[00:00:43] Speaker A: Wake me up in the sleep like dreaming, doctor alone I cannot find meaning hold my hand let me stare by your side through this never ending night I can feel it now it holds me all these days demon tower. Where's my love? [00:01:27] Speaker B: Hello, everybody, and welcome back to goblets and gays. It is the first episode of Tyrant of the Dark Star. I am Aubrey, your GM, and let's go around and meet our cast again. If you've listened to our lovely prologues, you will have learned what everyone's playing. But for those who didn't listen, we will introduce everybody, and I'll start with you, Aki. [00:01:53] Speaker C: Hello, I'm Aki. My pronouns are she her, and I will be playing gravewing, who also uses she her pronouns. She's a monk. And for me, it makes more sense to say the heritage rather than the ancestry. So, a sylph? [00:02:19] Speaker D: Yeah. Hi, I'm Alyssa. My pronouns are they them, and I play latha Driesee, the dampier dandy, and rogue, who uses she any pronouns. [00:02:31] Speaker E: Hello, I am Dusty. I use they he pronouns, and I'm playing Eurydo Fletchling, blood hunter, who uses he they pronouns. [00:02:47] Speaker A: Hello, I am Ferris. You she her pronouns. And I am playing eluet brother, who uses she her pronouns and is a thaumaturge. Yep. [00:03:01] Speaker F: Hello, I am Sparlock. I use he him pronouns. And I am playing Alistair Whiskerfield, the sewer rat folk investigator, who also uses he him pronouns. [00:03:16] Speaker G: And hello, I am tick, your resident furry. I use he she they pronouns. And today I'll be playing Nile, a wonderful flesh warp sorcerer who uses he they pronouns and is also an excellent chef. [00:03:30] Speaker B: Yeah. Um, and, uh, yeah, if you haven't listened to the pronoun, uh, the prologues, you should go listen to those, because, uh, they'll give you a little bit of context as to how everyone finds themselves in this first episode. It has been almost a hundred years since the tyra tyrant descended on the world of noxlight, blocking out the sun and plunging the world into a never ending night. We find ourselves in the city of Malachod, nestled in the middle of the watching woods and on the banks of Lake Cassian. It is here where the fate of the world will change. People are losing hope. The promises of the lamplighters are starting to ring hollow. The more time passes without seeing the sun. Today is the 15th of Saflan, almost two weeks since the end of the harvest festival. We'll open in cold iron prison, even with. We'll open in cold iron prison with seven shapes in this cell. The cell itself is a little crowded, but that isn't outside the norm for the prison. Now let's take a look at the people in the cell. The first two that are brought to this. Well, there's already one person in the cell when these two are brought. Alouette and Eurydo. If you want to do a quick description of yourself as you find yourselves in this cell and can pull the bags off of your head. [00:05:05] Speaker A: Yeah. You see a woman with this light pink skin, white, curving horns that come around her head almost like crown like, and this long tail that ends in this single, very large feather. Her face probably everywhere, but you can't really tell that are spotted with all these very thick white freckles. She has very long, very curly raspberry red hair that is probably just a total mess right now because who knows what's been happening while she's been in prison? It's a disaster, I'm sure. [00:05:43] Speaker B: Yeah. It's been almost two weeks. [00:05:45] Speaker A: Yeah. I doubt they've let her given her a hairbrush. She just generally looks very disheveled, much more than usual. She is wearing round bronze cast glasses. And unless they're like, you must wear this outfit for prison, then I guess she's wearing most of what she wore when she got arrested in question mark. [00:06:08] Speaker B: Yeah. For the most part, they don't provide uniforms. You're just kind of taken down to your very basic clothes. [00:06:15] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:06:16] Speaker B: Taking any. Anything extra, like jackets or anything, but, yeah. [00:06:21] Speaker A: So she's probably just, like, in her stays and undergarments, like this calf length dark skirt, her stockings, and, like, the white, high necked button up blouse. And I think everything else is probably gone and. [00:06:39] Speaker G: Yeah. [00:06:40] Speaker A: And she's just gonna. First thing she does is just do a wild spinning around. Actually, has she seen Yuri at all in the two weeks since we've been arrested? [00:06:52] Speaker B: In passing, you were not kept in the same cells, but occasionally they would let you out and there would be times where it's like, okay, go into this tiny little yard for an hour. [00:07:05] Speaker G: Okay. [00:07:07] Speaker A: Yeah. Then does a quick whirl around, sees Yuri in person and just runs in and hugs them. [00:07:17] Speaker B: Yeah. Yuri, give us a description. [00:07:20] Speaker E: Yeah. And the person they're hugging. I forget how tall is Lou because Yuri's definitely shorter. Right. [00:07:28] Speaker A: I think I said lube was five six. [00:07:33] Speaker E: Okay, so not that much shorter. So, Lou, Yuri, though, is five four. Currently, they are wearing, like, they have combat boots that are worse for wear. Like these thick, like, almost canvas pants. Not leather pants, but kind of like, made to withstand, like, any brush or something. If you're walking around in, like, a foresty area, um, a button up shirt that's usually supposed to be tucked in, um, because they have something over it. But, you know, they, they have suspenders, but one of them is kind of not over their shoulder because they've been here so long. Um, they have, like, darker maroon skin and they have horns going, um, kind of like up and back so they don't stick up a lot. But in between the horns, you see this mane of, like, this silvery hair with, like, these dark red streaks through them. Um, and they give Lou a hug back and just, oh, Lou, good to see you. Just, this is just, it's getting worse. No. [00:08:49] Speaker A: Feels wretched and do not like it, but I am glad that you are not dead and were just a ghost running around the prison to pump me. [00:08:57] Speaker E: Yes. Yes. Im glad im not dead either. [00:09:04] Speaker A: I dont like prison. [00:09:07] Speaker E: Yeah. Yeah, thats. Its a good thing. No, most people do not like prison, though. Thats kind of, we try so hard to stay out of it. [00:09:18] Speaker A: I am also getting the impression, given that it has been a while, that maybe either the family does not know we are here or they just, they care. They definitely care. So they just don't know we're here, and so they cannot come get us, which means we must. I don't want to stay here any longer. [00:09:47] Speaker E: Yuri looks at Lou with eyes that are holding back words and just, they probably think we're missing. [00:09:58] Speaker A: And, you know, that happens all the time in our family. She. We're not good at finding people who go missing. [00:10:10] Speaker B: And as they're having this conversation, another person is led and pushed inside the cell. Niall, describe yourself as you pull the bag off of your head and the door is closed behind you. [00:10:24] Speaker G: Aubrey, I have to ask you a very important question. [00:10:27] Speaker B: Yes. [00:10:27] Speaker G: Am I unwrapped right now? [00:10:29] Speaker B: Yes, you are. [00:10:30] Speaker G: Okay, so as this other person is let in, literally, if they just took the outer clothes off, there is just a fucking, like, the most bare bones, broke person outfit that you can get. Like, this person clearly got off a shift working at Fantasy McDonald's, aka at the traveler's rest, got arrested, got their outer coat taken off, and now they are not having a good day. Like, white, scraggly hair that kind of sticks out and looks kind of very messed up. Nails that seem to have gone somewhat black, if not entirely. One eye that looks a little bit like light, almost like a color. Yeah, it's a color. But the other eye is gone, replaced with a large mouth that looks like it has serrated teeth. And you see, like, as you look, you can see a couple more. One appears to be kind of on their neck area, maybe one under their shirt, but you can't really tell without lifting it up, and I really don't suggest doing that. I don't think you want to play count the mouth. It's not a fun idea, but they just kind of come in, look at you two, and decide that they really don't want to get involved with criminals at this point. So just kind of sit in the corner. [00:11:44] Speaker B: The corner. With or without the extra person in it. [00:11:47] Speaker G: I don't want to be near any of you creeps. [00:11:49] Speaker B: Okay? Yep. [00:11:50] Speaker G: Just putting head, head in hands. Like, oh, God, I'm a criminal now. [00:11:59] Speaker A: Hello? [00:12:04] Speaker E: No, you don't need to talk to everyone that comes in. [00:12:07] Speaker A: What? Why not? Is there potential? I don't know. Friends or something like that? [00:12:17] Speaker G: You really don't have to talk to anyone who comes in here. [00:12:22] Speaker A: I am being polite. [00:12:24] Speaker G: We're in jail. What are you in here for? [00:12:27] Speaker A: Nothing. What are you in here for? [00:12:31] Speaker G: Nothing. [00:12:33] Speaker A: See, we are all innocent here. [00:12:36] Speaker G: Hmm? Sure. [00:12:43] Speaker A: And either way, even if we were not innocent, I think we could have a little bit of civility on manners. It is not rude introducing people or at least stay alone. [00:12:55] Speaker G: Are you lecturing me on manners while we're in jail? [00:12:57] Speaker A: Yes. [00:12:59] Speaker G: Oh, my God. You're like my mother's. [00:13:03] Speaker A: Then. They sound like good people and they should be probably so ashamed to have a child in prison. [00:13:12] Speaker G: Who asked you? Who are you? I'm gonna look. I'm gonna look at you and be like, who is this? [00:13:19] Speaker A: Hello, my name is Alouette. [00:13:21] Speaker E: Okay. There you go. [00:13:23] Speaker A: I wouldn't say it is a pleasure to meet you, but it is interesting. [00:13:28] Speaker G: Well, Alouette, it is nice to get your name. It seems like you two have a lot to talk about, so I will let you guys do that. [00:13:38] Speaker B: And niall, in the back of your head, you hear, oh, God, I'm so hungry. Eat them, please. [00:13:45] Speaker G: No. I say no out loud. Just softly no. And then maybe, but probably no, I'm. [00:13:53] Speaker B: Very sure that you could, you could take the red one. [00:13:58] Speaker G: Maybe. I'll think about it. All this said out loud, by the way, with no fucking context. I'm just gonna look at you and be like, don't ask. [00:14:07] Speaker E: Wasn't going to. [00:14:09] Speaker G: Good. [00:14:11] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:14:11] Speaker B: The other one looks a little strong. You definitely don't want to try to take that down. [00:14:18] Speaker G: I'm just gonna lean on the wall. I'm sorry. Now it's not very talkative. He's just like, who are you people? I don't associate with criminals. I'm just sitting here. [00:14:27] Speaker A: Has the, um. Has the other person in the cell reacted at all to any of the conversation? [00:14:34] Speaker B: No, they appear to be asleep. [00:14:37] Speaker A: Asleep or dead? [00:14:39] Speaker B: They're breathing okay. [00:14:41] Speaker G: I don't have a stick to poke. [00:14:42] Speaker A: Them with, but if I did, I'd have one. [00:14:45] Speaker B: Yep. So, you know, this other person is wearing clothes that maybe at one point were relatively nice. [00:14:54] Speaker A: You can kind of see, like, the nice stitching and stuff on it. [00:14:57] Speaker B: They're kind of, like, curled up, like, leaning against the wall. You can kind of see a bit of their arm and sort of this ashen gray skin. You can't see their face, but, you know, they seem to be asleep in the corner. And is at this point where another person is brought in. Gravewing. Describe yourself as you're shoved through the door and pull the bag off your head. [00:15:31] Speaker C: You see coming towards you an almost nude woman who is incredibly ripped. Her body is fucked up. Scars new ones, old ones, burns, new ones, old ones. She is, like, 5253, maybe. And in, honestly, boy short underwear and a tank top that barely fits. She probably has more than just the bag on. They probably do keep cuffs on her feet, on her hands. Uh, heck, maybe, uh, maybe where, uh, her, um, elbows. Her elbow joints are as well. So it's just fully like, it's fully locked up, uh, to keep her hands, um, especially sealed. Um, you can see this, like, raggedy hair. It's a lot. It's messy. It's not long. It's not incredibly long. It goes. Maybe I want to say it's medium length, very black. What parts you can make off from her skin are, like a light brown in color. And she says nothing as she's, I bet, kicked in. There is no respect here. And honestly, it's a good thing. They can turn it. They cannot let up with her. Not in the slightest. For your question, Alyssa. Almost Anglin. [00:17:34] Speaker A: Good. [00:17:35] Speaker D: I like the lack of context for the question. [00:17:38] Speaker C: Yeah. It's just for us. It's just for us. [00:17:41] Speaker D: Yeah. [00:17:41] Speaker C: And then we'll forget about it. So when people be, like, dangling and we'll be like, hmm. [00:17:47] Speaker B: Uh huh. Yeah. [00:17:50] Speaker A: If she is still, like, cuffed and stuff, does she take off her hood or not? [00:17:56] Speaker C: She is cuffed. I don't think she can take off her hood, but honestly, I would. She will prefer to leave it on fur now, especially because she doesn't know where she is. So I think if you were to reach for the hood. You she would jerk very back. [00:18:18] Speaker A: Apologies. I was just going to. You can't take it off yourself, so I was going to take it off for you. [00:18:24] Speaker C: No, just leave it on. [00:18:26] Speaker A: Okay. Do you want. I have very, um. It is not polite to, like, be unclosed. But I do have much more elaborate layers. If you want, like my scat to cover yourself with, you are exposed. [00:18:47] Speaker C: That's fine. [00:18:48] Speaker A: Are you sure? This cold. Did you know that heat in this building. [00:18:56] Speaker C: Do you complain often? [00:18:59] Speaker E: Yes. Looking at with love. [00:19:04] Speaker G: First thing that happened when I saw her was she complained. [00:19:08] Speaker A: No, the first thing that happened was I said hello. [00:19:12] Speaker C: Well, thank you for the offer. I'll let you know when I need it. [00:19:16] Speaker E: They tell you why they're bringing you in? Why are they bringing us all in the cell? [00:19:21] Speaker A: Why do you have cuffs? The rest of us are not. [00:19:27] Speaker C: Let's just say they're smart to cuff me. [00:19:34] Speaker E: Boo. You should be their friend, too. [00:19:37] Speaker A: Of course, you're right. [00:19:38] Speaker G: Hello. [00:19:39] Speaker A: My name is Ariwe, too. It was a pleasure to meet you. I mean, it would be a pleasure in other circumstances, but right now it is simply. It is a meeting of you. I will shake your hand, but you are occupied. [00:19:55] Speaker C: You can shake it later. [00:19:57] Speaker A: I will. Are you sure? You go to Zbago? Because it's like, okay, it's for. [00:20:07] Speaker C: It's better for everybody if this stays on. [00:20:12] Speaker A: But then you can't see. I could try to put holes in my bag and then swap them out so you can at least see out through the holes in my bag. I have sharp. [00:20:24] Speaker C: I have horns. [00:20:25] Speaker A: I can just cut holes in them, tear it open with my head. [00:20:29] Speaker C: I'll let you know when I need it. I gotta look as, uh. Do I look. Do I look, uh. Do I look dirty? And, uh, perhaps down on my luck. Do I look weak? [00:20:46] Speaker A: No, you look extraordinarily rich, to be completely honest. [00:20:51] Speaker C: Shit. All right, well, sorry. I bet I gotta leave this bag on for sure. Now. [00:20:56] Speaker A: Is your face, like, more ribs than your body? Because there's not even that many muscles in the face. I mean, there's a lot, but they're like, face. [00:21:10] Speaker C: Maybe I have a very chiseled face. Maybe my face is one of those, like a statue. Or maybe I'm just really fucking ugly. [00:21:26] Speaker A: No one's very ugly, I don't think. [00:21:28] Speaker C: Because some people are not born pretty and they don't get any better. [00:21:33] Speaker A: But I mean, only to other people. You can always be pretty to yourself. [00:21:38] Speaker C: Nah. There are faces out there that mothers can't love. [00:21:44] Speaker G: You know what? [00:21:44] Speaker C: To be fair, I'm smiling, by the way. I am smiling. You can't tell I'm smiling. This is kind of fun. [00:21:53] Speaker A: I do have a sister who is, like, not the best, but she's not ugly. But, like, I don't think mother loves fortunate sister. [00:22:02] Speaker C: That's sad. [00:22:05] Speaker A: Unfortunately, she is the prettiest one with all of us. [00:22:08] Speaker C: Are you ugly? Are you telling me that you're ugly? [00:22:13] Speaker A: I think I am beautiful in my own way. [00:22:18] Speaker E: All right, we could leave this conversation for maybe later. [00:22:21] Speaker A: What else are we going to do? Here we are in a prison cell. [00:22:26] Speaker C: Just wait for them to finish. [00:22:30] Speaker E: And it is at this point that. [00:22:32] Speaker B: The next person is brought and shoved in the cell. Laith. Describe yourself. [00:22:38] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:22:39] Speaker D: Laith is relatively tall, around 511, with warm bronze skin. She's wearing a white dress shirt that's unbuttoned to a deep v. Not as deep as we saw it in her introduction. She's done up a couple buttons for practicality here in prison, but it is still spattered, I think, with some dried blood, and tucked into a pair of tight, dark trousers. I assume that because her boots were, like, thigh high, they confiscated them. That seems like the type of accessory that they would take. So, leaving her in a pair of thin stockings, and as she pulls the sack over her head, you can see just a curtain of thick, white hair fall loose. It was clear that she had sort of attempted to pull it up somehow at some point, but for some reason, they didn't allow her to keep hair accessories. And the lack of mirror and time means that it was not done very well. But I think she's standing. She's very much trying to present herself as unbothered by this whole thing. And so she pulls off the sack and looks around at the cell and pauses on Yuri and Lou. [00:24:25] Speaker A: EuGH. [00:24:30] Speaker D: What an interesting place for a reunion. [00:24:35] Speaker E: I. I would rather not. [00:24:39] Speaker A: What on earth are you doing? [00:24:40] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:24:43] Speaker D: Oh, some small scandal at a harvest party. What about you two? [00:24:54] Speaker E: Yuri is now pinching the bridge at her nose. [00:24:58] Speaker A: What was that? Did somebody say something? [00:25:07] Speaker D: The heck are many people in here? Alouette. [00:25:11] Speaker E: You know, Luo, usually you're the one, the first to make friends. What's going on? [00:25:18] Speaker A: I don't have to make friends with people who are no longer friends. That is all. [00:25:23] Speaker E: I am missing something looking at Laithe. Laithe? What am I missing? [00:25:31] Speaker D: I think you'd have to ask your cousin about that. And she doesn't seem to want to share, so. You didn't answer my question. You didn't answer my question, though. What are you two doing in here? Yuri, is this where you ran off to? We missed you at parties. [00:25:50] Speaker E: Why don't you talk to the person over there next to the sleeping one, pointing at Nile? [00:25:59] Speaker A: Yes. They have so many miles. [00:26:02] Speaker G: Squabble. I'm not a part of this. You guys have fun. [00:26:08] Speaker E: You know, reunions are times of celebration. And though I think meeting you again is not a reunion or a time for celebration, meeting you here in jail is definitely not a time for celebration. [00:26:23] Speaker A: I don't know. So I was thanks to sleep. [00:26:30] Speaker D: I agree. [00:26:33] Speaker A: Oh, that was not a confident answer. [00:26:37] Speaker D: Well, it was for me. [00:26:41] Speaker E: Well, at least you're in here, not dead. That's neutral. [00:26:50] Speaker D: Would you have been sad if I had died? [00:26:55] Speaker A: No comment. [00:27:00] Speaker E: Yuri is gonna, like, just like, sit down now, like, up against the bars or whatever. [00:27:08] Speaker B: And it's at this point, our final person is brought forward. Alistar, you are shoved into the cell and are able to pull the bag off of your head. And then the guard before they leave says, enjoy your last night. [00:27:29] Speaker E: Oh, is that why we're all here in the same cell? [00:27:32] Speaker F: No, I said screehobin. I was shaking a little rat fist as they go, so I gave a brief description. But Alistair whiskerfield is a about four foot tall brown rat that's looking a little bit worse for wear in the whiskers. Uh, just very disheveled right now. After the thing kind of does the thing they do where, like, licks his paw and goes at his ear, getting the hair a little bit better. These people, they're, they're, they're working with them. Um, and as he comes in, he will give kind of a strange look, specifically at dial and kind of go to the other side of the, uh, jail cell. [00:28:38] Speaker G: I'm giving you a strange look too. Like we were giving you the weirdest side eyes. And I'm just, like, glad that you are not coming to bug me because it's just a guy. [00:28:46] Speaker D: Laith immediately strides over it towards you. Did you say scream? [00:28:55] Speaker F: The screehoppin family, they have this dungeon and they're. Oh, my God, the bad things they're doing in there. So much blood. I don't, I don't know what they. But it just. I hope you don't have any know any maids that work there. It doesn't end up well for them. [00:29:23] Speaker D: What would a blood. I think that Laithe sort of has to take a second to compose herself. Um, and then were you snooping around their house? Is that how you ended up here. [00:29:42] Speaker F: I was hired. Nobody believes me. There was a maid named Liara. She disappeared and I found her. They're terrible. [00:30:01] Speaker D: Now that tracks. Did you notice any symbols around their house? [00:30:12] Speaker F: I didn't see any. I found that there's a room hidden. And I could just tell because the room was wrong. There was a candlestick. But all I found, like it was just rich people stuff. You know how they are. Until I entered the room. [00:30:40] Speaker D: Well, and you found a hidden room. Clever you. I'm surprised that they sent you to prison instead of just killing you there. [00:30:50] Speaker F: Honestly, I don't know how I tried. I told them that I was just there to steal, cheat. But then they found. They found I had found Liara's pin. That's how I knew that what I found was her. And they pinned it on me. The crime, not the pin. They took that into evidence, or whatever they do. Probably used it for some dark ritual. [00:31:25] Speaker D: Probably. [00:31:29] Speaker A: At any point in your interrogation layers, did you happen to ask this poor person's name? Or say anything pleasant? Or did you just go in and immediately start demanding answers? [00:31:43] Speaker D: You're hardly asking their name either, Alouette. [00:31:47] Speaker A: Because you are talking and it is rude to interrupt. [00:31:52] Speaker F: Oh, I'm sorry. I thought everybody knew. I am Alastair Whiskerfield, the greatest rat folk investigator and wizard in all of the city. [00:32:06] Speaker G: How about you? I know who this person is. [00:32:09] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:32:10] Speaker E: Do any of us know who this is? [00:32:11] Speaker B: Give me a society check. [00:32:13] Speaker G: Okay, hold on. [00:32:14] Speaker E: Society. [00:32:16] Speaker A: Can all of us make this? [00:32:17] Speaker B: Yes, all of us can. Hear. [00:32:19] Speaker A: First roll of the campaign. That came for logs. [00:32:23] Speaker E: So, with my plus zero, I got 19. [00:32:26] Speaker A: Woo. We love it. [00:32:31] Speaker G: Yuri, I got a 16. [00:32:37] Speaker A: Years. Years of using the sheet and I still never picked the right tab. First I got a 917. This feels like it would be so in my alley to know about this investigator, but no. [00:32:57] Speaker G: Just some guy, you know. Don't worry about it. [00:33:00] Speaker A: I don't know time for crime novels. [00:33:04] Speaker B: So anybody who got over like a twelve would know. [00:33:13] Speaker D: Oh, is there like a notable case? [00:33:18] Speaker E: Is there a notable case? [00:33:20] Speaker B: That is a question for Alistair. What is your most notable case? [00:33:25] Speaker G: Are you the guy that stole cheese from my restaurant? [00:33:30] Speaker F: I. [00:33:34] Speaker E: Oh, that's where I've seen you. Oh, you're the. You're the cook. [00:33:39] Speaker G: Yeah. I haven't seen you before. [00:33:43] Speaker F: Europe? [00:33:44] Speaker E: That's fine. [00:33:45] Speaker F: I heard. I heard you were. Weren't you eating a corpse the other day? [00:33:52] Speaker G: What the fuck? [00:33:53] Speaker C: What the fuck? [00:33:56] Speaker E: Well, that makes sense why you are here. [00:33:58] Speaker G: What? [00:33:59] Speaker A: Is that why you are in prison? [00:34:00] Speaker G: No. [00:34:02] Speaker E: And sending. [00:34:03] Speaker F: You were over on salvation row. My sources were telling me about it. [00:34:08] Speaker G: What the fuck are you going on about? [00:34:11] Speaker D: Can we incite them? [00:34:15] Speaker B: Yes. It'll be versus their deception DC. Oh, she's eleven. [00:34:22] Speaker G: The first cook I've seen you eat people. [00:34:28] Speaker A: What, um, what is inside again? [00:34:30] Speaker B: Uh, perception. [00:34:32] Speaker G: It's just perception. [00:34:34] Speaker A: Geez, I can't roll tonight. [00:34:35] Speaker G: Okay, that's fine. [00:34:37] Speaker E: Got blown up immediately. [00:34:40] Speaker G: 13. Hold on. Oh, God. [00:34:49] Speaker F: My deception DC is eleven, by the way. [00:34:52] Speaker B: Oh, it would be Niles. Cause Niles trying to deny eating people. [00:34:55] Speaker G: Oh, my deception DC. So it's the ten plus. I didn't even roll. [00:34:59] Speaker B: Yeah, it's just we're doing. We're doing it against that. [00:35:03] Speaker G: Okay. [00:35:04] Speaker B: It makes it a 17. [00:35:05] Speaker G: Yeah, it's a 17 as a DC. [00:35:07] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:35:08] Speaker F: Oh, I would like to roll. In that case, I thought was my. Was. Again, perception. [00:35:16] Speaker C: I also want to roll, but, like, I don't mind taking a penalty because I am actively not. I don't. I'm not looking at anyone. [00:35:24] Speaker B: Sure it's one. [00:35:25] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:35:26] Speaker G: Ro saw the first cook he's ever seen in his life said, you're the cannibal, right? It was somehow correct. I didn't say my name. I just said I was a cook. And she's like, oh, are you the cannibal one? [00:35:38] Speaker A: And she's like, what? [00:35:39] Speaker C: I got a 16. So I literally would have been if it wasn't for the minus one. It's hilarious. I think about it, and then I simply choose not to speak. [00:35:49] Speaker G: That guy's got hordes. Well, it's not my problem. [00:35:55] Speaker D: I got a 24, so I definitely. [00:35:57] Speaker C: Know. [00:36:00] Speaker G: That is my DC, so I think it also beats it. Don't worry. Lou believes you. Lou believes me. That's all that matters. Actually, no, it's not. [00:36:11] Speaker E: Eurydo leans into Lou and just. Yeah, don't. Don't become friends with them. [00:36:17] Speaker A: They do have a lot of mouths, but, like, eating people in public seems really risky, you know? [00:36:24] Speaker D: Well, that's how they ended up here, I imagine. [00:36:27] Speaker A: Did you. Were you eating people in public? And so they were like, ah, I'll rest up. [00:36:33] Speaker G: Can we, like, stop theorizing about my non existent cannibalism for 5 seconds? Okay. [00:36:39] Speaker A: What did you really do? [00:36:41] Speaker G: I'm not gonna tell you a crime I committed. [00:36:43] Speaker D: They ate someone in public. [00:36:47] Speaker E: Oh, sorry. [00:36:48] Speaker B: Are you. [00:36:48] Speaker E: Are you a criminal? [00:36:52] Speaker G: Aren't we all in jail? Is that a. [00:36:56] Speaker E: That don't mean anything. [00:36:57] Speaker A: Exactly. Some of us are here for no reason. [00:37:02] Speaker G: I could be in here for tax evasion for all you know, is it tax evasion? [00:37:07] Speaker E: No, tax evasion is a death threat penalty. You know that there was going to. [00:37:11] Speaker G: Be death penalties in a second. [00:37:14] Speaker E: He said that. Um, Alastair, you said this. Did you know why we're here? They said it was our last day. Do you know anything else? Because your great detective skills. [00:37:25] Speaker F: That'S. That's. I. I don't know anything. I've been like, they had a bag over my head there. There's only so much you can do with that. [00:37:36] Speaker G: You guys want to break out of here? [00:37:37] Speaker A: I mean, we. They said, I stay, and that could mean we are being released. [00:37:42] Speaker C: Could you guys do yourselves a really great favor and, uh, put your voices a little bit lower when you're talking about things like that? [00:37:51] Speaker B: Yeah. I can hear you as the. The person in the corner finally speaks. [00:37:56] Speaker A: Oh, good morning. [00:37:57] Speaker G: Oh, shit. [00:37:58] Speaker A: Good evening. Or afternoon. [00:38:01] Speaker B: Who are you? [00:38:01] Speaker A: I don't know. [00:38:04] Speaker B: This person. They stretch, pop their shoulder, and they lift their head and see the gray skin of this desk walker. And I've got this close cropped whitish hair that's been messy. Laithe, you know who this person is. And several of. I think it's a. There's a chance that Alouette, you've met this person in passing before, because they run in noble circles, and they're just like. You just crack their. They, like, pop their jaw and they just go. You can call me Akos. [00:38:51] Speaker C: Does that any. Ring any bells with me? [00:38:55] Speaker B: Give me a. We'll do. Also a society check. [00:39:03] Speaker A: Frantically googling our DM's to see if this is who I think. [00:39:07] Speaker G: No. [00:39:08] Speaker A: Okay. Is this someone else? [00:39:10] Speaker C: 1515. [00:39:12] Speaker B: You're familiar with the name? Akos is a very powerful person in noble circles that, you know, they seem to be part of the group called the unbroken, possibly. [00:39:28] Speaker C: Wasn't that the one? So that I have beef. Will have beef with me, possibly, yeah. [00:39:33] Speaker B: I think they run to the groups that you probably don't get along with, but, you know, it doesn't do well for them being in jail. [00:39:40] Speaker C: I laugh a bit, go, oh, my God, there's like, four. Four high class highborns. Yeah. Count them. [00:39:57] Speaker B: Yep. And if I'm not mistaken, last night means that they plan to kill us tomorrow. [00:40:04] Speaker C: Mm hmm. [00:40:05] Speaker D: Well, at least something good will come out of this. [00:40:08] Speaker E: So it's not a let you go kind of last night? [00:40:13] Speaker F: No, no, no, no. [00:40:17] Speaker E: Fuck. [00:40:18] Speaker A: I don't suppose anyone that has, like, lockpicking equipment or anything like that? No. [00:40:26] Speaker G: Hmm. [00:40:27] Speaker C: If you can get me out of these, and I bang, like, I like, I don't really bang, I just bonk it once. My. My fucking arm. Uh, cuffs on the ground. Get me out of these. We have a much higher chance of getting out. This is not my first time really being captured. At least. [00:40:49] Speaker A: I cannot promise it, but I should at least get something. That would be apple if things go all right. Hyohee, could you please come stand in front of me, please? [00:41:03] Speaker E: Yurto stands up and just. Okay, Lou, what are you planning? [00:41:09] Speaker A: I have to fix my stairs. And it is important to do that in front of mixed company, obviously. [00:41:14] Speaker E: Okay. [00:41:15] Speaker A: Yuri stands up, and she does adjust her clothes a little bit, but mostly she takes off her glasses and starts just fiddling with them. And as she does, she says, julie, did I ever tell you the very fun fact about my glasses? Did you know that they are cast from the same forms as my bells? Did I ever tell you that? [00:41:44] Speaker E: Yuri, I think maybe still not, like, not quite looking at you and just with a little more interest in the voice. No, but that seems fortunate. [00:41:53] Speaker A: It is such an interesting thing. They were made at the exact same time from the exact same bronze. And do you know the very first war of thaumaturgy is no, like, calls to like, and she's going to just, like, hold her glasses in one hand and do, like, a ringing motion. And I think the first time she does it, nobody hears anything. And then she does it again and there's, like, the faintest bell ringing and then she does it a third time and there's just a little louder bell. And unless somebody is actively preventing it from coming to her, she's going to call her bell to her. [00:42:39] Speaker B: Nothing's actively preventing your bells. [00:42:41] Speaker A: Then I think on the third ring, the bell appears in her free hand. So we go, wow, can I check. [00:42:53] Speaker G: Out the cuffs on the. The girl with the big titties. [00:42:57] Speaker C: Graveling? Well, actually, you don't fucking know me, girl. They call me girl. [00:43:06] Speaker G: Aka, can we, like, break it with spells? [00:43:08] Speaker B: Theoretically, you can try. There is a chance with spells that you will hurt this person. [00:43:25] Speaker G: How much damage? Can you take a beating? Mmm. [00:43:32] Speaker C: Well, it depends. You're not about to fireball me, are you? Because I can take one. [00:43:37] Speaker G: Okay. And I am going to, like, go over to. And be like, excuse me, may I? [00:43:45] Speaker C: Oh, are you by me? [00:43:46] Speaker G: Yeah. I don't want to come, too. I can't see shit. [00:43:49] Speaker C: Legit, fam. Oh, sorry. [00:43:51] Speaker G: Right. [00:43:51] Speaker C: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Go ahead, go ahead. [00:43:53] Speaker G: Okay, and I'll take the, uh, hood. I'll take the, um. Like, the cuffs and you guys just see that mouth that where their eye is, just open up and it's like, disgusting looking cosmic acre comes out and a bunch of, like, little darts and needles kind of shoot out. And I'm gonna cast needle darts on the cuffs. I'm gonna try to angle it so I don't hit her by accident. You know, you can probably pull that off with not aoe damage, but. [00:44:23] Speaker B: Roll a spell attack against. [00:44:26] Speaker G: Why do I just keep putting my dice away? Hello? I need you. [00:44:32] Speaker C: Like, say a whole prayer in Italian to you dice right now because I just remembered your rolling. Tell me about you tick. [00:44:47] Speaker G: Uh, could be better, could be worse. Um, it's a 1515. [00:44:52] Speaker B: Uh. Uh, so you will, uh, like, count as, um, like, off guard, and we'll count it just prone. Would that make your, uh, believe with that? That would make your ac low enough to hit. [00:45:09] Speaker C: My ac is 19 to know. Yeah. [00:45:12] Speaker G: Okay, I'm hitting the cuffs, not her. Like, she's just standing still. I'm just holding her cuffs, you know, like, yeah, but, you know, move. I'm just like, hold on, don't move. She's like, sorry. Reflexes. [00:45:24] Speaker B: So the big problem with this spell, I will let you know, is it's piercing. [00:45:29] Speaker G: Yeah, that's kind of all I really got. [00:45:31] Speaker B: Yeah. So with the piercing damage it is, you may have to cast it multiple times because, uh, it's not going to do a lot of damage to the cuffs themselves. [00:45:43] Speaker G: I will do that because it is just a cantrip and it's the only damaging cantrip I have. [00:45:48] Speaker C: Well, is it loud? [00:45:49] Speaker G: No. [00:45:49] Speaker C: No. Is it loud? [00:45:51] Speaker B: It is loud because you will have. [00:45:53] Speaker C: The first time I hear it, I go, okay, you got to stop. Yeah, we can't be. If it's not out, we can't be doing this, because they will. They'll show up. [00:46:02] Speaker F: Question, um, does it leave needles? [00:46:08] Speaker G: Um, okay, this is an Aubrey rolling. [00:46:11] Speaker B: Because they're not going to stay. [00:46:16] Speaker G: Okay. [00:46:17] Speaker B: Uh, and because the metal will return to you after the attack is made. [00:46:23] Speaker G: It doesn't really leave. It's not. It's supposed to, like, use metal, but because I'm a sorcerer, I don't need it. So it just enters my hole again, raising. Anyways. [00:46:34] Speaker D: Does anyone have a hairpin or something? They took all of mine. [00:46:44] Speaker C: I do not. I don't know if you can tell. I have nothing. I barely have small clothes. There's a hole somewhere here and I can feel it. [00:46:57] Speaker F: Any of a bra with an underwire? [00:47:02] Speaker C: Nope. You held it again. [00:47:03] Speaker A: Actually, I have said multiple times, I am wearing stays. And they do typically have boning in them. And I think if I took the boning out, that would solve our problem. I was going to offer my glasses, but this is way better. Gary, I need you to stand guard again. I have to get undressed. [00:47:26] Speaker E: You? I thought that's why you were getting your belt. [00:47:29] Speaker A: Okay, I gossiped. Now I have to get boning out. Okay, leave me alone. [00:47:35] Speaker C: All right, real quick. [00:47:37] Speaker E: I guess I should say Yuri is, like, they're shorter, but, like, they are, like, built, you know? [00:47:43] Speaker B: They. [00:47:43] Speaker E: They wide. [00:47:45] Speaker A: Yeah, I guess. Yeah. We were just gonna, like, get undressed and then, like, hide under her skirt so she can take off her stays and start pulling the boning out of the corset part. [00:47:57] Speaker C: While you're doing that. Oh, you go ahead. You go ahead. Okay. [00:48:01] Speaker D: I was just gonna say Laith has turned her back to Lou for this, but does say, oh, boning in a prison cell. How scandalous. Alouette. [00:48:13] Speaker A: Don't even start. You especially. Don't even start. Doesn't care anyway. This is not for you. [00:48:21] Speaker G: It's for you, but it's not for you. Are you guys exes or something? [00:48:25] Speaker A: No. [00:48:27] Speaker E: Yuri raises her eyebrow, specifically looking at Leite. [00:48:31] Speaker D: Well, I don't think a cannibal needs to know my personal history. [00:48:39] Speaker E: Insight check. Insight check. [00:48:44] Speaker G: I'm gonna go get Alistair and be like, why did you even just say that out loud? Is my question here. [00:48:49] Speaker E: What's your DC? [00:48:50] Speaker B: What's your DC? [00:48:50] Speaker E: Alyssa. Ha. I rolled a 19, so it's 27. [00:48:57] Speaker D: X's is a strong word, but there is definitely some history there. [00:49:04] Speaker E: Your eyebrow was raised looking at you, and now their brow furrows looking at you, but they don't say anything. [00:49:13] Speaker D: My back is turned to you. [00:49:16] Speaker C: All right, real quick. Alouette. Irrito. Laithe. Alistair. Niall. [00:49:26] Speaker G: Yep. Wait, how'd you lose that? [00:49:30] Speaker C: Because it got said. Oh, also, I think I know who you are. Oh, you have really good suit if you're the same guy. Real good. [00:49:39] Speaker G: I am the same guy. Thank you. [00:49:41] Speaker C: Yeah. Literally my favorite fucking thing. [00:49:44] Speaker B: Piece isn't bad either. [00:49:47] Speaker F: I mean. [00:49:50] Speaker C: No, no, you're right. All right, listen here. This isn't gonna work. This is how it's gonna work. Uh, we're gonna pay attention to round the clock guard show up thing. Whoever is the better talker, try and sweet talk one of the guards, please, to figure out what time it is. Our best means of escape is night afterwards. Somebody also please describe what the bars look like. Like, are they rusted? Are they wet? These are very important things. For me. [00:50:30] Speaker A: You know what? Those in a different ood yet. [00:50:34] Speaker C: No, I don't. You do not need to know my identity right now. [00:50:37] Speaker A: Just like eye holes for you. [00:50:39] Speaker C: It's. Trust me, it's better if this stays on. The longer this stays on. It is better. [00:50:52] Speaker D: But what is the bar situation like? Is it actual bars? Is it just a room? [00:50:58] Speaker B: It is actual, like bars. It is not called cold iron prison for nothing. The bars are actually all forged in cold iron because of things from years and years ago. If they were a problem, they are not a problem anymore. [00:51:18] Speaker A: We can't be attacked by the boogeyman again. Yay. [00:51:22] Speaker G: Are they. [00:51:23] Speaker A: Maybe we should stay here. [00:51:26] Speaker B: They're not incredibly rusted. They're not, like, incredibly well taken care of. But there may be, like, little spots of rust, but there's nothing. Like, none of nothing major. [00:51:40] Speaker G: I'll relay this with precision. Like, this is the bar material about this much space apart, this thickness, slightly rusted, not wet. [00:51:48] Speaker B: They are actually. Well, the ones in the window are wet. The ones leading out the hallway are not. It is currently raining, and it is roughly about twelve degrees fahrenheit. Twelve degrees celsius. [00:52:03] Speaker G: Nice. Okay, perfect. [00:52:05] Speaker C: You freaking gave us celsius. What? [00:52:07] Speaker G: Oh, nice. Aubrey. How dare you? [00:52:10] Speaker A: Okay, how dare do you appeal to the Canadians? [00:52:14] Speaker C: Okay, okay. So celsius are okay. Grave way. I will ask, are the bars. Can you wiggle each one for me? And if it gives slightly where you feel it turning and not your hand turning, it turning, let me know. [00:52:34] Speaker G: I'll do that, Aubrey. [00:52:36] Speaker B: So the way the bars are, they're not, like, rested within something. They're like the window. Are kind of rested in the window. But the window is like, ea big. [00:52:45] Speaker G: Okay. [00:52:46] Speaker B: Uh, window is very small. Uh, the ones in the, like, the hallway are all, like, the. The bars themselves and the. The whole. It is literally just like a metal cage. [00:52:56] Speaker C: Like a metal cage. That means there's a door, right? Like, there is a door that it swings open. So that means there's hinges. [00:53:02] Speaker B: Yes. [00:53:03] Speaker C: Look at the hinges. Please tell me what the scenario looks like for that. [00:53:08] Speaker G: I'm just describing everything as Aubrey says it. [00:53:10] Speaker B: Yeah, they were very, uh. They're very squeaky when you open the door. [00:53:14] Speaker C: Very squeaky. Is the rust there? [00:53:18] Speaker B: The others, they're definitely a little rusted. [00:53:21] Speaker C: All right, this is. This. I'm. This is gonna sound really weird. Are they punchable? [00:53:32] Speaker B: No, the hinges are on the outside. [00:53:33] Speaker C: Hinges are on the outside. That's good to know. Hinges on outside. Hook outside. [00:53:39] Speaker B: So I'll give. [00:53:42] Speaker A: I probably have the boning out by now for Leia, so I'll give her that. [00:53:48] Speaker B: Also, Yuri, there's a small sort of clatter of something metal by your foot. [00:53:58] Speaker E: I will look down by my feet. I guess there's a key. [00:54:04] Speaker B: And you sort of look over. You all sort of saw Akos tossed something. [00:54:11] Speaker E: Yuri, do pick it up and just look at Akkos and just. You just had like, is this just the key for the door? [00:54:22] Speaker F: Said something before we undressed. [00:54:25] Speaker B: That was kind of funny. Look, it's been a rough couple of weeks and someone slipped that to me this morning, so. [00:54:35] Speaker A: You are very rude. [00:54:37] Speaker B: I've been told. [00:54:38] Speaker F: So. Wait, someone slipped? Maybe we shouldn't trust him. [00:54:42] Speaker E: Maybe he's one of them. [00:54:44] Speaker D: We should not trust him. [00:54:46] Speaker B: Oh, you should not trust me. [00:54:48] Speaker E: Yeah, I didn't. I mean, if it's a key out, it's a key out. [00:54:53] Speaker D: If it's a key out, it means there's a trap waiting out. I think, dude, he's rich. [00:54:59] Speaker G: He probably has people that want him out of here. I say that quietly, but, like, I ticap to speak loudly, so the mic fix it up. [00:55:06] Speaker C: Are you still beside. Are you still beside me? Yeah, Niall. Yeah. I raised my hand just a little bit to give you a props. [00:55:15] Speaker G: Like a great props, because that's funny. [00:55:18] Speaker C: Yeah, it really is more like a, like a, like a. Just a gentle tap. [00:55:22] Speaker G: But, like, it's the equipment that is. [00:55:24] Speaker C: The best I can give you right now. [00:55:26] Speaker G: Yeah. And I will also let you know most of the stuff that I can do in terms of damage is poison, like undead negative sort of stuff. And also the needles that I showed, so that's about nothing good for metal, unfortunately. [00:55:42] Speaker E: Yuri is going to look. Lou, hold the key really quick. And they're going to hold the key. Give lu the key. I mean, and going to walk over to Akos. And just now you're not setting us up for a track, are you? Because that would be a very bad idea. [00:55:59] Speaker G: Wait, hold on. I have a spell for this. [00:56:02] Speaker B: What spell? [00:56:04] Speaker A: I have. [00:56:04] Speaker G: If we really, really want to. I have object reading. I can hear about an event that occurred within the last. Within the last week in this key. If we learn that involves a trap or not do it. [00:56:17] Speaker C: That's so dope. [00:56:18] Speaker D: That's really fucking. [00:56:19] Speaker C: That's really fucking cool to. [00:56:22] Speaker G: It's a spell slot. But you just see Niles just thinking it's like, I do have that spell that, like, can see the passive objects and just. Just aki's character just looks over. Like, you. What now? [00:56:32] Speaker C: I do. [00:56:33] Speaker G: I do. [00:56:33] Speaker C: With the pit, with the bag and everything. Just like a very dramatic head move and be like, really? [00:56:40] Speaker G: You think I should do it? [00:56:44] Speaker C: That would be really fun. [00:56:46] Speaker B: Go for it. Aka says, you know, you learn that there's definitely not a trap that I'm aware of. If there's a trap, I'm not aware of it. [00:57:02] Speaker G: The exact spell is you place a hand on an object to learn a piece of information about an emotional event that occurred involving the object within the past week determined by the GM. So you actually have to decide what I get from this. So I will cast it. And within the past week, what exactly does this key hold? Is some secrets and stories. [00:57:22] Speaker B: So you, it's a weird feeling because it's like suddenly it's you, the key. You're feeling the key, and the key doesn't really have feelings, but it's kind of like you get the sense that it's being passed to someone, and then, you know, you. It is be. So the key is being passed to someone, and then that someone who the key has been passed to hides it within a bowl of food, which is then given to akos. [00:58:00] Speaker G: Hmm. No, like, in terms of vibes or emotion behind the person that was doing that. [00:58:08] Speaker B: Um, vibes, uh, emotion. I I would say it's somewhere between, between certainty and slight desperation. Somebody wants Akkos out of jail. [00:58:23] Speaker G: Okay. The info, like, very clearly what I saw and everything like that, and just finish it with it seems like they do actually want him out of here with all the steps that they've taken and what I could sense. Also confident in this person getting out, it looks like. [00:58:43] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:58:44] Speaker G: Were you waiting for more people to get in this jail cell? Because, you know, breaking out alone would be a terrible idea. [00:58:52] Speaker B: Yeah, 50%. One thing kind of waiting for night and shift change. Shift change should be. And if I've ca, if I've counted it properly over the past week, shift change should be in about 5 hours. There should be roughly a spot of about ten minutes that we can move quickly. And if I know my map of the city, there is a secret passage out of here. [00:59:24] Speaker G: Okay. I think it's as good a bet as any. [00:59:28] Speaker F: We should definitely wait till Swiss to shift change. You don't want to make that mistake twice. [00:59:34] Speaker G: Swiss change? [00:59:35] Speaker B: Swiss change? Yes. [00:59:37] Speaker F: I mean, shift change like the swiss. [00:59:39] Speaker G: Cheese you stole, huh? I had to pay for that myself. You know, I look, I look upset now. I'm just like, I had to pay for that cheese. Cheese thief. Here I thought your boss was nice. [00:59:54] Speaker A: I don't know this. [00:59:55] Speaker G: What about your boss was so nice. He is. I probably had to pay for it just because it was. I was cooking with it, and I was like, oh, well, anyways, I have to get more cheese. [01:00:03] Speaker A: You pay for it out of guilt. [01:00:05] Speaker G: Out of guilt? Yeah. How'd I lose a whole block of cheese? I'm like, other chef. I'm just like, oh, a cheese block. Scott, I'm gonna ignore that. No, I gotta make sure that cheese is on point. That cheese is my responsibility. [01:00:15] Speaker E: Is, um. Is this just like a key? Like a gate size key, or is there multiple keys on it? [01:00:21] Speaker B: It's just one key. [01:00:23] Speaker E: Okay. [01:00:24] Speaker C: You still gotta lockpick my. My hand, my handcuffs, probably, right? [01:00:28] Speaker G: Yeah. [01:00:28] Speaker B: Yeah. [01:00:29] Speaker E: Yeah. That's the latest problem to fix. [01:00:32] Speaker C: Yeah. [01:00:33] Speaker D: Well, I'm not turning around to look at Lou until she. I mean, she did it, I think. [01:00:38] Speaker C: Oh, she did. [01:00:38] Speaker D: Okay, then I will go over to this hooded figure, sort of stand behind you, ask if it's okay to, like, touch you and touch the chains. [01:00:54] Speaker C: Yeah. [01:00:55] Speaker D: And attempt to pick this lock. Aubrey, am I doing this at some sort of disadvantage? Because this is just a wire. [01:01:01] Speaker B: I will say it's just a. Just a minus one. Grabbing improvised tools. [01:01:06] Speaker D: Yikes. We got hero points, right? [01:01:08] Speaker B: Yes, you have a hero point. [01:01:10] Speaker G: Okay. [01:01:15] Speaker D: All right. Dirty 20. [01:01:20] Speaker B: Dirty 20. I. You will need multiple successes for this. That does count as one success. You will need two more successes. [01:01:28] Speaker A: I will reluctantly give you guidance. [01:01:32] Speaker G: Reluctantly, like, it's not for you. [01:01:35] Speaker A: It's for great boys, I think. [01:01:39] Speaker C: Yeah. And I'll pipe them like, oh, I think you got one. I hear it. Look. You feel it. [01:01:47] Speaker D: Is guidance just a plus one? [01:01:52] Speaker B: Guidance is. Yeah, just a plus one. [01:01:55] Speaker A: Yeah. [01:01:56] Speaker C: So it cancels out, I guess, the minus five. Okay, cool. [01:01:59] Speaker D: So 22 on the second check. [01:02:05] Speaker B: 22. So that's the second success. One more success. [01:02:07] Speaker C: Yeah, you got it. [01:02:11] Speaker D: You can't do guidance right twice. It's an hour wait. [01:02:15] Speaker G: It's duration. [01:02:16] Speaker A: Oh, wait, hang on. [01:02:17] Speaker G: Oh, you're right. It is immune for an hour, unfortunately. I don't know. [01:02:20] Speaker C: Sorry. [01:02:20] Speaker A: I got hung up on it being a cantrip. [01:02:22] Speaker C: Yeah. [01:02:24] Speaker D: Last one is not good. [01:02:29] Speaker B: 1313 is not a critical failure. So your pick does not break. But you are not able to get this last one. It's been a little tough. The lock is sticking. [01:02:42] Speaker D: Sorry, I haven't had to do this in a minute. [01:02:45] Speaker A: It's fine. [01:02:46] Speaker C: It's fine. [01:02:49] Speaker B: You can assist, but I guess it's just because assist, I think, is now only a DC 15. Yeah, DC is DC 15. But for something I will ask, like, how you are helping. [01:03:13] Speaker F: Well, in this particular case, which I'm checking my skills to see if it is worthwhile because I know that's been in. [01:03:24] Speaker B: Yeah. [01:03:25] Speaker F: Because I'm really good at, like, crafting, and I have. I'm trained in both crafting and thievery. So seeing. Seeing laithe struggling with that last tumblr, I would be like, hey, I think this type of lock, like, if you jiggle it this way, it might help using either crafting or thievery. But I'm kind of thinking of it from a, like, crafting type of perspective. [01:03:57] Speaker G: Yeah, I've made handcuffs before, you know, like, that type of energy. [01:04:01] Speaker A: Sure. [01:04:02] Speaker B: I'll allow it. If you want to give that. You want to roll for that assist? [01:04:12] Speaker F: Hey. [01:04:17] Speaker C: I think the dice got dropped. [01:04:19] Speaker B: It is a 21, so it is a plus one. [01:04:23] Speaker C: Yay. So I guess it just, like, it, like, unlocks and I can pop it off. [01:04:31] Speaker B: Yeah, I'd say these are the ones on your hands. Your arms are done. [01:04:36] Speaker C: Yeah, yeah, yeah. I just. I slide it off. I don't let it, like, fall hard and heavy. I don't want to make that noise. But I do, like, I like, I roll my shoulders and, like, the bones pop and it's very audible and, like. And you see, like, you see me stretch a bunch, and I'm not gonna care because it's. I've probably been stuck like this for a while, so if I flash, I flash. I don't give a shit. [01:05:05] Speaker G: I am looking away respectfully. [01:05:07] Speaker C: Things happen. Things happen. And you see. You see me go. Okay. Good work. You said you know the shift change, right? 5 hours. [01:05:23] Speaker B: 5 hours. [01:05:26] Speaker C: Do they keep. Which direction do they go? [01:05:33] Speaker B: Usually they head out. They point to west. And they say they usually head that direction. That's the front. We're gonna need to go east. [01:05:45] Speaker C: That's what I thought. Okay. Gonna what? [01:05:52] Speaker B: There's a. There's a. It's a hidden passage in an old, unused storeroom. [01:06:02] Speaker G: How do you know all of this? [01:06:04] Speaker B: Because I've smuggled people out of here before. [01:06:09] Speaker C: Here. [01:06:09] Speaker G: To elaborate. [01:06:10] Speaker B: What? [01:06:11] Speaker C: Do you know who else is in here? [01:06:14] Speaker B: I do not. They've kept me in the cell for about two weeks, and I have found myself a little betrayed. [01:06:30] Speaker F: So. [01:06:34] Speaker B: I don't know who I trust. And funny enough, you are the most likely people to trust in this moment because you have nothing to do with me or the unbroken, so. [01:06:52] Speaker C: Oh, you're gonna hate that. [01:06:56] Speaker B: Oh, I'm not a fan of it either. Bravewing. [01:07:00] Speaker C: Thanks. I had a character. [01:07:03] Speaker G: That name ringing a bell? [01:07:05] Speaker B: Yes. [01:07:06] Speaker G: Yeah. I'm just gonna, I'm just gonna stare a little bit and be like, oh, okay. [01:07:13] Speaker F: What sort of bells does that name ring? [01:07:18] Speaker B: Aki, what sort of bells does that name ring? [01:07:21] Speaker C: For the past, I have almost, you know, not 20. I feel like I have the math somewhere, but let's just say an almost two decade unbroken vigilante reign. Ravewing, I think, is objectively the most well known out of the bugs. I am more. I am disliked by most nobility and well liked by most lowborns. There's a couple other rumors, but I don't know how much I want to say. [01:08:09] Speaker B: You have your rumors. [01:08:10] Speaker C: Yeah, I have a very rumors, you know, I have a great reputation. I have a great reputation. [01:08:20] Speaker G: All right. [01:08:21] Speaker B: Yeah. There are two other bugs. There is yellowjacket, and then there is widow. You would have at least heard the names in passing. [01:08:32] Speaker G: You're very different from the rumors I've heard. [01:08:37] Speaker C: Because I have more clothes on usually. [01:08:39] Speaker G: No, it has nothing to do with your clothing. [01:08:44] Speaker A: Why, why was it again that you were in prison? [01:08:52] Speaker C: Uh, vigilanteism tends to be pretty illegal. [01:08:59] Speaker A: I see. [01:09:00] Speaker C: Why? What did you hear? Because you clearly heard something. [01:09:06] Speaker A: Nothing. Just, you hear things about those sorts of people. [01:09:11] Speaker C: Like, don't you want to be friends? [01:09:16] Speaker A: Some people are here for cannibalism, and some people are here for other things, like the thing that comes before cannibalism. [01:09:26] Speaker G: I'm never going to drop these rumors. [01:09:30] Speaker F: What comes before cannibalism? Is there, like, stages to it or. [01:09:35] Speaker G: Usually, yeah. [01:09:38] Speaker F: Oh, okay. [01:09:40] Speaker B: Niall, in the back of your head, you hear, eat the rat, eat the. [01:09:43] Speaker G: Rat, eat the rat. I just think back internally. She's like, I swear to God, not right now. Can you give me one piece of, like, helpful advice right now, or can you stop being hungry for 5 seconds? This is not out loud, by the way. [01:10:01] Speaker B: I don't think that Akos would taste very good. [01:10:06] Speaker G: Okay. I'm okay. [01:10:08] Speaker B: Buddy, it's been two weeks. [01:10:11] Speaker G: You know what? Just sling spells when we need to sling spells, and it'll be okay. I'll find something. But right now I have, like, five people on my tail that think I eat people, and we kind of need to change that. None of this is out loud. Again, just thinking to myself a little bit about these rumors internally. Just screaming like, you fucking freak. No, don't say that. But I will. I will look over at, um, everyone and be like, it seems like we've all collected a lot of rumors. I've heard rumors about all of you. [01:10:43] Speaker C: Honestly, all four of them are from prominent families. [01:10:48] Speaker G: Yeah. And one of them is the great rat detective, and one of them is an excellent vigilante. [01:10:55] Speaker C: Other one is, like, the best chef in the dark. Bizarre. I will take my. My, um, uh, hood thing off. Um, I'll turn away to do it just so that way I can make sure my bangs stay very forward, um, on my face. And then I'll look back and just be like, all right, so now that we are all very well acquainted. Temporary truths. [01:11:27] Speaker G: Yeah, that works. [01:11:33] Speaker E: Once we get out of here. [01:11:37] Speaker F: Are we fighting? [01:11:40] Speaker A: No. [01:11:41] Speaker C: No. I. Yeah, I'm not too thrilled about the company, but I need to get out, and so do the rest of you. Two of them, I think, are exes. I don't know. No offense, Niall. Potential cannibalism is very suspicious. [01:12:06] Speaker G: What rumors have been spreading about me nowadays? [01:12:09] Speaker C: Well, no, I mean, I just heard it now, and, you know, that's. Those are. Those are very strong allegations. [01:12:17] Speaker G: The rat heard that I was a chef and immediately jumped to cannibalism. [01:12:21] Speaker A: I don't know. [01:12:23] Speaker C: I know, but I don't. I don't want to ask why you're here. [01:12:26] Speaker G: Like, I could say that Alouette kills babies as a hobby, and then suddenly we're all calling Alouette a baby killer. [01:12:33] Speaker C: Well, she's in jail right now, so maybe she would. [01:12:39] Speaker A: Character. You can't do this to me with. [01:12:41] Speaker G: Two characters in a row. [01:12:44] Speaker B: I refuse. [01:12:45] Speaker G: I refuse. [01:12:47] Speaker C: Look, all I'm saying. All I'm saying is. All I'm saying is we don't. I'm not asking questions about why any of you are here. Four of you are rich. Honestly, it could be anything for y'all. I'm surprised you haven't been picked up yet. That's scary, too. I just want to get out and then hopefully not see the rest of you again. [01:13:11] Speaker G: Agreed? No offense. [01:13:14] Speaker A: Don't even know I am yet. All we did was not die. Or we did die. I don't think we died. [01:13:22] Speaker E: I think I died for a little bit. [01:13:24] Speaker A: I don't think you died. I hope you did not die. I tried very hard not to make you die. [01:13:28] Speaker C: They tried. [01:13:30] Speaker F: I give them the medicine poke. Not dead. Not dead. [01:13:36] Speaker E: Yes. I know that now. [01:13:40] Speaker A: Anyway, so we have a plan to wait until they shipguard and then to use the key on the door and then to exit in a particular location out of the secret passageway. And then we just go. [01:14:01] Speaker B: Secret passage will take us through the sewers to starlight bastion. [01:14:09] Speaker A: Okay, and then we just go. [01:14:14] Speaker B: Maybe a little harder than that. Currently, starlight bastion is under quarantine. [01:14:22] Speaker A: Is this news, or was this the ghouls? [01:14:25] Speaker G: Yeah, yeah. [01:14:26] Speaker B: Charlotte Bastion is one of the areas that is, uh, quarantined because of ghouls. That's not right. [01:14:33] Speaker G: Just give Alistair a look. [01:14:34] Speaker B: It's like. [01:14:34] Speaker G: Yeah, the ghouls. [01:14:38] Speaker E: Probably a little bit more in ghouls right now. [01:14:41] Speaker A: What we ran into sounds like ghouls or very well dressed gentlemen. Gay, well dressed gentlemen. [01:14:55] Speaker G: Bulls or guillotine? Pick your poison. [01:15:00] Speaker A: Neither of those are poison. It's a. [01:15:05] Speaker G: It's a phrase. It's a figure of speech. [01:15:09] Speaker A: I'm just saying neither of them are poisoned. [01:15:12] Speaker C: All right, figure of speech. Done. What can you all do? Should we get into a tussle? You can do magic? [01:15:24] Speaker G: Yeah, that's about it. Not much else. [01:15:27] Speaker C: And cook. Can the rest. Can the rest of you do anything combat wise? This is very important. [01:15:34] Speaker F: I'm good with a crossbow, but I would need, like, a weapon. [01:15:42] Speaker C: Okay. [01:15:43] Speaker E: I could hold my own thing. [01:15:46] Speaker C: Hold your own do what? [01:15:48] Speaker E: Fighting. [01:15:49] Speaker C: Fight, I'm assuming. All right, that's what I wanted to know. Dope. I point to your cousin. What can you do? [01:15:59] Speaker A: Um, I am really good with, um, noting things that are not good for sometimes. I'm good at sending weaknesses. [01:16:17] Speaker G: Magic. [01:16:18] Speaker C: Sounds like magic. I point to lace. What can you do? I mean, you can lockpick, but besides. [01:16:24] Speaker D: That, I'd rather have a dagger, but I suppose I can just punch someone if I need to. [01:16:31] Speaker C: Dagger. Good to know. I point to echoes. What can you do? [01:16:37] Speaker B: Knackles. Makes magical lights appear in their hands. [01:16:42] Speaker C: Awesome. Magic. Great. I'm assuming you can talk as well. [01:16:47] Speaker B: Yeah, and I'm handy with a blade. Mechanically, magos is a ghost. Is a magus. [01:17:00] Speaker A: The way it goes. [01:17:01] Speaker C: All right, though. Good. I'm assuming she can talk points to aloe. I'm also assuming you can talk points to leave everyone else. I think we're fucked. Well, not that fucked. I think you're fucked. But I'm gonna be here to make sure that you're not fucked. Does that sound good? [01:17:21] Speaker G: Sounds good. I'll stay in the back and shoot spells out. That's about all I can really do. [01:17:25] Speaker C: You should stay in the middle, because these are single corridors, and they can easily surround us. And audits to God if the dark light bazaar loses you as a chef, I think we're fucked. [01:17:41] Speaker G: Aw. You have a way with words to say thank you. [01:17:46] Speaker C: You season your food. I'm forever grateful. [01:17:49] Speaker G: It is a low bar nowadays. [01:17:52] Speaker D: Where is it that you cook the. [01:17:55] Speaker G: Travelers dressed at the darklight bazaar. I've seen you now and then, now that I think about it. But you never order anything. You just get some drinks and listen to people talk shit. [01:18:03] Speaker D: Oh, yeah. [01:18:05] Speaker C: I've never. [01:18:06] Speaker D: The menu didn't look that great. [01:18:09] Speaker G: I don't know if this truce is going to work out. [01:18:12] Speaker C: It needs to work out, because if once again, single length corridor, one of us gets fucked. Unfortunately, it is so much easier for all of us to get fucked. [01:18:27] Speaker G: Unfortunate. I just really do not like you as a person, Laithe. [01:18:34] Speaker C: That's what hate fucking is for. [01:18:36] Speaker G: I do not want to fuck Laithe. I just hate her a lot. [01:18:40] Speaker D: I don't want to be eaten like a praying mantis. [01:18:47] Speaker G: Please get better insults. You've used the cannibalism joke like three times now. That's not even true. [01:18:54] Speaker D: Mm hmm. You're very convincing of that. [01:18:59] Speaker A: This is going to be a very long 5 hours. [01:19:03] Speaker G: Oh, yeah. But. [01:19:06] Speaker D: In the spirit of openness and honesty and trusting each other, I would love to hear more about how you got arrested, Akos. Or why. [01:19:20] Speaker B: Someone sold me out. [01:19:24] Speaker C: For doing what? [01:19:27] Speaker B: Murder. [01:19:34] Speaker C: The laugh is in character. Who'd you kill? [01:19:39] Speaker B: Oh, I've killed so many people. [01:19:45] Speaker C: Do they deserve it? [01:19:49] Speaker B: I mean, it depends on your definition. I believe they deserved it. [01:20:00] Speaker G: Mmm. [01:20:01] Speaker C: Spicy. [01:20:03] Speaker B: Yes. But I'm pretty sure I know who sold me out. So I will find them and got them like a fish. [01:20:13] Speaker E: Goals keep them. [01:20:17] Speaker G: That's none of us, right? [01:20:19] Speaker B: No. [01:20:19] Speaker E: Now, did you sell them out? [01:20:21] Speaker G: No. I just want to make sure that we don't get involved with this. I don't. I don't want more inter party drama than lathe insulting my cooking. [01:20:28] Speaker C: He seems kind of creepy. [01:20:31] Speaker D: Sell them out. [01:20:34] Speaker G: I didn't sell anyone. I'm just a guy. But are you? Yeah, I'm just a little guy. [01:20:41] Speaker C: A little guy who has a little hungry, hungry inside. [01:20:47] Speaker G: Yeah. I love how everyone is talking and now just has a fucking eye mouth of shooting magic and was like, yeah, we're not questioning this weird ass shit. [01:20:58] Speaker A: Honestly. I said exactly one thing about it earlier and that was it. [01:21:04] Speaker G: Everyone's like, no, not worth it. [01:21:07] Speaker B: So at this moment, Alistair and Yuri, you both hear noise in the distance. It first sounds like a bell and then follows up with sound of a lot of people talking very loudly. And then follows up with the sound of fighting. [01:21:36] Speaker E: Is this inside or outside? [01:21:38] Speaker B: It is inside. [01:21:42] Speaker C: We'll look at Akkis and be like, do you still have friends? [01:21:48] Speaker B: It's a possibility. The only people who have heard it so far are Alistair and Yuri. [01:21:53] Speaker E: Oh, it sounds like maybe there's a distraction happening for us. [01:22:01] Speaker F: Yeah, might be a good time to get out of here. [01:22:06] Speaker E: Maybe a riot. Easy to escape during a riot. [01:22:10] Speaker B: Incredibly easy to escape during a riot. [01:22:13] Speaker G: And also, if this is a riot, they're probably threatened security right after. [01:22:17] Speaker B: Yeah, exactly. [01:22:18] Speaker E: No time like the present. [01:22:24] Speaker G: What do you think, man? I'm talking to Gravewink. [01:22:27] Speaker C: Oh, I think someone needs to give me the key. [01:22:31] Speaker G: Oh, wait, I have it. I'll give it to you. I had to catch that spell. Right. I'm just holding this key. I'm like, oh, right. I'll give it to you. [01:22:38] Speaker C: Thank you, chef. And I will go. I will open the door. [01:22:46] Speaker B: Mm hmm. And it's at this point that all of you can hear this sound. The bells are getting louder and louder. It sounds like somebody is ringing bells in every quadrant of this prison. The noise, the sound, it just keeps getting louder. [01:23:07] Speaker E: Akos lead with. [01:23:11] Speaker B: And Akros will step out and start leading as you wind through these corridors. And about halfway down the second one, they are looking around and they go, ah, yes. And they open a door and say, not the way out, but you might want what's in there. It appears to be some sort of storage closet where some basic gear is being kept. [01:23:48] Speaker E: If there is any kind of axe and or sword, I will take that. Or a gun. If they have a gun, I'll bet that, too. [01:23:55] Speaker B: It's not a gun, but you can pick up a. And most of the weapons that are in here are blunt weapons. [01:24:09] Speaker C: I need clothes specifically, like travelers or something like that. And I am also looking for something to obscure my face. [01:24:22] Speaker B: Yeah, there are sets of clothes here. There is what appears to be about four sets of basic leather armor. There are. There is one great club. There are three saps, and there is a couple of sets of clothes. And gravewing, you can take a set of clothes and then probably rip up something else to create some sort of face covering closer to, like, a bandana or something. [01:24:52] Speaker C: Yeah. [01:24:56] Speaker E: Ache one of the great clubs. [01:25:01] Speaker G: A SAP. [01:25:03] Speaker B: Yeah. [01:25:04] Speaker A: I hope I'm efficient in it. I should be efficient. Pretty efficient. [01:25:08] Speaker B: It should be a simple weapon. [01:25:09] Speaker D: It's Marshall. [01:25:10] Speaker B: Is it Marshall? [01:25:11] Speaker A: I can do Marshall? Yeah, I can do Marshall. [01:25:16] Speaker F: I will grab one of those saps. [01:25:19] Speaker D: I will grab the leather armor. [01:25:22] Speaker B: I'll say there's also, like, you can grab a club or something that, you know, it's close enough that, you know, so you know, you have something you can use. But. [01:25:34] Speaker F: But it's all bludgeoning. [01:25:35] Speaker B: Yeah, it's all bludgeoning. [01:25:37] Speaker A: I'll also grab an armor. [01:25:40] Speaker B: Yeah. [01:25:41] Speaker G: Just leather armor. [01:25:42] Speaker A: You said it was. [01:25:43] Speaker E: Is there enough for everyone? [01:25:44] Speaker B: There are four sets. [01:25:46] Speaker C: I don't need, um, armor. [01:25:48] Speaker E: Okay. [01:25:49] Speaker B: And Niall doesn't need it. Either Niall can't wear it. [01:25:52] Speaker G: Yeah. [01:25:53] Speaker E: Perfect. [01:25:53] Speaker B: Or he can. That's just, you know. [01:25:56] Speaker G: Yeah. It will not go very well. [01:25:59] Speaker B: Not been taught how to move in armor. [01:26:01] Speaker F: Yeah, I do get leather armor. [01:26:03] Speaker A: Yes. [01:26:03] Speaker F: I just made myself dying, and I made myself more dying. [01:26:10] Speaker G: Allergic to leather. [01:26:11] Speaker A: It was poisoned all along. [01:26:15] Speaker B: And, you know, if there is one great club left, Akos will sling that over their shoulder. [01:26:21] Speaker A: All right. [01:26:23] Speaker G: Are there any, like, clothes and. Or, like, weird question, like, wrapping bandages? [01:26:28] Speaker B: There are sets of just, like, basic clothing in here. You could probably rip some of those up to create something that would take time. [01:26:37] Speaker G: Okay, never mind. [01:26:38] Speaker B: But you can grab the clothes and keep them for later kind of thing. [01:26:41] Speaker G: Yeah. I'm gonna toss on, like, a. I don't know, something else. [01:26:45] Speaker B: I don't know. [01:26:46] Speaker G: I'm good. Mostly. I just don't want my fucking face hole to be exposed, you know? [01:26:50] Speaker A: Wrap a shirt around your head. [01:26:52] Speaker C: No, after, uh, after. After. After I've put on clothes, I'm gonna take time to go to a corner and spit out the bracelet that you let me keep. Yeah. If you look, you're gonna see, honestly something moving in gravewing's throat. And then she just spits out a whole bracelet with. I forgot what this bracelet looks like. [01:27:30] Speaker B: It's a pretty sort of simple, you know, sort of small thing. It's like, roughly like this kind of, like size. And it is a little filigreed. And then there's a gem inlaid. A blue gem inlaid, I believe. [01:27:49] Speaker G: I'm. [01:27:49] Speaker C: Gonna shake it, and then I'm gonna just put it on. [01:27:54] Speaker B: And mechanically, it gives you a plus one to your kineticist stuff, like your attacks and things. And Aklis will look and just be like, is everyone good? [01:28:07] Speaker D: Yeah, good. [01:28:08] Speaker E: It can be. [01:28:10] Speaker D: Lay it on. [01:28:12] Speaker G: All right, let's go. [01:28:16] Speaker B: And so you start heading down a couple more. You're taking a couple of turns, and in a few hallways down, you turn a corner and suddenly find yourself face to face with a number of guards. They see you and they prepare to attack. But that's the thing that we're gonna get into next time. Session two with combat. [01:28:47] Speaker G: Can I take us out finally, after so long? [01:28:50] Speaker B: Yes, you can. Yes. [01:29:23] Speaker G: How dare you dox the episode. What. [01:29:49] Speaker A: Fear understand every so long? Where's my love from the snow? Ever fleeting? Doctor, my heart keeps on beating? Take my hand? We must face it again? Of the heart dream just the.
