[00:00:00] Speaker A: Foreign. [00:00:09] Speaker B: Welcome to ug. This is going to be a little bit different. This is going to be a special sponsored episode for the the Defy the Gods Kickstarter. So I'm going to toss over to Chris and they'll take it from there. [00:00:25] Speaker A: Hey. Hi. Thanks. So Defy the Gods is a queer sword and sorcery adventure romance set in fantasy ancient Mesopotamia. It's a world ruled by jealous gods and cruel tyrants and gigantic animals and the shadow of Atlantis and death. And these forces are all arrayed against the adventurers who give their heart and reach for cursed power as they try to withstand against these world forces. Or defy the gods. And the characters are start things off. [00:01:07] Speaker B: I'm Aubrey and I'll be playing Kadavro the revenant. And Kadavro uses they them pronouns. [00:01:13] Speaker C: Hi, I'm Faris. I use she, her pronouns. And I am playing Aloysius the sailor who uses Alicia. He she pronouns. [00:01:21] Speaker D: Hi, I'm Aki. My pronouns are she, her, and I'm playing Wabi Sabi the sorcerer who uses any and all pronouns. [00:01:30] Speaker E: And I am Alyssa. My pronouns are they, them. And I'm playing Kiana the sword who uses she any pronouns. [00:01:38] Speaker A: And I should have said I'm Chris. I use she and they pronouns. And my company is hectic Electron games. And the Kickstarter is kick starting on the 29th, which might already be on when you hear this. Cool. So you all are in the coastal city of Kizan Ma, the city of the great festival. It has a lighthouse. Its patron is a griffin. It is known for producing fish and seashell dye and coral. And its coins are made of blessed bone. I don't know where the bone comes from, but we're gonna find out. It has a smuggler's guild, appropriate for a lighthouse city on the coast that moves people, creatures and objects. I think the fish are gonna be a recurring thing. You all had an amulet that Aloysius stole from an Atlantean ruin and stole from the ruin, even though the ghost there did not want to part with it. And you all brought it back to this town and we're fascinated by it. It looks like a ruby on a necklace of pearls and the ruby has a face carved into it, or did. But the features have all smoothed out over the eons because Atlantis was this civilization like 2000 years ago that was beautiful and refined and a totally different creation than humans. But they invented sorcery and the gods turned against their favorites and smote them and destroyed them. And now you can just Find their ruins in lonely places in the wilds out there. And it was one of these ruins that you found the amulet in, and it was these Atlanteans, now gone, heartachingly beautiful, but destroyed, who made this amulet and must have infused some of their weird sorcerer's power into it. But you weren't able to figure out what, because while you were trying to turn it over for some cash, a person named Barstar came, backed up with a bunch of guards and stole it from you. Well, confiscated it. Stole it. And your meal ticket, slash fascinating object of transcendence was gone. And now you're just hanging out in your neighborhood, running out of money. And while you're doing. And each of you has a connection to the amulet that we can go to as it comes up. But while you are stewing over this, there's a tremendous explosion. So you're all drinking in the brothel before it opens, and when there's this big explosion from outside and you can see a strange multicolored smoke rising from a spot a few blocks away, what do you do? [00:05:14] Speaker D: Is the multicolored smoke, like, is that something that is normal? When I say normal, I mean, like, I do magic. That smoke could be smoke from magic, but also there are ways to make fire light different colors. So it's more like, is this, like, oh, are these just like a bunch of lanterns or magical house fire? You know, because of your experience with. [00:05:47] Speaker A: These things, with the forbidden art of sorcery, as well as the subtle secrets of the natural world, you can tell that this is sorceress, this is not natural. [00:06:08] Speaker D: It would appear that there is sorcery afoot that way yonder window. [00:06:20] Speaker C: Aloysius will just refill his drink and have a sip, and does not look ready to get up or move or do anything. [00:06:35] Speaker E: Kiana is sort of draped against you near the same bottle and says, there might be sorcery over there, but there's wine in here. [00:06:44] Speaker C: So. [00:06:49] Speaker B: Going to sort of put down my drink and look over at you, wabisabi, and say, if you want to check it out, I'll go with you. [00:07:06] Speaker D: Nay, let me repeat myself. I said, there is sorcery over there, out yonder window, southwest. [00:07:20] Speaker A: Are you trying to send someone to go check? [00:07:23] Speaker D: No, I'm trying to get us all to go. However, I have a rather hollowed voice, so I would like to think right now I am not giving enough, like, emotion. Like, oh, I want to go, but I don't think I'm projecting that emotion. Like, I just. It sounds like based off of the reception that you guys just heard me say it and we're like, yeah, okay, but no, I want to go, but I want to go with everybody. So I'm trying to sound more. More enthused, you know? [00:07:56] Speaker A: Uh huh, uh huh. [00:07:58] Speaker D: That's what I'm trying to do. I already have one person who will come with me. However, I have two more people that have to come with me. [00:08:08] Speaker C: Darling, if you're so intent on going adventuring, you could at least say, please. [00:08:18] Speaker D: Please come with me. Over yonder, out of the window, beside the window. Southwest. I haven't seen the stars yet. I don't know what direction we're going, but there. [00:08:32] Speaker C: I will be using a door. But I appreciate the options. [00:08:36] Speaker B: I was going to ask if we needed to go through the window or not. [00:08:44] Speaker C: It's too early in the day for windows. [00:08:48] Speaker E: Where's your sense of adventure? [00:08:51] Speaker C: At the bottom of the bottle and we're still at the top. [00:08:56] Speaker E: Kiana will down it until there is just a sip left for Aloysius and then hand it over. [00:09:05] Speaker C: Aloysius will tip it down your throat and then get up. [00:09:13] Speaker D: Now that we have had wine and lesbianism, can we please go out that way? [00:09:23] Speaker E: Yes, little fish, let's go. [00:09:27] Speaker C: But we're not rushing. We're going to walk. [00:09:30] Speaker A: Okay. So as people run past you in the street, you're just sauntering toward adventure. And it doesn't take long to come to where used to be a nest of buildings stacked close on each other, some of them on top of each other. And now it's an open space. And there is a. You can see that there is a palace building itself out of nothing on the grounds of where there used to be this whole city block. And you can see just these enormous granite blocks just placing themselves one on top of the other as these massive walls with a ring of rooms inside and a courtyard inside that start to materialize. And people are standing back. You can see that people who, you know, lived there are scattered out in a ring around this thing, wailing about how their homes and everything they owned are just gone and looking with horror at this pristine, spotless, very sturdy thing being built. [00:11:02] Speaker B: So I'd like to use a move. [00:11:06] Speaker A: Sure. Yeah. [00:11:07] Speaker B: I'd like to use shade witnesses. [00:11:10] Speaker A: Okay. Awesome. [00:11:12] Speaker B: Especially as this is a weird thing that's going on. And it says to choose an epithet and roll. [00:11:25] Speaker A: Right? Yeah. Which epithet are you invoking? [00:11:30] Speaker B: I will invoke who helps friends learn who they are. [00:11:37] Speaker A: Oh, lovely. [00:11:38] Speaker D: You should describe what you look like while you're doing this? [00:11:42] Speaker B: Yes. I am sort of tall and gangly in a way of moving in a way that this body doesn't feel like my own, and I don't truly know how to move in it. I'm wrapped in what is little better than burial rags that cover most of my face and sort of drape around my body as almost as if a cloak or cape skin is sort of dark and splotchy, kind of like partially, maybe, like, gets decomposed, but then something has stopped that process. And if you cannot see my eyes currently, but if you could, they would just be black as the abyss. [00:12:39] Speaker A: Awesome. [00:12:43] Speaker B: So that's gonna start off with the N11. [00:12:47] Speaker A: Oh, excellent. All right. A burning success. So everybody has three epithets. They're worth three different values, and you could roll a miss. A perfect success or a burning success. And you started off with that. That's awesome. So what does it say for a. [00:13:04] Speaker B: Burning success Success on a burning success? I can ask two of the above, but you embrace death too tightly and give plus one heart to someone in the underworld or the God of death. [00:13:19] Speaker A: Sweet. Okay, I'm bringing up the. [00:13:25] Speaker B: The questions that it gives me are, what future danger can I avoid? What would you do here if you were alive? What do you recall about blank? What advantage can we gain over the threat we face? And how can I escape the Golu demons? Next time I'm going to pick what advantage can we gain over the threats we face? And what future danger can I. [00:13:52] Speaker A: Okay, so, okay, these are very good questions. Let me think. The. You can. The advantage you can gain is to. Is that this sorcery is being wielded by amateurs and people not used to sorcery. These shades, these dead mortals, rustle around you, you know, and they say that the power being wielded here is not of this age and is being forced to comply with the orders of its current wielders. But it is an ill fit, and you can. You all have an advantage just because you are more familiar with the strange than whoever is trying to get strange here. And you can avoid danger by rushing to meet it. But, yeah, go ahead. [00:15:37] Speaker B: I'll say to the group, this spell casting is amateurish. Someone doesn't truly know what they've done. And maybe we should pick up the pace. [00:15:55] Speaker E: What does it look like when you're talking to the shades? Are you, like, verbally talking? Are you just sort of dissociating in space what's going on? [00:16:04] Speaker B: I think I'm quietly whispering in a tongue that I truly don't even know what it is. But I instinctually know it and I instinctually know it can talk to all of these shades. So yeah, I just sort of whisper in this sort of sounding harsh and hissing tone. [00:16:32] Speaker E: So while you are doing that some magic bullshit that I don't know how to deal with, Kiana is taking action. She is just a brick wall of a person. Towering, sturdy, short, shorn auburn hair and a single visible stormbright eye. The other one is tucked behind a simple eyepatch. Light brown skin scattered with freckles and a lot of different scars of varying sort of age and providence. He's adorned in dozen of gold piercings, leather armor and thick strings of rope tied around his arms. So the slutty Antom armor in Dragon Inquisition that you get as the dlc, it's like that. But he has a giant very sharp axe sort of casually hefted over one shoulder. And while Kadabro is talking to the spirits, I am going to attempt to cut through the wall with my axe and I specifically have the move cut. The Gordian Knot. When you use violence or brute force to solve a problem that does not lend itself self divorce, I assume that this problem would probably be better solved with magic. You can invoke an epithet and roll. [00:18:02] Speaker A: Okay, hold that thought for just a second. I want to know, Kadavro, who did you give your heart to as a result of clinging to the shades too tightly? Is it somebody you knew in the underworld or is it the God of death itself? [00:18:19] Speaker B: Let's go with the God of death itself. [00:18:21] Speaker E: Okay, don't do that. [00:18:25] Speaker A: Okay. All right, so. All right, so Kiana, go for it. What epithet are you invoking? [00:18:35] Speaker E: I am evoking who leaps first and asks questions later. So it is really pure luck and chance that my actions are lining up with Kadavra's insight. But that is a plus two for me. Yikes. And that is a seven total. [00:18:53] Speaker A: All right, so anybody who has a heart of Kiana's could choose to spend it to bump it up to a success. Otherwise you're. It's going to be a miss and we're going to just. Just savor the failure. [00:19:10] Speaker B: I mean, I have a heart that you are kind of following on advice that I gave. So I will gladly spend that heart so you can get a success. [00:19:21] Speaker D: I was gonna say, would have this been counted as a bolt move or. Well, because I have the spell knight. [00:19:34] Speaker A: No, this one is just Gordian knot. So. [00:19:38] Speaker D: Okay. [00:19:39] Speaker E: It's a special point of move. [00:19:41] Speaker D: That's what I thought. It Was. But I was like, just in case. Let me just throw it out there, guys, I make you strong, so please ask for Skittles. [00:19:51] Speaker A: I have them, and maybe that's still us. Okay, but. So Kadavro stepped in and helped you. Maybe a whisper of a voice of sense as you go about this. So what does a glowing success look like if cut the Gordian knot. [00:20:15] Speaker E: So it actually improves the situation, which I think in this case. Tell me what I'm allowed to do. Either it sort of halts or, like, slows down the growth of this wall, like, in this particular area, or maybe even, like, makes a crack that we would be able to sneak through. Up to you how much I'm able to actually do. [00:20:40] Speaker A: I think that you slice your axe into this wall, and it gives, like, smoke, and this sort of multicolored soot and sparks just come up as this section of the wall, Demetrius, materializes. And you can see that the big stones next to the stones that you cut through are, like, wobbling, like a mirage. So, yeah, you've miraculously managed to damage the permanence of this part of the structure completely. [00:21:28] Speaker E: She will sort of bow and gesture forward a little flippantly to the others in the group. [00:21:38] Speaker C: Yeah. Never one to pass up a challenge, Aloysius is going to just smoothly transition his saunter into a sprint. And I would like to. To bolt. [00:21:55] Speaker A: Okay. All right. Invoke an epithet and roll, which I'm. [00:22:03] Speaker C: Going to invoke the epithet. Epithet of who thirsts for the unknown. [00:22:08] Speaker A: Awesome. [00:22:10] Speaker C: That is nine plus one is ten. [00:22:15] Speaker A: Cool. Ten. So glowing success. So. So, as bolt, you get where you wanted to go, unharmed and ready for what's next. Vaulting past the obstacle. So you are able to. You can tell me what this looks like. But as the brick, as the stones start to try to rematerialize and sew up this insult to their reality, you are able to catapult yourself in and I think even make a path for your friends. And what you find when you're inside is a room with, like, a mystical bonfire, almost like a pool with multicolored smoke just billowing off of its flickering, wavering surface. Almost like fire is there in the middle of this room. And you can see that pieces of this building, rafters and stones, are floating out of the smoke. [00:23:38] Speaker C: Interesting. Yeah. I think Aloysius will make sure to, like, lodge the opening that she tumbled through to make sure it stays open for the rest of them. I forgot to describe Aloysius. [00:23:55] Speaker A: Oh, yes. [00:23:56] Speaker C: Who is. Who is very, very Tall, very hot. Just lots of hard muscle, but in a very, like, compact way, but very agile. And has, like, very tanned skin from being on the waves a lot. And this long, braided, like, sea blue hair that just sort of flies behind them like a flag sometimes. And he is covered in scars. And usually has, like, scale painting along her cheeks. And she's just titty out all the time. At most is wearing, like, a bit of, like, artistically draped netting that covers nothing. It's just there for the vibes. And she's also usually barefoot, I think. And so she's running around barefoot like the city is her ship's rigging. Just leaping around like an acrobat and then somersaulting through this gap and leaving it open behind her. [00:25:15] Speaker A: Love it. Wow. And this is when nobody else follows you. [00:25:24] Speaker B: I'm sure they're fine. [00:25:31] Speaker D: So just bringing it back. [00:25:35] Speaker A: Yes. [00:25:38] Speaker D: A hole was cut into the house or castle structure. And then did everybody jump in, or is it just Aloysius? [00:25:53] Speaker A: Aloysi went first. [00:25:55] Speaker E: Yeah. Everyone else to go through first. [00:25:57] Speaker A: Okay. Yeah. [00:25:59] Speaker C: You would have gotten a very jaunty wink as Aloysius passed you. [00:26:05] Speaker D: So knowing that this magic is amateurish and now has a whole inside the house, I want to know, is there a way for me to undo it? But keep the hole. [00:26:23] Speaker A: Undo the magic. Undo the house. [00:26:26] Speaker D: Undo. Yeah, but. [00:26:28] Speaker A: Oh, but keep the. [00:26:30] Speaker D: But keep the. But keep the giant hole that was cut in. Like, it's like, I want to see if I can make this castle not a castle, because there's. There should. There's no such thing. But also, you know, my friend cut a hole in the wall, and I kind of like the hole in the wall. [00:26:51] Speaker A: But you want the wall to go away. [00:26:55] Speaker D: I mean, the wall could stay if. If it's necessary, because it was. It was made up out of other people's houses. [00:27:03] Speaker A: It looks like it was made up out of light and smoke. [00:27:08] Speaker D: Oh, light and smoke. Okay. Okay. [00:27:11] Speaker A: Yeah. The other people's houses are, like, gone. [00:27:14] Speaker D: Oh, they're gone. Gone. I see. [00:27:16] Speaker A: Yeah, they're gone, gone. [00:27:18] Speaker D: I thought it was like. [00:27:19] Speaker A: I think you can see actually, like, blasted rubble around the perimeter of what used to be these people's houses. The unfired mud brick and then these new pieces of granite and cedar. Never have never been seen in this neighborhood before. Yeah, they're being made out of whole cloth, so to speak. [00:27:42] Speaker D: Okay, okay, okay. See, I. I. Then I miss. I misunderstood it as, like. I mean, the houses are gone because the houses were like, like, transformed into the cast you know? [00:27:54] Speaker A: Yeah, yeah. No, I was. [00:27:55] Speaker D: Yeah. It's like they just took this whole. This whole whole damn neighborhood and was like, what if. You know, like muck. You know, like that kind of thing. That's what I was thinking. [00:28:03] Speaker C: My bad. [00:28:03] Speaker D: My bad. My bad. Yeah, never mind. I'm going in. I'm going in. There's a whole. Somebody also went in. I. I, too, will go in, because that's what we. That's. That's the vibe. That's where the smoke is. I want to see who's doing amateur hour. [00:28:19] Speaker A: And I think, Aloysius, you inside, you. You see a cat walk around the edge of this pool, this smoking pool. A cat that looks very real and not spectral or weird at all and just looks up at you and mews plaintively. [00:28:50] Speaker C: Oh, you're. You've got to get out of here, kitten. [00:28:53] Speaker A: Come on. [00:28:55] Speaker C: Come on, kitty, get. Let's go. No, no. Okay, let's. Let's. Let's not be here. Come along. [00:29:09] Speaker A: And then who was it jumped in next? Was me. Okay. Wabi sabi. Yes. Right. You jump in, and you see Aloysius, who is usually performatively hot, is, like, anxiously holding onto this cat who is meowing anxiously, you know, plaintively. Who does. Who else goes in? [00:29:42] Speaker B: That would be next, because I think Kiana wants to lead up the rear. [00:29:51] Speaker A: Right? You all see this room with rafters being formed above it and this gigantic roiling pool in the middle and all the smoke coming off of it, and it just has a cat. [00:30:04] Speaker B: We've already made a new friend. Auspicious. [00:30:09] Speaker D: Ooh, let me keep it. [00:30:12] Speaker C: We can decide what happens to the cat after the rest of this is solved, because there's a fire right in the middle of this. Like, a colorful fire. [00:30:25] Speaker A: It's like a fire, but it's coming out of a pool of water. [00:30:28] Speaker C: Yeah, yeah, we have fire water. [00:30:31] Speaker A: And Kiana, as you're standing out there outside, a woman who looks older than her years comes up and grabs your arm and says, please, please, my cat was in there. I don't know what happened to her. Please, could you just find her? I've lost everything, but if I don't lose this cat, it will be something. [00:30:56] Speaker E: With a gentleness that Kiana would later deny, she will rest a hand on the wind shoulder and say, yeah, I can get your cat back. Sort of tugs her axe out of the wall and ambles in. [00:31:13] Speaker A: Nice. Aloysius, the cat jumps from your arms into the pool, dives in under the magical surface of the pool and disappears. [00:31:25] Speaker C: Going in going in. [00:31:27] Speaker D: No, no, no. Not yet. Not yet. [00:31:30] Speaker C: Goodbye. [00:31:33] Speaker B: It was good to know you. [00:31:36] Speaker C: Okay. On. I had good feelings. [00:31:41] Speaker D: I wanted to gaze upon the pool and cast scrying. Which I'll still do. I'll still do it. Yes. Whatever happens to our Lius will be good for them. [00:31:53] Speaker B: A learning experience. [00:31:55] Speaker D: Exactly. Imagine the things that we can do with their body left over. And cast scrying. [00:32:05] Speaker A: Okay, which EP are you invoking? [00:32:10] Speaker D: Let's see. I am going to use who bears the mark of impermanence. Yes. I'm also going to use this as an opportunity to just describe what I look like. So Wabi Sabi has a somewhat androgynous look. Their skin is way too pale. I'm talking beyond the Cullens pail. Almost translucent. You can kind of see where their veins meet sometimes. You can see where the bones are. Not because they're skinny, but because that's how pale they are. Most of their skin though is like covered with long robes. Sometimes it's a little off shoulder because we're gay. And it's. The robes also will cover what everybody else in this group would know. Wabi Sabi has very strange features on the rest of their body. Something sort of like whenever they use their. Their shape changing magic, their body likes to keep what they might have been prior when they turn back. So sometimes there's some scales kind of like a fishtail wrapped around one leg. But also there is a wing that crosses over the back and around the stomach. You know, things like that. And they all kind of bear this very bright red tone which can be peeked out when I decide to let my slutty shoulders loose. My hair is very long, very dark. I wear a big fucking hat that looks like a. Like a regular like rice farmer hat. But on the inside. On the inside it's actually like inlaid with a lot of like the scrolls that I want to keep on hand kind of just wrapped around. So it's like I don't got to look too far for my things. Also, if I'm going to get mugged, you're not going to take my shitty hat. And I'm gonna keep that. Actually, I'm gonna keep that rest. I'm gonna keep the rest to myself. If you need another visual, I kind of look like the painted lady spirit from Avatar the Last Airbender. The one that Katara pretends to be in that one episode when she's helping this ungrateful fire version. No, I'm joking. They were going through a rough time, guys. They were Going through a rough time. [00:35:01] Speaker A: Oh, I see it. Yes. [00:35:03] Speaker D: Yeah. But like, that's kind of the general vibe. But I keep that. I keep that a bit more of a masculine ish face, I guess you could say. I just want to say that I have the hips of a woman and the tits of a man and everything else is just there sometimes. And my ever changing form. [00:35:28] Speaker A: Awesome. Awesome. Love it. So roll your dice. [00:35:38] Speaker D: This one should just be 2D6, right? I don't. [00:35:40] Speaker A: Well, which. How. What's the words of your epithet? [00:35:44] Speaker D: The epithet is plus one. [00:35:47] Speaker A: Okay, so roll three dice total. [00:35:48] Speaker D: Three dice, yeah. [00:35:49] Speaker A: Okay. [00:35:49] Speaker D: Thank you. I was like, wait a minute. [00:35:51] Speaker C: Just you. [00:35:51] Speaker A: And only with sorcery. [00:35:53] Speaker D: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Double checking that. And we add them all up together, right? [00:36:01] Speaker A: No, you look for patterns. So if you're trying to do scrying, two of them have to sum to eight. If you're. But tell me what you rolled on the dice. What the individual dice are. [00:36:17] Speaker D: Six and two fives. Because I probably roll very high with my. [00:36:21] Speaker A: Okay, so as a burning success, whatever it is you could do. Oh, what spells did you pick, other than chaos, scrying, and metamorphosis? [00:36:31] Speaker D: I picked Phantasm, might, and summoning. [00:36:36] Speaker A: Awesome. I love that you did summoning. Very elected to get it. [00:36:41] Speaker D: But if you did, I did something because I know I'm going to get it. I already got. I already got two fives. I was all there. [00:36:48] Speaker A: So you could do Phantasm or Mike, or you could do metamorphosis, and whatever you do, it'll be a burning success. [00:37:01] Speaker D: Okay. [00:37:01] Speaker C: Okay. [00:37:05] Speaker A: But you can't do scrying. [00:37:06] Speaker D: Can't do scrying. Yeah. Okay. Okay, that makes sense. That makes sense. I should have put. Put in more dice for the scrying to get the eight. That makes sense. That makes sense. That makes sense. I'll. I'll do might. I'll do might. [00:37:24] Speaker A: Are you giving it to yourself or someone else? You're bestowing it on yourself or one of these others? [00:37:33] Speaker D: Does anybody want the Plus 2 to bolt? But you're. And your fighting move. But a minus two to finesse because it's a burning success. So you. Yeah. [00:37:48] Speaker E: I will overshoot if I have that. [00:37:52] Speaker D: That's why I'm at. That's why I'm asking. Because I think. I think while I'm casting this, I'm. I'm like straight up pulling the water and the fire apart, and they're like physical in my hand, and then I push them together and I turn it to something else and While I'm, like, rubbing it together, like I'm rubbing paste or something like that in my hands. I'm best. I'm, like, looking at us. He's like, who wants to be mighty? Is there no guests? [00:38:19] Speaker B: Volunteer? [00:38:22] Speaker D: Yes. Come, come, come. And when you do, I look at your face, and, like, I'm doing ASMR for TikTok. I just move my hands across your ears, cross your head, down your ears. And I think, my magic always leaves marks on y'all. And those marks stay. And I think I am. You're gonna be mighty, so I think I'm just gonna make you bigger. I make you bull, buff corpse. [00:38:58] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:38:59] Speaker D: You're not. You're not, like, long and gangly anymore. And I give you flesh back. The flesh doesn't look that right, but that's. We don't talk about that. That's okay. [00:39:12] Speaker A: You're like. When Mumra powers up. Okay. Awesome. So I'm backing away from Numra, but you are. You feel this unholy vitality stirred through your body. And Aloysius is still gone. Does anybody miss Alush? [00:39:48] Speaker E: Yeah. I will jump into the. Did I see where Aloysius went? Like, did I catch him jumping into the pool? Okay, then I will jump in after him. [00:40:00] Speaker A: Okay. All right. And the sorcerer and the buff revenant are still there in this sort of steaming, boiling, burning room. And. And you can see through doorways that this palace of giant stones continues to assemble itself. And trying to figure out whether to cut to Aloysius and Kiana. Kiana. You tumble out into a room that is. That is dark, but you can tell. Very well appointed. It has luxurious velvet tapestries and wool blankets. And you see Aloysius there. Aloysius, what are you doing in this room that looks like an aristocrat's bedroom? Where has the cat gotten to? [00:41:21] Speaker C: I'm putting the cat in, like, I don't know, a basket. If there's a basket. There are so many baskets covering the top of it. If it has a lid, perfect. If it doesn't have a lid, we're making a lid. Taking, like, the netting off that she wears as a shirt to, like, cover the top, making a makeshift cat carrier rumbling the whole time about it. [00:41:53] Speaker A: The cat curls up in there and looks totally comfortable, like, this is where they always wanted to be. And you can hear this sort of low rumbling, purr start, like, yeah, finally you figured it out. [00:42:09] Speaker C: Your trouble cat. And. Ah, Kiana. Welcome to my humble abode. Has not actually looked around. Has no idea where he Is right now. [00:42:23] Speaker E: You found it already? Great job. [00:42:26] Speaker A: There are braziers of brass and thick cast bronze. And it's not exactly clear why the pool brought you here, but it's. It's. It's somewhere else anyway. [00:42:55] Speaker C: Is the pool still present? [00:43:02] Speaker A: The pool is present in the ceiling of this room, but it is contracting. [00:43:11] Speaker C: I'm gonna real quick chuck like a random goblet up through the portal to see if it falls immediately back down or if it like, vanishes. [00:43:20] Speaker A: It vanishes. And Kadavro, a lovely golden goblet, clatters out of the pool and lands at your feet. [00:43:34] Speaker C: And then I'm gonna chuck the basket. [00:43:39] Speaker B: Don't catch the basket. [00:43:40] Speaker C: Safe trials. Happy sailing. Please don't die. [00:43:47] Speaker A: Yeah. This. And you can see also on your side, Kadavro and Wabi Sabi that the pool is contracting. And this basket comes out with netting over it and a little ball of demon fur inside of it. Strange. [00:44:17] Speaker B: Do I know the person out there is looking for their cat? [00:44:21] Speaker A: I don't think you do, actually. [00:44:24] Speaker B: Okay. [00:44:25] Speaker A: And the netting falls on top of your head and the cat crawls out of the basket and curls around your shoulders. [00:44:39] Speaker B: May I suggest we move quickly as I point the. The shrinking portal? [00:44:53] Speaker D: I don't. Bobby Sabi is just doing this 100% on purpose. Is that old woman screaming about her cat or was she just like, I'm gonna stop the first and only person I see. [00:45:12] Speaker A: I. You were already inside when she was. When she grabbed Kiana, but you probably heard her wailing about her house, her life savings, her cat. [00:45:28] Speaker D: Let's just give the cat back to the old lady. [00:45:34] Speaker A: Cat does not want to leave Kadabra's buff shoulders cat. [00:45:41] Speaker D: You are a cat. You were domesticated for a reason. I don't know what your survival skills are. And if you come with us into this closing hole, the journey might be perilous. [00:46:05] Speaker A: You. [00:46:07] Speaker D: Excellent argument, I take it. Come with us. [00:46:12] Speaker A: I mean, we'll still. [00:46:13] Speaker B: We'll still return you eventually. [00:46:16] Speaker D: No, I plan to keep it now. [00:46:19] Speaker B: Okay. [00:46:20] Speaker D: The journey might be perilous, but I can make it easier on the cat by making it a bigger cat. [00:46:27] Speaker A: The pool is now about the size of a manhole cover. [00:46:34] Speaker B: Okay, I'm going by going to the portal. [00:46:39] Speaker A: Bobby Sabi is cut off in this side. No, no, no. Wait, wait, wait. [00:46:43] Speaker D: Can you go in? Yes, I will. I was being. I was going to continuing my. My. My. My last set. Like last minute jump in thing. I was doing that. Like I was. I was continuing. But no, once. Once. Kadavuru jumps in, I'll jump in as well, in hopes that now that there's three people down there, if this is like a big drop, I can land on their bodies and live. Like, that was my idea. Like, I don't know how big of a drop this is. And I'm not. I'm not built for all this extra movement. [00:47:23] Speaker C: As soon as you both return and I see the cat, Aloysius is gonna look at you and be like, you brought it back. [00:47:35] Speaker B: Was I not supposed to? [00:47:37] Speaker C: No. Why do you think I threw a cat to a portal? [00:47:41] Speaker D: You come with us. [00:47:44] Speaker C: Did you at least bring the basket back with you? [00:47:47] Speaker B: No, I have your. Yes, it's on my face. [00:47:53] Speaker C: Fine. [00:47:55] Speaker A: Sure. [00:47:56] Speaker C: I'm holding you both personally responsible for the feline. [00:48:02] Speaker B: It just wants to chill with me, so I think we're fine. [00:48:11] Speaker A: So you all see, there's a. It's a large room. It's got a suite of other rooms connected to it. There's also a doorway leading out into a rather fancy hallway. And you can see the. It's getting toward dusk now. And you can see torchlight coming down the hallway. You can't see who's carrying it yet, but the only covering on this doorway is a curtain of wool, strings knotted. And so it's only a matter of time before or whoever has these torches sees you. What do you do? [00:49:07] Speaker D: I cast magic. [00:49:11] Speaker A: Can anyone stop you? [00:49:14] Speaker D: No. But if anybody else wants to go first, go for it. Because if not, I. I got some spells that could work if I don't die. Like. [00:49:30] Speaker A: I don't think anyone's jumping in. So go for it. [00:49:32] Speaker B: No. Go for it. [00:49:32] Speaker D: Yep. Dope, dope. My goal, just so that way we all know Bub table is to cast phantasm because it's on the base, very illusionary, and we got potentially people that don't want us to be here. And I gotta pick an epithet, I'll pick who sees beauty, imperfection in imperfection. So that way I get four dice and a better chance at casting this spell. Two dice, sum of ten. Yep. Got it. [00:50:17] Speaker A: Sweet. [00:50:18] Speaker D: Yeah. Two fives again. [00:50:21] Speaker A: Okay. Did you roll a five and a. [00:50:23] Speaker D: Six or two sixes? No, no, no, no, no. Just. Just two fives for the sum of ten. And then the other two were like three and four. [00:50:35] Speaker A: Okay, good. Yeah, yeah. O take someone's belief about the world and make it manifest briefly fooling mortal senses. Whose belief are you plucking out of the air? I would say that there is a belief redolent in this room of the Right. To have power and a belief in the. The city as a clockwork of laws that works to their benefit. And then, of course, there's the beliefs of your friends here. What kind of phantasm are you trying to pluck out of the surroundings? What kind of illusion? [00:51:30] Speaker D: So what we. With what we know about this strange place in the amateur ness of the magic just kind of suddenly being here? I think it would be better to kind of pluck from. Pluck from one of our beliefs. Yeah. Because there's nothing that really dictates that. For example. It's like a bunch of cops coming around. Right. This could be anything. And also, we are four very weird. I'm pretty sure we're just. We. We got. We got one belief that's gotta scare anybody. I swear. [00:52:16] Speaker A: You're trying to be scary. [00:52:19] Speaker D: I wouldn't say scary. More like I will either take something that is scary that would be like, oh, and then they dip or something that can keep us hidden. [00:52:38] Speaker A: I don't think any of you really believes in hiding as a. As a sort of way of going through the world. But. [00:52:50] Speaker D: I mean, I was gonna say. Technically, I was gonna say. I was gonna say Revenant might. Because isn't that like. Don't they have something in their playbook that's like they're hunting them? [00:53:00] Speaker A: Yeah, it's true. Yeah. The Gala demons. The Gala demons are hunting to try to bring the Revenant back to the underworld that they escaped from. And you can also pull from people's epithets. [00:53:12] Speaker D: Oh, okay. [00:53:13] Speaker A: Describe beliefs about the world. But I think a. You know. Yeah, The. The Revenant Kadabra certainly has a belief that the. Well, you tell me if I'm right. Cadaver. But that. That the Galu demons should not find you. That you don't deserve to be 100 plugged. [00:53:40] Speaker D: Then I'll just. I'll take that one. Then I'll take that one. [00:53:46] Speaker A: Okay. [00:53:46] Speaker D: Because everybody else's epithet is nice and gay, but not what I need right now. Like. [00:53:55] Speaker A: Okay. Yeah. So you all briefly look like marble statues of yourselves. Finely sculpted decorative statues for this room. And you look like you belong. And the torchlight comes closer. And a servant enters the room, parts the curtain of wool strings and holds it open with one hand while holding their torch with the other and gives a little stiff bow. After him comes this. This big buff guy in a really fine woolen cloak and tunic. And Kiana. You recognize it as Bar Sharp that you used to be really close with until he started moving up in the world. And this is the same barter that keeps trying to get you arrested and keeps failing because you just keep killing people. And he enters, and after him comes this older person, a woman in rather gaudily streaked robes. And Bar looks at the servant and says, light the braziers and you may leave. And the servant does so and steps out. And as soon as the servant's torchlight has receded, Bar, sir explodes at the older woman and says, what was that? That wasn't what I expected at all. Do you even know what you're doing here with this thing? And the woman is like, this is not like shearing sheep. This is, this is a delicate matter. Every use of this object is in exploration. I, I, I don't think that you have the right expectations for this art. And Bar continues to blow up. This is not an art. It's an abomination. Yes, Kiana. [00:56:48] Speaker E: While they are having this argument, unfortunately, Kiana does not have what I would call impulse control at all. And so she was upset on seeing Bishar and then hearing this sort of tirade and then learning that this is the person using the item that we rightfully stole gets really upset. And so I think I would like to just sorta attack. Clash. [00:57:18] Speaker A: Sure. [00:57:19] Speaker E: Aiming at the woman specifically, because I maybe still have some feelings about. [00:57:24] Speaker D: Sure. [00:57:25] Speaker A: That you have a move that you can use if you want, where if you're not already in combat and there's somebody at arm's length away from you, you can just kill them without rolling. Do you want to do that or do you want to clash? [00:57:42] Speaker E: I think I wanna do that. So we have this statue of Kiana, and while this woman is being berated verbally by Varshar, suddenly she is berated physically by an axe, sort of cleaving her head from her torso. [00:58:08] Speaker A: Awesome. Yes. She's in the middle of saying, none of you understands this art. It is a delicate thing. I at a just. The next thing Bar shares, the next expression on someone's face is surprise and steel. And you still look like a marble statue, but it's fading. And I think the woman just, of course, slumps in a pile of blood. And there you are standing. And Varshar shouts, kiana. What? What are you doing here? Look, wait. Whatever it is, I'm sorry I sent those people after you, but you killed them, so we're even, Right? [00:59:04] Speaker E: And then you followed it up by stealing from me. We're clearly not even yet. And she sort of hefts the axe. [00:59:14] Speaker A: That was confiscation. Look, there's a real difference. This is the kind of thing I tried to get you to appreciate, but you. I. At any moment, he's going to think to shout for the guards, but so far, he's still caught up in your drama. [00:59:36] Speaker C: Does he have the amulet on him? [00:59:39] Speaker A: No, not that you see. [00:59:42] Speaker E: Does the corpse have the amulet on it that someone else sees? [00:59:46] Speaker A: Not easy. No. No. Let's see. Aloysius, what do you do? [00:59:54] Speaker C: Can I build a bridge between them? [00:59:59] Speaker A: Let's see here. The bridge move you have is. Oh, yeah. Wow. [01:00:04] Speaker C: When you want two people to connect, say how you sing the praises of one to the other and then pick an invoke an epithet and roll. [01:00:14] Speaker A: You know what? Give it a try. [01:00:16] Speaker C: Okay. Yeah, yeah. [01:00:19] Speaker A: So you step from the shadows, and your. Your statue illusion is fading. What do you. How do. How does this play out? [01:00:30] Speaker C: I'm gonna come out, look at them, and then say, oh, Kiana, this is the one that you're always talking so glowingly about. [01:00:43] Speaker A: Okay. [01:00:43] Speaker C: Pick an episode and roll together at night. That's gonna be. Who dips their words in, honey? [01:00:53] Speaker A: Sure. [01:00:54] Speaker C: I. [01:00:55] Speaker A: Sure. [01:00:56] Speaker C: This is gonna be fine. That's a nine. No, that's a ten. [01:01:00] Speaker A: Okay, that's good. That's still a glowing success. Okay. On a glowing success, you built a bridge between them. Who do you want to take a heart from? Whom? [01:01:12] Speaker C: It looks like I give the listener one heart from the other person, or. Oh, no, I see what you're saying now. Yeah. [01:01:17] Speaker D: Yeah. [01:01:18] Speaker C: So I want to give Tiana a heart. [01:01:22] Speaker A: Yes. Okay. So somehow you soften Barshar against. Toward Kiana. Tell me more about what you say. [01:01:35] Speaker C: Oh. Oh. You know, Kiana is always speaking so glowingly of your presence in the city and just how much you have endowed the people with your grace and charm and your eyes, moving insights into everything that you do. Honestly, she never shuts up about you. [01:02:04] Speaker E: Kiana. [01:02:05] Speaker A: Kiana. I. Yeah, I'm sorry. [01:02:07] Speaker D: I just. [01:02:08] Speaker E: Kiana is staring at you like, what the fuck? But knows to keep her mouth shut. [01:02:14] Speaker A: Maybe I do have quite a presence. I've worked hard at it. I didn't know that you appreciated your Kiana. And of course, I do have tremendous endowment that I try to give the city so that it will remember me, but I really. Maybe you've actually started coming around. Kiana. I'm glad the guards didn't kill you. [01:02:48] Speaker E: Well, I'm sure you knew that they wouldn't. Of course. [01:02:53] Speaker A: Of course. Of course, yes. You know, you can see a patch where he must have torn his hair out of the last time, the guards died at your sword, at your axe. [01:03:04] Speaker C: It is remarkable flirting, I must say. Not everyone has the gall it takes to send people to die for their love. Not even like the people's dying love. It's the love of the ones around them. Heartbreaking. I love it. [01:03:20] Speaker A: There has been too much heartbreak between us. Kiana. Devra, what are you doing. [01:03:28] Speaker B: Watching this gay shit? Kind of just staying there, being a statue, because it's just like, what's going on? What are my moves? Can I explore? [01:03:51] Speaker A: Yes, yes. Go for it. What epithet are you invoking? [01:04:03] Speaker B: Who has the strength to. To overcome despair? [01:04:07] Speaker A: Okay. The despair of watching this play out. [01:04:12] Speaker B: Really painful. [01:04:15] Speaker D: Oh, also your. Your bolt two. Like, plus bolt two minus two to finesse. That's gone now because I think we're. The scene is way on, so. [01:04:23] Speaker A: Oh, okay. [01:04:24] Speaker B: I'm knowing it ends. [01:04:25] Speaker D: Yeah, it. It. It ends, I think. What the. Sorry. [01:04:29] Speaker A: I was. I was willing to let it go until, like, you could use it, but. [01:04:34] Speaker D: Oh. Oh, okay. I mean, if the GM says otherwise, I'm not gonna. I'm not gonna fight right now. [01:04:41] Speaker B: Yeah, this is. This is neither a bolt or a finesse. This is an explorer. And that's a seven. [01:04:50] Speaker A: Okay, That's a miss. Awesome. [01:04:55] Speaker B: It's fine. It's just there pretending. [01:04:59] Speaker D: I have a heart on you. I have a heart on you. Yeah, I'll give you one. I'll give you one. Because it's seven, right? So eight will give you a success. Yeah, I'll. I'll. I'll give you one. I'll give you one. I see what you're doing, and I think I hold up the spell, like, a little bit longer so you can still look, you know, like you're blending it with the background. The statue is not moving. It was already here. It's just also over there. Like, that's what I'm doing. Just holding up the spell a little bit longer for you. [01:05:28] Speaker A: Nice. Nice. Okay, so is a success a glowing success? So then ask two of those. [01:05:38] Speaker B: Best way to go from here. And what are the others missing here? [01:05:44] Speaker A: H. The others are missing that. Little portals keep opening and closing in the wall and floor and ceiling like little bubbles, like, the walls are fizzing. And through them, you see different things, like deep cedar forest or a. A dark cave lit with phosphorescence or something that looks familiar that you can't quite place where you've seen it before. Some room or hallway. And these things just keep burping into reality and going away. And the best way to go from here is to find where the amulet is. And on the woman's body there is a bronze key. And I don't want to say where it goes, but it will get you in there, wherever it is. Maybe that's cheating and. [01:07:31] Speaker B: No, I mean seeing this, this, you know, kind of with this information, while they're having this conversation, I just want to try and gently get this key. Don't just ignore the corpse. [01:07:52] Speaker A: Okay? Aki, you're illusion of cadaver just belonging here just makes it so that nobody notices as they pick up the key, take it off the belt of this dead woman. And Varsher is like, well, Kiana, if you. If you came here to make up, then it's about time. I have to say, I'm glad it took you long enough. And you can see that he's like blushing and feels kind of off balance here, even though it's his room in his palace. And he says, so, you know, do you want a drink or something? Can I do anything for you and your friend here? [01:08:59] Speaker C: I do want to like shift so I can make eye contact with Kiana without him really noticing and just like do a little like a little like a little killing the sky gesture. [01:09:18] Speaker E: Unfortunately for you, you did your job too well. My vulnerable heart is very open to flattery. And so rather than that, I will sort of pretend I don't see you, very obviously pretend that I don't see you and say a drink sounds lovely, but surely you have something locked away that the servants don't know about. [01:09:50] Speaker A: Yes, my finest jug of wine all the way from the way from the far city of Badidaya. City of Five rivers, known for their fantastic wine. Yes, I can bring that out for you. Wabi Sabi. What are you doing? [01:10:28] Speaker D: Sadly, I am watching this go down and I'm accepting of most. This is a little too much. I would. So now that I've seen. I've seen that Kadavro has. Has taken a key from the corpse. [01:10:56] Speaker A: Oh, we gotta split the party. We could do that. We. [01:11:00] Speaker D: We could do that. Or. Or I might this up. I want to try using a spell. I'm not gonna say what spell it is just yet. [01:11:15] Speaker A: Right on. [01:11:17] Speaker D: Because I want to see what I roll and then based on what I roll, if I don't get it, then. Then you know, I will, I will, I will. I'll say what I wanted to do and then what I have to do. I have a question, though this is technically the same scene. Can I still use like, Can I use the same epithet like, if I wanted. [01:11:37] Speaker A: Yeah. [01:11:37] Speaker D: Okay. Dope. So I wish to use who sees Beauty and Imperfection again. I'm just gonna. I'm just gonna rolly roll real quick. If you. If you don't. So I got three fours, which is what I needed to do a summoning spell. [01:12:03] Speaker A: Okay. [01:12:04] Speaker D: Yeah. The other one was. The other one was a six, if you need to know that. [01:12:09] Speaker A: No, no, that's good. [01:12:11] Speaker D: I think I still pass, right? [01:12:12] Speaker A: Yeah, yeah, absolutely. [01:12:14] Speaker D: Yeah. [01:12:15] Speaker A: So you call forth a demon or shade in the underworld. You may command them. Once sweats, they can take up to three wounds. Is this a demon or a shade of the underworld? [01:12:42] Speaker D: Oh, what kind of gay do I want to be? You're asking me too many questions here. Now, I was thinking. And you tell me which one fits better. [01:12:55] Speaker A: Okay. [01:12:56] Speaker D: As a sorcerer, I know that sorcery also seeks to inhabit a body. [01:13:04] Speaker A: Yes. [01:13:05] Speaker D: And I have a body. Force it. It's a corpse. So I wanted to see if I could put it in the corpse and kind of make it stay with us for a little bit longer. Kind of help us. [01:13:18] Speaker A: Sure. [01:13:19] Speaker D: Find the amulet. Because in theory, I. I've given it a body. So if. If, in this case, if my. If my command is like, for example, just help us find what we're looking for. You get to keep the body kind of thing. Like. Like. Like a. Like a. Yeah. Change that way. I was wondering if that's how I could use it in this case. [01:13:44] Speaker A: Totally. Totally. [01:13:45] Speaker D: But I'll let. I'll let you pick if it's a shade or a demon. [01:13:48] Speaker A: I feel like I love that. Well, it's a shade then. And it is. I wanna. But I wanna say this attracts attention. [01:13:58] Speaker D: Oh, yeah. Absolutely. I was a statue this whole time, if I may. I was a statue. Statue. Standing like. I was particularly behind the pathetic guy. I forgot his name. [01:14:11] Speaker A: Parishar Farshar. [01:14:12] Speaker D: Thank you. I was behind him. And I'm seeing all this happen. And I just kind of like move my hand to pull. Like, pull at my magic so I can whisper a bunch of things. And once the shade appears, I stop being a statue. I'll hop down and kind of wheelchair. Yeah. Like, gesture to the body for it. My little mumbling eye in some sort of. Maybe ancient Atlantean is what I am using to speak to this shade was like the deal. And if it enters a. Yeah. [01:14:56] Speaker A: The shade is this smoke, like being. That is 8ft tall and has eyes glowing red and it nods at you. You can't really see its facial features or anything because it's Just like smoke. But then it steps over toward the body. It steps over between Kiana and Varshar and just like, dips down into the body and kind of picks it up and puts it on like a coat. And it. Or like, like stands up and. And seals the head up imperfectly. And this happens in full view of Kiana and Bar and of course, Aloysius and. And everybody. And Barcia just stops flirting and. Ah. What? What? What the hell? [01:16:01] Speaker D: Are we not friends? I thought we were friends. [01:16:05] Speaker A: Who the hell are you? [01:16:06] Speaker D: I was here the whole time. Just over there, right by this perch. And how rude of you to not notice. [01:16:15] Speaker A: But he sees you, too. Cadaver, right? [01:16:18] Speaker B: Yeah, we would too, I guess, because the spell is broken. [01:16:24] Speaker A: Kiana, are these oddballs with you? [01:16:30] Speaker E: I've never seen them in my life. [01:16:36] Speaker A: Well, then. Then do. Do me a favor and get rid of them, please. And this abomination this wizard brought back to life. [01:16:50] Speaker B: You're so right. [01:16:51] Speaker C: You know what? You should probably go get the wine and leave because it's going to be so messy. And then when you come back, we can crack it open, see what happens. [01:17:03] Speaker A: You don't have any hearts on this guy, but, Kiana, you do. What do you say to convince Varshar to actually leave his own room while the dead are coming back to life and intruders are in the palace? [01:17:20] Speaker E: She, I think, reaches out a hand towards him and says, you don't want to see this. I'll take care of it. Just like old times. [01:17:33] Speaker A: Thanks. Thank you. Yeah. Good. It's so good to have you back, Kiana. And he just leaves. Jets out of the room. And you all are there with this undead wizard that seems to be worn a bit imperfectly by a spirit inside of it and says, you summoned me. [01:18:04] Speaker D: You may command me once I command you to stay and help us achieve our goal. And then you may leave with the body. [01:18:26] Speaker A: The light of possibility kindles in the dead eyes as she says, what goal? [01:18:36] Speaker D: I wish to have the amulet, but I don't know where it is. [01:18:45] Speaker A: I will find it for you. I feel its call. And after I have found it, I will leave with this body. [01:18:57] Speaker D: Yes. You're so beautiful. You wear this skin so imperfectly. I like the way that it dances on your bones. [01:19:11] Speaker A: Oh, my God. Are you flirting with the Shade in the dead body? [01:19:15] Speaker D: Yeah. Why not? Why not? [01:19:18] Speaker A: Yeah. Okay. Yeah. [01:19:19] Speaker D: You said that it wore it imperfectly, you know, but it's. [01:19:23] Speaker A: That's. [01:19:24] Speaker D: That's like. That's like. That's like the key here. Okay. Why do you think hang out with. [01:19:27] Speaker B: These bozos the normal night with all those ghosts. [01:19:32] Speaker A: Okay. Pick an epithet and roll to entice. [01:19:36] Speaker D: Beauty and imperfection. [01:19:38] Speaker A: Sorry, I forgot about that when I said that. Yeah, I was like. [01:19:42] Speaker D: I was like. You said the word and I was like, huh? So I'm sorry, what am I. I'm rolling. [01:19:50] Speaker A: You gotta pick it up. That first and then. Yeah. Oh, well, of course it's gonna be. Who sees the beauty and imperfection? Right? [01:19:57] Speaker D: Yeah. [01:20:00] Speaker A: It's entice. [01:20:01] Speaker D: Entice. Right. Yeah. So. Oh, I haven't done a regular this whole time. Yes. It's just. Actually two D sixes plus a flat number. [01:20:15] Speaker A: Yeah. [01:20:16] Speaker D: Thank you. Wait, What? You get 12. I did this. I did this. And then I got scared because I keep thinking it's magic. And I was like, oh, they're just gonna. They're just gonna kill me now. [01:20:35] Speaker A: Your first normal move. So when you appeal to someone's physical or emotional sensibilities, on and on a burning success, you. You invoke an effort and rule on a burning success. You get in over your head. You get a heart from the dead person in the body and choose one from the glowing success list and one from the burning success list. [01:21:04] Speaker D: Oh, that's so spicy. These are very spicy. Oh, I. I want to. I want to spark a sublime, exalting passion. I want to mark fire. Both of us mark fire. [01:21:17] Speaker A: Okay. All right. Oh, I have misread my own rules. I'm supposed to choose. They're supposed to choose, but I like that. Okay, so they will. So they. All right. It will mark fire, and you get to mark fire, and it will. Which one were you picking from the first list? I was just gonna say betray a world forest for your sake. Let's do that one. [01:21:53] Speaker D: Sorry, which one? [01:21:55] Speaker A: So you. So I get to pick one from the glowing success list in Entice, which is get flustered and off balance, Betray a world force for your sake, or give in to their desire. And I think it'll be really good to. If they betray the secrets of Atlantis for your sake and. But they have a heart of yours. Oh, no, no, no, no. You picked the other one. So they mark fire, and you mark fire. Okay, so. So they sort of flex their fingers. Their new fingers and crick their new neck. And they say, you are different. You are the kind of person that would have been right at home in my old world, the one that the gods destroyed for exactly this kind of meddling. I feel a kindred spirit here. I will show you the amulet. I will take you there. There's no time to lose. Let's go. And I think, starts to walk out of the room and stops and sees you, Kadavro. And stops and says, oh, it's you. [01:23:21] Speaker B: It's me. [01:23:23] Speaker A: I haven't seen you in forever. [01:23:31] Speaker B: Yeah, it's been a while. [01:23:37] Speaker A: When you escaped from Land of the Dead, everything became more dull and gray down there. But I never thought in a million years that I would see the sunlight again and see you in it. [01:23:58] Speaker B: It's a beautiful sight, isn't it? [01:24:01] Speaker A: I mean, you've looked better, but it's still lovely to see you. I'm sorry I was always too frank. I. [01:24:15] Speaker B: It's okay. This new body has taken some time to get used to. [01:24:22] Speaker A: I, I, I, I bet you, you used to be all. All blue and gold. I, I remember you. Before death was. I don't know if you remember me. [01:24:48] Speaker B: My memory is fragmented. I remember things, but I don't always remember the contexts. [01:25:01] Speaker A: I used to be called Liliz and you used to be called Adiran. [01:25:12] Speaker B: Adiran in the old world, the name is familiar. Like a memory you've forgotten. [01:25:25] Speaker A: I may, through the work of this very unusual, unlikely person over here, waves at Bobby Sabi. I may actually get the chance to help you remember. But I have a command I must fulfill. So let us go. [01:25:49] Speaker B: Let's. We can. We have plenty of time. [01:25:55] Speaker A: I used to think that. I don't think that anymore, now that I've gotten to escape the underworld. And she strides out of the room and, you know, it was probably weird getting these words from a woman whose head was split in two and who's just sort of really trying through willpower just to keep it together, literally. But she turns and she strides out of the room and like a hunting dog, just turns left and goes down this perpendicular hallway and goes until she finds an archway that leads out into a staircase. And the staircase is in this enormous central plaza, like an atrium in this palace. And you can see now that you are on the third story of this building, and that the atrium goes to the first full height of the building. And there are people milling about, servants and functionaries running across the courtyard. And you can see somewhere down there, coming out of the doorway, bar shar with a large clay amphora stopper to the top. And. And this staircase is, you know, on one side is the inner wall of the atrium, and on the other side it just is sheer down to the bottom of the courtyard. And this dead woman just starts walking down the staircase with no guile or sense of secrecy about. About this. What do you do? Wabi sabi. What do you do with this? [01:28:03] Speaker D: Well, I'm. I'm enjoying the view. I'm. I was listening intently. These are the things that I want to hear that I like hearing. This is exactly what I. What. What my interests are in as well. So I. I mean, I did give them a command, so it's in my best interest in. It is in my best interest to follow with that. But, like, just as a clarifying thing, Aloysius and Kiana are still here before we. Like, you're all together. Yeah, we're all together. I'll turn to them. You're gonna keep that wet guy. [01:28:50] Speaker C: Oh, God, no. [01:28:53] Speaker A: Are we? [01:28:55] Speaker C: No. [01:28:57] Speaker D: Will you keep them distracted? We can search. [01:29:12] Speaker C: That's up to Kiana's preference. [01:29:18] Speaker E: My preference? You're the one who arranged it as a bit. [01:29:22] Speaker C: I was gonna throw him out the window. [01:29:26] Speaker A: But he's three stories down coming out of this archway with amphora. I don't think he's seen you yet, but pretty soon the servants are going to notice the wizard woman with a cleft pate, and things are going to get chansey. Aloysius, are you just going along with this? [01:29:58] Speaker C: I'm following Kiana's lead, and if they don't give one, then we'll probably leave them to it. [01:30:13] Speaker E: Yeah, I think that Kiana sort of glances down the atrium, sees him with the giant amphora, and says, I mean, I finished up that last bottle. You deserve some of this one. [01:30:36] Speaker C: Tempting. Tempting, to be sure. But he's also something of a wet rat of a man. You know what I mean? [01:30:44] Speaker E: You're a sailor. I thought you liked them wet. [01:30:47] Speaker A: Yeah, they're not rats. [01:30:52] Speaker E: Sort of looks at you a little dubiously, having seen some of your other partners. [01:30:57] Speaker C: Some were literal rats. [01:30:59] Speaker A: I don't know if. [01:30:59] Speaker C: Are there rat men in this world? I don't know. [01:31:06] Speaker A: Cadavro, the cat jumps down from your shoulders and scurries on ahead of the group down the stairs and starts meowing at the closest staff member that she sees. And the wizard woman with the split skull says, it's this way. All the way down through that doorway. He's just talking loudly. [01:31:49] Speaker C: We really should put a hat on that one. [01:31:53] Speaker D: I am going now. Drink his liquor. Wet his dick. Do as you wish, Wes. And. And. And. And I'm going to. [01:32:04] Speaker B: I'm also going. Have fun. [01:32:09] Speaker A: And. [01:32:12] Speaker D: For. For reference, I will go and, like, kind of link arms with wizard. The shade wizard woman. Yeah, I was we gotta get a name for him. [01:32:22] Speaker A: Yeah, we need a name. Okay. Idama was the name of the woman. Oh, the name. The name of the ghost was Liz. [01:32:35] Speaker C: Yeah. [01:32:37] Speaker D: Spelling. [01:32:38] Speaker A: Can. [01:32:38] Speaker D: Can you type that? [01:32:39] Speaker A: Oh, L, I, L, I, C. Yeah. Here. [01:32:44] Speaker D: Liz. Okay. Okay. Okay. Yeah. I'm going to go. I'm going to go link arms with lilies. So that way they're not entirely top. Toppling over. And when I see that their skull is kind of super visible. Yeah, I like it. But I know that everybody else, you know, they want, like, that perfect symmetry. They want that Chris Hemsworth face. So I. I will take off my hat, put my hat on them, and just be like, like, So. I like your. I like your very loud, extremely booming voice. [01:33:39] Speaker A: Thank you. [01:33:41] Speaker D: But we might attract unwanted attention. [01:33:51] Speaker A: I have not had a Voice In. In 2000 years. I cannot tell you how great it is to have a voice. It is amazing. You have a lot of spells in here. Oh, what does this one? Do you know a spell? I don't know yet. Okay. [01:34:09] Speaker D: Oh, you're reading my hat. I was so confused. [01:34:12] Speaker A: Yes, yes, yes, yes. Why do you keep spells in your hat? Still talking full volume. And like a servant walking by with an amphora, just drops it and grain breaks, you know, breaks. Grain spills out all over the courtyard floor. And another one sees this and hears what's going on. And you successfully hid the split skull. It was great. But the. The wizard is just saying all this stuff, which I guess is actually not that weird for the wizard woman because she was a wizard. [01:34:56] Speaker D: Yeah, no, at this point, I'm just playing along. Once more people show up because it just looks like we're two hot wizards. Exactly. We're talking about magic. I'm with some. Somebody who look who. Who was hired to be here. So if anything, I just look like I'm helping, like I'm helping the help. And. And Kadavro is with us. [01:35:21] Speaker A: Jacked. [01:35:22] Speaker D: That's our bodyguard. So now we look like we belong here. I'm gonna argue that that's serious. [01:35:30] Speaker A: I like it. I like it. Sure. Yes, yes, yes. You all go down through. Through this doorway and into a dark corridor. Without raising the alarm, Barshar comes toward you, Kiana, and says, I found it. I found it. [01:35:51] Speaker E: Lovely. Well, your room's a bit of a mess now, so is there somewhere else we could partake? [01:35:58] Speaker A: Yes, there is, actually. Come with me. And he's doing his best Lothario voice, and it's really kind of sad, but you can see, like, this whole palace is kind of his man cave. And he's like, I have a special room. I'm glad you're actually going to get to see it. I've thought of you in this room so many times. It's a little short of help right now, but you and I, we can make our own magical evening. And leads you through the same doorway. And you all can hear that these people you were trying to leave behind are following you. So, Wabi, Sabi, and Kadavra, you can hear your friends following you. Varsher hasn't seen you yet. It is rather dark, and the wizard woman doesn't need a light to see. See? And just takes you down a further flight of stairs into the pitch black dark. And says, it's up here. And Barter says, was that. Was that the wizard? [01:37:38] Speaker C: I'm gonna kiss. [01:37:44] Speaker E: I'm gonna catch the bottle. [01:37:47] Speaker C: It's dark, so you can't see Aloysia's expression, but it's like, dang it. And then just kisses. [01:37:55] Speaker A: Okay, Roll to entice. [01:37:58] Speaker C: Yeah, yeah, yeah. Let's do that. [01:38:02] Speaker A: What episode are you invoking? [01:38:05] Speaker C: What? What indeed. I guess I can't dip my words in honey here. Sounds like you're going to thirst for the unknown. [01:38:17] Speaker E: Oh, so this is a kiss out of thirst. [01:38:22] Speaker C: Thirst for the angora. Oh, that's really cool. And it's not technically out of the tray, so I'm going to keep it. My dice bounced up onto the edge of my tray and landed perfectly, so it did a little flip for me. That was cute. That's gonna be a 8. Just barely a success. [01:38:43] Speaker A: Perfect. All right. You get a heart from Varshar. [01:38:49] Speaker C: Just who I wanted it from. [01:38:51] Speaker A: Yeah. Who gets flustered and off balance and forgets whatever he was saying before and says you're. Wow. Well, actually, at first, he doesn't say anything because you locked lips with him. [01:39:08] Speaker C: I'm gonna also, like, be waving Kiana, like, along, not in, like, a you're not invited way. In a, like, go make sure they're handled and aren't gonna get caught kind of way. [01:39:24] Speaker A: It is totally up to you when you release this man. [01:39:33] Speaker C: As long as it takes. He doesn't seem hard to impress. [01:39:37] Speaker A: No, no, no. It's. He's got all this wealth and power and influence, but he's actually an easy mark. And, you know, I mean, listen, if. [01:39:55] Speaker C: I can pick his pocket while I'm at it, I will. [01:39:58] Speaker A: Sure, yeah, yeah, Absolutely. It's pouches in this day and age. But you can cut his purse. I think he's got a little Bit of walking around bones. And yeah, he's getting into the embrace. You. You. You've got his money, and I'm assuming a certain point, you let him down easy. [01:40:34] Speaker C: If there's not a convenient window nearby. Yeah, I guess he can go down easy. [01:40:40] Speaker E: Go down easy or let him down hard. [01:40:43] Speaker C: Kiana, listen, Aloysius a wee bit jealous, especially because this. This is the guy. Are you kidding me? [01:40:56] Speaker E: Yeah. Kiana will this time follow Aloysius orders, suggestions, hand gestures. So I think she, like, sort of gently eases the emphora out of his hands when he is getting kissed and will then take it and sort of balance it on her hip as she saunters down, away after the other two, plus the shade. [01:41:22] Speaker A: Do you take a torch? There is one to hand. [01:41:26] Speaker E: Sure. Yeah. [01:41:27] Speaker A: Okay. [01:41:28] Speaker B: All right. [01:41:29] Speaker A: Then a little bit of light dawns on you, Cadavro and Wabi Sabi from behind. And you can see a little bit where you're going. These slick stone steps as everything gets damp down here. And it is a. It's a narrow passage. Doesn't look like people come down here very often. And the wizard woman is, like, striding ahead and gets to a door and stops in front of it and just like, you know, like, bumps into it with her nose and just says, it's in here. I. I can't get in. Aloysius, what are you up to up top? [01:42:47] Speaker C: I want to get him turned around and going the wrong way. [01:42:52] Speaker A: Okay. [01:42:53] Speaker C: Also because you said it's dark, right? [01:42:55] Speaker A: It's. It is. It's dim. [01:42:57] Speaker C: So I want him turned around going the wrong way in the opposite direction. I'm going. [01:43:01] Speaker A: Okay. All right. [01:43:03] Speaker C: I could, if so inclined, use escape artist. [01:43:09] Speaker A: Well, you have a heart of his, so you could just give him the push by spending that heart. [01:43:16] Speaker D: Yeah, sure. [01:43:17] Speaker A: Okay. [01:43:17] Speaker C: All right. [01:43:18] Speaker A: If you want to spend it now, otherwise, you know. [01:43:20] Speaker C: No, no. I feel like I can get another one pretty easily if I have to, so. At least from this guy. [01:43:30] Speaker A: So. Yeah. So. Whoa. Hi. I guess I could show you my special chamber, too. [01:43:40] Speaker C: Wonderful. We love a chamber around here. [01:43:46] Speaker A: Which way were we going? [01:43:48] Speaker C: Mm, you're right. That's the one. As you were to your chamber. Chamber it up. [01:44:00] Speaker A: Right this way. And he starts walking the other way down the hallway. [01:44:06] Speaker C: I'm right behind you. So excited. [01:44:11] Speaker A: There is actually another stairway going down the opposite direction. Direction. And he just goes down it. Like, I can't wait for you to see all the accessories. [01:44:25] Speaker C: Alex is going to, like, listen to him go down this other stairway and then just kind of be like, there's no way that loops around and kind of go find the rest of the group. [01:44:40] Speaker A: So the. The Bashar has walked off another direction. Aloysius, are you catching up to the others or what? Are you. [01:44:52] Speaker C: Yeah, I'm gonna go find Kiana, and hopefully Kiana has found the rest. [01:44:59] Speaker A: Okay. [01:44:59] Speaker C: And like, as I catch Kiana, I'm going to grab the amphora and take a swig because apparently the man tasted like ham and wood smoke. [01:45:08] Speaker A: Yeah, I dropped that in the pause. It is really good wine. I guess that city of five rivers really does have really good wine. [01:45:27] Speaker C: Damn. You try this yet? [01:45:33] Speaker E: I was waiting for you. [01:45:34] Speaker A: Oh, but, like, in. In this day and age, people don't usually drink the wine straight from the amphora. They water it down. So this is really strong and unfiltered, and so it's kind of going to your head a little bit. [01:45:54] Speaker C: I'm gonna do something very gay. Very gay. Okay. I'm gonna take another swig and then offer to kiss Kiana with the swig. [01:46:04] Speaker E: I was gonna do the same thing, so. Good. Great. [01:46:07] Speaker D: All right, let's go. [01:46:08] Speaker E: Same page? [01:46:11] Speaker A: Yeah. It tastes even better with your best friend's lips on the other side of it. So, yeah, that is. I'm gonna say, give each other another heart. Unless you object. But that. Yeah, that is. Suddenly the night's looking up. [01:46:39] Speaker E: You know we're right against your lips. Kiana will say, see now, isn't that worth it? [01:46:47] Speaker C: All right, when you write your right. [01:46:52] Speaker A: So you all are in the palace of one of the most powerful people in the city, and you're apparently headed for the dungeon in that palace. And the guy is a total drip. But you have this excellent wine. Lila's the undead wizard sorcerer is coming to this door, and the farmer's hat bumps down onto her face, and she, just as if she was an automaton, just keeps trying to walk into the door and says, they keep it in here. I can't get in. They keep it in here. I can't get in. [01:47:40] Speaker D: Oh, yes. You're not used to being physical again. One second, I'm going to take their hand and just show them that there's a door handle. But, like, also let them, like, feel up the, like, door for a second. Just be like, that's solid. You can't go through that anymore. [01:48:03] Speaker A: Oh, all right. Well, my work here is done. You all can take it from here. I'm gonna see what this body can do. Adira, are you staying with them or you do. You do you Want to come with me? Looks at you, Kadabra. [01:48:35] Speaker B: I. At other times I think I would, but I need to at least make sure my friends stay safe. [01:48:48] Speaker A: Alright, well, I'm sure I'll be able to find you. I think my spirit will be drawn to yours. Try not to get caught by the demons and sent back to the underworld. [01:49:01] Speaker B: I'm doing my best. [01:49:04] Speaker A: I would hate for eternity to separate us again. In the meantime, the world is small. I'm sure, I'm sure I will be able to find you. And the Liliz takes the hat off, drops it on the the ground and mumbling to herself, walks, tries to walk past all of you, down in this tiny little corridor with a closed oak door on one side and a stone staircase on the other and tries to walk back up the stairs. Wabi Sabi. What do you think? Think of this. [01:49:57] Speaker D: Half of me is like, yeah, you go, do you enjoy that body? The other half is like, well, you are in a body where it's like you should. You for the most part, you can probably get by in here and leave no problem. But your head is cracked open, so I wonder. I'm going to try and cast magic real quick before they go. [01:50:30] Speaker A: Okay. [01:50:35] Speaker D: And I got. Pick an epithet. I'll take the. Who bears the mark of impermanence because this will leave a mark. [01:50:49] Speaker A: Awesome. [01:50:50] Speaker D: Yeah. So please be good. Okay. That is what I need. [01:50:58] Speaker A: Excellent. [01:50:58] Speaker D: That is what I need. It's eight is still a success, right? [01:51:04] Speaker A: Hey, well, as long as you don't roll five and six or two sixes and you match because you're casting a spell. [01:51:13] Speaker D: I'm casting metamorphosis. [01:51:15] Speaker A: Okay, cool. Yeah. If you match the pattern that you need, which for metamorphosis, two dice of equal value. [01:51:21] Speaker D: I got two fours. [01:51:22] Speaker A: Great, yeah, yeah. Then yeah, you can do metamorphosis and it's not a burning success. [01:51:27] Speaker D: Awesome, awesome, awesome. Okay, so I can transform myself or a mortal or a creature. Does I should have asked this before. Does l count as a creature? [01:51:44] Speaker A: Lil's body counts as immortal. [01:51:48] Speaker D: Okay, okay, then I can still. I could still use the. Do the spell on them then. [01:51:52] Speaker A: Yeah, yeah. [01:51:53] Speaker D: Okay, so before they go, I am just gonna be like, oh, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. One second, one second. Come back here, come back here. [01:52:01] Speaker A: You don't command me anymore. But, but it's not resisting hard, like. [01:52:07] Speaker D: Yeah, I know, but your head is. Most mortals don't have their skulls on display. [01:52:17] Speaker A: Oh, and like reaches up and touches her forehead and brings it back down and she's the blood on it. Like taste it. Oh, that's. That's new. Our blood didn't taste like this. [01:52:35] Speaker D: What did your blood taste like? And while they're, and while I'm asking this question, that's how I'm like casting the spell. I'm using their blood. I'm pulling it like string and I'm stitching up their face. [01:52:46] Speaker A: Uhhuh. They're going to have blood restraint. Love it. [01:52:49] Speaker D: Yeah, exactly. And it's just, it's just gonna, it's, it's just gonna stitch the flesh together all the way up. Nice. But it will leave like a scar like that's like fully down. Like however, however far down. Like they were like, they're, they're like skull was like cracked open. So however, however the, the, the, the, the scar should. And I, we haven't been anywhere where I could do this yet. But I like to think that all of the scars and stuff that I have, that came from my magic on myself, like have a bioluminescence about them. So that's what's going to happen to lilies. Like later I guess they'll be like, oh, what's this? Oops. Which, which sucks for y'all because unfortunately it means I'm like a little glow light here at night. That's okay. Just wrap me up in a towel or something. [01:53:49] Speaker A: That's awesome. Yes, totally. It is glowing. This glowing line down her forehead and sort of to one side of her nose. But she's saying our, our blood tasted like rock candy. This is salty like iron. Oh, thank you. Thank you for that. All right, I'm going now. [01:54:21] Speaker D: Yes, now you can go. [01:54:25] Speaker A: And doesn't look back. Just walks on up into her new life. And. And you all are down there alone in front of this door. And Kadavro, I think you have a key. [01:54:44] Speaker B: Yes, I do. So I'm gonna unlock that door with said key. [01:54:48] Speaker A: All right, you unlock the door. And it is a. It's a wizard's workshop, a sorcerer's workshop where the walls are covered in inscriptions. Like clay has been put on top of these stone walls and been inscribed in, just covered in words in what wabi sabi you recognize as Atlantean, with string connecting some of the words on the walls to this half height block of stone in the middle that has like a little silver collar and plate on it there. And all these strings are connecting words of power to this silver dish that the amulet is not on. And you can see that somebody has dug a tunnel into this room, you know, from underneath and the, the, the amulet is gone. [01:56:35] Speaker B: That's unfortunate. [01:56:48] Speaker D: Bobby Savage does exactly what I'm doing. Hands are clasped together, pressed against their, like, lips, and then they just move it down their face and open both palms like, what the. But I look at aloishes. Do you want to jump that down that hole? [01:57:13] Speaker C: For you, my dear. I'll jump down anyhow. And I will. [01:57:19] Speaker D: Wait, not right now. Let's look around the room first. I just mean, could you do it later? [01:57:28] Speaker C: This had a cool line and everything. [01:57:30] Speaker D: You did, you did. And I'm swooned. [01:57:37] Speaker C: Losing my double entendre Goodness. [01:57:40] Speaker D: You want me to swoon? I, I, I am swooned. I can. [01:57:48] Speaker C: We'Ll, we'll, we'll, we'll redo it later when the moment's right. [01:57:52] Speaker D: Okay, but you're cute. [01:57:56] Speaker C: I was gonna, like, you know, like, brush their finger, like, finger along your chin. You know, the thing, the little. I'm gesturing and it's useless in a podcast format, but you all know what I mean. [01:58:07] Speaker A: Yeah, totally. [01:58:08] Speaker C: Thumb gesture against the chin, I think. [01:58:12] Speaker A: I, I, I think that alo, she should still get a heart from Wapi Sabi, but I'll keep track in case you get four hearts. But don't worry, okay? Don't worry. [01:58:27] Speaker C: I have faith in me. [01:58:29] Speaker A: Me too. You can also see that there are alcoves in this room, and in one of them, the, the floor is disturbed and there's all these, like, spectral multicolored trees, like birch trees that have grown up and they have some of the same look, those, you know, giant blocks that were making the building in your neighborhood, where they look kind of like they're made of smoke. The cat seems to have caught up with you and is poking around, and the cat, like, rubs herself against the trunk of the tree, and you can see that it starts to, the tree starts to flake apart and turn to smoke again. [01:59:37] Speaker C: I'm gonna pick up the cat, hold it in front of Wabi Sabi, and just ask. Are we sure this isn't an Atlantean cat? [01:59:49] Speaker D: May I vibe check this cat? [01:59:52] Speaker A: Yes. [01:59:56] Speaker D: Okay. Okay, I guess figure out. [02:00:01] Speaker A: Yeah, figure out. [02:00:02] Speaker D: Yeah. Oh, I gotta pick, I gotta pick. [02:00:07] Speaker A: Yeah. Picking up a pet who bears the. [02:00:11] Speaker D: Mark of impermanence makes sense to me because I'm, I'm trying to suss them out in a specific way. [02:00:21] Speaker A: Yeah. In Best Story Gamer style, you all are not picking the one that's worth the most. You're just going with the one that, you know, fits best. I think that's great. Right. [02:00:41] Speaker D: Sorry again. I keep forgetting. Pick the highest, right? Because up until now, I've just been looking for. I'm like, do these match? Do these. [02:00:48] Speaker A: No, that's perfect. No, I love it. Yeah, that's exactly what I would want. So what. What was your result? [02:00:56] Speaker D: I have four, three, and a five. [02:00:59] Speaker A: So I think that's. No, no, sorry. This is a regular move. So you just roll 2d6 and. [02:01:07] Speaker D: Oh, yes. Oh, my God. [02:01:09] Speaker A: And add the number. I love that. You're just so much in the sorcery world. [02:01:13] Speaker D: Yeah. Oh, God, I'm sorry. I'm thinking too hard. [02:01:17] Speaker A: Although we could roll with that, but. No, no, no. Do your roll. Do the move you wanted to do. [02:01:21] Speaker D: I was gonna say if we want to roll with that, technically, I have two dice that equal to the sum of eight, so I could do scrying. [02:01:27] Speaker A: Yeah, okay. Yeah. Like you go to figure out the cat, and then without even thinking about it, you're scrying. [02:01:35] Speaker D: Yeah, yeah, yeah. [02:01:37] Speaker A: Whip out your mirror and look at the cat in its reflection. And in the reflection, the cat is a. A large woman with a head of a black cat and jewelry all over your chest. And her piercing her cat ears. And just looks at you through the reflection. It says. What? What? Is there something on my face? [02:02:30] Speaker D: Oh, hello, beautiful. Do you know what you look like to us? [02:02:40] Speaker A: Oh, God. You can see me, can't you? [02:02:42] Speaker D: I can. [02:02:53] Speaker A: You. You will never find the amulet. You must never have the amulet. The amulet is mine. It will be mine. And the cat. The. The cat. Not in the reflection, meows and runs down the hallway down the tunnel. [02:03:20] Speaker D: The cat wants the amulet. [02:03:24] Speaker B: Why does the cat want the amulet? [02:03:26] Speaker D: It's not a cat. I mean, she had a cat head with the rest of her body. Mm. [02:03:34] Speaker C: Mm. [02:03:35] Speaker D: Lots of jewelry too. [02:03:37] Speaker B: Range. [02:03:40] Speaker C: So are we. Are we picking up fight or are we seducing our way out of this? Or are we just letting bygones be got Bygones. And robbing bush, whatever his name is, out of all of his wealth and jewels. Honestly, I'm kind of fine with the last one. [02:04:03] Speaker A: And. [02:04:06] Speaker D: That'S a good point. [02:04:12] Speaker A: This is a world of a lot of gods and is a city with temples to three gods. And this cat, I want to say, looks like an idol that you once saw. Card of Anzu, the goddess of beauty, Beasts, boundaries and mirrors. [02:04:33] Speaker D: That's the God I made. [02:04:35] Speaker A: Oh, excellent. [02:04:37] Speaker D: I was feeling some type of way, and I just need you to know I almost put cats, so I thought, this is so funny. And I was like, I'm going to keep this cat just because this is a good reference, like an inside one for me. But now I know it's fucking Anzu. That's hilarious. I even found that with the mirror. Oh, my God. [02:05:03] Speaker A: Yeah, it worked out. [02:05:05] Speaker D: It did. It did. [02:05:07] Speaker A: So Aloish's question stands. It's a good question. [02:05:18] Speaker B: Yes, well. [02:05:32] Speaker D: I like the money. We need the money. [02:05:36] Speaker B: We really do need the money. [02:05:38] Speaker D: But if we rob. If we rob him, you're not gonna be soft on him, are you? [02:05:47] Speaker C: Me? [02:05:48] Speaker D: You and Kiana. You guys were supposed to get wet. [02:05:57] Speaker C: Moisture was exchanged, but not in a way that makes me feel any sort of remorse over robbing him completely out of every little tiny little gem and jewel and gold and bone. I actually already have. And Eloish is going to hold up the. [02:06:20] Speaker A: The. [02:06:21] Speaker C: The pouch that I just remembered. [02:06:25] Speaker A: You did. You totally did. [02:06:29] Speaker C: I've got a head start, so we might as well finish the job. Let the gods have the amulets. Yeah, he's bound to have more Atlantean things around here anyway that are better and more interesting than something that has. [02:06:42] Speaker B: A gonna get us killed because people. More people want them and are willing to kill for them. [02:06:48] Speaker A: Probably not. [02:06:49] Speaker C: Maybe one just to keep things exciting. [02:06:54] Speaker B: Sure. [02:06:56] Speaker D: We've been killing tons for them. There is no difference. Don't be soft now, Kiana, how are. [02:07:09] Speaker A: You feeling about this? [02:07:11] Speaker E: Yeah, I mean, Kiana, I am fine with robbing him. And I've been killing the guards that he sent after me since we broke up, so robbing anything we can get from this little palace is not much different, I think, from status quo. [02:07:35] Speaker A: Okay, in this room, the only thing of literal value is the silver dish that's on the stone workbench. But just outside this room, there's a side tunnel that goes to a different locked room. I want to say there are two locked rooms down here other than the one you're currently in. And maybe you'll find more stuff there. Or you can go back up the steps and just leave with a little person bone coins. [02:08:26] Speaker E: I mean, I want to see what's down here. [02:08:32] Speaker A: Okay, both rooms, both doors are locked. The key that you have doesn't work on them. What do you do? I want to say that. Kadavro, you're still ripped. [02:08:50] Speaker B: Can I rip down one of the doors with my buff strength? [02:08:54] Speaker A: Yeah, you rolled to bolt plus two, plus two and plus whatever your deathbed is worth. [02:09:07] Speaker B: Who will not be silenced again. [02:09:10] Speaker A: Awesome. [02:09:16] Speaker B: So that is a 12. [02:09:20] Speaker A: Oh, fantastic. Excellent. Okay, so you turn this door into kindling and choose one from the burning success list on Bolt. Endanger a friend, Sow chaos or destruction, or overshoot your mark. [02:09:46] Speaker B: Let's sow some chaos and destruction. [02:09:49] Speaker A: Okay, awesome. [02:09:51] Speaker B: I'll mark one fire. [02:09:53] Speaker A: All right, you're up to three fire now. [02:09:57] Speaker B: Yes. [02:09:58] Speaker A: Okay. All right, let me know when you hit four or when anybody hits four. Okay. [02:10:03] Speaker D: You. [02:10:07] Speaker A: Burst the door down with your bare hands and feet. And there was a brazier of coals inside the room that you also tipped over. And in the horrific underlight glow, you can see that you have found your way into Varshar's playroom. And. [02:10:38] Speaker B: No more playing. [02:10:40] Speaker A: You've set fire to these silken cushions and pillows that are on the floor. There's a box made of some dark, oiled wood that the fire reaches over too, and it catches. And, like, there's a couple amphora of wine in the back, and it's only a matter of time before the fire gets to them. [02:11:23] Speaker B: Oh, we need to save the wine. [02:11:29] Speaker A: The room is now a labyrinth of burning blankets and cushions, but you can. You can try to save the wine if you want. What do you want to do? [02:11:44] Speaker B: Yeah, we'll try to save the wine. [02:11:46] Speaker A: Okay. And the wine. I mean, wine doesn't burn, you know, so probably fine. It's not that high alcohol content, but it could be liquor. It might not actually be wine. And then that would be pyrotechnic, but, yeah, sure. Roll to finesse if you want to get the wine. [02:12:11] Speaker B: Am I still buff? [02:12:12] Speaker A: Yeah, you're minus two to finesse. [02:12:17] Speaker B: Who has the strength to overcome despair? [02:12:21] Speaker A: Awesome. [02:12:23] Speaker B: I'll despair if I get. If I don't get that wine. [02:12:27] Speaker C: We have another one. We didn't drink it all yet. [02:12:31] Speaker B: And that is an eight. I rolled the ten. Minus two. [02:12:35] Speaker A: Okay. All right. And what was your. What was that epithet? Worth? [02:12:40] Speaker B: It was. It was worth a zero. [02:12:42] Speaker A: Oh, okay. So, yeah, eight. Okay, well, still, you get it. All right. You are able to get, I want to say, one amphora, and it is not wine. It is like schnapps, you know, it's some sort of fermented liquor. And you rescue one of them, and you do not rescue the other one. And it's only a matter of time before the heat cracks the clay and all that liquor goes up. [02:13:18] Speaker B: You might want to move quickly. [02:13:21] Speaker C: Second door, then. [02:13:23] Speaker B: Yes. [02:13:26] Speaker A: Do you want to try bursting it down one more time, or does somebody else want to try? [02:13:32] Speaker C: Can we finesse it open? [02:13:34] Speaker B: I was finesse. [02:13:35] Speaker A: Oh, you can try finessing it. I'll say that. Yes. [02:13:38] Speaker C: Yeah, I Will. I will try to finesse it open. [02:13:42] Speaker A: Excellent. [02:13:42] Speaker C: With my thirst for the unknown. I got an 11. [02:13:51] Speaker A: Oh, great burning success. So your curiosity, greed, or ambition has gotten the better of you, Mark Fire. You reach too far or find more than you want it. Okay, so I. You are able to pick the lock on this door. And it. How does this work? Swings open, and inside the room is littering with silver, gold and bone coins. And it's the Sparta's treasure room. And there is a. There's a silver mirror in there. Proctor, up against the wall. And it's there with some other valuable worked items that he seems to have collected. And I want to say that, like, there is somebody in the mirror who sees you and says, oh, you're not Barshar. [02:15:55] Speaker C: I'm gonna blow them a kiss, honey, I'm better than him. And then I'm gonna turn the mirror on flat. Like, on the ground. [02:16:06] Speaker A: You can hear their voice from the ground. Like, look, look, Please take me with you, okay? Could you just, just take me with you? Just take the whole mirror. I've been stuck down here for a long time. Back up. And the, the person has blue skin with stars in it. And they're dressed in a, like, a red robe tied around them like a sash. And they're saying, all right, I've been down here for a long time. I've taught Bashar all sorts of things. I, I, I've taught his sorceress all sorts of things, and I'm just tired of it. I would just, I just want to go, you know. [02:17:09] Speaker C: I try to figure this person out. [02:17:13] Speaker A: Sure. Yeah. [02:17:14] Speaker C: If they, like, I don't know, mean trouble for us, huh? I'm going to only show glimpses of my heart, so that's not going to add anything. Oh, and that's only six. [02:17:31] Speaker A: Awesome. [02:17:33] Speaker B: Anyone have anything they can do to, to, to help? [02:17:36] Speaker E: Can we put multiple. [02:17:39] Speaker A: Each of you can use one. Okay, but, but more than one of you can offer help. Are you the only one who has a heart of Aloysius? That's fine. [02:17:52] Speaker D: Okay. [02:17:52] Speaker E: Rip Aloysius. I'm not helping. [02:17:54] Speaker C: No, no, that's okay. I'm fine with the mess on this one. [02:17:56] Speaker A: All right. Mark xp. Aloysius, you collecting hearts and not giving any away? I'm saying, like you do. [02:18:09] Speaker C: It'S glimpses of the heart. That's why. [02:18:12] Speaker A: Yeah, totally. [02:18:14] Speaker C: There's a reason that zero ask one. [02:18:18] Speaker A: Question from the glowing success list, but you reveal more than you wanted about yourself. [02:18:27] Speaker C: I want to know what they. No, I, they've told me what they want? I want to know. What do they love the most? [02:18:40] Speaker A: Ooh. They used to love knowledge the most, but now they're getting increasingly curious about death. They. It's still knowledge, though. It's really knowledge that they love the most. They ask you, what do you love the most? [02:19:18] Speaker C: I think while Aloysius is sort of talking and trying to determine how much they. He believes this person, there is frequent glances towards each member of the group. And I think it reveals that he is asking because he doesn't want to put them in danger. Because there's no one she loves more. [02:19:50] Speaker B: Than these three people. [02:19:51] Speaker A: Oh, I'm not even gonna make you choose among them. That's too perfect. So good. Okay. Yeah. The. This blue person in the mirror says, I can. I can help you. I can help your friends. Terrible misfortune is going to befall all of you if you don't take me out of here with you. [02:20:32] Speaker C: Misfortune that you have caused because you are threatening us or misfortune because you have some sort of glimpse into anything really. [02:20:45] Speaker A: I can tell that you all have. Have upset the balance of the cosmos with your meddling. And it is. It's. It's. It's about the amulet, and it's going to catch up with you if you don't have my protection. [02:21:12] Speaker C: Well, we saw the. This is really your area of expertise. Would you be a darling? [02:21:18] Speaker D: I peek my head out, like. Are you done talking with the mirror? [02:21:23] Speaker C: Yes, I'm. Unfortunately, it's lacking my reflection, so I'm a little bored. [02:21:31] Speaker A: All this time. Are you all just, like, filling your pockets? I mean. [02:21:33] Speaker B: Yes, I have all of. [02:21:36] Speaker C: Stay on mission. Stay on mission. [02:21:38] Speaker D: Yeah. [02:21:39] Speaker B: Shirt? [02:21:39] Speaker A: No. [02:21:39] Speaker B: Comfy robes? [02:21:42] Speaker D: No. No way. That we're not. Okay, we are. [02:21:44] Speaker C: We. [02:21:45] Speaker D: We are professionals. [02:21:46] Speaker C: Good. Good. I'm proud of you. I love you all. [02:21:49] Speaker D: Yeah, exactly. We can be super gay, super horny, super pathetic, but still get the job done all at once. Let's go. [02:21:58] Speaker C: Hey, Rent. [02:22:00] Speaker D: Okay, so above table, real quick. I actually can get him out of the mirror with Metamorphosis. And just so that we all know, I can also put them back in very easily. So are we okay? Are we cool with me just pulling this out of the mirror and then if, if, if he does anything weird, I can just. Bye. And put him back in. [02:22:27] Speaker A: Both of you think you can cast Metamorphosis twice in a row? But I'm here for it. [02:22:32] Speaker D: I have. You don't understand the balls that I have. [02:22:35] Speaker B: It's just the Aki dice look. [02:22:38] Speaker C: Aki's Rolls. I have so much faith in your rolls. [02:22:42] Speaker D: This is the reason why I chose summoning. And then I got it on the second try, like I should. I almost picked elements. That's how ballsy I was. I was gonna pick summoning and elements, but, yeah, no, I, I. If I roll physical dice, I have all the luck in the world. If I roll digital dice. I've played VTM once where I rolled, like, 10 dice and I got no successes. So, like, that's how. That's how bad digital dice hit me. [02:23:08] Speaker A: Okay. [02:23:09] Speaker D: All right, I am going to. Let's see. What am I going to do? This is also why I was, like, really into Sorcerer, because I don't have to look at the. At the glowing successes where I'm going to be like. I mean, I still still kind of have to do. Look at the glowing successes because I could get my ass beat with the. With the magic. But I thought that was a way to balance it, you know? [02:23:30] Speaker A: It's gonna be great. Yeah. [02:23:33] Speaker D: Okay, let me see. I need to pick an epithet. V needs two dice of equal value. I don't think I can. I don't think I can really wing it with Seeing Beauty and Imperfection. I think I have to go with Mark of Impermanence. [02:23:58] Speaker A: Go for it. [02:23:59] Speaker D: Yeah. This is Flex, not Mark of Impermanence. I'm. I'm not gonna. I'm not gonna talk myself to losing dice here. I almost did, though. Eat. [02:24:18] Speaker A: Where'd you get. [02:24:20] Speaker D: I think I talked too much. [02:24:23] Speaker A: Excellent. What'd you get? [02:24:24] Speaker C: Are you. [02:24:25] Speaker D: I got two sixes. That's what I said. I was like, I think I talked too much. [02:24:31] Speaker A: It's still metamorphosis. [02:24:32] Speaker D: It's still metamorphosis, but it's a. It's a. [02:24:35] Speaker A: The burning success. [02:24:36] Speaker C: Yeah. That's all right. [02:24:37] Speaker D: That's why I was like, oh, I talk too much now. [02:24:42] Speaker C: Just. Oh, never mind. You have a 12. [02:24:43] Speaker B: Never mind. [02:24:46] Speaker D: Yeah. Yeah. It's so. On a burning success, though, I reveal the subject's true form, at least for now. It says the player describes it. So I guess it has to be. That has to be you. [02:24:59] Speaker A: Yeah. Now, I will say that if anybody wants to spend a heart on Wabisa, you can change the pip of one of the dice. [02:25:08] Speaker C: I have a lot to spend. [02:25:11] Speaker A: But what were all four of your dice? [02:25:15] Speaker D: Oh, I only rolled three. So I had two sixes and a three. [02:25:20] Speaker A: Okay. All right. So you could end up with a totally different spell. If Aloysius were to spend a heart for you, it would not Be men mortis anymore. But do you want that? [02:25:44] Speaker D: No, I don't think any other spell works with what we want to do. [02:25:52] Speaker A: Okay. [02:25:52] Speaker E: I mean, I can also try and get him out if you wanted a different spell. [02:25:59] Speaker D: I think my only other spell options, though, would have been might, though. [02:26:04] Speaker A: Okay. [02:26:05] Speaker D: Yeah. And I don't really want to want to do might again. I mean, I like might, but I don't want to do it again. [02:26:11] Speaker A: Yeah, yeah, yeah, you've been there. [02:26:14] Speaker D: Yeah. Like, at least not for now. I'm trying to get. I'm trying to, like, do something with a mirror. I don't want to break the mirror just yet. [02:26:20] Speaker A: Okay, so. Metamorphosis. Transform yourself where mortal or creature near you into another mortal or creature the same size or smaller. Retains their priest transformation abilities. But on a burning success, you reveal their true form, or at least what it is right now. And you pull them out of the mirror. And they stand there for a moment, 8ft tall and blue skin full of stars, and stand there in their glory. And they look at you and they say, I'm free. You freed me. I. I can't believe it. And then they start shaking and convulsing. What happened? What did you do? And, like, bits of them just start flaking off like dust. And they. They start to disintegrate, starting at the fingers and toes and then working their way inward. And they say, can't you make me stay? [02:27:39] Speaker D: You have to be back in the mirror or to stay. I can. I can I make it so, okay, wait, with metamorphosis, like, is it the mirror that they still need to be attached to? Because in theory, I could make the mirror be, like, attached to their back or something like that. [02:27:56] Speaker A: I. Okay, you intuit. I will say that. That this is an Atlantean and this is not their time. And because it's not their time, they. Their true form in this time is non existence. And so they just start to come apart at the scenes. [02:28:24] Speaker D: Oh, it was the end of your age. You're not actually supposed to be here. I can fix that. [02:28:35] Speaker A: It's looking like a sorcerer. [02:28:37] Speaker C: Another body. Because I can. Kiana. And I can find Bashar and make. [02:28:43] Speaker D: Him a body, and then I can put him in the body. [02:28:47] Speaker C: I can put you in the body if. I'm sorry, Kiana. You didn't want to kill Bashar earlier. Can we kill Bashar now? For an Atlantean that we don't know who came out of a mirror? [02:29:00] Speaker E: Did you just grab a guard or something? [02:29:03] Speaker C: I guess we could grab whoever's closest. [02:29:08] Speaker D: Okay. I can do something super funny. [02:29:10] Speaker B: I also had an idea. [02:29:13] Speaker A: What? [02:29:14] Speaker B: I have. I have a move called errand shades. I can ask the shades to do something for me. Can I ask the Shades to bring me a body? [02:29:24] Speaker A: Only if you roll a burning success, because they can't move solid things otherwise. [02:29:28] Speaker B: Yeah, I mean, I'll do it. [02:29:31] Speaker D: Try it. [02:29:31] Speaker A: Because you all better work fast, because this guy is rapidly turning into dust. [02:29:40] Speaker B: Yeah, no, I. I'll use my who will not be silenced again, which is my. [02:29:45] Speaker A: My two. Nice. [02:29:48] Speaker B: Come on, dice. And the dice heard me. [02:29:52] Speaker C: Yeah. [02:29:54] Speaker A: Awesome. [02:29:54] Speaker B: So that is 11 on the dice for 13. [02:29:58] Speaker A: Okay. All right. Turn shades on a burning success. [02:30:04] Speaker B: The shades are made more palpable by your flame. I mark fire, which will fill up my track. [02:30:10] Speaker D: I was gonna say. I, I. I was gonna say, if you did it, if you couldn't succeed, I was gonna put him back in the mirror. And then Mark fired and did the same thing. This is hilarious. [02:30:22] Speaker B: Okay, bring me a body. [02:30:26] Speaker A: Okay. [02:30:28] Speaker B: It's time to define the cause. [02:30:30] Speaker A: Yes. All right. So these shades appear around you and warm themselves, but by your living fire to the point where your friends see these shadowy figures coalesce around you and grow substantial to where they look like people, but all grayed out. And you say, go find me a body. And they nod wordlessly and just march out of the room. And pretty soon you can hear screaming upstairs. The Atlantean is now lying on the ground, just a torso and head and just flaking off into dust. But you defy the gods. So I want to say that the. You all are just mocking the cosmic order in so many different ways. I'm trying to think of how, in what way things catch up with you. Now, I want to say, okay, the cat wanders back into the room, and with the cat is a. A snake and a hyena. And they all come padding into the room, and they. The. The cat speaks and says, you are mocking our laws with every step. You should not have come down here. You should not have gone looking for the amulet in the first place. And now you. You must pay the price. So Kadavro, the. The cat, the snake, and the hyena shed their. Their mortal forms and start to turn into very large people. The room seems to get bigger, and the large people with the head of a snake, a cat, and a hyena. And you. To do this move, you first have to ask who will stand with you in this moment? [02:33:39] Speaker B: Who will. [02:33:43] Speaker E: Yeah, yeah. [02:33:46] Speaker D: I'm about to defy God soon, too. Don't worry, bestie. We're literally together. [02:33:50] Speaker A: Okay. Awesome. Now roll 2D6 plus fire. [02:34:01] Speaker B: So that's a 12. [02:34:03] Speaker A: Of course it is. So even if each of the others of you spent a heart, you could not get down to. Oh, no, you could. You could just. [02:34:13] Speaker B: Who has a heart, has a heart on me. I think Yb. Savi was the only one. She already used it. [02:34:21] Speaker A: Oh, okay. [02:34:23] Speaker D: No, I had two. I had two. [02:34:24] Speaker B: You two. [02:34:25] Speaker E: You can only spend one. [02:34:26] Speaker A: Yeah, but you can only spend one. [02:34:28] Speaker D: Yeah, I can only spend one, though. Yeah. [02:34:30] Speaker A: Yeah. So. So instead of gonna be a burning. [02:34:32] Speaker B: Success, it would be. Yeah, it'd be because it would push it down to an 11, which is still a burning success. [02:34:37] Speaker A: Yeah. [02:34:39] Speaker D: Is that what you want? [02:34:41] Speaker A: It's what you got. [02:34:42] Speaker B: All right. Yeah, I got a burning success. [02:34:45] Speaker A: Okay. On a burning success, you briefly take the place of the world force. In this case, the gods, wounding them and invalidating one of their epithets. Say how you rise to godlike power, spurning any being's commands. All who stood with you mark one wound. So one of your epithets is wounded. And now is worth a flat number of negative one. So you can wound one of Anzu's epithets, invalidate one of its domains of beauty, beasts, boundaries, or mirrors. Which one would you like to invalidate? [02:35:28] Speaker B: Boundaries. [02:35:30] Speaker A: Boundaries. Excellent. And how do you rise to godlike power, spurring against God's commands? [02:35:47] Speaker B: Rewrite the laws of life and death for a little bit, like I've done before. Because, I mean, I got back. Back here. Somehow that same kind of power still lies within me. And with these shades bringing me a body, I think I almost reel them all back in with one. One move with a body of someone, and you can kind of see that I am connected to all of this shades with these threads that come from me. They are merely just extensions of myself, these spirits that used to be people but are really no longer. [02:36:38] Speaker A: Okay, all right. I want to say that all the light in the room. Room dims. And all the shadows seem connected to you. You reset your fire track to one. Take a new doom move. [02:36:56] Speaker B: Yeah. I will take private hell. [02:37:00] Speaker A: Perfect for what you were just describing. Yeah. And overwrite one of your epithets with that picture. Doom, which is who cheats death of its harvest and is worth plus three. And each of you of the others. How terrifying do you find Kadavro right now? On a scale from zero to three. [02:37:33] Speaker E: Is three the most terrifying or zero? [02:37:36] Speaker A: Okay, three is the most terrifying. [02:37:40] Speaker D: I don't think I Can I think you get a. You're going to get a fat zero from me. This is unfortunately. Not only have I. Have I made it very clear that this is that Wabisabi is into. But like also just, just, just it. It kind of goes against my. The epithet that I have that has the most worth being beauty and imperfect perfection. And there's nothing more imperfect than defying a God to their face and then rendering their. Their. Ah, that's too good for me. I don't find you terrifying at all. I'm into it. [02:38:26] Speaker C: I think I am also kind of into it. Because not only am I one who thirsts for the unknown and this is on one hand an unknown side of Kadavro because we have simply never seen this much power from them. But also it is at its core who Cadavero is like all of your epithets coming together. This is just a more distilled version of Kadavro. And I've previously established I love the three of you all very, very, very much. [02:39:01] Speaker A: Awesome. [02:39:03] Speaker E: It is a three for me. I put a lot of effort into making people dead. And you destroying that boundary is honestly kind of hurtful to me. And it makes me feel a little bit useless. [02:39:22] Speaker A: Okay, you have 0 hearts from Aloysius and Wabi. Sabi, you have 3 hearts from Kiana total. That's great. Okay. The moment passes. Kadavro, you return basically to your mortal self. But Ansu has to withdraw and the other gods follow suit. But they look over their shoulders at you with vengeful glares. But they scurry out as a cat, a cobra and a hyena. The zone of passage. Kadavro is no longer lord of death. But I think you all can still see little shades kind of flickering around Kadavro. Maybe Kadavro has too many shadows being cast around their form by the fire that has started and is now out in the hall having spread from Brashar's playroom. [02:40:43] Speaker B: Keeping his treasure playroom directly across from the hall from each other maybe wasn't the best idea for that man. [02:40:51] Speaker A: But now the fire is threatening to cut you all off and seal you in. [02:40:58] Speaker B: I have provided the corpse. [02:41:01] Speaker C: Can we put dying person in corpse and then peace out and then have a very long hot night. [02:41:14] Speaker A: Dying person is still there. It's not completely died yet. [02:41:21] Speaker D: Let me. Let me. Let me. Let me just move this guy again. Okay? There's a lot of things that could work here. I'm just trying to see how I can block them to work. [02:41:33] Speaker A: I'm here for it. [02:41:37] Speaker D: Okay, Okay. I am gonna argue that this is who sees beauty in imperfection. [02:41:47] Speaker A: A lot of imperfection going around right now. [02:41:49] Speaker D: Yep. Lots of it. There's. It's over there. It's over there. It's up there. You know, lots. Lots of it. I'm going to also accept that perhaps every cat now will hate us. And that in a room where at least where three people own two cats each them, that sounds like an imperfect world for them. So that's. That's my argument. [02:42:23] Speaker A: Okay. All right. [02:42:25] Speaker C: You're good in meta. You're getting meta with it. [02:42:29] Speaker A: I take back what I said earlier about power gaming. [02:42:34] Speaker D: I'm sorry. I just. I like arguing so much, even against myself. [02:42:41] Speaker C: Hey. [02:42:46] Speaker D: Does someone have. Aloysius, you have pips with me? [02:42:52] Speaker C: Yeah, I got one. [02:42:54] Speaker D: And we can use them to change the outcome on a die, right? [02:42:57] Speaker A: Just for sorcery. You can move the pip on a die. [02:43:01] Speaker D: Can we move it up or down? [02:43:04] Speaker A: Yes. [02:43:06] Speaker D: Do you want to move one down for me so I can have 3? 4? I. [02:43:10] Speaker C: Can I give you a kiss? [02:43:11] Speaker E: Good luck? [02:43:16] Speaker D: I'm sorry. Now I understand the game. I'll meta it so hard. Sorry. [02:43:21] Speaker A: That fits for the Sorcerer, frankly. [02:43:23] Speaker D: Yeah. No. Oh, dang. I found the playbook that I only want to play now. [02:43:28] Speaker A: All right. With a wine soaked kiss from Aloyus, you're able to reel your sorcery in and bring it to heal. And you can cast summoning. Are you bringing forth the shade of this Atlantean who's dying in front of you? [02:43:47] Speaker D: Yeah. I was like, he's. He's. He's like beyond just head and torso and in a super fucked up way, but I'm kind of playing a little fucked up character. I'm gonna look at them, I'm gonna smile, I'm gonna be like, tell me what death feels like. And. And when they die, I will then pull their shade after like a few seconds so they can have that moment. Never forget it. Remember that I'm the one who gave it to them. And then I'm going to put them. Put. [02:44:19] Speaker C: Put their. [02:44:19] Speaker D: Their shade in the body. [02:44:23] Speaker A: All right? The. The body that your. That Kadabra's air and shades dragged back here suddenly gasps and pops its eyes open and she looks at you and says, there was an underground cave with a glowing river winding through it. And the demons had feathered wings and the heads of carrion birds and. Was terrible. And you put me there. [02:45:08] Speaker D: You wanted to know. No. Now you know. And you're saved from that. [02:45:18] Speaker A: I never want to See that again. [02:45:21] Speaker D: But now you. You know that you don't want to. [02:45:25] Speaker A: True. [02:45:26] Speaker D: And I'm gonna let you keep the body so you don't have to. [02:45:31] Speaker A: Thank you, I guess. All right. Command me. You get one command. She starts picking herself up. She. He. Who'd you bring back? Cadaver? [02:45:49] Speaker B: We'll say he. [02:45:52] Speaker A: He. [02:45:53] Speaker B: Some. Some guard in this house. [02:45:55] Speaker A: Okay. Okay. Palace guard. Yeah. [02:45:57] Speaker B: Palace guard. [02:45:58] Speaker A: Okay. All right. Yeah. Yeah. Guess that. Well, all right, fine. [02:46:08] Speaker D: Buff table. What the. Do we want to get out? Yeah, we want to get out. [02:46:13] Speaker B: We're going to get out. [02:46:14] Speaker C: Carry the treasure out for us. I don't know. Just. We got to run. [02:46:19] Speaker A: Flames are just filling the hallway outside this room. [02:46:23] Speaker C: Or just let them go. Just tell them to get out on their own, and we take ourselves out. Whatever. Whatever. [02:46:31] Speaker D: I command you to help us leave safely. [02:46:42] Speaker A: All right. Grabs a. Grabs the chest of gold coins out of your hands and throws it out into hallway and emptying it in the hall and dampens the flames with this shower of gold. And then grabs the amphora of wine out of your hands and empties it out in the hall onto the flames and the flames go out and. Did not take the schnapps, just the wine, and used it to douse the flames and says, there, now you have a golden path to walk out on, and I'm done with you. So I will see you around. But if you recognize me, I never knew you. [02:47:58] Speaker D: That's. That's unfortunate, because I will come find you later. I want to learn things. [02:48:08] Speaker A: Looks at you for a long, stony moment and says, I see. All right, well, we'll have to figure that out when it happens. [02:48:25] Speaker D: Damn. I'm playing a freak. [02:48:28] Speaker A: You're hardcore. [02:48:29] Speaker D: I've turned into a freak. Oh, my goodness. I'm a medicine. Maybe they were on to something about. About not wanting me in society. [02:48:40] Speaker A: This Atlantean turned into a palace guard, turns and walks out and. And, yeah, you all can leave safely. Although you have a lot less treasure than you used to because. [02:48:54] Speaker C: Still more than we started with. [02:48:56] Speaker B: Yeah, that's the important part. [02:49:00] Speaker D: And we can say that like, you know, all the. All the, like, the little. The golden shit probably. Like, was the fire hot enough to melt it? Like, I just. It would be kind of great if he doesn't get to keep it either, is all I'm saying. [02:49:13] Speaker C: That would be satisfying. [02:49:14] Speaker A: Yeah. Yeah, it totally melts. Totally melts. Yeah. And then you just have to. [02:49:18] Speaker E: Actually. [02:49:19] Speaker A: Then you just have to wait for it to cool off before you can walk out on Top of it. [02:49:24] Speaker D: That's what the line is too long. [02:49:26] Speaker A: Yeah, yeah, well, right, right, right. [02:49:27] Speaker C: We can just like parkour along the walls. It'll be fine. [02:49:32] Speaker A: Yeah, sure. [02:49:33] Speaker D: You guys can. I can't. I have delicate fingies. [02:49:37] Speaker C: I will carry you and hardcore parkour. [02:49:40] Speaker D: Yeah, carry me bridal style. [02:49:44] Speaker C: Let's go. [02:49:45] Speaker A: Parkour is just a bolt move. You know, it's a roll you. [02:49:49] Speaker C: So I have escape artist if it comes to it. [02:49:53] Speaker A: That's right. Yeah. Ah, you totally do. And you could have rolled that. It's just you might have ended up stranding your friends here. [02:50:03] Speaker C: Yeah, prefer not to. [02:50:05] Speaker A: Juicy. Okay, so now you all can get out of here. There is, I was gonna say there's been been alarms rung upstairs, but I don't think we actually have. I think things are okay. So. [02:50:30] Speaker D: I was gonna say it would be fun funny if like we ended up the guard that the guard's body that we brought was like the one guard stationed here. So you couldn't even go ask for help. The minute he saw the fire, he got like, he got got by shades, dragged back in here. [02:50:47] Speaker A: Kind of funny the one person would have put the fire out like. Yeah, yeah. And there's still fire going on down here. I don't want to say it's totally out. [02:50:57] Speaker C: That's Bashar's problem now. [02:50:59] Speaker A: Yeah. [02:51:00] Speaker C: Wherever he ended up. [02:51:02] Speaker A: Okay. Yeah. As you come up the stairs, you see Bashar, Bashar there is like, he's coming up the stairs saying, that wasn't the way to the playroom at all. And he sees you, Aloysius, and you, Kiana. And he said, you, you all turned me around. You, you got me all mixed up in my own palace. [02:51:33] Speaker C: Darling, there you are. My goodness, it was so dark. I thought I was following you. And it turned out I was following a cat. Who knew? We've been waiting for you, you know, the whole time. But seems there's kind of tired. I'm going home, so maybe another time. [02:51:53] Speaker A: I, I, I'll have the guard set on you. Both of you. This is the last time, Kiana, that you fool me, you and your tramp friends. But no, no, no. [02:52:07] Speaker E: I would like to end the conversation. [02:52:12] Speaker B: Violently. [02:52:14] Speaker A: No, that's how it goes. [02:52:15] Speaker C: With sword. [02:52:16] Speaker A: Sure. With axe. Oh, my God. [02:52:20] Speaker E: I mean, I thought, I thought, I. [02:52:23] Speaker D: Thought it was like, oh, did we cross a line? But I was about to be like, I was going to start typing like XO in the chat. I didn't realize that was a move. [02:52:30] Speaker E: It's the name of the move I. [02:52:33] Speaker D: Was like, safety check, safety. [02:52:36] Speaker C: Good to check, good to verify. [02:52:38] Speaker D: Okay, that's a good idea. I'm glad I went and scrolled down when you guys were talking like you knew what was going on. [02:52:45] Speaker A: I want to say bar chart comes up to you. It says, the last time I get anywhere near you. Do you smell fire? I smell smoke. Fire. Do you smell that? [02:53:00] Speaker E: Brianna hefts the ax, removes his head, and says, it is the last time. [02:53:10] Speaker A: Oh. [02:53:14] Speaker C: Incredible. Please, I beg you. Tonight. Have me. [02:53:24] Speaker E: Is that a heart? Aloysius, shut up. [02:53:27] Speaker C: Maybe. [02:53:29] Speaker E: Because if it is, that's four. [02:53:32] Speaker D: Oh. [02:53:34] Speaker A: I don't know if I'm allowed to. [02:53:35] Speaker C: Get them out, but if so. [02:53:37] Speaker A: No, you totally are. Yeah. And that's exactly how you would do it. Just fall for somebody a little bit. Yeah, I thought you did. I thought nobody had any hearts of Aloysiuses. [02:53:52] Speaker E: No, I had three on Aloysius. [02:53:54] Speaker C: Only Canada. [02:53:55] Speaker E: Yeah. [02:53:56] Speaker A: Oh, okay. Okay. All right. So, yeah, you get to give Aloysius a new epithet if you don't have one ready right now. You can think about it. But I think in all the confusion as the smell of smoke starts to waft out from the basement, that you all are able to just stride right out of this place. The. Well, let's. Let's see. The. There's a fire. You've killed the lord of the house. I'm sure that you all could use one of those things to effect an escape. How do you all want to get out of here? [02:54:48] Speaker C: Panache. I know self has the better option, but Panache feels right. [02:54:55] Speaker D: Well, there's a fire going on, and if we just let the fire grow some more, okay. It'll be panic for everybody, and then we can. We can. We can pit and ash our way out. Jump out a window. [02:55:08] Speaker C: We can. We can exit the way we began with a saunter. [02:55:14] Speaker D: Jumping. [02:55:16] Speaker A: I just wasn't sure if you were gonna, like, hoist Varshar's severed head in front of you and just be like, you know, own the carnage. Yeah, that was us. Or if you want to not make an enemy of one of the royal. [02:55:32] Speaker B: Houses of the city, we murdered them. I think we already made the enemy. [02:55:38] Speaker D: Yeah. I just want to dig. [02:55:39] Speaker A: You have to know you did it. [02:55:42] Speaker D: I was like, I would rather just dip with all the money that we got, like, as fast as possible. But, like, when I went, like, my. My idea with Panache was like. Like, like in an action movie, you jump out a window. Well, an explosion happens because we're letting the whole house burn down, you know, yeah. [02:56:00] Speaker A: Right, right, right. [02:56:02] Speaker D: At least that's my pitch. At least. [02:56:04] Speaker C: Yeah. I feel like we should. Like, it's the. The house is burning down. Everything is chaotic, but we are, like, calmly leaving the burning casino style. [02:56:15] Speaker A: Awesome. Awesome. [02:56:16] Speaker C: But you know what I mean. [02:56:17] Speaker A: Love it. [02:56:18] Speaker E: Walking away from the expansion. [02:56:20] Speaker C: Exactly. You understand? [02:56:23] Speaker A: Awesome. Okay, Cool. Cool. Yeah, that's. That's a good place to end it, really. The. The. The next scene to come is the. The quiet moment where you can heal your wounds and have a massive orgy. And have a massive orgy. Yeah. Each of you has a special heart move that can heal your wounds and the wounds of anybody who participates in that moment with you. It can only be done in a quiet moment. For example, the sailors. And it's listed right below your heart. The sailors is when you put on the charm in a social situation. Take plus one heart from all who let you lie to them or steal from them, then clear all wounds of all involved. Or Kiana's is you give your heart easily when you share a cup of wine or an intimate moment. Give plus one heart to anyone who offers a physical thing of theirs that you break in the process and clear all wounds of all involved. I figure, like, some mixture of those is probably what you all have coming. [02:57:43] Speaker D: I was. I was like. I didn't get. I never read my special heart move until now. [02:57:49] Speaker A: Huh? [02:57:50] Speaker D: Never mind. I was playing my character the exact way that God intended. That's a freak move right there. That's a freak. It just tldr. We'd be freaks together. I change your body, you change mine. We be freaks together. Never mind. Oh, I was two in character. I was nuts. [02:58:12] Speaker A: Yeah, you were perfect. [02:58:14] Speaker D: I'll do that. Let's go. Love this. [02:58:18] Speaker A: Yeah. So you all. Well, I don't know. Which one of those are you guys gonna do? Let's pick one of those to close it out. [02:58:28] Speaker D: Well, you want to get a freaky? [02:58:30] Speaker C: Yes, let's do it. [02:58:33] Speaker D: Maybe. Maybe the orgy also leads to us to. To y'all specifically getting some. Getting some weird mutations going on. That's all I'm saying. Maybe Walking Corpse. [02:58:46] Speaker B: What else is new? [02:58:47] Speaker D: Yeah, well, maybe. Maybe now you guys have some, like, bioluminescent, like, tatty tattoos. I was seeing tatties, and I realized you sound like titties, but, like, you can have those too. Technically, I could also change your spirit, but, like, I'm just. I'm thinking. I'm thinking. [02:59:05] Speaker A: In the pregame chat, someone was talking about wanting to be fish. [02:59:09] Speaker D: It was. It was. [02:59:10] Speaker C: It was I wanted to be changed by your sorcery. [02:59:12] Speaker D: Yeah. Now get another heart from me. I don't care. [02:59:19] Speaker A: Awesome. [02:59:20] Speaker B: Yeah. [02:59:21] Speaker A: All right. [02:59:22] Speaker B: Yeah. Do you also want to tell us, like, if people enjoy what they're hearing, where they can check it out and all that stuff? [02:59:27] Speaker A: Yes, yes, yes. Thank you for that. This is the Defy the Gods and, well, Kickstarter Hectic Electron Projects, or Kickstarter Projects Hectic Electron Defy the Gods. Anyway, it's a mouthful. I'll put it in the chat, then we'll. [02:59:49] Speaker B: We'll also include like links and stuff in like the episode notes. [02:59:53] Speaker A: Perfect. Perfect. Yeah. And it looks run for 30 days. Yeah. And. And please back it. It's going to have a regular edition, a special edition. Both of them have amazing art on the COVID And inside there'll be dice with maybe terracotta colored dice with cuneiform numbers. And there will be sorcery dice that look like lapis lazuli blue with gold numbers cracking through the lapis into the world. There will be enamel pins with the Dove of the Gods logo and a sword, a very anatomical heart and an overturned crown. It'll be great. And I'm hoping to hit some stretch goals with a couple extra playbooks I want to write for this. Like the Thief and the Demigod Child of the gods who's gone off script isn't gonna do what their parent wants them to do with their life anymore. And there'll be some other goodies too, that I'm hoping to offer. So catch it there. Sorry. Yeah, catch that on Kickstarter. Thanks so much. Oh, and I'm. I'm Chris and I'm@hectic electron.com and I'm hectic Electron everywhere. [03:01:25] Speaker D: Thank you. [03:01:26] Speaker B: Yeah, it's been lovely to have you. And yeah, go check out the Kickstarter links in all the descriptions down below. Say goodbye, Gaze. [03:01:36] Speaker C: Bye, gaze. [03:01:38] Speaker E: Bye, gays. [03:01:39] Speaker D: Goodbye, freaks.
