[00:01:04] Speaker A: Demon tower. Where's my love of the smart? [00:01:29] Speaker B: Hello, everyone, and welcome back to Tyrant of the dark star. I'm Aubrey, your gm. I'll toss it for my players to introduce themselves, who they are, who they're playing, and then we'll see how season one shakes out. Quite possibly season one finale. [00:01:50] Speaker C: Hi, my name's Aki. Pronouns are she, her, and I am playing gravewing, who is our monk kinesis. Uh, that's it. That's all you get to know about her. Oh, also uses she her pronouns. [00:02:07] Speaker D: Hi, y'all, I'm Alyssa. My pronouns are they, them, and I play laythadrisi, our dampier, dandy, and rogue, who uses she any pronouns? [00:02:20] Speaker E: It's me. Hello, I'm dusty. I use they he pronouns, and I'm playing Eurydo. Just Eurodo for now. They also use they he pronouns, and they are going to be our blood hunter. [00:02:35] Speaker A: Hello, I am ferx. [00:02:36] Speaker B: I use she her pronouns, and I. [00:02:37] Speaker A: Am playing the nephilim, I think is what they're called now. Thaumaturge, who also uses she her pronouns. [00:02:49] Speaker F: Hello, I am Sparlock. I use he himdeze pronouns. I am playing Alistair Whiskerfield, the renowned wizard and investigator who uses he him pronouns also. [00:03:05] Speaker B: So what happened last time? [00:03:12] Speaker A: Oh, what didn't happen last time? So, first off, Yuri, totally not just a monster hunter, also a monster, but, like, in a cool way, just straight up turned to a cool little stag werewolf. A were stag, if you will, and got scary in a cool way. Again, very cool. Also, maybe Niall went unconscious, but he's fine ish now. And also maybe gravewing went unconscious a little bit, and she's a still not fine. And maybe lays is, like, on death's door with, like, a minimum amount of hp necessary to be conscious. And maybe there is a. The Dread doctor is honestly the least scary thing on this map. There is a zombie brute. Ginormous, terrible hate it. There's a raven mother. Ginormous, terrible hate it. Might regret saying that, but it's fine. Where are friends? Akos showed up. I say friends with quotation marks. Akko showed up, brought some people along so far, helping us. We might have an unexpected round eight. We're only on round three. Don't worry about it. But, you know, for now, all is. All is bad. But it could be and probably will be worse. So that's what you missed. [00:04:44] Speaker B: And, yeah, we're at the top of round three. Back with the dread doctor, back with Talus as Laithe gives chase and Talus will strike again with their knuckle dagger for 19 on the dice for a 28. [00:05:08] Speaker A: That hits. Wait, wait, wait. Oh, no. I think you're too far away, aren't you? I don't know if there. Wait, hang on, hang on, hang on. Let me see. There's a distance on this. It's a noise activity. Never mind. You're on your own. I'm sorry. Ah. I don't die. [00:05:30] Speaker B: For eight damage. [00:05:34] Speaker D: Yeah, that is going to bring Laithe down. I think that as the knuckle dagger connects, she starts to say, like, fuck you, but sort of falls right after the fuck. But I am going to use my final sprite reaction to get an attack on my way down. [00:05:54] Speaker B: Go for it. [00:05:57] Speaker D: Is a 29 to hit. [00:06:03] Speaker B: 29. 29 will hit. Not a crit. [00:06:12] Speaker D: For nine damage. [00:06:15] Speaker B: Nine damage. Okay. And then for his second action, he will quick bomber an alchemist's fire and throw it at Yuri. [00:06:34] Speaker E: It's fine. This is fine for a 19 that does unfortunately hit. [00:06:50] Speaker B: All right, that is going to be nine fire damage. Everything around you will take two splash damage. And also it's two persistent fire damage. [00:07:03] Speaker E: That's at the start or end of my turn? [00:07:06] Speaker B: End of your turn. [00:07:07] Speaker E: Okay. [00:07:11] Speaker B: Does kill one of the ghouls that's around you, though. [00:07:14] Speaker E: Good. [00:07:15] Speaker B: Get that. And then for his last action, he is just going to continue walking away, moving with a purpose. Gary, it is now your turn. [00:07:31] Speaker E: It sure is. Um, to get out of. To, like, if I'm grabbing someone, could I just let go? Is that an action? [00:07:46] Speaker B: Oh, that is. I'd say it's a free action. [00:07:51] Speaker E: Okay. So Eurudo would definitely have heard. Unsurprisingly, they're used to hearing leif say fuck you. So they would say. [00:08:06] Speaker B: So they don't think anything of it. [00:08:08] Speaker E: Well, it's more like they would recognize, like, that happening and see that this fucker is getting away. So I would like to then sudden charge this guy with my jaws. And it's two strides. That's 45ft away. Wow. I think my dice care more about lathe than about me. That's in that 20. Okay. [00:09:00] Speaker B: Okay. What is the. What is the damage type? Piercing your jaws. [00:09:05] Speaker E: Piercing jaws. Silver. Don't know if that matters, but I'm going to bring it up. [00:09:10] Speaker B: The card is called cleaned through, and it's triple damage. [00:09:17] Speaker E: So on my d ten, I rolled an eight. I had two. So it's 30 damage. [00:09:26] Speaker B: Still standing. You took a massive chunk out of him. He is still standing. [00:09:34] Speaker E: Gonna follow that up as a claw attack because that's two actions following that with one of my weird, fucked up claws. [00:09:44] Speaker B: Mm hmm. [00:09:48] Speaker E: That's better. I'm out of the plus one range anyways. So this is like my claws have agile. So it's only the minus four. Right? So 21. [00:10:10] Speaker B: That is just barely a hit. It's exact ac at the moment. [00:10:15] Speaker E: All right. Oh, so that's a five on the d six. That's seven slashing silver damage. [00:10:26] Speaker B: So for a moment you think you've done it. Blood gore everywhere. Talus spends a reaction for orc ferocity staying up at one gp. [00:10:51] Speaker E: Motherfucker. I'm so upset at you. I don't have reactions yet. So I should say. I should say this for a thing. I already rolled it, but on my beginning of my turn now, because I'm under half health, I have to roll a DC five check or go to bloodlust. That's fun. I passed that before I rolled. But that's future knowledge. Fucking one health. I think after that everyone will hear this, like, fucked up, like, animalistic version of Yuri's voice. Like, why won't you fucking die? Then how do I roll? For persistent damage? [00:11:42] Speaker B: Roll a D flat. D 20. Let me know if you get above a 15. [00:11:48] Speaker E: And in that 20, I guess. Okay, then. [00:11:51] Speaker B: Yeah. You don't. You recover from the persistent fire damage. You only take the two. [00:11:58] Speaker E: Cool, cool, cool, cool, cool, cool. It's really hard to tell in Yuri's current, like, whole state. Not doing great though. That is their turn. [00:12:14] Speaker B: Okay. It is the ghoul. They are going to spend their first action to swift leap at you, Yuri. Okay, first of all, and is going to attack you twice with its claws. I don't think an eleven or a seven hit. [00:12:37] Speaker E: You miss and critical miss, he lands. [00:12:41] Speaker B: On your back and just like, just trying to tear you up. It's just cutting the fur. It's just like trimming the fur. [00:12:49] Speaker E: Yeah, yeah. [00:12:50] Speaker B: There's so much fur. It's got to get through. And we'll back to not blackball, aka Conix, who is facing off against the raven mother and is just gonna. Gonna strike with the warhammer they're wielding for a 19 on the dice for a 32, which is critical hit for 28 damage. And you watch as this, this guy just sort of like hefts his Warhammer with two hands and brings it up through. And you just hear the crunching of bone as. Yeah. The raven mother is brought low and falls and doesn't move. [00:14:04] Speaker C: I'm not grappled anymore. [00:14:06] Speaker F: You're not grappled. [00:14:07] Speaker B: And then is going to move over to you, gravewing. And because they have a potion on their bandolier, will feed you. A potion. [00:14:23] Speaker C: All right. Instinctively, if he has to reach for my face and get too close to the goggles, I'm gonna react, grab his hand and be like, no. [00:14:37] Speaker B: He is a very, like, literally, your mouth is kind of open. He just uncorks that thing and just pours it into your mouth. [00:14:47] Speaker C: I wear something to cover that. No, unfortunately. Gotta touch her face. It pulls. [00:14:55] Speaker B: Yeah. Just enough heal. Twelve. Oh, yeah. Leith, you, you go. You're fine. You're unconscious. You're at the top of initiative. You'll go next round because you were knocked down by. You were. You were knocked down by Talus, so therefore you moved before him in the initiative. [00:15:22] Speaker D: Yeah. So, okay. [00:15:24] Speaker B: Hmm. You don't have to worry this round about making any checks. And that'll bring us to grafling. [00:15:34] Speaker C: Okay, cool. I'm twelve. I've healed twelve. I am not twelve. That was weird. Had. I have thoughts in my head and they all came out as garbage. Let me see. I'm very curious. Just. Sorry, this is me doing. Doing some math here. [00:15:59] Speaker B: If that route would take you through enemies, if you would want to do a tumble through to avoid them. [00:16:05] Speaker C: Yeah, tumble, tumble throughs would be happening. I am just trying to see how far I can get. I can get so far with, with my, with just two strides. Okay, I'm going to. I've got, I've got two potions. They're both lesser healing and I think I'm going to take one because like, twelve is good. But if I'm going to do what I'm going to do, I'm. It's going to take me two actions to get where I need to go anyways. But yeah, I might as well be fucking jacked. Just in case, I don't know, fuck up and get hit. Um. Whoa. What was the healing on a lesser potion? It was two d eight. Right? That's it. [00:17:07] Speaker B: A lesser. Yeah, lesser is two d eight plus five. [00:17:10] Speaker C: Oh, plus five. Thank you. [00:17:18] Speaker B: Yeah, you would have to. You are considered prone because you are unconscious. So you will have to spend an action to stand up. [00:17:30] Speaker C: Oh, that's very unfortunate then. 1 second. I'm gonna change my whole turn now. [00:17:34] Speaker E: Okay. [00:17:39] Speaker C: Yeah, no, that, that's a bad idea. No, it's not. Lev is there. I'm not taking a potion then. And if I'm prone, then it'll be an action to get to stand up and then stride all the way to where lathe is I'm passing enemy spaces. Is the attack of opportunity or is it tumbling? [00:18:15] Speaker B: If you want to tumble through. Through, which is a acrobatics check. [00:18:26] Speaker C: Oh, I think. I think I do it just fine. 2nd 23. [00:18:41] Speaker B: 23. Will, uh, will definitely have is enough to pass all of their reflex ccs so you can tumble through them, slither around. Slither through, whatever. [00:18:56] Speaker C: Yeah, I think it's. I think it's literally just slithering around. I'm gonna disrespectfully slither underneath the brute's legs. Like you couldn't even if he tried kind of vibe. So I can just get right up by Laithe, technically, in front of them to put some. Just in case that ghoul gets any ideas. But yeah, like, Laith is not in the most great position for me to put myself in between them and enemies just because of the way it is. It's a fucking straight line. But yeah, that's. That's my whole turn. I have potions and maybe I can just bottle feed Laithe something that their mother couldn't do. [00:19:55] Speaker B: Alistair, it is now your turn. [00:19:58] Speaker F: I mentioned this earlier when we were talking privately as they get forward. That guy that's trying to get away is actually the guy that I'm investigating right now. Right? [00:20:11] Speaker B: Yes. [00:20:13] Speaker F: Okay. I hope this works out because it will be funny if it does. So since he is my lead, I will free action. There we go. Free action. Devises, stratagem. As I watch him walking away and I'm like, you are not getting away from me. Come on. Good roll. Okay. I will spend a action to reload. [00:20:55] Speaker B: Didn't you do that at the end. [00:20:56] Speaker A: Of your last turn? [00:20:58] Speaker F: No. Cause I repositioned. [00:21:00] Speaker B: Oh, yeah. [00:21:01] Speaker F: Um, sorry. Now I'm thinking. Cause that was a terrible, terrible role. [00:21:17] Speaker B: There are a lot of ads currently that are all gonna be lined for Yuri and the dread doctor. [00:21:28] Speaker F: Yeah, I will stride to get a little bit closer. I was hoping that what would happen is I would, like, take him out with one hit and it would be hilarious from across the room. Wouldn't even need to move. Uh, so I will go ahead and target instead this ghoul. Uh, just give him a shot and, um, I can't use. I have to unclick. Devise a stratagem. There we go. [00:22:12] Speaker B: Roll. [00:22:14] Speaker F: Oh. Hey, will, a 28 hit that ghoul. [00:22:18] Speaker B: The 28 will crit that goal. [00:22:21] Speaker F: Yay. So I can actually do some reasonable damage. That'd be a roll of one. Oh, no. Hey, 14 piercing. [00:22:32] Speaker B: Yeah. You will take that ghoul out with a crossbow. Bolt through the eye. [00:22:39] Speaker F: Hey, I did a thing without Devisa stratagem, consolation, ghoul. That will be my turn. [00:22:47] Speaker B: All right. And it is ankos turn. They're gonna spend their first action to move and come up behind this ghoul soldier, and then their other two actions, to spell strike with ink shot. And that is going to hit even though they roll through like garbage on the die. And so that is going to deal damage. Awesome. Yeah. Nope. That is more than enough to take this ghoul out. And you watch as this sort of segmented scythe cleaves through this ghoul. And as it does, you watch the acid from inkshot sort of burn away its flesh. All right? And that is Akos's turn. And we'll breathe up to Nile. [00:24:13] Speaker C: Hello, it's me, Niall. I don't need people. Ah. Gonna take a stride. Um, as, like, 25, was it? Yeah, like, 25ft up. Kind of right behind Alistair once again, as Nile strides. Squishing noises can be here because all of. All of that fucking goo and totally not, because I picture him with clown shoes sometimes. And we should be in range for our own ink shot. So I'm gonna do ink shot first level as nile, not a spell strike. We're not that fancy. Gonna hero point that and change my dice. Works that 20. [00:25:11] Speaker B: Well, it's double damage. And the card that I pulled for niall is olfactory overload. So it loses its sense of smell or any scent ability or other olfactory stuff until healed. [00:25:22] Speaker C: He gets over. I know that. Okay, look, I know flavor text, um, and narrative purposes, how it's probably just black goo being, like, shot out and whatnot. However, for the purpose of the crit, and I will tell this to tick, I think. Dial finds some spoiled rations, turns it into a fucking ball, and throws it, and it lands on the zombie's nose. Um, do do do do do do do. 1 second. What is the damage on this? Oh, it's two d six doubled. Okay. It's poison damage, by the way. I feel like I should mention that you'd know this. You. You just did it with akos. But just in case, for the. For the audience, 18 points of poison damage. [00:26:21] Speaker B: All right, that is including the double. [00:26:27] Speaker C: Yes. Yeah, it's just two d six, right? Yes. [00:26:32] Speaker B: Two d six plus there. [00:26:36] Speaker C: I don't think so. I actually don't remaster. [00:26:39] Speaker D: Most spells don't add. [00:26:42] Speaker B: I forgot. Yeah. [00:26:45] Speaker C: Yeah. Nine doubled. 18. [00:26:48] Speaker B: Yeah. So, yeah, 18 damage. It's still standing, so, yeah. And that'll bring us to Lou don't worry about the dead raven, mother. I'm sure there's nothing there. Don't look too closely at it. [00:27:03] Speaker A: I have other things to look at right now. All the way across the room, directly in front of me, is a man who has tried to kill my cousin, possibly killed lathe, a stranger. A stranger I care a lot about, and has created ghoul fever. I feel like there's a lot of proof for the creating ghoul fever surrounding me right now. [00:27:35] Speaker B: Oh, yes. [00:27:36] Speaker A: And also, we're just not thinking very hard about consequences right now. We're only thinking about the moment and surviving. [00:27:47] Speaker B: So. [00:27:51] Speaker A: Lou is going to narratively, not mechanically, because I need that action. I'm not going to do it mechanically. Okay? I just need you. I just need. You just need to know that. Okay. [00:28:04] Speaker B: Okay. [00:28:05] Speaker A: She's going to reach into her bag and exploit vulnerability by pulling out the broken ram's horn that she got from his mantle, that apparently is Talus's actual horn from his own body. Yep. [00:28:22] Speaker B: You can see the cracked horn on his head. [00:28:24] Speaker A: Yeah. And she will crumple up into little. Rip into little pieces, one of the cantrip cards into the base of the horn, and then blow it. And there is, like, a big horn noise, and she's going to shoot Rhea frost at him, which has 120 foot range. And the reason I didn't do exploit vulnerability for real is because it doesn't help my attack. And I think two d four is gonna get him no matter what. If I make the attack roll before I go, we have another hero point, right? Just in case. [00:29:06] Speaker B: Yes. Yes, you do. [00:29:07] Speaker A: And I have a plus one from Akos. [00:29:09] Speaker B: Yes, you do. [00:29:11] Speaker A: Get in the bloody tray. Okay. Um, do I add anything to this role besides Akos? [00:29:22] Speaker B: Um, it would actually go off your intelligence modifier. [00:29:27] Speaker A: Oh, I got that. Hang on. I got intelligence. Okay. Okay, so it's gonna be plus three. [00:29:33] Speaker B: Yeah, it'd be that plus your proficiency, because I do have spells. [00:29:40] Speaker A: It wouldn't be using my spell, would it? [00:29:43] Speaker C: Do you have a spell attack? [00:29:45] Speaker A: Yeah, I got a spell attack. [00:29:46] Speaker C: That. [00:29:47] Speaker B: Pretty sure you would use that. Yeah, that's. [00:29:49] Speaker C: That. [00:29:50] Speaker A: Better. Better. Marvelous. Okay, so that's gonna be. Yeah, 25. [00:29:55] Speaker B: 25 will hit. [00:30:01] Speaker A: Just kill the mother camera. I'm not gonna bother rolling. Damage this one. [00:30:09] Speaker C: Health. [00:30:09] Speaker B: And he doesn't have another reaction. [00:30:11] Speaker A: It's a. [00:30:12] Speaker C: With inspiring current. With inspiring courage. That's already up, like, a plus one to the damage. [00:30:18] Speaker A: Yeah. So the worst I could roll is a three, which seems to be enough to take him out. [00:30:23] Speaker B: He doesn't have a reaction. Can't use his ferocity again. [00:30:27] Speaker A: I just want to turn him into an icicle. An icicle. Mandy. A whole frozen statue. And she's gonna feel real good about it in, like, 20 minutes. [00:30:37] Speaker B: Yeah. As it hits and does that, you blow off part of the gas mask enough to see the face. And these. There's something wrong with his eyes. Eyes should not look like that as they. You can see these red veins in them and this sort of almost just wild look he has behind this mask. And his face and the rest of his body is frozen that way with this wild look. Whoa. [00:31:19] Speaker A: I'm so glad I'm 120ft away and can't see this. [00:31:24] Speaker B: Yuri gets a great look at it. [00:31:25] Speaker A: Yuri gets a great look at it. Marvelous. Then I think my last action, because that was a two action cantrip, is to. Oh, I kind of want to run gaily to laith, but I can't reach her. So we're just going to throw a card at the zombie instead. It's less gay, but you know, what it is is what it is. Never mind. That's gonna be 13. No, 15. Oh, wait. Aka. So 16. [00:32:05] Speaker B: That's 16. Will hit the brute. [00:32:07] Speaker A: Oh, gets paid. [00:32:10] Speaker E: 16. [00:32:10] Speaker A: Okay, that's a d six. No, stop it. That's gonna be seven. Seven. Yes. Seven. Sorry. [00:32:27] Speaker B: Seven. Yeah, it is still standing, but barely. [00:32:31] Speaker A: Whoo. [00:32:33] Speaker C: There's me. [00:32:35] Speaker B: All right, it is now Leno's turn. And Leno will raise or composite short bow and take a shot at the brute. Come on, pretend. Let's try that again. Much better for 16. And for nine damage. And gets this one right in the eye. And it hear this thump as. As it falls over. It's the end of that turn, and we'll be back to the top of the round. No one is stabilized late, so I need that. [00:33:32] Speaker D: That roll so I can use a hero point to automatically stabilize. [00:33:39] Speaker B: Yes, you can. [00:33:39] Speaker D: Otherwise. Do I have to? Is it like you make three rolls? [00:33:42] Speaker B: Like, you would make one roll? Yeah, you would make a roll. You could make a roll. Or just spend your hero point and just be like, I'm stable. [00:33:50] Speaker D: Yeah, I will make the roll. Or, no, I will use the hero point. [00:33:54] Speaker B: Sounds good. You were stable. You were unconscious, essentially, and then that'll bring us to Yuri, and I think there's really only one thing you can do. [00:34:04] Speaker E: Cool. Well, there's two things I could do. First, I need to make a DC five. Check. [00:34:08] Speaker B: Yes. [00:34:10] Speaker E: Urido is too kind of enraged. Maybe just in general. Not bloodless enrage. Well, I saw. I saw a one, but it was a 15. Not. But enraged. But regular enraged is going to turn down, turn around and jaw attack this ghoul behind them. I'm a music hero. Point. That's. That one was a one. Oh, then this one was a 19. Yeah, plus. Well, 19 on the dice. Plus 827. [00:34:49] Speaker B: 27. That's a crit. [00:34:52] Speaker E: Beautiful. That is going to be 612 damage. [00:35:00] Speaker B: Twelve damage. I imagine it kind of looks like when a dog grabs something and just vigorously shakes it. [00:35:07] Speaker E: Yeah. No, like you're though, like, monstrous jaws just kind of grab around the body and, like, tosses it to the side. Um, so that's that. That's everything, right? [00:35:24] Speaker B: Yeah, that is the. The last enemy. It is done. It's the dread doctor lays dead. And you are all win. [00:35:38] Speaker A: Sorry, did you just say lay this dead? [00:35:40] Speaker B: No, the dread doctor is dead. Lays dead. Lays dead. [00:35:46] Speaker A: I got you. I understand. [00:35:47] Speaker C: Now I bottle feed lace. [00:35:52] Speaker E: I'm going to slowly turn back to normal size. The under, like, undershirt I was wearing is just fucking gone. [00:36:07] Speaker B: Yeah. Watch as, uh, is this place. Anko says, do you want the long or short answer? [00:36:22] Speaker F: The long answer. Definitely the long answer. [00:36:25] Speaker E: No, no, please. Oh, my face. [00:36:30] Speaker B: Long story short, it is swear ghoul fever started used to be where he would test whatever he was making for the holy blood. Well, I'm certainly glad that all of you seem to have survived. Sorry I didn't find you earlier. Ended up being a little bit hard to track down. [00:37:06] Speaker C: Mm hmm. So do you have any idea where a cure might be? Because this place seems incredibly unsanitary. I say all of this, and I help Leif stamp back up. Laith also healed 17. [00:37:31] Speaker A: Nice. [00:37:33] Speaker B: I believe there might be a cure in one of his books. But little birdie also told me that there's somebody working on a cure out in the city. Last I heard, Juniper Novak is still kicking. But yes, meet your two new friends. Operative connexential and Lena devries. [00:37:59] Speaker E: Eura, though, is slowly walking across the room to pick up their coat that's on the ground. [00:38:05] Speaker A: I haven't moved at any point during this fight, so I will pick it up and just hold it for you without looking at you. [00:38:15] Speaker E: I will take it. And then also just like, kind of just moving forward, this conversation for now. This is stuff for later between curses. So we could get the notes here. Get working on it immediately. Yeah, take it to whoever's working on it. [00:38:45] Speaker B: I guess I can take you to juniper tomorrow. It is almost four in the morning and you all look very tired. There is one more thing I need from you, though. I'm gonna need to borrow you all for just a moment. Well, specifically, I only need the rat, but. [00:39:13] Speaker F: I go find out the rest of the story. [00:39:18] Speaker B: We could talk about it on the way. But I need the rat. You are all more than welcome to come along. So, set, these are your two friends. Helena left them with me to give to you because you probably are going to need people in your corner. [00:39:34] Speaker D: And why are you in our corner now, Akos? I heard that you were with Talos until not too long ago. [00:39:44] Speaker B: Say, um, change of heart. My own people trying to murder me. [00:39:57] Speaker D: So less a change of heart and more a change of safety. A change of circumstance. [00:40:04] Speaker B: For now, we both can help each other. I want revenge, and you want access to powerful people in the city. I can get you that. And, hey, if you kill them along the way, even better. You're all wanted criminals. It's fine. The cousins there were thrown in jail for kidnapping and suspicion of murderous laithe. You murdered your own mother. It's great. So I'm not sure you have much room to talk there. Trust me, I knew she was a horrible, horrible woman. A bitch, so I don't blame you at all. I probably would have done it if you hadn't, you know, grave wing vigilantism and murder of the last high priestess, which I know you didn't do, so don't worry about that. Um, you killed. You killed misery, but you did not kill Tasrani. Uh, and, uh, well, the rat. Breaking and entering, a possible murder, uh, someone missing. So it's not like any of you can actually go out in the city without my help. Where are you taking the rat for? Cannibalism. Yeah, we know, Niall. [00:41:45] Speaker A: Yeah, does. [00:41:47] Speaker C: What the fuck? [00:41:52] Speaker F: I told you. [00:41:59] Speaker A: But this is blackmail. Is that what this is? [00:42:03] Speaker F: I think it's extortion. Blackmail would be if he was trying to get us to give him money. [00:42:15] Speaker B: Yes, I think we all can help each other. [00:42:23] Speaker C: I also think Akos is unfortunately in the same boat that we are. I mean, you deserve it. We're being really. I gesture to the entire room. You deserve it. But I think we're all. Ugh. What's the terminal? Not great bed, fellows. Yeah, fucked is way better. [00:42:52] Speaker B: Yeah, between a rock and a hard place. [00:43:01] Speaker E: We talk more tomorrow. I think I need a bath. [00:43:05] Speaker B: You probably need several things, but yes. Come with me. First, we get this done, I will be out of your hair once we get this done. I have people to meet and deals to arrange, but I need something and I need the rat to get it. [00:43:24] Speaker A: Alistair. [00:43:24] Speaker B: Need you to get it. Yes. Now is actually the best time. The district is in disarray. The ghouls are unsure of what to do and we carved our way through quite a few of them to get here. So it will be very easy to get to where we need to go. We're going to the tower, specifically. [00:43:44] Speaker E: Oh, okay. [00:43:49] Speaker A: Come on. [00:43:51] Speaker F: I'm too tired to argue. [00:43:55] Speaker E: Which is. [00:43:56] Speaker F: Unusual if you know me. [00:43:59] Speaker E: I. I want to just stay a little bit back with Lou. And just so clearly we should actually talk about what's going on. [00:44:12] Speaker A: Oh, no, I don't think we need to do that. We have so many better things to do right now. Don't worry about that. Everything is totally fine. She's also just not looking at you directly. She's like looking at your shoes. [00:44:29] Speaker E: Yeah, yeah. No. You're about to put a hand on your shoulder. Sees that their hands are disgusting. Just. I get it. Arrest. But I think I have to keep pushing this off. You need to know. [00:44:55] Speaker A: I don't. I don't know. I guess that doesn't matter though, does it? [00:45:05] Speaker E: It's understandable. But it's better to know or to learn. You won't. Maybe you'll never accept it. I'm still going through that. It's been years. [00:45:26] Speaker A: It. We are all like that. [00:45:39] Speaker E: I don't know if we're all. But definitely us. Maybe the younger ones, but definitely yes. [00:46:01] Speaker B: Oh. [00:46:06] Speaker A: I don't really, um. I don't really want to hurt people. [00:46:16] Speaker E: I know you don't. But that's why there is a lot of things your father refused to tell you. [00:46:32] Speaker A: It knows. [00:46:38] Speaker E: I think now Yuri just will put a hand on your shoulder and give it a slight squeeze. What? We'll talk in a bit. [00:46:55] Speaker A: And she still has just looked at the floor the entire time and then just pulls away. And Yuri probably just catches a quick glimpse of her, wiping one tear out of the way and then watching a handful of feathers hit the ground as she just leaves the room. [00:47:22] Speaker B: So yeah, you will. [00:47:26] Speaker A: Unless I have to make like an involuntary perception check. [00:47:33] Speaker B: You all take time to grab whatever you can and I'll give you exactly what you find in chat later and go over it. But Akos leads you out of the mansion and you can see that the district itself is. Theres a lot of corpses. The three of them cut their way through the district, getting to the mansion, and they lead you through alleyways and everything, avoiding any of the remaining undead. And eventually you find yourself standing before the wizard's. Tower. And Akkos turns to Alistair and goes, okay, this is what I need you for. I'm gonna need you to go touch that door. [00:48:28] Speaker F: Ooh, is it magic? [00:48:30] Speaker B: Yes, it is magic. [00:48:30] Speaker F: Hesitation just runs up and touches the door. [00:48:39] Speaker D: And blade makes a very important gesture to stop him, but misses. [00:48:46] Speaker A: I'm too distracted to stop you. Good luck. [00:48:49] Speaker B: As you touch the door, there's the feeling of dissipating magic and it unlocks. [00:48:58] Speaker F: I guess you can't see in the podcast the look of wonder that I'm tempting to make on my face. And like the deep inhale of. [00:49:11] Speaker B: I'm glad that worked. I wasn't sure, but it worked. But yes, I believe Alistair. You should go first, just in case. I think anything in there is. We'll recognize you, so it will shut down. [00:49:35] Speaker F: I knew I was magic. I'll walk in and like, just kid in the candy store. What's the. What's the word? Uh, bobbling. [00:49:47] Speaker B: Mm hmm. [00:49:48] Speaker A: Boggling. Boggling, I think. [00:49:50] Speaker F: Boggling, yes, the. The weird eye things. [00:49:54] Speaker B: Boggling. Yeah. As you do. This is. There's a lot of dust everywhere. This tower hasn't been opened in hundreds of years, but you are all opened up into this thing. There's books that line the walls on any subject you can imagine. There are so many things in here, it will take you days to sort through everything. This person certainly was a. No pun intended. Well, pun slightly intended. A pack rat. And ako sort of starts moving and looking through the debris here, and after a minute or two pulls out a long wooden box and opens it before closing it and says, yep, what I was looking for. [00:50:58] Speaker F: Wait, what is that? [00:51:02] Speaker B: We'll turn and open the box for all of you. Inside of the box, you see a perfectly well, not really preserved because it still looks alive. An arm severed just above the elbow. It looks alive and it twitches slightly. [00:51:29] Speaker E: Fuck. [00:51:30] Speaker F: Can we tell what it is? [00:51:34] Speaker B: Give me anybody who wants. Give me a. You can do any of the arcana, occultism or religion. [00:51:45] Speaker C: Would you allow society. [00:51:49] Speaker B: Yes, at a slightly higher IDC, would. [00:51:52] Speaker A: You allow esoteric or cursed? [00:51:55] Speaker B: Either of those. Either of those. [00:51:58] Speaker C: Can I make Niall roll for this too? [00:52:00] Speaker B: Sure. Yeah. [00:52:02] Speaker C: Cool. [00:52:04] Speaker E: Eurydo is too tired to fully comprehend it. Just why. Why is there Alistar? Are you part of cannibals too? [00:52:19] Speaker F: No, I mean, even if I was eating people. No. No offense, Niall, but would it be cannibalism? [00:52:37] Speaker A: Oh, because you are a rat instead of. I think it matters because we are all people, you know? So I think the definition is a bit broader. [00:52:48] Speaker F: I wouldn't do it because we're all people. But no offense, Niall. [00:52:54] Speaker C: The double whammy alone is the reason why Niall for sure doesn't succeed in this role. And Jesse shrugs and maybe decides to walk outside of the room and just stay there. [00:53:07] Speaker B: Yeah, well, this. You all rolled high enough. This is a piece of the scarlet queen years and years ago rule the kingdom. And the only way they were ever able to get her to stop was by chopping up her body. And that didn't even kill it. [00:53:30] Speaker C: So. So why do you want that? [00:53:36] Speaker D: Trading one cult for another? Akos. [00:53:40] Speaker B: Mmm. They, um. It's more of it's less I'm wanting to join and more of I want to bargain. And once I learned for help. [00:53:58] Speaker A: Please be more specific. We are tired. It is for I am what you want. What are you doing? [00:54:06] Speaker B: I'm using the peace of the scarlet queen to bargain for support for people. You have seven months. It is seven months until the centennial of the tyrant's arrival. And if nothing is stopped, the world will end. [00:54:31] Speaker E: It's 430 in the morning and you're dropping. [00:54:35] Speaker B: Yes. Now you are asking questions. And I'm giving you answers. [00:54:40] Speaker E: Fuck me. You're right, I guess. Fuck me. No world's gonna end. I get it. [00:54:46] Speaker B: Yes. [00:54:47] Speaker A: Why do you know for sure? Why are you not lying? You could be lying. [00:54:53] Speaker B: Because I was the one that was the head of the cult that was going to end the world. [00:55:00] Speaker A: Oh, so this is your fault. [00:55:02] Speaker E: Okay, so insider knowledge. Okay. [00:55:05] Speaker B: It's going to happen no matter what, unless you stop the people who, um, usurped me. [00:55:17] Speaker F: Is it the scriabins? [00:55:19] Speaker B: Oh, they're connected, but it's not them. [00:55:25] Speaker F: Everything's connected. [00:55:28] Speaker B: It's. The person who's now in control of the unbroken is high priest. High priest Strauss. Cygnus Strauss, the one who betrayed me and threw me in jail. [00:55:43] Speaker C: You get. You cannot see her face, but you shall feel it. There is a look. There is a vibe. The vibe is murder. If gravewing had a bankaiden, it'd be pure fucking Kibachi soraki vibes. Right now, the room is going to feel as heavy as I can. Will it? I might even activate my kinetic gate just to allow more air to be pressured down on us in the room. And, um, Bravewig will just be like, you better keep talking. I don't care what time it is. [00:56:36] Speaker B: Yes, well, in seven months, Cygnus Strauss will end the world if you don't stop him. And for that, you are going to need people you're going to need allies. I'm doing my part to get you some allies with this. I know that the scarlet bond may not be the one that you really want to go for, but they certainly don't want the world to end. [00:57:06] Speaker F: Why don't you want the world to end? Weren't you the leader of the apocalypse cult? [00:57:14] Speaker B: It is a really long story and it definitely involves with me just more of wanting to kill Cygnus Strauss at this moment. A tyrant influences people. People. I will not say everything I did under the unbroken was all of my choices. At points. [00:57:48] Speaker E: When they say the tyrant, does that ring a bell for any of us? [00:57:54] Speaker B: It's the thing in the sky. You've all heard stories of the tyrant. [00:58:00] Speaker F: Look up. [00:58:01] Speaker B: Yeah, yeah. [00:58:03] Speaker E: Look up. Forehead. I caught it. Okay. You read those like. Well, I could probably help with that. [00:58:15] Speaker F: I knew it was all connected. [00:58:20] Speaker B: Yes. Well, I'm going to set out in the morning to Galenia to bargain with Scarlet Bond. Bring them a piece of what they want and in return for money and people. [00:58:46] Speaker F: If, like this is itself kind of apocalyptic, do you know how many pieces they have of her? [00:59:04] Speaker B: I do not. I know that they definitely don't have all of them. And they're missing the crown. Which last thing new is in the headmasters office at Ravenswood. [00:59:26] Speaker E: No, keep talking. [00:59:28] Speaker B: So they would need that to complete it. And honestly, they do. Bring her back. We'll just dismember her again. [00:59:38] Speaker A: I have a question. The UCT crown is in the headmasters office. Is the headmaster one of the ones? This is also a question for the group at large who tried to kill Eleanor. [00:59:59] Speaker B: Yes. I believe he believe he did. [01:00:03] Speaker A: Okay. Just thought I'd clarify that. That does it make the crown feel terribly safe. But it is. [01:00:19] Speaker D: Why us, Akos? Did you have a hand in bringing us into that same cell? Or is this all just Gizmita? Do you just need bodies for your war against your usurper? [01:00:38] Speaker B: I didn't have any hand in uniting all of us. But you all. We all ended up in the same cell for a reason. One of the gods was nudging pieces into play. And I. If anything, I. I can think clearly now for the first time in about 30 years. When you're close to the tyrant, it warps your mind and it makes you see actions that it wants as things that you want. I just wanted power. I was no one. I wanted power to make those who hurt me pay. The tyrant gave it to me. And I did many horrible things for it. [01:01:58] Speaker F: So you were close to the tyrant. You did many horrible things for it. You got arrested, and you were in the shade and away from it, and you got better. [01:02:14] Speaker B: Long story short. Yes. And I. [01:02:19] Speaker F: Okay, I think we can work together if everyone else is on board, but maybe you should, like, like some sort of metal umbrella or something, just so you're not close to it anymore. [01:02:42] Speaker A: What does count as close to something that is in the sky? Out of curiosity and of where others, I suppose. [01:02:52] Speaker B: Are any of you actively worshipping it, leaving it, killing people and offering to it? [01:03:03] Speaker A: Not me. [01:03:05] Speaker B: Well, then that counts as close to it worshipping it. At first, it was just all felt. All the gods had abandoned me and yada, yada, yada, yada. And that is a sad sob story that I don't think any of you want to hear. [01:03:20] Speaker F: Okay, so we don't. We don't have to be worried about. Sorry. [01:03:24] Speaker A: No, no, you're correct. We are on the same page here. [01:03:29] Speaker B: Yeah. [01:03:29] Speaker F: We don't have to worry about, like, airships. It's just worshipping the. The. I was a little worried. [01:03:36] Speaker E: Yes. [01:03:37] Speaker B: And literally, I don't care what you do after this is all done. Throw me in jail if you want. I just want a chance to pay back. [01:03:49] Speaker F: I don't think. I mean, the rulers and, like, rich people do so much worse. And they're not brainwashed, so. [01:04:01] Speaker B: Are you sure? [01:04:03] Speaker C: No. You will pay it back, be it this and then afterwards. And I'm gonna make sure of that because this, all of this, this entire district, the way I see it, it's your fault. [01:04:18] Speaker B: Yes, it is. [01:04:21] Speaker C: So you're gonna pay for that. You can start with this. And I'm on board because that motherfucker owes me a face. [01:04:31] Speaker B: Good. Good to know. I suggest that you all pay a visit to the bloody blades soon. The guards are locking districts down, requiring identification papers to pass between. I can get you to salvation room and then there, search out the bloody blades. They can get you false papers. In the meantime, I think we all need to sleep. [01:05:07] Speaker F: Yes, sleep, I say as I slowly pull out, like, the biggest looking book and, like, walk away with it behind my back. [01:05:25] Speaker E: Just gonna slowly walk back and let her looking at, like, the shred of the normal shirt like this is like, I only have one shirt left now. [01:05:45] Speaker D: You don't look any worse than normal. [01:05:51] Speaker E: You're just gonna look up at you blink very slowly because they're too fucking tired. Glad you didn't die this time. They just walk out. They're gonna lead the way back, if anything. And they're probably extra tired, like with their bones having to regrow back to a normal size. [01:06:22] Speaker B: Yeah. Well, you all head back to the Wollstonecraft manor to actually get some sleep. And I believe that's where we'll end it. Welcome to the end of season one. Season two. Soon we've got a really cool show that'll be airing in between. But yes, next season will involve rebellion, including a rebellion system that I have adapted from Pathfinder, first edition. And so if you get a sneak peek at the rules for that, you should definitely subscribe on Patreon where you can get access to the Knox light world document. You can learn all about the gods, learn about all of the world, of the history that I've written, that other people have written too. I've got some awesome people in here who are writing some stuff for that. I'm very excited and yeah, and any actually homebrew, if you want to play the. The sorcerer bloodline that Niall is, you can do that. Among other various homebrew things I have written for Knox Light. But yeah, that is up to you, Aki. Now to take us out. [01:07:48] Speaker C: Wow, y'all, isn't that crazy that today, this one, this episode in particular was the finale. Did we know? No. Did you see how the fucking combat ended last time? Just. Bye. [01:09:13] Speaker A: Dream live.
