what you mean. [00:16:51] Speaker B: So, yes, perception checks from everyone. [00:16:57] Speaker F: Not bad. [00:16:58] Speaker A: Good job. Good job, Belle. 30 even. 30. [00:17:05] Speaker F: 34. [00:17:09] Speaker B: So it's almost two hours after you arrive and have settled in and are drinking tea when. Lou, you finally notice it. Three people in, decked out in a way that they don't want their identities to be seen, slip into the bar. Two of them move as if to do some sort of pincer maneuver. One coming in from each side and one sort of falling back, as if waiting to see what will happen. And Leif, you have the highest initiative, so you get to go first. [00:18:08] Speaker A: Did you use Inej for Nadia's little icon? [00:18:12] Speaker B: Yes. [00:18:13] Speaker A: Incredible. I love her even more now. I take back my. My answer from the Q and A. Sorry, Juniper late. Or. Nadia is my new favorite. [00:18:25] Speaker D: Wow. [00:18:27] Speaker B: Someone make the meme. [00:18:31] Speaker A: Friendship with juniper over. Nadia is my new best friend. [00:18:37] Speaker F: I think that Leith will whisper to Nadia to send out the message and try to look uninvolved, and we'll move to intercept the. Nope. Move to intercept the nearest. [00:19:02] Speaker A: How many other patrons are in this tea house? [00:19:07] Speaker B: A small amount. There's probably like, maybe not counting the staff, like seven or eight other patrons. No matter what happens, you're going to make a scene. [00:19:19] Speaker A: Sure, yeah. [00:19:23] Speaker B: It just may not be the scene that these people wanted. [00:19:27] Speaker F: I think that Leif is going to move in front of this first person and sort of. Tilt their hip so that their sword, the Idrisi family sword, is on plain view from under their cross cloak and say, I suggest you try this some other place in time. [00:19:57] Speaker B: The man will lean in and smile at you. His breath is rancid, mix of tobacco, alcohol, and something else. And it says, and I suggest getting out of Our way only want the girl. [00:20:23] Speaker F: Great. Then can I count that as a feint and then try to stab him with my corset dagger? [00:20:35] Speaker B: Yes, you can. You know. [00:20:44] Speaker F: It'S. 31 deception. Versus their perception dc. [00:21:08] Speaker B: Oh, yeah, that's. That is a. That is a success. [00:21:13] Speaker F: Okay, cool. Yeah. And then I will. With the other hand, that was sort of still concealed a little bit by her cloak, I will pull forth the smaller dagger and just try to stab them in the chest. I will reroll because that is a natural one. It's 32. [00:21:35] Speaker B: To hit is a critical hit. [00:21:39] Speaker F: Hell, yeah. It's unfortunate that I'm not hitting. Oh, I was just gonna say it's unfortunate if I'm not hitting them with the family sword. But needs must. [00:21:52] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:21:56] Speaker F: So that is. 19 damage doubled is 38. [00:22:09] Speaker B: Yeah, sounds about right. Yeah. You get a. Where do you. Where do you strike? [00:22:18] Speaker F: I mean, it's been so successful in the past. I think she just sort of goes for the throat and tries to pierce it with his very thin dagger. [00:22:31] Speaker B: You're. This is not as successful as it was, you know, the first time you did it, but you do manage to get a pretty good hit in as he moves back. Just, you know, enough that you don't, like, get him right through the jugular, but you open up a pretty decent slice sort of somewhere between his collarbone and his neck as he pulls back. And that's what, three actions? [00:23:02] Speaker F: That is three actions. I will flag that because they're off guard because of my fainting. They have a minus two to perception and reflex. [00:23:14] Speaker B: Hell yeah. All right. And you watch as they are off guard, do you? [00:23:21] Speaker A: You can also activate the bloodseeker beak if you want to. I think it's an action, though. So I don't know if you have an action left that's hitting an off guard creature with an affixed weapon. [00:23:35] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:23:37] Speaker F: The reaction is empty, right? Yeah. I think it just happens then. [00:23:42] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:23:44] Speaker F: So, yeah, an extra 1D4 precision. And if you did sneak attack damage, they also take 1D4 persistent bleed. [00:23:51] Speaker B: Hell yeah. [00:23:52] Speaker A: Give it some LA for a reason. [00:23:54] Speaker F: The extra 1D4 precision will be a 2 extra damage and the persistent bleed is a 4. Hell yeah. [00:24:06] Speaker B: All right. And that'll bring us to the. The one in the background. It is this form with a long cloak and a long hood pulled over their face. It is hard to tell much about them, but you watch as they reach underneath their cloak, come out with a throwing dagger, and throw it at you, Lou, not Lorelai. [00:24:39] Speaker A: They don't know that Yet. [00:24:40] Speaker B: Yeah. And they are going to start off with a faint. [00:24:46] Speaker A: Okay. [00:24:49] Speaker B: And that is a 22 versus your perception. DC. [00:24:54] Speaker A: Which is my perception. [00:24:56] Speaker B: Plus 10. [00:24:57] Speaker A: Plus 10. Use a 22. [00:25:00] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:25:01] Speaker A: I have a. I believe a 25 then. [00:25:04] Speaker E: Yeah. [00:25:04] Speaker B: You are not off guard. [00:25:07] Speaker A: I was ready. [00:25:09] Speaker B: You were ready. [00:25:11] Speaker A: I see Laythe do this all the time. [00:25:15] Speaker F: Are you watching me when I fight? That's gay. [00:25:18] Speaker A: I know. [00:25:21] Speaker B: And that is a 26 to hit. [00:25:23] Speaker A: You just barely hits. Just barely. [00:25:28] Speaker B: No, That it is going to be 14 piercing damage as this dagger embeds itself in your shoulder. And then I need a fortitude save. [00:25:45] Speaker A: Why do you always do this to me? Dice, every dice, all the dice, they're like, you get one good roll and then we betray you forever. Do I want to try to reroll this already? Probably, yeah. I'll use a hero point. [00:26:05] Speaker B: What the heck? [00:26:09] Speaker A: Much better. 30. [00:26:15] Speaker B: 30. You can definitely tell as the wound burns that these blades are poisoned. But you manage to kill pull it out before it really does anything too much. And for their last action, they're going to attempt to hide, essentially like fall back into the crowd. [00:26:40] Speaker A: Okay. [00:26:44] Speaker B: Right. They fall back into the crowd and you lose sight of them for the moment, you'll have to spend an action to seek them. [00:26:55] Speaker A: Okay. [00:26:57] Speaker B: L. It is that. [00:26:58] Speaker A: Your turn. We. We need to identify these people. It's not enough to just not get killed by them. We also cannot let them get away without us knowing who they are. So I think in that regards, I'm gonna call that out too late. That we need to know who they are. And then I'm going to. Oh, wait, I'm pretending to be Lullaby. We need to know who they are. Does Lorelai usually fight with like a dagger or a sword or. [00:27:47] Speaker B: Neither either does both. [00:27:51] Speaker A: Okay, then I will grab a sword. My sword. And I'm going to. I'm going to exploit vulnerability, but I'm not going to do. Do it with my bell. I'm going to do it with my chalice. Sort of like subtly under like my cloak or something like that. So let's try that first. Oh, okay. Okay. So that's gonna be a 14 point plus. That's going to be a 31 to exploit. [00:28:42] Speaker B: 31 to exploit. [00:28:44] Speaker A: Yes. The. The muscly one, not the one late fighting, the one by itself. [00:28:50] Speaker B: Yeah, that is going to be a success. [00:28:53] Speaker A: Okay, this. Is it a mortal weakness or is it personal antithesis? [00:29:00] Speaker B: It would be a personal antithesis. [00:29:01] Speaker F: Okay. [00:29:04] Speaker A: And. Sorry, one second. I got a lot of stuff going on. Okay. Non humanoid creature, so sympathetic Vulnerabilities does not apply to all of them. Good to know. And that does not apply right now either. Okay. And so we'll run up. Run up to this guy and I'm going to try to attack him or them in a way that I want to try to reveal their face. Like slash with a sword and try to like, cut off like whatever the face color runes are or whatever I can do here. [00:30:03] Speaker B: Right. [00:30:03] Speaker F: All right. [00:30:03] Speaker A: All right. That is. I'm not gonna argue with it, but that is the third one in a row I've rolled up that number, which is great for me. So that's going to be a 29 to hit. [00:30:23] Speaker B: A 29 to hit. 29 will hit. [00:30:26] Speaker A: Okay. Oh, gosh. Damage. I act like I have played this in a hot minute. [00:30:34] Speaker B: We haven't done combat in a few weeks. [00:30:36] Speaker F: Yeah. [00:30:38] Speaker A: That'S going to be. [00:30:41] Speaker F: Nine. [00:30:45] Speaker A: Hang on, hang on, hang on. Okay. Nine plus six. So that's gonna be 15 damage of the piercing variety. [00:30:57] Speaker B: 15 damage. You get him and go. Strike. [00:31:03] Speaker A: Do I get the face? Yeah. [00:31:06] Speaker B: The. You would not have recognized this person before. They seem to be come from the generic goon factory. [00:31:16] Speaker C: Wow. [00:31:16] Speaker A: I didn't know we had motor face in this town. Excellent. And I think I have one action left. I'm going to. No, I can't do that right now. So I'm going to. Just try to eyeball that hidden person if I can. [00:31:45] Speaker B: Yeah. Spend. Need a perception check. [00:31:51] Speaker A: Oh, hello. [00:31:52] Speaker B: Hello. You know what? [00:31:54] Speaker A: I. I apologize for insulting you earlier, Dice. I didn't mean it. You're wonderful and I love you so much. 34. [00:32:02] Speaker B: 34. Yeah, 34 is higher than what they rolled to stealth. So, yeah, you. You're able to pick them out and point them out so you know they're. They're no longer considered hiding anymore. [00:32:20] Speaker A: Okay. I will say there's one over there and I don't recognize this one. I might have to do something drastic. That's directed. At least. [00:32:37] Speaker F: I'm learning from our mistakes. [00:32:39] Speaker A: And I'm not using names. [00:32:46] Speaker F: Yeah, well, we're already making a scene. [00:32:48] Speaker A: Might as well you insist. They did rudely interrupt. [00:32:55] Speaker B: They did. Incredibly. Now it is the one that you just stabbed Lou. It is its turn. He reaches and unsheathes his sword. It appears to be very common. Make just a common longsword that has seen plenty of use and will strike out at you with it. Create a second action. [00:33:20] Speaker F: Sure. [00:33:23] Speaker B: For 33. [00:33:25] Speaker A: Yeah, that'll hit. [00:33:30] Speaker B: Then you take 15 slashing damage. And then you watch as with almost a practiced ease A soldier's ease. He goes from slicing you with the sword and coming in with this sort of armored bracer that he has on his other hand for his last action to create an opening, which is the move and sort of throws you off. And mechanically, you have a minus two status penalty to their AC against the next strike made before their next turn. [00:34:15] Speaker A: Gotcha. [00:34:19] Speaker B: And yeah, that is their turn. And, well, like, very much like his fellow, he is going to do roughly the same thing to you, Leith. He's going to start off with unsheathing his Longsword, striking for a 34 that'll. [00:34:44] Speaker F: Hit. [00:34:47] Speaker B: For 20 damage, and spending his last action using that armor gauntlet to create an opportunity. And he will take that lead damage roll his recovery check. He does not recover and continues to bleed. Good. It is now Nadia's turn. She's going to do what you said. She's going to spend her first action to move outside and second action to send off the message, and third action to open her kinetic gate. [00:35:30] Speaker F: Now, two of those sounded like she was doing what I said. That last one, though. [00:35:38] Speaker B: She'S far enough away to start zapping people. And that'll bring us to the top of the round. With you later. [00:35:51] Speaker F: Yeah. How is my guy looking? [00:35:56] Speaker B: Yeah, he hasn't hit bloodied yet. [00:35:59] Speaker F: I'm just gonna mosey on away from him to flank the one who is with Lou. [00:36:06] Speaker B: He's gonna use his reaction to reactive strike. [00:36:09] Speaker F: He is not. I am stepping. [00:36:12] Speaker B: Oh, you're stepping? [00:36:14] Speaker F: Because I get 20ft of step. [00:36:16] Speaker A: Jesus Christ. [00:36:18] Speaker F: Oh, my God. [00:36:20] Speaker A: Does it even start stepping at that point? Or are you just like, whoosh? What? [00:36:27] Speaker C: That's how she keeps avoiding all these questions. [00:36:34] Speaker F: And then the noise suddenly started for me too, like it wasn't playing the tavern noises. And now it is, which is very strange. [00:36:43] Speaker B: Yeah, it's. The map is doing that. I don't know why. And then we'll get occasionally just stop doing them for a bit, and then we'll start up again. And I'm like, yeah, this is the weirdest loop. [00:36:55] Speaker F: Okay, so we are flanking this one. Do they? And I'm probably gonna have to kill them, so I guess it matters a little less. [00:37:07] Speaker A: No. [00:37:07] Speaker F: Okay, do they have a purse or anything on them that's, like, visible? [00:37:15] Speaker B: Maybe enter their cloak. [00:37:17] Speaker F: Yeah, okay, that's not worth it. I will just attempt to stab them in the back, this time with the actual Adrisi shortsword. So that is a 29 to hit. [00:37:34] Speaker B: 29 is gonna hit. [00:37:36] Speaker F: Okay, cool. 24 damage. [00:37:43] Speaker B: All right. [00:37:47] Speaker F: And I Will go ahead and try and stab them again. I think it's. Yeah, just a sort of firm swipe with the short sword and then sort of driving in with a follow up, which almost certainly misses because that is a six on the dice. So that would be 19 to hit. [00:38:17] Speaker B: That certainly does miss. [00:38:19] Speaker F: Yeah, Okay, I figured. But that is my turn. [00:38:27] Speaker B: Yeah. The. The rogish one that's keeping their distance. You hear them call out in this magically altered voice. You can immediately tell this is not their natural voice. You know, the same way one can tell when you hear a computer altered voice. And it says to the. To hired muscle to hurry up and get it over with. Using their chastising command, giving them bonuses to their attack and damage. And their last action is going to throw a knife at you. Louis. That is a 37. [00:39:25] Speaker A: Oh, that would be a crit. [00:39:29] Speaker B: All right. And I need that fortitude. Save one more time and that's gonna be another 20 damage for you. [00:39:37] Speaker A: How's the 23 sound? [00:39:40] Speaker B: A 23 is a failure. But you only move up to stage one. You're gonna take 1D6 persistent poison damage. And you are. And you are. Where is it? Doomed one. [00:40:06] Speaker A: Oh, okay. Normal, normal things to happen here. [00:40:09] Speaker F: All right. [00:40:10] Speaker A: That's fine. Don't worry about it. Okay. Okay. Okay. It's my turn, right? [00:40:20] Speaker B: Yes, it would be your turn. [00:40:21] Speaker A: Okay, great. Okay. Lou is going to. Lou's going to call out loudly and recite backwards one of her favorite poems by Yuri's ex, but in reverse, which is how well memorized it is. So it sounds strange and mysterious. And I'm going to attempt a occultism check versus the will DC of any enemy within 30ft. [00:41:00] Speaker F: So. [00:41:01] Speaker A: Of an enemy. Sorry. Of an enemy. And I would like to. The roguish one. They're within 30. Right? That's more like it. Let's go, baby. Okay. That was going to be a big number. 36. Against their will. DC. [00:41:24] Speaker B: That is a critical success. [00:41:26] Speaker A: Okay. They are confused and frightened for one round. They're frightened one and confused for one round as this backwards poetry reading fills them with dread. From. For. For knowledge beyond mortal comprehension. [00:41:46] Speaker B: Question. [00:41:46] Speaker D: Is it like the words backwards or is it like reversed audio backwards? [00:41:53] Speaker A: I think she's just like. Instead of root of reciting the poem from the top to the end, she's reciting it from the last word to the first word. Zel should be very flattered. She knows her poetry forwards and backwards. And while confused and frightened. I think we're going to. No, I'm just Gonna have to count on that to, to work here, I think, because I, I, I need one more action. I don't have to despair. And she's going to like, call out theatrically. What, what is this terrible thing? Why are you attacking me? These, these strangers, these masked figures, whoever are you. What, what terrible thing have I done to be assaulted in this place of tea? And is just trying to persuade the, the onlookers that this is a bad thing happening to us by them. We'll probably even throw a little extra on and being like, is this the safety the high priest, Priest promised us? I feel unsafe. We are in danger here. Help. Let's go. Can I, can I try to, I don't know, persuade the people, or are they just persuaded by me? If it helps, I have half, half truths and I can mislead people to certain conclusions. [00:43:39] Speaker B: Yeah, yeah. Give me that persuasion check. [00:43:41] Speaker A: All right, baby, let's go. [00:43:44] Speaker B: Most people are just startled by sudden violence in the tea house. [00:43:49] Speaker A: So am I. What an alarming thing to be happening here. [00:43:54] Speaker B: My panic. [00:43:54] Speaker A: I've never in my life seen this. Yeah, baby, coming back, coming back to me. That's gonna be, I think a 28. Yeah, 28. [00:44:13] Speaker B: A28. Yeah. People are slowly starting to move. It's going to take a second because everyone's a little bit stunned. [00:44:19] Speaker A: Yeah. I mostly just want, like, when they leave this place for them to be speaking out against the Cygnus and being like, how could he do this in a public establishment? You know, that's my real goal here. If they do anything else, like, that's just a bonus. I just want them to be, to, to spread the word of this egregious overreach of power and the secret police that, that Cygnus is apparently adapting. And I'm going to, I guess, defend myself by stabbing this man. Oh, no, I'm not. I'm gonna. You gotta have a sip. I'm gonna have a sip. Sorry. We're gonna have a good sip here. Yeah, we're just gonna have a sip and not a drain. So that's gonna be two plus half my level so I can do math. That's 10 temporary hit points. And then because I am fancy fancy with the, the chalice now. Sorry, my turns are taking for bloody ever. I also get. Oh, plus my charisma modifier. Beautiful. So that's not 10, that is going. [00:45:44] Speaker B: To be. [00:45:48] Speaker A: 14 temporary hit points. So she says all this and then she takes a very dramatic sip from the chalice, like, oh, what have they done? Sorry. Lorelai, to use your image in this way. That's me. That's all. [00:46:06] Speaker B: You really are besmirching her in the worst way. [00:46:12] Speaker A: It had to be done. It's for the greater good. [00:46:18] Speaker B: Lou, you are going to take three poison damage and I need you to roll me a recovery check. Just a flat D10 or not flat D10, flat D20. [00:46:28] Speaker A: Okay, that is a natural 19. [00:46:35] Speaker B: Then you recover. [00:46:37] Speaker A: Boom. And plucks out the dagger, drops it on the ground like a mic drop. I haven't used this dice in a really long time. And I think it is. Thought I was mad at it and is making up for that now. It's my bail dice. I have missed it. To be fair. It's beautiful. [00:47:06] Speaker B: You're still doomed and still technically poisoned. But you are. It hasn't moved up to the next stage yet. Well, so yeah, it's. We are going to start with. Well we're gonna do. He is going to take a five foot step so he's no longer in flank and then he is going to swing at you. He's been paid to go for Lorelei, so he's going for Lorelei. Anything else is extra. And that's 30. [00:47:53] Speaker A: Yeah, that hits. [00:47:57] Speaker B: All right. And that is 12 slashing damage. And then for his last action, he puts up his shield or his armored gauntlet. [00:48:04] Speaker A: Sorry, I did my max. I typed it wrong. And I almost put. I had 142 temp HP. [00:48:12] Speaker B: So powerful that like. [00:48:14] Speaker A: Oh my God. Doomy. Where did you come from? [00:48:20] Speaker B: Me living only on temp HP and nothing else. [00:48:23] Speaker A: That's all she needed, baby. [00:48:28] Speaker B: And yet again we're going to see something very similar yet again with this one. Take a five foot step swing for a 24. [00:48:45] Speaker A: Miss. [00:48:46] Speaker B: Miss A. You're ready for that one. And Spence's last action to raise his shield takes some more bleeding damage and does not recover. So he's continuing to bleed. [00:48:58] Speaker A: Goodness. Did you come here with harmful intense. You're not here to kill me, are you? [00:49:08] Speaker B: And it is Nadia's turn. We'll take a couple. Take one action to step back into tea house. And then is gonna start blasting. She is gonna take two elemental blasts at this. This the closest one to her. The first attack is going to miss and then the second attack is going to hit. You watch as these concentrated bolts of air and lightning sort of just start to zip around this tea house. The first attack misses. She goes. I'm still getting the hang of it. And then second attack gets it and yeah. Bring it back to you. Laith. [00:50:01] Speaker F: I hate the idea of leaving Lou with these two goons and them having a straight line to Nadia. However, it feels like the fastest way to end this fight would be to take out the one who is calling out the shots. So I am going to feint an attack against the muscle that I have been engaged with, the one who is between Lou and I. That is an. 30 against their perception. D.C. [00:50:43] Speaker B: That is going to be a success. [00:50:45] Speaker F: Oh, okay. Well, I get a free. The reason I was hoping to get a crit, but the reason I did that instead of just stepping is that I get a free step. So I will take my 20 foot step towards the. Towards the more roguish one and I'll actually just move behind him and I will sort of hiss at them like, you really ought to come back at another time. And do they have anything like any pouches or purses or anything that looks like it could be identifiable on their body? [00:51:33] Speaker B: Yeah, there. There is something. [00:51:37] Speaker F: Sweet. I am going to use stab and snag, which is you seek to stab them and slice their purse strings with a single movement. [00:51:49] Speaker E: Oh, shit. [00:51:50] Speaker F: That also gives you a stride. Oh, well, I didn't that so it's fine. And yeah, I will strike them and then I can attempt a thievery attack. Thievery check to steal. That is a. 29 to hit. [00:52:17] Speaker B: 29 is gonna hit. [00:52:19] Speaker F: Okay. And my thievery check is 31. [00:52:27] Speaker B: 31. Yeah, you hit, you do this and you slice the purse strings. This coin purse falls into your hands and you immediately look at is embroidered with a four leaf clover. [00:52:50] Speaker A: A. What's that mean? Baris clover. [00:52:57] Speaker F: Oh, no. [00:52:58] Speaker A: Our lieutenant. Damn. [00:53:03] Speaker F: Got jealous of graveling. But yeah, that also does 17 damage to them from the actual stab. [00:53:18] Speaker A: Side note, we should probably not kill some people in the middle of the tea house. That's bad for the optics. [00:53:27] Speaker B: You were. You were in the tea house in Darklight Bazaar. [00:53:31] Speaker A: And the optics are still bad. [00:53:36] Speaker B: Yeah, we. [00:53:38] Speaker A: We. We sort of started the actual FL. Physical part first. Like they started this fight, but we did launch the actual physical engagement. [00:53:52] Speaker B: So Leith, you are unfortunately right next to her. So. And because of confused, she has to spend all of her actions to strike or cast offensive spells. So she is going to attack three times. [00:54:07] Speaker A: RIP. [00:54:11] Speaker B: Well, unfortunately, two of the three rolls are dog. [00:54:16] Speaker A: That's four. [00:54:16] Speaker B: 26 hit you. [00:54:18] Speaker F: It would, but I will nimble dodge out of the way. [00:54:21] Speaker A: Yeah, I did not kill my maybe girl. [00:54:24] Speaker B: Mailers are 16 and a 13. [00:54:27] Speaker F: Those both fail. [00:54:29] Speaker B: Yeah, that's clever's entire turn And Lou. [00:54:36] Speaker A: Right. Okay. We need. Lou will probably call out to like Nadia and Lathe just incapacitate please. And then is going to. I think that all of the. The stabbing has been getting to Lou and less Lou and more the bird. And the last blow she took just snagged against the compact mirror she carries that holds all of her other faces that she can wear. And it cracks the mirror and splits out three other Lorelei around her. So we're going to just look at this dude next to me and gonna whisper in his ear love poetry. And I'm gonna use disturbing knowledge on one of the muscle guys. [00:56:00] Speaker F: Wow. Leif steps away 20ft and you're off whispering love poetry to someone else. [00:56:06] Speaker A: It's specifically from Zazzle's book that is all about how much of a dirty dog liar Yurius. So it's less love poetry, more anti love poetry. You know how it is. Oh no, that's okay. It's okay. I forgive you, Dice. I forgive you. That is only gonna be a 23. [00:56:33] Speaker B: Make sure that's not 23 versus his will. It succeeds by one. [00:56:40] Speaker A: Heck yes. Frightened one. Then as gets roasted. Basically about what a terrible lover he is. And that's. Oh shoot. I didn't do the other thing. So I actually have lots of actions I forgot gonna. He doesn't look like dead. Dead. Right. [00:57:07] Speaker B: You. [00:57:08] Speaker A: The. [00:57:08] Speaker B: The one on your left really looks. That one is bloodied and very. It looks very bad. [00:57:16] Speaker A: Can I attack him with like the butt of my rapier? [00:57:19] Speaker B: Yeah, you can make a non lethal attack. [00:57:21] Speaker A: Okay. I don't want to kill. I just want. That might do. That's gonna be a 25. [00:57:30] Speaker B: 25 will hit. [00:57:32] Speaker A: Okay, that's gonna be. Hang on. Math, math. 16 damage. [00:57:45] Speaker B: 16. That is enough to put him into unconsciousness. [00:57:48] Speaker A: Great. Oh, I still got another action. Gotta aim the sword at the other guy. I hope it's the guy that I whispered things to. But if not, just give him a little wink and say you're next, buddy. Oh, actually no, that's going to be fine. That's a 25 even with the map. [00:58:14] Speaker B: 25 hits. [00:58:17] Speaker A: Okay. This is the best Lou has ever done ever at anything in her life. And she's pretending to be. [00:58:24] Speaker F: I was going to say presumably to dress up to someone else. [00:58:27] Speaker A: The power of Lorelei. That's going to be 17 to damage piercing. [00:58:33] Speaker B: Yeah. I mean it. It hits. They are still standing. [00:58:36] Speaker A: That's okay. That's all. That's all I got going for. For me. [00:58:41] Speaker F: Which is a lot. [00:58:42] Speaker A: That's a lot. Going for me. Let's go. But that's my all my turns or actions. [00:58:53] Speaker B: Hey there is. It is now his turn. And we're gonna start off everything with a long sword strike. That is he is. Things are the plane is falling apart. So is he the prefer 19 to hit you? Yeah, I didn't think that's gonna work. And we're gonna try one more time. Nope. For a plan is truly well and falling apart for a natural one. [00:59:25] Speaker A: Buddy. [00:59:28] Speaker B: The card is called pin prick. He takes one bleed. [00:59:33] Speaker A: Well, he stabbed himself. Go keeper Cut. [00:59:37] Speaker B: And that's gonna miss. And the third action is gonna raise the shield. Other one's unconscious. And oh, the other one is also still bleeding. So he may bleed out on the floor. [00:59:50] Speaker F: Ripper rooneys. Nothing we could have done. [00:59:54] Speaker A: Oh. [00:59:57] Speaker B: Still bleeding. It is now Nadia's turn. And Nadia is going to continue one action move in two more action elemental blasts. The first one is going to hit, but the second one will not. Still getting a handle on all the. [01:00:20] Speaker A: Things she gets a double thumbs up. [01:00:24] Speaker B: Yeah. You're doing great return. And Leith, it is now your turn. [01:00:31] Speaker F: Yeah. Leith is going to spend in action grabbing the coin purse that she cut from the floor and pocketing that. Is clover still confused or are they. [01:00:48] Speaker A: Like I think it was? [01:00:51] Speaker B: Was it to the end of lose next turn or was was confused for. [01:00:57] Speaker A: One round and then frightened one. So I assume that's all done by now. [01:01:00] Speaker B: The confused st. [01:01:03] Speaker F: Okay, so le will sort of hiss at them like could you not have had your lover spat alone instead of involving the rest of the group and use that as an attempted fate Or I don't know. I guess that's a bon ma. But you know, she will just say that I'm not going to do anything with it mechanically. She's just say in that. And then going to attempt to stab her. A 12 3. That is a 33 to hit. [01:01:40] Speaker B: 33 is going to hit. [01:01:45] Speaker F: That is 22 damage. [01:01:49] Speaker A: Don't kill her. We got her. [01:01:56] Speaker F: I was just rolling damage for no reason. [01:01:59] Speaker A: Optimism. [01:02:00] Speaker F: Yeah. I will attempt to hit her again non lethally. If we're even anywhere close to that. I can't imagine that we are. And that's only a five on the dice. So that does not hit. [01:02:17] Speaker A: Do we have another hero boy? [01:02:22] Speaker B: Yeah, we do. [01:02:26] Speaker A: Ah. [01:02:28] Speaker F: I mean. How's she looking? [01:02:30] Speaker B: Pretty good. You've only really hit her once. [01:02:33] Speaker F: Yeah, that's what I thought. So I will not use that right now. But I think that some of the blood from Leith's wounds have sort of Seeped down her arm and on her to the filigree of the Adrisi family sword. And as she like sort of swings and clutches it, it activates gift of life. So I'm going to give myself some heelys and that is my turn. [01:03:05] Speaker B: Yeah. [01:03:05] Speaker A: So helpful for you. [01:03:11] Speaker B: Things have well and truly taken to turn for these plants and lover is going to spend one action to step and then is going to spend the rest of her actions to book it the out of there. She's got like a good solid like yeah, like 30ft movement. So a good solid like 60ft away. She can get. Bring us to Lou. [01:03:49] Speaker A: She. You said she's 60ft out of range. [01:03:53] Speaker B: Yeah. She has left the tea house. [01:03:56] Speaker A: Okay. Then I will call, call out too lay catch her please. And then look at the guy who's not unconscious and bleeding out and say you can either take your friend and get medical attention or you can stay here and join him on the floor. Only intimidation fanning herself in the background. The hottest Lou has ever been and was when she's not herself because. [01:04:38] Speaker B: Because the way you know and Lou's very good portrayal gets, you could take. [01:04:42] Speaker A: A plus one 32 and this may already be the guy who's frightened as well. I don't know. [01:04:52] Speaker B: There. There's a moment where he looks like he going to fight and the hand on his sword goes slack a little bit as he lets it drop and steps back and will say it's fine. I'm not getting paid enough anyways for this shot. [01:05:13] Speaker A: I thought so. Quick confirmation before you go. Who is it that paid you? [01:05:22] Speaker B: The runner? Don't know her name. [01:05:26] Speaker A: Good enough. Take your friend, get out of here and if you come by again, we will not be so kind the second time. [01:05:35] Speaker B: Oh well, believe me, we'll be on the first boat out of here. [01:05:39] Speaker A: I guess I'm going to use my rest of my actions to run. [01:05:45] Speaker B: Yeah. [01:05:46] Speaker A: So I'm going to drop money on the table as I go though to like make up for the mess. [01:05:52] Speaker B: Yeah, yeah. You all start to give chase. [01:05:56] Speaker A: If I get within 30ft, not this turn, it would have to be next turn. But if I get within 30ft, I do have something I would do that might stop the running. We'll. [01:06:06] Speaker B: We'll keep that in the pocket for a second because it is around this time that the, the other groups get that message that it's happening at the tea house. And was the message specifically to get there or just letting them know what's happening at the tea house? [01:06:27] Speaker F: I think it makes sense to call them here, like, for backup, if they can. [01:06:31] Speaker A: We were really scattered, so I don't know if it's realistic that they can get all the way over here, but they can at least head in this direction. [01:06:39] Speaker B: Yeah. So, yeah, you do this. And, Leith, you're also giving chase. [01:06:45] Speaker F: Yes. And I have 40ft of movement, so I should be able to overtake her. [01:06:49] Speaker A: Yeah. [01:06:50] Speaker E: Get her. [01:06:51] Speaker B: Yeah. And Nadia will bring up the rear because she's just happy to be here. [01:06:59] Speaker A: Nadia, you did so good. [01:07:02] Speaker B: And we'll figure out what happens next time as you give chase and everyone converges on your location. Tick, why don't you take us out? [01:07:14] Speaker E: Thank you, everyone, for listening to the wonderful episode of Goblets and Gays, where I proceeded to drink tea with Yuri at an abandoned house as we talked about our feelings.
