Episode Transcript
[00:00:43] Speaker A: Waking up from this sleep I'm dreaming, doctor alone I could not find meaning hold my hand let me stare by your side through this never ending night I can feel it now it holds me demon tells me in this red light it calls me he is reaching out consuming.
[00:01:27] Speaker B: This heart hello, everybody, and welcome back to Tyrant of the dark star. I'm Aubrey, your gm. I will toss up and write players to introduce themselves, tell you who they are, who they're playing, and then we'll get rolling into things.
[00:01:43] Speaker C: Hi, my name is Aki. Pronouns are she, her, and I am playing gravewing, who is our monk, Kinesis.
That's it. That's all you get to know about her.
[00:01:58] Speaker B: Oh.
[00:01:58] Speaker C: Also uses she her pronouns.
[00:02:01] Speaker D: Hi, y'all. I'm Alyssa. My pronouns are they, them, and I play lay, the driesee, our dampier, dandy, and rogue. Who uses she any pronouns?
[00:02:13] Speaker E: It's me. Hello, I'm dusty. I use they he pronouns, and I am playing Eurudo, just eurydo for now. They also use they he pronouns, and they are going to be our blood hunter.
[00:02:28] Speaker A: Hello, I am Ferx. I'm ushe her pronouns. And I am playing the nephilim, I think is what they're called now, thaumaturge, who also uses she her pronouns.
[00:02:43] Speaker F: Hello, I am Sparlock. I use he him pronouns. I am playing Alistair Whiskerfield, the. A renowned wizard and investigator who uses he him pronouns also.
[00:02:58] Speaker B: Okay, well, last episode certainly was eventful. Who wants to give us that rundown?
[00:03:09] Speaker A: I got you a. Aubrey tried to kill us again immediately after already trying to kill us, and almost succeeded again.
So there were slimes, and we were fighting them, and then one of them knocked my cousin unconscious. And I'm very mad about it, but it's okay. Lathe brought them back, and we did kill the slimes successfully. But it was extremely gross. It was the grossest thing. They had some horrible thing called a filth wave that they used twice.
[00:03:38] Speaker C: It was gross.
[00:03:39] Speaker A: It was horrible. It was gross. But we found the clock tower. We left the sewers. We're now on a clock tower. Things are fine, probably. I don't know. I'm going to take a bath. That's all that matters.
That's it. That's all you missed.
[00:03:50] Speaker B: Yeah.
Well, so I believe when we last left it, we were talking about taking.
[00:03:59] Speaker A: Watch at a bath.
[00:04:02] Speaker B: Yes.
[00:04:04] Speaker A: Priorities, Aubrey.
[00:04:07] Speaker B: Priorities.
So we'll say that there definitely is not plumbing up here, so you will have to find the water.
Usually places like this, you know, there's like a water pump out on, you know, on a corner or whatever. You know, like in the town square where people will go get water, bring it back.
There are several buckets.
Getting water would involve leaving the clock tower.
[00:04:33] Speaker A: Whose bright idea was it to put the tub at the top of the clock tower? Is there a pulley system?
[00:04:41] Speaker B: There's also the great water spell makeup.
[00:04:44] Speaker A: Do I look like I have it? No. Is there a. Can I make a pulley system before we get.
[00:04:51] Speaker B: I will say that there's probably a pulley system already in here just to easily get stuff up.
[00:04:56] Speaker E: If there's someone here that has create water either in our party or just like in the tower by secret, just.
[00:05:03] Speaker A: Chilling in the corner. The secret water creator. That's their only job is create water.
I don't.
[00:05:13] Speaker E: Nice and bits and dough.
[00:05:15] Speaker A: Does Nile have it?
[00:05:19] Speaker B: I don't think so. No, they do not.
[00:05:21] Speaker A: I don't know where the shot.
[00:05:23] Speaker B: They have object reading. They can tell you about the tub.
[00:05:27] Speaker A: I don't know if we want to know. No, no, thank you.
Thank you.
[00:05:33] Speaker E: I think Yuri is talking and was like, you can't just, like, wait till tomorrow. Like, do you need to go out right now to get the water?
[00:05:42] Speaker A: Yahi, you were eaten by a sign, I don't think. No offense to the rat, detective, but I don't think spells are going to cover sewers like living sewers. Like, there's just a level of hygiene that is gone once the slime is mobile of its own free will.
[00:06:13] Speaker E: Yuri kind of like, looks over Lou's shoulder just like, kind of just like, stares out for a second and just.
Okay, I'll go with you to get water.
[00:06:24] Speaker A: We haven't had a bath in, like, two weeks. You can't say you don't want one.
[00:06:30] Speaker E: I just don't want to die again.
[00:06:33] Speaker A: I mean, neither do I, obviously. But we'll just be, we will just be very careful and quiet and if there's danger, we will stop. We'll just stop.
[00:06:44] Speaker F: Did you say die again.
[00:06:49] Speaker A: Speech?
Because of this line and also maybe the boogie bun.
[00:07:02] Speaker E: That's a long story.
Is there, like, I assume there's, like, windows where you could, like, look outside, right?
[00:07:10] Speaker B: Yeah, there's definitely easy ways to look outside. You're essentially like, where the face of the clock tower is.
[00:07:19] Speaker A: Too bad you don't have your gun, Yuri, because that would be so helpful right now.
[00:07:24] Speaker B: You can sort of go to places where, like the, you can kind of open it up a little bit because they would have to sometimes do maintenance on the outside.
[00:07:34] Speaker E: Okay. Yeah, Yuri is kind of peeking through and just says, yeah, I need to go get that packs eventually.
Do I see, like, a bunch of ghouls or do I see anyone or anything outside?
[00:07:47] Speaker B: Give me a perception check.
[00:07:51] Speaker E: Oh, thanks. Big dice. Now you're being helpful.
26.
[00:07:56] Speaker B: 26. So the thing is, you are very, very high up.
And as you are, you can kind of, like, look around and you see starlight bastion as it's completely empty, like, it's completely dark. Um, you know, there, though, there does seem to be a house with a light on.
Um, there you can kind of see the sinkhole that hollow haunt fell into. You can look out. You can't really, like, get full 360. So you can't see, like, the other side of the city that's all lit up. You can kind of see it off in your peripheral. Um, you can kind of see certain things that are shuffling around in the district itself. But it's when you are stories up, uh, you know, it is a little hard to make out the very fine shapes.
[00:08:59] Speaker E: And have we seen a non blocked out exit yet in this building?
[00:09:04] Speaker B: Uh, there. It appears to only be that one.
[00:09:08] Speaker E: Is there, like, a fire escape kind of system?
[00:09:11] Speaker B: No.
[00:09:12] Speaker E: Okay.
Has gravewing told us that they lived here, or is that only out of the character stuff?
[00:09:24] Speaker C: Right, yeah, no, it's out of character. Knowledge is gravewing has been here before, but, like, not lived here or anything like that.
[00:09:30] Speaker E: Okay.
[00:09:31] Speaker C: Okay.
[00:09:33] Speaker E: What was Lou gonna say?
[00:09:35] Speaker A: Oh, I was actually gonna ask Aubrey if there was. How far away that lit up house was.
Like, is it in the same square?
[00:09:43] Speaker B: It is not in the same square. It is a couple of blocks over.
[00:09:50] Speaker E: You bring, like, look to everyone, or at least speak loud enough for everyone to hear. Well, there doesn't seem to be any lights or people out right now. Well, except for, like, one house down the way.
[00:10:07] Speaker C: Show me it.
[00:10:10] Speaker E: And Yuri would, like, motion raving over and point out exactly where the house would be. Just send me the lights on. I assume that means someone's own.
[00:10:22] Speaker C: Aubrey.
Off chance that I recognize either the house or where the general area is.
[00:10:31] Speaker B: Give me a perception check.
[00:10:35] Speaker C: Yes. Society.
[00:10:36] Speaker B: You control that? I wasn't sure if you had society, so.
[00:10:40] Speaker C: I do have society.
[00:10:41] Speaker B: Cool.
[00:10:42] Speaker C: Yeah. I thought society would be important for a vigilante.
[00:10:47] Speaker B: Yeah, you're not wrong.
[00:10:49] Speaker C: Yeah, no. Can you imagine? I'm just doing all of this, and I don't have shit. Like, I'm just beating up people. That's horrible. That's a great fucking. Oh, I love these dice. That's a great.
[00:11:01] Speaker B: Rule 23 23.
It's a little hard to tell with the district so dark, but that might be you. Not sure if you've worked there, but you're. That might be the home. The Wollstonecraft manor.
And you know that Elena Wollstonecraft was one of the founders of the holy blood.
She's been missing for a very long time.
[00:11:41] Speaker C: Has that. Would I know if the place is, like, abandoned or anything like that?
[00:11:52] Speaker B: It's a little hard to tell with how she went missing shortly after the whole ghoul thing happened.
[00:12:05] Speaker A: What?
[00:12:06] Speaker B: The ghoul. The ghoul outbreak happened because the ghoul outbreak started here in starlight bastion, and then the guards tried to. And the guards and the holy blood, they all tried to contain it, but it wasn't enough. And they essentially have. For the last ever period of time, last couple of years at least, this district has been completely quarantined.
There isn't. People don't live here.
[00:12:40] Speaker A: How long ago was the first school break? Ghoul outbreak.
[00:12:46] Speaker B: The ghoul outbreak started five years ago.
[00:12:48] Speaker A: Okay, so recent.
[00:12:50] Speaker B: Yeah, started five years ago. The district was closed off about two years ago, and she supposedly went missing right around the time the outbreak started.
[00:13:07] Speaker C: That's the.
Metzl. Wollstonecraft manor.
[00:13:13] Speaker B: Yeah. It's not like the entire manor is lit up. It does seem to be. There's a solitary magic candle lit in one of the windows.
[00:13:25] Speaker E: That's even more suspicious. Would that ring a name for. Ring a bell.
Ring a bell. Ring a bell for Yuri.
[00:13:33] Speaker B: How much do you think Yuri knows about the holy blood?
[00:13:41] Speaker C: Yuri the blood hunter?
[00:13:45] Speaker E: Good question. Let me just. Let me roll a vibe check just for myself, because I feel like probably. But I say they know a decent amount. Not in a way like they have worked with them, but in a way that they know what to look for to avoid them.
[00:14:06] Speaker F: Question. Do we have the frying pan?
I swear, this is related.
Is it like, stainless steel or, like, cast iron? Is it shiny?
[00:14:25] Speaker B: It is cast iron.
[00:14:28] Speaker F: Okay, anybody got any shiny metal on them?
[00:14:33] Speaker D: I assume all my shiny metal has been confiscated.
[00:14:36] Speaker A: I have a bell. Yeah, I have a bell. And I have glasses.
Willy, do you want those? Be shiny enough for you? But one of them kind of makes noise when you shine it, unless you know what you're doing. But I can make it so quiet. You just hold the clapper. It's not that hard.
[00:14:55] Speaker F: I'm wondering if we can signal, like, and see if there's anyone in that house.
[00:15:05] Speaker A: Well, people don't really live here today. So if there is someone there, they're probably not like.
[00:15:16] Speaker C: So I'm gonna assume you.
Well, you don't know anything. There are people that live here. Not everybody gets out.
So, I mean, and I just gesture to behind us. Does this place look that old to you?
[00:15:42] Speaker A: I assumed they were using the cell suez and wear like gum smugglers or something like that. This seems like a smuggler sort of place. Maybe.
[00:15:56] Speaker E: Do we want them to know we're here?
[00:15:59] Speaker C: Well, it couldn't hurt to find out if they can help.
And by help, I mean, you know, plumbing.
That house totally is plumbing. Plumbing's a luxury.
[00:16:15] Speaker A: Is it, um.
Is it possible that the light is.
[00:16:19] Speaker C: Just.
[00:16:22] Speaker A: A memorial for the. Elena.
[00:16:28] Speaker F: I'd like to know before we go over there, but it's the best lead we have.
[00:16:34] Speaker E: It's inside, right?
[00:16:36] Speaker A: Right.
[00:16:37] Speaker E: Yeah.
[00:16:38] Speaker A: Someone left it there after she vanished. And then before they left the.
[00:16:43] Speaker C: She vanished like five years ago.
[00:16:45] Speaker A: It's magic. But doesn't matter. Don't get an idea.
[00:16:48] Speaker E: Please.
I don't think a memorial will be left inside someone's home.
Usually it'll be in front.
[00:16:58] Speaker A: I mean, it will prize. I think I would do that.
[00:17:04] Speaker E: Not everyone is you, though.
[00:17:08] Speaker C: And a good thing too. So I'm cool with going since I know where to go.
And I don't want to wait until honestly tomorrow because things here move so fucking slow and so fucking fast at the same time.
[00:17:38] Speaker F: We're weak. We should rest.
[00:17:42] Speaker C: You're weak. You can rest.
[00:17:46] Speaker E: I'll go with you.
So you're not alone.
[00:17:51] Speaker A: I don't know if.
I mean, we have barely gotten out of what we have gotten out of. But all of us, if something goes bad or there are gruesome.
[00:18:05] Speaker E: I. They are right though. Like, if they could find a way to help us sooner, is definitely better. Because we don't know if they're gonna be there tomorrow.
You rest.
I'll go with them.
We could handle ourselves together. We can handle each other.
[00:18:23] Speaker C: We're only going in to check it out. I don't expect combat.
Uh, we certainly won't be getting into combat. Eh, if things come running, we run faster.
No offense. I have no idea how quiet you can make a bell.
[00:18:45] Speaker A: Well, you would be surprised.
[00:18:49] Speaker C: Yeah, my experience with bells is that they're real fucking loud. And, uh, the ghouls like them.
[00:18:59] Speaker D: Hmm.
[00:19:00] Speaker A: Not just clues.
[00:19:06] Speaker C: Wonderful.
Yuri.
[00:19:13] Speaker E: And your dump mods.
[00:19:16] Speaker C: I'm just gesture to the thing. To the God. How do we get up here?
[00:19:21] Speaker D: A ladder.
[00:19:22] Speaker C: It was a ladder.
[00:19:22] Speaker A: It's like stairs. A spiral staircase.
[00:19:24] Speaker D: I think.
[00:19:25] Speaker C: Okay, cool.
[00:19:25] Speaker A: Staircase.
[00:19:26] Speaker C: Stairs. Then I will gesture to the stairs.
Spin.
[00:19:30] Speaker A: Oh, sorry.
[00:19:32] Speaker D: I was gonna say, laithe has been watching this exchange and I think grabs the dagger that she grabbed from one of the guards and says, I healed up before we came up here, I'll join you.
[00:19:45] Speaker C: Yeah, you're quiet.
Or, well, you can be quiet.
[00:19:51] Speaker D: She winks.
[00:19:52] Speaker C: I look. I look immediately at your shoes. Actually, I am.
[00:19:57] Speaker D: No, I am barefoot. My shoes were confiscated because they were.
[00:20:04] Speaker C: By the fucking mother. Have you been walking through the sewers?
[00:20:09] Speaker B: You could have stolen the boots from a guard if you wanted to.
[00:20:13] Speaker D: So I stole her guard boots.
[00:20:16] Speaker A: Okay.
[00:20:16] Speaker C: Okay. Because I was about to go on another mission.
[00:20:22] Speaker E: Hirudo is now considering the complications of leaving Lou and Alistair with the known cannibal.
[00:20:30] Speaker A: With the cannibal? Yeah.
[00:20:34] Speaker B: Niall is just like. They're exhausted. They just right on a bed.
[00:20:39] Speaker A: I feel like they would try to be cooking all the terrible food.
[00:20:45] Speaker B: But.
[00:20:45] Speaker A: They have to sleep first.
[00:20:47] Speaker E: Yuri looks at lathe and just nods. Then gets a little closer to Lou and just.
If the cannibal tries anything, just run.
[00:20:57] Speaker A: No. Yeah, I whack them real hard in the head.
[00:21:00] Speaker B: That's what you're frying pants for.
[00:21:04] Speaker A: Yeah. I'm going to go cook something I know how to do.
[00:21:17] Speaker C: Mothmom will go down first.
I do want to. You know what? No, I don't think it would be here.
Wouldn't make sense for anything.
Actually, it might make sense.
If I were to look through some of the crates, would I be able to find something like goggles or something? Better to obscure my face than just cloth.
[00:21:45] Speaker B: Um, give me, give me just a.
Give me just a quick perception check.
[00:21:55] Speaker C: 1616.
[00:21:56] Speaker B: Um, not goggles, but I'll say you find like one of those like page boy caps.
[00:22:08] Speaker C: Damn it. All right, I put on a hat. No, this is horrible.
[00:22:19] Speaker E: You normally have like a mask or something?
[00:22:24] Speaker C: I have a mask. I have a full suit, actually, my old suit.
I could have just jumped out the window of a clock tower and been pretty fine. So, uh, definitely not having the best time right now.
[00:22:44] Speaker E: Okay, um, let's move this furniture away from the door very quietly and we do it. No problems.
[00:22:55] Speaker B: Yeah, you. It takes you some time, you know, of. Okay, you lift now, you know, and eventually you do get all of it unblocked and you open the door to the district.
And this is the part where I will ask for those stealth roles.
[00:23:25] Speaker C: 19.
For graveling.
[00:23:32] Speaker D: Dirty 20.
[00:23:36] Speaker E: Dirty 19.
I don't have good stuff.
[00:23:45] Speaker B: So you sort of maybe have either Alistair or Lou sort of kind of barricade the door behind you just so nothing can get in while you're gone, and you start sort of moving through the district.
You spot, like, the. The ghouls and everything, they seem to move in packs, so it's kind of quickly, easily becomes, okay, one moves, we're gonna just hunker down.
You know, they don't see. They don't hear us. Okay, we're gonna move. As soon as you do it, you pass, uh, you pass a couple of places. You put us a place called the sharks fin, uh, which you all, uh, some of you would know as, like, was an inn.
There is.
You also pass a place called the eye indigo. Um, it's a little bit harder to tell what that is from the outside.
Unless any of you, uh, made a habit of going into tarot shops.
Yeah, I didn't think so.
And moving slowly and quietly, it probably takes you upwards of 30 minutes before you find yourself outside of the Wollstonecraft manor.
And that candle is still burning in the window.
[00:25:12] Speaker C: I'm assuming the doors are locked. If we were to shickle.
[00:25:16] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:25:17] Speaker C: This is where I'm gonna look to the rest of y'all and be like, all right, I was gonna break a window, but can any of you pick a lock?
[00:25:27] Speaker E: Look, that lace.
[00:25:30] Speaker D: I mean, I did it with Lou's stays, which I assume we gave back. Yeah, because she, like, put the wire back in.
Is there anything around here that could be used for this?
[00:25:47] Speaker E: Was there something maybe at the clock tower or.
[00:25:48] Speaker D: In the clock tower? Yeah, we would have thought to bring it if we saw.
[00:25:58] Speaker B: There weren't any, like, thieves tools. But I'll say you can kind of pull, like, a similar trick that you've pulled. You pulled back when you worked on, like, grave wings cuffs.
Like an improvised pick.
[00:26:18] Speaker D: So is that, like, a minus, just a minus one.
[00:26:21] Speaker B: Minus one.
[00:26:22] Speaker D: Minus one. Okay.
Yeah. So Laith will pull out the.
Got the improvised pick that she sort of made and brought in the clock tower. And that is a 19.
[00:26:37] Speaker B: A 19, yeah. It's a pretty normal door, and it's locked, but they haven't put a chain on it or anything. So you can take that moment to kind of quietly unlock it.
[00:26:57] Speaker C: I give Laithe a very quiet, good job, and then we'll go in first.
[00:27:04] Speaker D: Laith visibly freezes for a moment at the praise.
[00:27:08] Speaker E: Oh, no.
[00:27:11] Speaker C: That'S right. Are you. Do you feel that you're healing?
[00:27:20] Speaker B: It's better not awaken anything in me.
[00:27:25] Speaker C: I'm gonna go in first. Going in quiet but not low, like, I'm not ducking nothing.
What this house looked like.
[00:27:37] Speaker B: So as you enter, you would expect to see if this was a house of people who left or were gone missing. You know, drop cloths covering furniture, dust everywhere. This house isn't in amazing shape, but just looking around, it's very clear that somebody has been taking care of it.
And you're relatively sure that sort of. You can kind of see this staircase that leads up to the second floor. You know, your classic entryway staircase goes up. You can see doors to your left and right. There do looks to be doors also further on.
The candle would be in the window upstairs, sort of upstairs, and then kind of behind you where the front of the house would be.
[00:28:38] Speaker C: Well, I'm not interest because this place looks like it's being.
It's housing someone currently. I'm not interested in taking anything just yet, but I will be going to where I find the light, because I.
That's what we're here for.
But also just. Just in case there's a fucking, like, bucket, right?
It's like a bucket we can use and be like, oh, look at that. We also brought water to.
[00:29:08] Speaker B: There were, like, a couple of buckets that were in near the. Where the tub was, so.
[00:29:13] Speaker C: Okay, dope. Like, look at this. So far, so good.
Yeah. I'm gonna go to where the light is, and I want to look underneath the door, because I'm assuming the light will also come out of. From underneath the door. And I want to see if there's any movement.
[00:29:33] Speaker B: Yeah, give me a perception check.
[00:29:41] Speaker C: I have two people with way better perception checks than me. Can I just tell one of them to do it?
[00:29:50] Speaker B: You can, yeah. If you would like to have Laithe.
[00:29:55] Speaker E: Do it, and I'll stay guard.
[00:29:58] Speaker C: I will poke Laithe, because Laithe has been exceptionally helpful to me so far and will be like, can you check if there's any movement behind the door? My eyes are no good.
[00:30:10] Speaker D: Yeah, Laith will sort of get down on their stomach, I guess, and look through the bottom of the door, and that is a 22.
[00:30:20] Speaker B: A 22 perception. This appears to be what you can tell some kind of bedroom.
And as you know, you're looking, and you can kind of see. There looks to be maybe a desk along the wall, like the. The chair sort of seems like somebody's leaning back in it. And that's when all three of you hear the click of the sound of a hammer, of a gun, and you hear a feminine voice say, you know, the polite thing is usually to knock.
[00:31:07] Speaker E: You were just about to.
[00:31:10] Speaker B: Well, come on in.
[00:31:17] Speaker E: Uh, I think Yuri will get lathe up and slowly open the door, arms raised, like away from the sword that's on their waist.
And not gonna say anything, just gonna, like, see who's inside, get the vibe, or get shot. I don't know. It's your choice.
[00:31:43] Speaker B: Yeah. There's a very fancy looking gun pointed towards the door. The gun is in the hand of this elven woman.
She has almost white hair that's sort of pulled back into a tight bun.
Her face is heavily scarred. There are four long claw marks that go from one side to the other.
Her left eye appears to be mechanical. You sort of hear kind of a slight whirring, clicking sound from it.
Her right arm also does appear to be mechanical in some form as well.
[00:32:33] Speaker D: Let me just say before we opened the door, I will have, when Yuru is pulling me up, glanced at gravewing. Do you want to stay out?
Presumably they don't know how many of us are here.
[00:32:48] Speaker C: Well, yeah, probably. Then if they make no indication that they know three of us are here, or specifically that I am here, I would like to stay hugging the wall. Yeah, that's a good call.
[00:33:05] Speaker D: Okay. Bentley will also. Yeah, join Yuri. Coming in.
[00:33:11] Speaker B: Yeah. Anybody who's entering. All three of you, make a society check.
[00:33:17] Speaker E: I dice hate combat, but love everything else.
[00:33:21] Speaker C: That's a 23 21 20.
[00:33:25] Speaker D: 118.
[00:33:27] Speaker B: You all can tell this is the owner of the manor.
She's relatively well known. She established the holy blood with the other two, Andreas Ravenswood and Elias Grimm. Or Elias Gore. Yeah, Gore.
She established it with that she's known and she was even the senator for this district.
And she's still pointing the gun at you and looks between the two of you and says, where's Akos?
[00:34:09] Speaker E: He said he would come back after he stayed back at the prison.
[00:34:18] Speaker B: He did. She grumbles and flips the hammer on the pistol and stows it underneath her jacket.
Did all that fucking work to get him out and what he fucking does.
[00:34:35] Speaker E: I'm just as confused as you were.
[00:34:38] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:34:39] Speaker E: As Yuri slowly lowers his arms and just starts to say, then I assume you know exactly where he came from.
[00:34:50] Speaker B: Yeah. Yeah. That's the only reason I came back to this godforsaken district.
[00:34:57] Speaker E: It's a good thing we recognize signals when we see them. Okay.
[00:35:02] Speaker B: Yeah, it might as well be a giant signal in the sky.
[00:35:13] Speaker E: Looks at Laith as if there's like. Do you have any questions? I have questions while I look at you.
[00:35:22] Speaker D: I mean, if you're desperate to leave, senator, we're probably staying in the clock tower, at least for the night to rest up.
We can pass along any messages or goods.
[00:35:39] Speaker B: The most important thing is I want the information they promised me.
[00:35:49] Speaker E: They unfortunately give us nothing.
[00:35:52] Speaker B: Of course, Akos has one to play their cards close to their chest.
[00:35:58] Speaker E: Well, is there any other information that we could help you with? Or is there anything, any way we could get help from you to figure out what the hell that clock tower is for?
[00:36:12] Speaker B: The clock tower was a marvel of the city for a long time, but used to, from what I know, the tunnels underneath there are smugglers tunnels quite often. That's what he was used for.
[00:36:34] Speaker E: How many people know about the tunnels?
[00:36:40] Speaker B: I'd say not that many. I would not be surprised if the bloody blades knew them and used them. But currently, with the states of the city, the tunnels aren't exactly the most safe to use.
[00:36:55] Speaker E: We found that out.
[00:36:58] Speaker D: Well, do I know if Helena is or was involved with the unbroken? Like a member of the unbroken?
[00:37:09] Speaker B: Give me a perception check.
[00:37:13] Speaker D: That is a 1717.
[00:37:18] Speaker B: She's not wearing anything that would show off that she's a member.
You know that Captain Gore is a member of the unbroken, but you don't know about either of the other founders. Helena was always very.
She's shunned away from the limelight. Preferred to let her job speak for herself. Speak for. You know, she was a monster hunter through and through.
[00:38:00] Speaker E: Um.
What?
Why did you want to get Akos out? Is it just information?
Is there something he could help you with?
[00:38:13] Speaker B: Yeah. I wanted.
Promised Akos a way out. They gave me information on the unbroken and everything that's going on in the city. I left for a while.
It was safer.
The other two founders tried to kill me, so I let them think they were successful.
[00:38:51] Speaker E: This means a lot.
It definitely would mean you want to leave here without being seen as well.
[00:39:01] Speaker B: That's the plan.
[00:39:04] Speaker E: Have a secret or safer way out of here. Ready? You just avoid ghouls like everyone else.
[00:39:15] Speaker B: I can't get further into the city before the lockdown is lifted.
If you want to take your chances with the watching wood, I have a way out of the city, but if you came from cold iron, I would recommend not.
You aren't exactly outfitted for a trip through the watching wood. That will require a lot more gear.
There's also the problem of.
In the last couple of weeks, guards have been starting to sort of clamp down on things.
Currently, you can't move across the bridge without proper paperwork.
If you don't produce the paperwork, you can't go back across the bridge.
[00:40:16] Speaker E: What. What's happening? Why. Why are they looking down?
[00:40:22] Speaker B: As far as my sources can tell, it was the murder of the previous high priest. Combined with the fact that the outbreak is not getting better, so that, to the heads of the city, say it is to limit the spread of ghoul fever.
[00:40:50] Speaker E: Yeah.
Yeah, that's the only reason.
[00:40:57] Speaker B: Is your friend just going to sulk in the hallway the entire time?
[00:41:05] Speaker C: No, I'm gonna step in and just be like. Well, not exactly friends with anyone here, especially you.
[00:41:15] Speaker E: Shrugs. Yeah.
[00:41:19] Speaker C: The you was not for you.
And I gesture, too. Helena.
[00:41:28] Speaker B: It's very fair.
[00:41:31] Speaker C: Do you know an Osmont talus?
[00:41:34] Speaker B: Think yes. Alchemy professor at Ravenswood Academy.
Went on sabbatical five years ago. Never returned.
[00:41:46] Speaker C: Yeah, well, that's who we're supposed to stop, according to your cult friend.
[00:41:55] Speaker B: Well, I remember correctly, Talos does have a mansion in this district.
[00:42:04] Speaker C: God, the chances of him being here are pretty high, aren't they?
[00:42:09] Speaker B: I'd say so.
I'd also advise caution.
He was an alchemist for the holy blood. He came up with the concoction that they use, among other things.
[00:42:29] Speaker C: Got one more thing to ask you, and I'm not sure if you're gonna know who this is, though, so I might as well take my chances.
Would you happen to know anything about a juniper?
[00:42:49] Speaker B: Juniper? Juniper.
As she let me roll her.
[00:42:56] Speaker C: Just.
[00:43:00] Speaker B: The name is familiar. Was a student at Ravenswood Academy and then went missing.
Returned, dropped out of the academy and joined the clockwork union.
[00:43:24] Speaker C: Are you up to date with the news?
Actually, has there even been any news? That part I wouldn't be able to tell.
[00:43:33] Speaker B: I can't say the name means anything beyond after that.
[00:43:41] Speaker C: Well, based on what you've been, um. You've been saying, I'm. I'm really counting on you not being friends with.
Honestly, anybody from your order.
[00:43:57] Speaker B: I'd say that's a safe bet.
[00:44:00] Speaker C: Yeah, that's who you're gonna want for the cure.
[00:44:05] Speaker B: Okay. I have agents on the other side of the city.
I'll get word for them to look out for her.
[00:44:17] Speaker C: Yeah, last time I checked, ah, she was bleeding out, so I really don't know if she's alive or not. What I do know is that I had her stuff.
I don't know where that is. So. Do you have any idea where.
[00:44:41] Speaker A: Cold.
[00:44:42] Speaker C: Iron would keep shit like that?
Important shit?
[00:44:49] Speaker B: It depends.
Usually, you're processed at a separate facility and then sent to cold iron.
I would bet that certain things about the.
Any items taken from your person are probably.
They would probably be in the same district. There is.
There are areas where things like that are kept.
It would either be in the coin district or emerald reach, one of those two places.
[00:45:36] Speaker C: Yeah. Well, I guess then we'd rather focus on hoping that juniper is still alive and then keeping her safe. She can. I'm assuming she's smart, so she can probably recreate her process. I hope. I don't know how far in she was in to this stuff. I'm gonna assume very far for assassination attempts, but, yeah, that's your best bet.
[00:46:09] Speaker B: I'll get information and word to my people.
[00:46:17] Speaker E: You think dealing with Osmond would help stop the spread of all these ghouls?
[00:46:25] Speaker B: If Osmond is the source, cut off the source, cut off the serpent's head.
[00:46:32] Speaker E: Well.
[00:46:35] Speaker C: Bad phrasing. You could still extract its venom.
[00:46:40] Speaker B: It's true.
[00:46:42] Speaker E: And then make a nutty venom.
Well, as long as you don't mean any harm to us.
I don't have anything else for you, though I may ask if you have anything in this place that we may borrow to help us, keep us safe. Maybe some water. Maybe if you have more guns. They took mine.
[00:47:14] Speaker B: I'll look at the three of you and say, whatever's in this house is yours.
I don't know how much is left.
I'll be sitting out in the morning.
I can't stay here.
[00:47:32] Speaker C: You got any masks or goggles?
Because this is really uncomfortable.
[00:47:43] Speaker B: It kind of gives you a lopsided smile. It's very, very weird because, you know, the scars on her face kind of pull her lips a little bit. And out of her pockets, she pulls a pair of goggles and will toss them to you and just say, hope these help.
[00:48:06] Speaker C: I'm not going to put them on here, but I will hold them and just give her, like, a nod.
[00:48:15] Speaker D: Does the punning still work?
[00:48:18] Speaker B: As far as I'm aware.
[00:48:23] Speaker D: Wonderful.
[00:48:26] Speaker C: We're all gonna take fucking baths, aren't we?
[00:48:30] Speaker D: I certainly am.
[00:48:32] Speaker B: Like I said, anything in here? Help yourself. I think all the really good stuff will have been picked through already, but there might still be some stuff here.
[00:48:46] Speaker E: Well, uh, Yuri gives a short nod, like a thank you, and we'll start looking for shit. Assuming that Leith is gonna go take a bath or something.
[00:49:01] Speaker C: Yeah, I'm not. I want. I will be taking a bath last. And this is simply because we gotta establish watches at here. There's fucking ghouls, man. Um, but, yeah, I might also look for some stuff I, in particular, don't want.
I still don't trust Helena to just leave her to her own devices.
So I'm keeping a good eye out. Especially since someone is literally bathing over there.
Yeah.
[00:49:36] Speaker D: Before Laith leaves the room to run a bath, she will ask if Akos does come through the clock tower and the tunnels while we're still there. Is there anything you'd like us to pass along? A location?
[00:49:55] Speaker B: Just.
They'll know how to get in contact with me.
[00:50:02] Speaker D: Fair enough.
[00:50:03] Speaker B: It's better if they don't know the location, is I.
They were a cult leader. They still kind of are, but I hope they'd be desperate enough to give me information.
[00:50:17] Speaker C: I mean, they seem desperate enough.
Oh, you don't. Can you fucking guess who I am? Or like, do I need to write you a letter?
[00:50:28] Speaker B: I thought you were graveling.
[00:50:30] Speaker C: Yeah, well, worked well with me, so chances of you getting information would say decently high.
[00:50:39] Speaker B: Yeah, I said take what you need.
I'll be gone in the morning and just. We're gonna jump over. Jump back to the people in the clock tower. What are.
[00:50:58] Speaker A: What are.
[00:50:59] Speaker B: What are Lou and Alistair up to?
[00:51:04] Speaker A: Um, sorting the boxes.
I am making inventory of everything in this clock tower, going through the crates and the barrels, and also desperately looking for anything to refill her stash of esoterica, which has been decimated down to handful of rat fur and occasional boogers, which she's not keen to repeat.
[00:51:37] Speaker B: It's not a lot of esoterica wise. You manage to.
Essentially, the food comes down to about a ten day supply of rations.
There's the clothes. These are clothes.
And some of the other crates have various important sundries in them. Whoever gathered all of this stuff clearly was more focused on just surviving.
[00:52:11] Speaker A: Also, would we be able to. Because I think Nilo can do it. Identify what's in these bottles that we found in the sewers.
[00:52:20] Speaker B: Yeah, I mean, honestly, if either of you have crafting, you can do it.
[00:52:28] Speaker A: I'm trained in crafting.
Wait, what's your crafting? Alistair, do you have crafting? Is it better?
[00:52:35] Speaker F: I have a plus nine.
[00:52:38] Speaker A: Yeah. You're gonna be the one to figure this out. Go for it.
[00:52:47] Speaker F: I'm always happy to help.
That is a 27.
[00:52:52] Speaker B: 27. You have four lesser healing potions.
[00:53:00] Speaker A: I suppose now that we know that these would have been so up earlier, we should maybe see if we can make the beds nice. And, um, maybe we can put together dinner. Some sort of dinner. I know our options are limited, but we gotta try to make it nice.
And then when they come back, we'll look like we've been youthful in apple. And they won't sneer at us with their sneering faces.
[00:53:34] Speaker B: You. You do find something in one of these boxes that looks like a wand of some kind.
Either you can use any of the arcane occult or arcane occult, religion or nature. One of those.
[00:53:53] Speaker A: I have six occults. That's my o.
[00:53:57] Speaker B: Arcana.
[00:53:58] Speaker A: Those are my best two.
[00:53:59] Speaker F: I have eleven arcana.
[00:54:01] Speaker A: Get it. Go. Take it.
[00:54:05] Speaker B: 1616.
[00:54:09] Speaker F: I do have access to the wizard spell list.
[00:54:12] Speaker B: Yeah, the wand of conjure water.
[00:54:23] Speaker A: That's exactly what we needed. Are you able to use it?
[00:54:28] Speaker F: I can, yeah, definitely.
[00:54:30] Speaker B: Yeah. If you have access to the conjure water.
[00:54:34] Speaker A: I have a question.
When you conjure water. Because I not good at magic. Not exactly my strong suit. I am better at making stuff up.
When you conjure water, is it like you control the temperature, or is it, like, straight out of the stream?
[00:55:00] Speaker F: I have prostitigitation.
[00:55:02] Speaker A: So you could make a dot. That is all that matters.
[00:55:06] Speaker F: Yes.
[00:55:10] Speaker A: We should build the bath. We have soap.
And then you too should wait downstairs. And then I will be. And then you two can take time spacing.
[00:55:22] Speaker F: It can only make about two gallons.
[00:55:26] Speaker A: That's okay. It's better than nothing.
I will take what I can get.
You know what? We'll put it in, and we will at least wash our hands and faces, if nothing else, because we cannot make dinner if our hands are filthy. They're so dirty.
[00:55:52] Speaker E: Okay.
[00:55:53] Speaker B: And.
[00:55:59] Speaker E: Cool.
[00:56:00] Speaker F: Warm or flavor? One pound.
So I can apparently heat one 16th of it.
[00:56:12] Speaker A: We have lukewarm water to wash our hands and faces in. Collectively shared water, no less.
[00:56:18] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:56:21] Speaker A: I taste the out of soap.
And we have crackers and beef, Jackie, which I don't even eat.
That's okay.
It's fine. We can focus on making the beds look nice. I don't know about these colors, so we might use some for stuffing because these are full of the flats. You know what I mean?
And that will be good. We will have done something useful and able, and they won't be mad at us.
[00:57:00] Speaker F: You said it's the minor healing potions or lesser.
[00:57:05] Speaker A: Lesser. Would it be really rude of us if we, all three of us, took one and then we left the last one for Johi. Obviously.
But that's. I mean, that seems.
[00:57:16] Speaker F: They left us.
We'll never see them again.
[00:57:20] Speaker A: Oh, what if we all. When we see them coming back, right? We all climbed back down into the sewer and we pretend we died.
That would be so funny.
Oh, Hillary would be so mad.
I did that once when we were kids, but I did really good.
[00:57:39] Speaker C: Okay.
[00:57:39] Speaker A: I used ketchup and I made it like a glad everywhere. They were so upset.
They got me in trouble with my mom. But that's okay.
I made a big mess, so like, it was fair.
[00:57:59] Speaker B: So you are able to clean up and enjoy some of your water.
Hard tack and beef jerky.
[00:58:12] Speaker A: Meanwhile, the fine dining on the other side of the other side of the square, they're having caviar and something else that's expensive. Warm plumbing.
[00:58:26] Speaker B: Yeah.
So it's a back with people in the manor. Yeah, there's.
I wouldn't say the water is the warmest, but, you know, can get kind of warm and it's not. It's more than two gallons worth.
You can actually like clean up and find fresh clothes that are not just sort of like basic pants and like shirt and trousers.
[00:58:53] Speaker D: Yeah. I mean, Laithe is trying to be quick, but one has never had to take a quick bath in her life. And two has 5000 tons of hair that hasn't been washed in two weeks. So I think it's a long process.
[00:59:08] Speaker B: Yeah.
So while that's going on, the other two of you, one of you is keeping watch and then is another one sort of like looking around?
[00:59:20] Speaker C: Yeah, I'm keeping watch just because it's literally better and you can look around.
[00:59:32] Speaker E: Yeah, I want to look for more shit. Weapons, secrets, tools, more secrets.
[00:59:40] Speaker B: Yeah. I mean, there are several bedrooms. There are four bedrooms in this, uh, mansion.
Like looking through people were not like incredibly like invested in figuring out like taking the clothes or anything. Um, so, you know, you're able to find fresh, clean clothes that are, you know, your size and you know, something not necessarily exactly what you had before, but closer in styles. Like a lot of this is built for people who are monster hunters.
And there is.
I'll write a full for everything you find later. But you're able to find some armor, some more better armor than just basic leather.
I will say that a lot of the weapons have been taken, but you're able to find a gun.
Nice.
You're able to find a dueling pistol.
[01:00:47] Speaker E: Okay. Okay.
[01:00:50] Speaker B: No ammunition currently. But you know, and there are certain things like you're able to find like a rapier and a few other weapons as well. Give you the full write up. There's also a. You'll stumble across at one point a library.
[01:01:10] Speaker E: Oh, okay. Um, 1st. 1st question. Do I find a cool jacket?
[01:01:18] Speaker B: Yes.
[01:01:18] Speaker E: Like, yeah, uh, Yuri does change and just do whatever they like. No one's around them, so they do have actual excitement on their face. When they see the cool jacket and just, like, ugh, finally, um, fashion. No. Uh, and then they see their library and is very interested, but also doesn't want to just, like, stay there.
So we'll go back to where graveling is keeping watch and just.
There's, you see, basically, like, a satchel full of, like, weapons and shit and just got everything I could carry. There's also a library that I wanted to check out when we're all ready to go. I just. I don't want to stay there while you're waiting.
[01:02:15] Speaker C: All right, that's good.
While you were out doing shit, can I ask Helen a couple questions? Yeah, that worked.
[01:02:25] Speaker B: She would have sort of, you know, kind of just hanging out in the room. Currently waiting until, essentially, the. The eclipse rises during the day when the. Like, the day when the ghouls are a little bit slower and a little bit, like, you know, less active.
[01:02:39] Speaker C: A proverbial day.
Gravewing still on guard. We'll ask.
Would you happen to know anything about my partners?
[01:02:57] Speaker B: I don't currently know anything, but I can have my people look.
[01:03:14] Speaker C: That would be much appreciated.
According to Akos, we have no idea where widow is, and yellowjacket was last seen in the twilight grove.
I do not know how much I can trust him, though.
[01:03:43] Speaker B: You can throw him.
[01:03:46] Speaker C: And not gonna lie, I'm a little bit more inclined to trust you.
Not because I like you, but because your friends tried to kill you.
And I really don't like your friends.
I don't think they're your friends anymore either. We might be on the same page.
[01:04:06] Speaker B: Yeah, they're definitely not my friends anymore. They're definitely not the people I once knew, but. Yeah, I hadn't heard anything, but wasn't really the thing I was looking at before, but I have the few people who are still loyal to me. Look around, see what they find.
[01:04:29] Speaker A: Mm hmm.
[01:04:33] Speaker C: Honestly, anything helps, especially the status of their well being.
[01:04:45] Speaker B: Yeah, well, I hope you find them.
[01:04:52] Speaker C: You and me both.
Ugh.
And then Yuri comes in, and I'm like, nice. Nice jacket.
[01:05:04] Speaker E: Not as nice as the one I used to have, but I'll get it back eventually in my fucking axe.
[01:05:14] Speaker C: I hope so. I doubt I'm getting any of my shit back.
[01:05:21] Speaker B: Yeah. Also, Yuri, if you went through the kitchen, there really not much there you're able to find.
Really, the only thing that's kept would be anything that's left in the wine cellar.
So there might be bottles of wine.
[01:05:39] Speaker E: Oh, then Yuri would also have one bat, one. One arm satchel full of armor. Weapons and shit at arm. Also, I've got some wine.
This one looks like it's aged. I mean, at least five years, right?
[01:06:03] Speaker C: He's got.
I look hela, right, right in the eyes, but like, it's gotta be older than that.
[01:06:08] Speaker B: Oh, it's definitely older than that.
I think that bottle was 40 years before I left, so. 45 years.
[01:06:20] Speaker E: No, just humor me. No blood or anything like that, right?
Not that one of those weird wines. Okay.
[01:06:31] Speaker B: No, I am not a vampire.
[01:06:38] Speaker E: Health restrictions. I just have to ask. I've had a lot of strange things.
[01:06:46] Speaker C: What the fuck have you had in you? What?
What?
[01:06:51] Speaker E: We could talk about it at a time where we're not waiting for you.
[01:06:56] Speaker C: And your cousin do weird shit.
[01:06:59] Speaker E: You don't know the beginning of it. Um, how long has Leith been taking a bath?
[01:07:05] Speaker C: I don't know, man. Rich people take a long showers.
[01:07:10] Speaker E: Yeah.
Yeah.
[01:07:14] Speaker D: Laithe will reappear properly cleaned with her hair, like, tied back in a high, long braid, and wearing new clothes that have not been through the sewers or two weeks of prison.
[01:07:27] Speaker B: Hmm.
[01:07:31] Speaker C: Yuri, you go.
You were the. The slime had you.
You go.
[01:07:39] Speaker E: You sure? You sure? I could keep watch.
[01:07:42] Speaker C: If you want to go, you can keep watch after.
But you were like, you were in it, you know? Yeah, honestly, I don't, I don't know why you're wearing the jacket while you're still not clean. It's gonna suck.
[01:07:57] Speaker E: All the other clothes are gone.
Yuri would drop the satchel of weapons, hand lathe the wine, and just also save some for me. At least.
[01:08:10] Speaker D: She will raise the bottle in your direction as if she's going to drink it the second you thief through him.
[01:08:21] Speaker B: So is there anything that either of you would like to do while Yuri takes a bath?
[01:08:28] Speaker D: I mean, I'd like to check out the library if there's anything fun there.
[01:08:34] Speaker B: There are a lot of books. Are you looking for anything fun or educational?
[01:08:43] Speaker D: Smut. I don't care about education.
[01:08:47] Speaker B: Time to get the Ye olde book title generator out.
[01:08:53] Speaker E: It returns.
[01:09:01] Speaker B: Um, let's see, uh, there is something that looks incredibly tawdry, uh, called, uh, the devils bride.
[01:09:21] Speaker D: Yeah, I think that laith spends like 2 seconds going towards the more serious books. The sort of instinct to find information very present and then very consciously sets that aside and finds the devils bride and picks it up and goes back to moth. Mom and Helena.
[01:09:42] Speaker C: Got anything interesting?
[01:09:47] Speaker D: Shell flash the book towards you and say, I mean, based on the title, this one seems like itll be quite explicit.
[01:09:57] Speaker C: I think you would notice moth. Moth takes a little bit longer to read and understand the title.
And then she thinks a little bit and goes, oh, my God, is this smut?
[01:10:15] Speaker D: I will look over towards Helena because it's her library.
[01:10:19] Speaker C: I will also look at Helena.
[01:10:22] Speaker B: Those books belonged to my wife.
[01:10:27] Speaker C: Your wife has good taste.
[01:10:29] Speaker B: I will tell her you said that when I see her again.
[01:10:34] Speaker E: Okay.
[01:10:35] Speaker B: Uh, anything else?
[01:10:38] Speaker C: Can I find decent clothes?
[01:10:40] Speaker B: Yeah, you are.
[01:10:41] Speaker C: I'm just kind of wearing running man mishmash, you know?
[01:10:43] Speaker B: Yeah, there's. There's decent stuff you can. And you can bring back, like, a bunch of clothes for the other two as well.
Other three.
[01:10:53] Speaker C: Three?
[01:10:54] Speaker B: Yeah.
[01:10:56] Speaker C: Um.
[01:10:59] Speaker E: Yuri, by the way, would not take that long of a bath. Yeah, they would get, like, the soap clean just.
And come back, like, didn't dry their hair fully well, just cuz, like, with horns and a towel, it gets hard. So it's as dry as it can be. But stick back and just, well, shoulder to suffer.
[01:11:31] Speaker C: I go in, you hear the water go fucking everywhere.
It's. It's just like, like if I had a bucket, if I'm like, filling the bucket, dumping out of it. That's why it sounds like, okay, you're the water go fucking everywhere. And then after many of said waterfall noises, you hear wind go little, like, I blasted the whole area dry. And I will come out with my semi nicer, not sewer nor slime touch clothes. I have the goggles on. I have ditched the cap because I think the cap is stupid.
And I am covering the rest of my face with probably, like some sort of, like, cloth or, like, you can find a bandana. Bandana? Yeah, like, you get by anywhere.
[01:12:23] Speaker B: I'm going to find, like, an actual bandana in among the clothes?
[01:12:27] Speaker C: Yeah, yeah. Just things like that. And if you were to go into the bathroom, it is a dry but kind of a mess. Not like a horrible mess. It's just kind of like.
I would say the floors look clean, but you can suspect that's because there's water went everywhere.
[01:12:51] Speaker E: If I may, in the time before, since now it's just Leith and Yuri.
Yuri is now just gonna stand there, just second like.
So what's actually happening between you and Lou?
[01:13:09] Speaker D: Yuridao asking me to kiss and tell?
[01:13:14] Speaker E: What intent?
[01:13:18] Speaker D: It's an expression, my dear.
[01:13:23] Speaker E: Look, whatever history that happened with us, no need to take it out on. Do.
[01:13:33] Speaker D: You think rather highly of yourself?
[01:13:38] Speaker B: You're right.
[01:13:38] Speaker E: Now, as much as you think of yourself.
[01:13:42] Speaker D: I'll have you know that Alouette has charms entirely her own that have.
[01:13:48] Speaker E: Nothing to do with you that I'm fully aware of. I just.
I don't need you hurting her anymore.
[01:14:02] Speaker D: Leith does not have a response to that. So in, instead, she, like, raises the book to her face and crosses her legs and says, is that all?
[01:14:17] Speaker E: Yuri nods, opens up one of, like, not the nicer, nicer wine. Maybe, like, opens up the equivalent of, like, a fantasy, like rose, just the cheap stuff, and just will take a swig of it.
[01:14:33] Speaker C: I'm offended. Rose is fucking nice.
[01:14:36] Speaker E: Cheap rose. You can get Rose for, like, $10.
[01:14:40] Speaker B: Rose could still be nice and cheap, but.
[01:14:42] Speaker E: Yeah, yeah, but it's still $10.
[01:14:44] Speaker B: Yeah.
[01:14:44] Speaker C: Gee, I sure wish I had $10 lying around to get cheap rose on a whim.
[01:14:49] Speaker E: Yeah, but it's not a 45 year old thing of wine.
[01:14:53] Speaker C: Yeah, no, that's wild. I don't even know if I want to drink that.
I just need you to know I feel some type of way knowing that we have very excessive booze.
[01:15:03] Speaker B: Yeah, but literally, you're in the house of somebody who's very rich. All their booze could be expensive.
[01:15:11] Speaker E: Exactly.
[01:15:11] Speaker C: So this is the good fucking rose, which, by the way, moth mom will drink some, but definitely not to get drunk. It's more like I just want to taste kind of vibe, you know, just like, oh, God, that's nice.
I remember that I'm alive. You know, things like that.
[01:15:33] Speaker E: Yeah, no, Yuri's not drinking to get drunk. They're just drinking because they stir.
[01:15:38] Speaker B: That's very fun.
So through all of this, you're all clean, you have your spoils, and you manage to sneak back to the clock tower.
[01:15:54] Speaker A: Oh, no. Stealth checks for them now.
[01:15:56] Speaker B: Not this.
[01:15:57] Speaker C: Nah. Matt, we waited for. We waited for the pack of ghouls to go because we knew they were, like, where they would go. And then we just walked out.
[01:16:06] Speaker A: Graveling, I think you've joined the rich club.
[01:16:09] Speaker C: I took one bath and I'm rich.
Wow.
[01:16:15] Speaker A: I know. That's how it works.
[01:16:16] Speaker E: We also would have brought water buckets because we have no idea about the wand. Or at least Yuri would have brought water buckets.
[01:16:22] Speaker C: Yeah, no, yeah, we're totally bringing water buckets.
[01:16:26] Speaker B: You've got, like, the three buckets of water. Um, and. Yeah, uh, you. You do the thing. You do the knock on the door that you've arranged for, uh, you know, to be, hi, this is us and not ghouls.
[01:16:41] Speaker A: Uh, yeah, I'm sure Lou would grab the group to help move stuff out of the way, and you'd come back to the clock tower that looks like it's been it went through spring cleaning. Everything is, like, neatly organized. The boxes are labeled.
Everything looks really nice. There's like a little fake, like, dinner, like, table setting on the floor because there's no table or chairs for that matter. So there's just like, crate lids to be the table. And the hard tech and the jerky are set out really nice.
Everybody still looks filthy, but slightly cleaner, I would presume. Since a full bath is out of the issue, we at least switched into whatever clothes were around, which I can't imagine are great.
And Lou just looks like she has been running around like a whirlwind. And she probably has been. She's probably been very bossy to you and Nile Alister. She's been very bossy.
[01:17:43] Speaker B: Yeah.
[01:17:45] Speaker A: You're helping clean whether you want to or not.
[01:17:47] Speaker B: Yeah.
But you will notice that all three of them have had a bash.
[01:17:54] Speaker A: Oh.
[01:17:55] Speaker B: They're all very clean and wearing fresh new clothes.
[01:17:58] Speaker A: So I take it you made a friend?
[01:18:06] Speaker E: A work partner. Temporarily, yeah.
[01:18:09] Speaker A: An innkeeper.
[01:18:11] Speaker F: Do you usually bathe with friends?
That's an odd conclusion to, like. You wouldn't let me take a bath. Are we not friends?
[01:18:24] Speaker A: You are only bathed with business partners.
[01:18:27] Speaker C: You are close loads of people. You are all really fucking good. So found a person. Person is an acquaintance at best. Right now we can go back into her manor and there is plumbing, so y'all can bathe.
[01:18:48] Speaker A: We have points at Alistair. Iwand conjure two gallons of water.
[01:19:01] Speaker C: He brought three buckets of water to.
[01:19:03] Speaker A: Help, but that is up to five. That is enough to wash, like, whole arms. Now, when you're gravitating. And we have less buddies to watch now, you know, so that's fine. We also have dinner.
And after this, there are. I guess if we subtract the dinner, then there's probably only nine rations left.
And we have drummer. This one is important.
Eating potions. Four of them.
We took them out of the.
[01:19:39] Speaker F: Susie told me not to go.
[01:19:45] Speaker A: I know, right?
Foolishness.
[01:19:48] Speaker E: Wow.
[01:19:49] Speaker A: And the beds, they look clean ish. They've been dusted.
[01:19:57] Speaker E: Yuri would drop the satchel, fill gears like, well, you got all this.
And going to hand the rest of rose to Lou. I guess the person did not care for the rest of the stuff, so we liberated it.
[01:20:18] Speaker A: That's, um. That's good, because our options for beverages were water.
[01:20:28] Speaker B: Now we have options.
[01:20:30] Speaker A: Bath water, specifically? Yes. Gross. Lime bath water that also has soap in it.
Maybe tomorrow we could have summoned two more gallons and had a sip of clean, bacon flavored water.
[01:20:46] Speaker E: Yuri is gonna gently put a hand on the shoulders like Lou. I know we're having a bad time.
We are kind of in the shit. We're all having a bad time.
[01:21:01] Speaker A: Yes, we are.
So while you were out making new business acquaintances and finding wine, did you happen to find out when and how we get to go, you know, on.
[01:21:21] Speaker E: Not soon.
[01:21:23] Speaker A: Not soon.
[01:21:24] Speaker E: The town is in even more locked down than we've ever seen it.
[01:21:36] Speaker A: We love an adventure that ends up in prison and then. Cool town. Love it. Cool. Exciting. This is what I wanted, actually. So I'm happy, I'm excited.
[01:21:45] Speaker D: I mean, surely your parents can arrange for paperwork back across the bridge.
[01:21:51] Speaker A: I don't know that they even know we got arrested because we were still in jail after two weeks, which is a long time, you know, which means maybe, you know. I don't know what Papa thinks happened to me, actually. The note was real big.
[01:22:21] Speaker C: Actually, now that I think about it.
Why. Why were you three in jail exactly? It takes a lot to put nobles in jail for several weeks.
[01:22:40] Speaker A: We didn't do anything wrong. We were trying to fix the problem, and then they came in and they were like, oh, we're going to blow up.
I don't really remember, but it doesn't matter because we weren't doing any videos wrong. We are fighting the worst ghoul ever. And then. And then it went really badly.
[01:23:03] Speaker E: Over the table. We were in salvation row. Is that right?
[01:23:07] Speaker B: Coffin walk.
[01:23:08] Speaker E: We were in coffee. Okay, here. He's like, yeah, Lou and I were trying to help some people in coffin walk. Last thing I remember, I got thrown against the wall and woke up in prison.
Not by Luke, no.
[01:23:26] Speaker C: So, like, whatever you were fighting, it was the boogeyman.
[01:23:31] Speaker E: Mm hmm. I just do boogie like that fucker whiskey said.
[01:23:38] Speaker A: Yeah, with a liar. I didn't like him.
[01:23:42] Speaker E: He wanted his hat.
[01:23:45] Speaker A: I like that ad. I didn't like Kim whiskey.
[01:23:48] Speaker E: They sought us some information.
[01:23:52] Speaker C: Looks like a cowboy.
[01:23:55] Speaker A: Yeah. Yeah, I guess.
[01:23:56] Speaker E: Yes.
[01:23:57] Speaker C: All right.
[01:23:58] Speaker A: Yeah. Do you know the whiskey truck?
[01:24:02] Speaker C: Yeah.
[01:24:04] Speaker A: Do you like the whiskey truck?
[01:24:10] Speaker C: Sometimes I like him.
Sometimes I literally throw him so good. Yeah.
[01:24:16] Speaker A: He deserves it. I hope you throw him again sometime.
[01:24:20] Speaker C: He usually deserves being thrown. Yeah.
Not a horrible person, though.
[01:24:30] Speaker E: So, Laithe, why were you in prison and why didn't you get out?
[01:24:38] Speaker D: I was at the verta harvest festival dance, and my mother was murdered in front of me, so not much chance for the family to spring me from that.
[01:24:56] Speaker E: Inside check. Inside check. Inside check.
[01:24:58] Speaker C: Yeah. Insight, check. Murder is pretty big, I believe.
[01:25:04] Speaker B: Deception versus your perception.
[01:25:07] Speaker C: I only roll the seven roll points again. We have hero points again, so I'm going to use that.
[01:25:12] Speaker D: Wait, sorry. So they're rolling against my deception DC?
[01:25:16] Speaker B: Uh, yeah.
[01:25:17] Speaker E: Or you can roll deception, I assume. Right? Because you are. It's just straight up lying.
[01:25:21] Speaker B: Yeah, I mean, if you.
[01:25:22] Speaker A: I mean, technically, if you want to.
[01:25:24] Speaker B: Try to get higher than what your deception DC is.
[01:25:28] Speaker A: She isn't wrong.
[01:25:31] Speaker B: She was. You did the murdering.
[01:25:33] Speaker A: The murder happened in front of me. It was just also by you.
[01:25:40] Speaker E: I did use a hero point for this.
[01:25:43] Speaker C: Me, too.
G. Roll hockey at 20, so I'm gonna figure it out.
Great, because I don't have much.
Okay.
[01:25:54] Speaker E: I got a. I got a 19, so that's a 27 for me.
[01:25:57] Speaker B: I.
You know, um, Dana, do you want to roll to see if to contest?
[01:26:05] Speaker D: Nah, they can have it. My dc is 19.
[01:26:07] Speaker B: I mean, to be fair, you're not technically lying.
[01:26:11] Speaker E: Yeah.
[01:26:11] Speaker B: You're admitting circumstances, so, you know, they may both realize that there's more than what you're saying, but you're not technically lying. When you said your mother was murdered in front of you.
[01:26:25] Speaker E: Yuri's, like, gets involved with the wrong people.
[01:26:30] Speaker D: Oh, she's been involved with the wrong people for my entire life. Euroto.
But it seems like it finally got up to her.
[01:26:42] Speaker A: I'm so sorry to hear that.
[01:26:44] Speaker C: Go ahead.
[01:26:45] Speaker F: I was saying I'm sorry as well.
So sorry to hear about your loss. That must have been very hard.
[01:26:53] Speaker A: What about Nadia?
[01:26:59] Speaker D: She got out. They didn't arrest me immediately. So she's all right? She'll be all right.
[01:27:09] Speaker C: With my nat 20. Can I tell the tone difference here with the way laith talks about their mom?
[01:27:20] Speaker D: Can I say that I think you can definitely tell a big difference between how she talks about her mom and how she talks about Nadia. And then her response to the two, like, I'm sorry's was. There was definitely a, like, harsh, like, I'm not before she sort of smoothed it away.
[01:27:36] Speaker C: Okay, dope, then. Then moth mom will say, did she deserve it.
[01:27:48] Speaker D: More than.
[01:27:50] Speaker F: You can't ask her that. She was. Her mom was murdered in front of her.
[01:27:57] Speaker C: There are tons of absolutely abhorrent and horrible, horrible parents in this world, and you can deserve murder.
[01:28:10] Speaker E: Yuri is just gonna kind of, like, shrug at that. Like one. Yeah.
Though, um, Yuri would kind of look at Lou and just. It is strange that.
That even your father didn't come hit you.
That's. That's the thing that's concerning me the most.
[01:28:35] Speaker A: Well, I, um. I don't know about you, but I didn't exactly tell them my last name.
Because sometimes people react badly to it. So I thought maybe this is a good time to not do that. But I was going to once I found out. Gonna die. That seemed like a great time to be like, hey, actually.
[01:29:02] Speaker C: You have, like, zero survival skills, huh?
[01:29:10] Speaker E: We're working on it.
[01:29:14] Speaker A: I don't get much opportunity to do things.
[01:29:22] Speaker C: No, I know that. I've been your place.
Oh, that's what I mean is being in cold iron would have been probably if you were gonna flaunt your. Not. Not even flaunt. If you were gonna drop a line to your. To your family.
[01:29:49] Speaker A: I know that. But see, Captain Elias Gore was also there, and I don't think he likes afamin very much. Or at all. At all. So it is possible that if he knew, he would perhaps enact some sort of personal vendetta because he had the opportunity. I don't know.
[01:30:16] Speaker B: Well, I'm gonna mention at this point you've all been up and awake and almost died multiple times. You're all probably starting to get very tired.
And honestly, it's kind of hard to tell what even time it is anymore. You don't know how long you have until sunrise.
So I might suggest trying to get some sleep, trying to get a long rest in before figuring out what your next move is. We can figure out watches at the start of next episode before you figure out what your plan is. So you all can bring dick up to speed onto what's happened.
So, aki, you want to take us out again?
[01:31:06] Speaker C: Yes, I do. Hello. Thanks for listening.
Catch us again. Most likely a next week where we continue doing things.
In the previous time that I had to do this, I forgot to mention that we have a bunch of things going on, like a patreon and a discord, which you can join and talk and, I don't know, on us. We also have a Twitch stream going on. Lots of eat and spices. It is a vampire. The masquerade game. It's all good. It's pretty hot, pretty sexy. We're doing a bunch of more stuff on Twitch eventually and. Yeah, that's it.
Eat your vegetables or they'll eat you.
[01:31:59] Speaker E: I still like to fight your vegetables.
[01:32:03] Speaker A: That was pretty good.
[01:32:05] Speaker C: See, this one was less manic. The last one was like.
[01:33:19] Speaker E: Just like.
[01:33:32] Speaker A: Of the heart is in it.
