[00:01:30] Speaker B: Hello, everybody, and welcome back to Tyrant of the dark star. This is officially episode two, and we've got some combat ahead of us, so, yeah. [00:01:45] Speaker C: Hi, my name is Aki. Pronouns are she, her, and I am playing gravewing, who is our monk, Kinesis. That's it. That's all you get to know about her. Oh, also uses she her pronouns. [00:02:02] Speaker D: Hi, y'all, I'm Alyssa. My pronouns are they, them, and I play Laythadrisi, our dampier, dandy, and rogue, who uses she any pronouns? [00:02:15] Speaker E: It's me. Hello, I'm dusty. I use they he pronouns, and I am playing Eurudo, just eurydo for now. They also use they he pronouns, and they are going to be our blood hunter. [00:02:30] Speaker A: Hello, I am ferx. I'm ushe her pronouns. And I am playing the nephilim, I think is what they're called now, thaumaturge, who also uses she her pronouns. [00:02:44] Speaker F: Hello, I am Sparlock. I use he him pronouns. I am playing Alistair Whiskerfield, the renowned wizard and investigator who uses he him pronouns. [00:02:58] Speaker B: Also, now that everyone's done their introductions, does somebody want to give a quick rundown of what happened last time before everyone rolls initiative, please, please. [00:03:10] Speaker G: I need my job back. [00:03:11] Speaker B: You can have your job. [00:03:14] Speaker G: I got fired from my nine to five. I need this job to support my wife and kids, even though it's not a paid job. But last time, on this wonderful game that we play, we all finally met in the bellows of the jail, each of us being brought in individually after our wonderful backstories, which you should definitely listen to, actually. They're a lot of fun to record and watch. All got laid out onto the table. We had some discussions, some introductions, and meeting each other, some romance drama, as two exes sort of met together with a baffled cousin, staring like, wait, hold on. You two are like. You two, like, kissed or something? What the hell? A rat pointed at me and said I was a cannibal. And most people believed him. There was a. There's a woman in the background just kind of sitting there watching the shenanigans go down. Like St. My first rodeo, I have a backstory. Overall, very cool cast. Then the typical tick bait of a white haired anime man who was sitting in the back was like, hey, guys. I got a key. And after checking the queue, we were like, this actually seems pretty legit for an escape plan. So he gave us the info on, like, rotations and stuff like that. We unlocked the jail cell, and we scuttled out finding a couple of belongings that we could use to kind of help us on our escape. But other than that, we've been just kind of going, and it looks like we found some people, which is not really the best thing for an escape attempt from a jail. Whether it were going to kill us, I think so. I think we should probably roll initiative. [00:04:46] Speaker B: Yeah, yeah. We'll just glance over the part where Akkos is a cult leader. Yeah, yeah, yeah. [00:04:50] Speaker G: Listen, I'm not gonna. I'm not gonna slander my man. He's a sexy cult leader. He can get away with it. [00:04:55] Speaker B: All right, so if everybody could roll me some initiative. [00:05:03] Speaker E: Mine's 23. [00:05:04] Speaker B: 23. [00:05:05] Speaker A: All right, I got 26. [00:05:07] Speaker G: I rolled my new bell dice. [00:05:10] Speaker D: Twins doing not. You're not twins. You're cousins. Cousins doing so well. [00:05:16] Speaker G: Rolling good is a suggestion for this game, right? [00:05:20] Speaker C: I got a nine. [00:05:21] Speaker G: I also got a nine. Oh, my God, we're so sick. [00:05:24] Speaker A: Oh, my gosh. [00:05:26] Speaker C: It's because we're both poor, rich people of privilege. [00:05:32] Speaker A: We get a roll high. They got the pay to win. Our rules. [00:05:36] Speaker C: They do have the pay to win. I take you're a little bit on fire today. [00:05:44] Speaker B: Okay. [00:05:45] Speaker G: Thank you. [00:05:46] Speaker B: So we start at the top of the first round with one of the guards that you see in front of you. And just to remind everybody, it does appear that quite possibly things are happening in other parts of the prison. You can still kind of hear the sounds of fighting in the distance and the sound of someone, like, ringing an alarm bell. And this first guard says he brandishes a club and is going to be moving at one of you while saying, it'll be easier for you if you get back to your cells. And let's see, we've got Yuri. You look a little bit more intimidating, so we're gonna go with you. [00:06:35] Speaker E: Hey, this is not a level eight character. [00:06:38] Speaker A: Hopefully not again. [00:06:43] Speaker B: And so this first action steps up with this club and will strike with their second action. Wait, actually, first action, move up. Second action intimidate you with telling you to get back to yourselves or else, you know? Or else. And then I'm gonna roll that. Intimidation versus your will. DC. [00:07:15] Speaker E: Okay. [00:07:16] Speaker B: I don't think an eleven will intimidate you. So then they're just gonna strike out with the club for an 18. [00:07:26] Speaker E: Oh, yeah, that hits. [00:07:28] Speaker B: All right. For eight bludgeoning damage as this club just sort of comes down on your shoulder. [00:07:38] Speaker E: All right? [00:07:42] Speaker B: And that's the guards turn and that'll bring us to Lou. [00:07:47] Speaker A: Lou's gonna scream because Yuri just got hit with a club. This is violence. And she kind of blacked out through the last bit of violence she experienced. And I don't know how this class works, but that's fine because I don't think Lou does either, frankly. So we're going to pick an option. [00:08:07] Speaker B: You learn too. You're still learning. [00:08:09] Speaker A: We're going to pick an option and we're going to find out through learning whether or not this is actually a good way to start with things. So we're going to attempt to exploit vulnerability of this horrible person who is beating up my cousin. [00:08:23] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:08:25] Speaker A: Which is gonna involve an esoteric lore check against a standard DC for the creatures level. [00:08:34] Speaker B: Yep. [00:08:35] Speaker A: It's not very specific on that. [00:08:36] Speaker B: It's standard DC for the level. I sure. [00:08:42] Speaker A: Oh, I have that lore. Hold on. So I have to roll? [00:08:45] Speaker B: Yeah, you gotta roll that thing for me. [00:08:47] Speaker A: I haven't played Pathfinder in a while. [00:08:49] Speaker B: Okay, so it's a 15 for a level two. [00:08:52] Speaker A: So I have to be 15. [00:08:54] Speaker B: Yep. So you can tell me what this person is weak to and why. Is it the club you're holding? [00:09:07] Speaker A: Sorry, I am under stress, which means my ability to do math, already quite poor, has failed me. What was the. It was 15. [00:09:16] Speaker B: You said 15 is your DC. [00:09:18] Speaker A: Hey, I hit 15. That's enough, right? [00:09:20] Speaker B: Yeah. You get to exploit vulnerability on this person and they're. They're inexplicably weak to this club. [00:09:26] Speaker A: Yeah, yeah, yeah. I think what she does is she does a little bit of quick analogy, which is to say Baharati is the detective, and the detective is like a guard. And the guard is like a pig. Okay. And just grab some fur off of Alistar's head and just going and like. Like, spreads it across the. Whatever she's holding. Might be a club. [00:09:52] Speaker B: Yeah, I think it's a club. [00:09:53] Speaker A: It's a SAP. [00:09:53] Speaker B: Yes. [00:09:54] Speaker A: Basically a club. And so now you're weak to rat. [00:10:02] Speaker C: Hair. [00:10:04] Speaker A: Through the club. [00:10:06] Speaker B: Supposed to text that guy. [00:10:09] Speaker A: Maybe hit them, I guess. Okay. [00:10:15] Speaker B: This man has an allergy to animal fur. [00:10:19] Speaker A: That's right, that's right. Um, a 20. [00:10:23] Speaker B: A 20? Yeah, a 20 will hit a. [00:10:28] Speaker A: Cool, cool, cool, cool, cool. I'm just gonna hit the damage button. Cause I don't even know. [00:10:34] Speaker G: I. I saw a post about someone who, like, dusted their knuckles with peanut butter and then punched someone who had an allergy to deal extra damage. And that's giving me the same vibes as this. [00:10:45] Speaker A: So that's gonna be just straight up flat. Five non lethal damage. [00:10:51] Speaker B: You do some extra damage too, because. [00:10:55] Speaker A: I have identified this person's weakness. [00:10:57] Speaker B: Yes. I'm trying to figure out exactly how much that is. [00:11:03] Speaker A: Two plus half your level. [00:11:04] Speaker B: Yes. [00:11:05] Speaker A: Hey, we were at the same line at the same time. [00:11:06] Speaker B: Yep. So it'll be, uh, eight damage total. [00:11:09] Speaker A: Yeah. Oh, crap. I have another action. I don't want another action. [00:11:16] Speaker B: You can give someone guidance. [00:11:17] Speaker A: I have too many actions. [00:11:19] Speaker B: Uh, you give Yuri guidance. Yuri's standing right next to you. [00:11:22] Speaker A: Yes. Uh, Yuri hit better. Dodge faster. And that's gonna be guidance. [00:11:29] Speaker B: Mm hmm. [00:11:34] Speaker A: I'm done. Get me out of here. [00:11:35] Speaker B: Yep, yep, yep, yep. [00:11:37] Speaker A: That was stressful. [00:11:40] Speaker B: So that will bring us to another of the guards. This one Lou did just see what you did versus his co worker and is going to spin in action to step up to you. It's on lethal and is going to intimidate you by telling you it's better for you if you get back into your cell. I don't think a ten is gonna intimidate you. [00:12:12] Speaker A: I don't know. [00:12:13] Speaker B: Versus your will. DC. [00:12:16] Speaker A: DC. [00:12:17] Speaker B: Yep. Will plus ten. [00:12:19] Speaker A: Oh, then no. [00:12:20] Speaker B: Yep. And then we'll strike you for third action. I don't think a 14 is gonna hit you. [00:12:30] Speaker A: It's close though. [00:12:32] Speaker B: You do. [00:12:32] Speaker A: Maybe. They said that with such confidence, but it was real close. [00:12:35] Speaker B: Yeah, it was relatively close, but yeah. So that will be the end of this guard's turn and will bring us to Akkos. You watch as Akkos hefts this great club and for two actions is going to run a hand along it and cast magic weapon, therefore making the great club a one, striking. And then with their last action, they're going to hop on top of this table that you see next to you and bear down at this guard, but unfortunately not have enough actions to attack. And that'll bring us to Yuri. [00:13:32] Speaker E: Yuri looking at the guards in front of them and also looking at Akos doing magic weapons, like that's a nice trick. And in a swift motion is going to give one of their hands, kind of scrape it along one of their horns so their hand starts bleeding a little bit. And wiped that blood across the great club. And I want to do Crimson, right. [00:13:59] Speaker B: Yes. [00:14:00] Speaker E: I'm going to take double my health and damage. So I take four gp and this is going to turn to weapon and also does five fire damage. [00:14:08] Speaker B: Now. Hell yeah. [00:14:09] Speaker E: That's the great. Axe in my hand, lights ablaze. [00:14:15] Speaker B: Also works at the torch. [00:14:17] Speaker E: It sure does. Is that just one action? It is just one action, and I think it's only just, like, two extra damage. Well, the Crimson right ear strikes with the weapon. Deal. Additional damage of the chosen raids. Damage type equal to the number of damage dice times three. Oh, so it's plus three damage. [00:14:39] Speaker B: Yep. [00:14:40] Speaker E: That's nice. Um, can I try to. Wait, what's my. What's, uh, no, I don't have good intimidation. Never mind. I'm not gonna attempt to intimidate, but I'm gonna hit the guard in front of me. [00:14:58] Speaker B: Deception's not bad. You could always try to faint. [00:15:04] Speaker E: No. Okay, that's not. I don't think Yuri would try to intimidate, but they're not good. [00:15:11] Speaker B: So first action, Crimson right. Second action, attack. [00:15:16] Speaker E: You have. You have hero points, right? [00:15:18] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:15:18] Speaker B: You've got a hero point. [00:15:20] Speaker E: First row. Yeah, I'm gonna use a hero point for first roll of the game. [00:15:23] Speaker A: You also have guidance. [00:15:24] Speaker B: You do have guidance too. [00:15:26] Speaker E: No, that wouldn't have helped. [00:15:27] Speaker A: Okay. [00:15:30] Speaker E: But that's much better on a roll of 15 plus my great club, which is a plus eight. So that's gonna be a 23. [00:15:40] Speaker B: 23 hits. [00:15:42] Speaker E: Oh, yeah. And that's going to be four plus two, plus three. So nine damage total as Yorito hits this guard across the face with the great club. And after the swing, Yuri scouts of them is like, maybe you should go back to your cell too. I'm gonna attempt to swing again, even though this is probably a bad idea, because it's not finesse. Go for it. Well, that's a 17 on the dice. Minus five, plus. [00:16:29] Speaker B: 1919 will miss. [00:16:32] Speaker E: Okay, you're just leaving this great club in intimidation now, badly. But that is their turn. [00:16:43] Speaker B: Yeah. Okay, we'll find ourselves at another of the guards. Let's see, how close are they to anyone? Looks like they are going to have to spend. So this guard will spend two of his actions to close in on you, Lace, as he sees his other compatriots dealing with the rest of you, or as many of you as they can get to right now, and will swing at you with their club for their last action. And that is going to be an 18 to hit you. Laith, will that hit you? [00:17:30] Speaker D: It does not. AC is 19. [00:17:32] Speaker B: Hell, yeah. And so there'll be that guard. So we're coming to another one, and it's the one that is right in front of Akos. And they are going to start with trying to intimidate Akos. Same sort of. Generally it's just. It'll be easier for you if you go back to your cells. And a 15 does not intimidate Akos. And then they are going to just swing twice. So it is going to hit twice on Akos. Neither of them are critical. And then that will bring us to another guard. Let's see, this guard is going to spend a free action to drop his club and then from his back with an action, pull a crossbow. And so for one action is going to shoot at you. Gravewing. And that will be a 27 to hit you. [00:18:48] Speaker C: It'll hit not a critical. [00:18:52] Speaker B: And that'll be eleven piercing damage. And then for the last action, they will reload their crossbow. And that'll bring us to Laith. [00:19:07] Speaker G: Yeah. [00:19:07] Speaker D: Laithe is going to laugh a little at the guard who missed his hit on her and says, oh, darling, you have to try it like this. And then intentionally whiff a punch before kneeing him between the legs. So mechanically, I am going to Bonmont Feint and then attack. [00:19:27] Speaker G: I would do so much for life. I want her carnally as an add a character statement. Not in out of character. I want her to kill. [00:19:37] Speaker C: It could be in character, but you're a coward. [00:19:39] Speaker G: No, it's true. [00:19:43] Speaker D: Isn't she sapphic, but not exclusive. So Bon Ma is a 24. That's against their will. DC. [00:20:02] Speaker B: Oh, yeah, that will succeed. [00:20:04] Speaker D: Okay, so they have a minus two to perception and will saves. And then I am going to fate, which is deception against their perception, which is now down 228. [00:20:24] Speaker B: A 28 will be a critical success. [00:20:29] Speaker D: Okay, they are off guard against all melee attacks until the end of my next turn. So not just my attacks, everyone's attacks. [00:20:38] Speaker B: Hell yeah. [00:20:39] Speaker D: They also have a minus two. Two perception and reflex checks. Or saves. And then finally I knee them, which I assume is the same as like a fist. Unarmed attack. [00:20:51] Speaker B: Just an unarmed attack. [00:20:54] Speaker D: It's a 22 to hit a 22. [00:20:58] Speaker B: 22 will hit a. Oh. [00:21:02] Speaker D: And since they're off guard, I get my sneak attack damage, right? [00:21:05] Speaker B: Yes. [00:21:09] Speaker D: That is nine damage total. [00:21:13] Speaker B: Hey. Yeah, you get them. Good. And that's all three of your actions? [00:21:16] Speaker D: Yep. [00:21:19] Speaker B: All right. And that'll bring us to Alistair. I don't know why you are prone. [00:21:30] Speaker F: Maybe because someone just stole my hair. All right, so I will devise a stratagem against this guy that is already flat footed. [00:21:46] Speaker B: Mm hmm. [00:21:52] Speaker F: Have to target first, I guess. Wow. [00:21:58] Speaker B: Oof. [00:22:01] Speaker F: Um, yeah, you know, I don't think that that is going to hit. [00:22:09] Speaker B: Yeah, probably not. [00:22:12] Speaker F: And I. So that's a six when you um, did you do. You must use the result of a roll you made to devise a set stratagem for your first strikes attack. Okay, so. But that said, I can just choose not to. So instead, I am going to call him a lily livered servant of the bourgeoisie. I don't know why. And I would like to attempt to intimidate, which I believe can be used untrained. We are on for a good game. And for my last action, I will step back. It's probably a wise idea, because I see that my stratagem has failed, and that will be my turn. The first attack, and that'll be a dirty 20. [01:26:28] Speaker A: Ouch. Yeah, that'll hit. [01:26:32] Speaker B: Take Max, damage of ten and then is going to. Let's see. Kind of. You have him very boxed in, so he kind of can't run. So we're gonna. We're gonna toss two more attacks at you, Lou. [01:27:05] Speaker A: Let's go. This is how Lou dies, I guess. [01:27:09] Speaker B: A 19 and an 18. [01:27:11] Speaker A: They all hit. [01:27:12] Speaker B: Aye. [01:27:17] Speaker C: How the hell? On a multi attack penalty. Let's go. [01:27:23] Speaker B: 16 damage. [01:27:24] Speaker A: That's all the damage I had. That's all the hp I had left. [01:27:27] Speaker B: But you are just unconscious because it is just a SAP. [01:27:31] Speaker A: That is the funniest thing that could have happened here is me. Just go to spare everyone else. Hey, I have all of my HP and you go, no, you don't. Actually, none HP for you. [01:27:45] Speaker G: Yeah, Aubrey did not take that as a request. Aubrey took that as a fucking challenge. [01:27:50] Speaker E: None hp left beef. [01:27:54] Speaker A: You know what? This is usual. At least I don't have, like, fake temp hp keeping me alive for once. [01:28:01] Speaker B: So, yeah, it is akos turn, and they are going to. First two actions cast telekinetic projectile on this person, grabbing just a mug off of the table that they're currently standing on and gonna try to hit this guard with it. Unfortunately, they are trying not to hit anyone else. So their shot goes a little wide, and then they will spend their, uh, they'll move up, uh, with their last action, but as far as they can move. And then it's Yuri's turn. [01:28:46] Speaker E: Uh, Yuri saw this fucker just, like, knock down their cousin. Um, so they're just going. They're just gonna go ham at them. Uh, I think this study enemy. Do I have to do that every turn, or is that just. [01:29:05] Speaker B: Until your next turn? Okay, until your next turn. [01:29:08] Speaker E: So I'm gonna start off with that again. That is one e against their lore C. I assume that works. [01:29:21] Speaker B: Ah, yes, it does. Okay. [01:29:26] Speaker E: Then that is going to be. They are flanked. I have a plus two against them. That is going to be a 20. [01:29:34] Speaker B: A 20? Yeah, that is. That is gonna hit them perfect. [01:29:39] Speaker E: They're gonna take, finally, something other than four, two, one. So eleven damage. [01:29:48] Speaker B: Yeah. And they are. They go down. [01:29:51] Speaker E: Yeah. Lou does the same thing. Not Lou. Yuri just swings the club, like, between the part of their armor, between their helmet and their shoulder, really hard. If they kill them, Yuri doesn't care. [01:30:14] Speaker B: Well, so that will. As the last one goes down, that ends the encounter. And Akos says, grab your unconscious friend and we need to keep moving. And they are right next to one of the bodies. And you watch as Akos grabs the crossbow, slings it across their back, grabs a dagger from the belt. It's another belt. And mechanically, you can loot these bodies. They have all. Each of them have a crossbow, a club, a dagger, scale mail, a whistle, and ten bolts. So if anybody wants to grab a crossbow or a dagger or anything like that while they're. While you're running, you can. [01:31:00] Speaker G: How fast can I eat a person? Hypothetically? [01:31:03] Speaker B: Not very quickly. It's considered missions like just leaving them. [01:31:13] Speaker G: Charlie's like, I know we can grab an arm on the way out if we have time. [01:31:17] Speaker B: Okay, you hear, like, somewhere down the hallway, you hear a whistle being blown, and you hear prisoners loose in the quadrants. [01:31:30] Speaker E: Yuri is going to whip the club and extinguish the flame on it. Uh, like, I don't know, like, on their belt. Pick up Lou and pick up a crossbow. [01:31:45] Speaker D: Seeing that Lou is being taken care of, Laithe is going to grab a dagger and the whistle from the nearest body. [01:31:55] Speaker B: Yeah. [01:31:58] Speaker G: I'm just hungry. [01:32:00] Speaker B: Yeah. Also, unfortunately, a lot of these guards are very. Just unconscious. [01:32:07] Speaker G: Isn't one of them dead? [01:32:09] Speaker B: Yeah, but they got the ink shot to the face. [01:32:13] Speaker G: Is it still digestible? Like, just an arm? [01:32:18] Speaker B: All their body parts are still attached. You would have to detach the arm. [01:32:24] Speaker G: Is anyone here good? Detaching limbs. [01:32:27] Speaker B: I don't know if you have time. Yeah, I don't think you have the time right now. [01:32:31] Speaker F: Do they have swords or any other weapons on them besides the staff? [01:32:35] Speaker G: Okay, I'll commit cannibalism another day. I'm just. I'm just gonna wait for everyone to just be like, okay, we gotta. [01:32:41] Speaker B: They have. They have daggers, but also they're all wearing scale mail armor. [01:32:47] Speaker G: Yeah. [01:32:47] Speaker B: So you would have to get them out of that first, which takes ten minutes, hungry later. [01:32:54] Speaker F: They do have crossbows, don't they? [01:32:56] Speaker B: Yeah, they do have a crossbow. So if you want to grab a crossbow and you can take ten bolts for the crossbow. Okay, now just staring at this dead. [01:33:05] Speaker G: Corpse, shakes his head and then just go, okay, guys, let's keep moving at, like, five HP. Also not having a good time. [01:33:13] Speaker B: It's like, oh, God, there is Akos opens the door into front of everyone and just says, it's down the next hallway edge towards the third cell. Should be open, and that is where we will end it as you all start heading through this door towards the cell that is being mentioned. So, yeah, tik, why don't you take us out?
