Episode Transcript
[00:00:43] Speaker A: Waking up dreaming dark so long I cannot find meaning hold my hand let me stay by your side through this never ending night I can feel it now it holds me all the these demons always roam me in this red light because me he is reaching out consuming.
[00:01:30] Speaker B: Welcome back to Goblets and Gaze. I'm Aubrey, your gm and I'll tell Servoid players to introduce themselves, who they are, who they're playing and we'll get on rolling into things.
[00:01:38] Speaker C: Hi, I'm Maki. My pronouns are she, her and I play Gravewing, the Nagaji sylph vigilante monk slash air kineticist who also uses she her pronouns and she is the party mom slash strategist of the rebellion.
[00:01:56] Speaker D: Hello, hello, I'm Alyssa, my pronouns are they, them and I play Leith Idrisi iv, the matricidal dampier, dandy, rogue and spymaster who uses she any pronouns?
[00:02:11] Speaker E: Hello, I am Dusty, I use they he pronouns and I'm playing Yurido, just Yurido. Still, they are our nephilim cursed boy of a problem.
They are going to be the party and the Rebellion's firebrand and they also use they he pronouns.
[00:02:35] Speaker F: Hello, I am Faris, I use she her pronouns and I am playing Alouette Valer, a totally normal Nephilim thaumaturge bard having a very normal and good time learning all about her way more cursed family. She also uses she her pronouns and is the anathema partisan.
[00:02:53] Speaker G: Hello, I am Sparlock and both me and my character use he him pronouns.
I'm going by Alistair Whiskerfield, wizard detective extraordinaire, as heir to the fine distinguished family of wizard mice, Ratzerts, Esoki, Arcanists, I swear I was always aware of it. I keep my whiskers to the ground to uncover the truth of the powers that be who subjugate us, by which I mean I'm our recruiter and hello.
[00:03:26] Speaker H: To round off the group. I am Tick, I have he, she, they pronouns and today you'll be playing Nile, a flesh warp sorcerer who is just a totally ordinary cook and quartermaster for the group and definitely not a cannibal parenthesis. He's a cannibal, but it's a dietary restriction so don't be too mean to him.
[00:03:46] Speaker B: And now is the time where I ask what happened last time?
[00:03:50] Speaker H: Non related violence happened this time as we entered the chamber and found someone unconscious and a lot of the holy blood, the lamplighters, the cool guys, you know, the cops basically beating them up and being like a little evil and suspicious and we Were like, ah, the cops.
No, because we're criminals. We do crimes. And so we went and started beating the out of them. But they're very strong, which is very unfortunate. And it's honestly been a back and forth battle as these very competent assassins and fighters have been giving us a run for money. Graveling has been doing the melee very, very well. Some assassins have been beating up Leith, and Leith scampered off to go help the unconscious person. And we last ended with one of them doing drugs.
[00:04:35] Speaker B: Yeah, yeah. It's their turn. They spent their first action to activate the the collar of the shifting spider and injecting themselves with a beastial mutagen. And. And now going to spend a couple actions to attack at grave wing.
And that is going to be a 30 to hit grave wing.
[00:04:59] Speaker C: It'll hit. It won't crit.
I will raise the shield to mitigate some of that damage because I have a strong feeling.
[00:05:13] Speaker B: Yeah, I believe it will mitigate 5 of the damage.
And it is going to. It is going to be 16, so mitigated by 5. 11.
And is going to attack one more time for a 21.
[00:05:34] Speaker C: With the circumstance bonus that I get from SHIELD because I believe it's still there until the end of the turn.
[00:05:43] Speaker B: I think when you use the reaction, it goes away.
[00:05:46] Speaker C: Does it?
[00:05:46] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:05:46] Speaker E: When you use the shield block, the shield breaks.
[00:05:49] Speaker B: Yeah, she'll breaks and goes away.
[00:05:51] Speaker C: Yeah, yeah. It says the spell ends. Okay. Yeah, it will hit. That's my exact AC.
[00:05:56] Speaker B: Okay.
And then that'll be 14 slashing damage.
[00:06:02] Speaker C: Y'all better start healing me.
[00:06:05] Speaker B: All right. And that'll bring us to. To Yuri.
[00:06:11] Speaker E: Looks over and give me a second to help. And I'm gonna first swing at the one in front of me to try to take them down. Gonna use a cool, fancy hero point.
I have no good dice right now. They've all been betraying me.
All right, that's a 16 on the dice.
I think that's gonna make it a 25.
[00:06:35] Speaker C: 25.
[00:06:36] Speaker E: 25.
[00:06:37] Speaker B: 25 will hit.
[00:06:39] Speaker E: Beautiful. So let's see. That's going to be 11 plus 6 plus 2. 17. 19 slashing 6.
[00:06:48] Speaker B: That fire, they are still standing, but barely.
[00:06:54] Speaker E: One more time with bigger.
That is a 19 on the dice. So plus that nine minus four.
[00:07:06] Speaker B: Yeah. Four. Yeah. Five. Funny thing.
[00:07:09] Speaker H: Yeah.
[00:07:09] Speaker B: That is going to hit.
[00:07:12] Speaker E: One away for max damage. So 15 plus 24. 23 slashing damage.
[00:07:23] Speaker B: 23. Yeah.
They're dead.
[00:07:27] Speaker E: Great.
And then Yuri's gonna turn around. It's like, okay, kiss me stink. I'm Used battle medicine and cann. Ironically, it's going to be using the fiery blade to cauterize one of Brave Wing's wounds.
Yeah, that's going to be.
Oh, is this if my expert thinks I'm expert medicine? I think so.
[00:07:50] Speaker B: Yeah, you can. You can attempt that. DC20.
Yeah.
[00:07:54] Speaker E: Yeah, that's a 26 for me.
[00:07:56] Speaker B: Hell, yeah.
[00:07:57] Speaker E: So you are going to be getting two D8 plus 10. Aki, I'll let you roll that because, you know, it's you.
[00:08:11] Speaker B: Thank you.
[00:08:12] Speaker E: And that's my turn.
[00:08:13] Speaker C: 2D8. 2D8 plus 10 plus 10. Thank you.
[00:08:18] Speaker E: That is my turn.
[00:08:21] Speaker B: And that'll bring us to one of the Holy Blood assassins who watch Leith scamper off.
So they're gonna give chase.
[00:08:33] Speaker D: They don't have to. They could chase someone else.
[00:08:36] Speaker B: No, no.
This is the first action to step. So they're within five feet of length.
And then they're going to attack with the kukri.
And they succeed on their dazzle. Check for a 25.
[00:08:57] Speaker D: That's a hit.
[00:09:00] Speaker B: Or eight damage.
[00:09:03] Speaker D: Okay. As Leith is falling, I will use my final spite reaction to.
Let me read this real quick.
Yeah. I will use my final spite reaction to sort of slash out at the arm that is slashing at me. So they, like stab Laith stabs back, and then falls down unconscious.
Would I have map for this? For reaction?
[00:09:37] Speaker B: No.
[00:09:37] Speaker C: Okay.
[00:09:39] Speaker D: I will use a hero point because I want it to hit.
That is a 27 to hit.
[00:09:49] Speaker B: 27 will hit, not a crit.
[00:09:54] Speaker D: That is eight damage. Nine damage.
[00:09:58] Speaker B: Nine damage.
Unfortunately, you're not able to take them down with you because it's not enough to down them, alas.
And so, yeah, you are. Yeah, you will see Leith go down, and then this person is going to spend their third action to pull out a throwing knife. But unfortunately, they can't throw it, so they don't have the actions for it. So they're going to just stay there. And it's your new friend's turn.
And they sort of. They spend an action and they sit up, and you all can kind of see in this moment, whatever shirt they were wearing has been absolutely just sliced down the middle. And you can kind of see where their chest is knitting itself back together.
And underneath it, you can see these.
It doesn't look like organs, but honestly, none of you have seen anything that looks exactly like this before.
And you can kind of see. It's like the areas around where the skin is knitting itself back together is the areas that are glowing. And they see this. They See you on the ground, laith. And they go, oh, dear, that does seem to be a problem.
And they're going to reach out and give you a heal.
[00:11:35] Speaker D: Thank you.
[00:11:38] Speaker B: Let's see.
[00:11:41] Speaker C: That doesn't. That's not a bad thing, right? For you.
[00:11:43] Speaker D: I was going to say. Wait, does this actually help me?
[00:11:47] Speaker B: Let me see if they notice something first.
This seems something. They cast harm instead. They notice.
[00:11:57] Speaker C: This would have been a really funny way for us to all find out that le is up there.
[00:12:03] Speaker B: This versus clock deaths.
Well, actually, yeah. No, they're. They're. They're primal caster. So it's. Yeah, it's not great because it's just level one. So you get 15 health back lathe.
[00:12:25] Speaker D: That's not great. That's so good. That's half my health.
[00:12:29] Speaker B: They could have rolled a lot higher. It's just because they did a two action heal.
And they. They look around and just seem like, well, things haven't improved since I was last unconscious. This is not optimal.
Nile, is now your turn.
[00:12:47] Speaker H: I'm a little obscurity, bitch boy. I'm a little scaredy cat.
Bart.
There's two really strong people fighting two other really strong people right now, and they're looking beat up, but I think Lace is kind of gonna lose the 2v1. So I'm gonna needle darts this guy over here for my first two actions because I don't want to get into the fray because I'm a little bit of a coward.
I'm scared, honestly. I'm scared. I'm a normal guy. I'm not fighting this fight 1v1 in person, you know, And I'm gonna try needle darting. And we got a minus two. But let's hope for the best.
Oh, that's. That's. I don't think that's gonna hit.
[00:13:26] Speaker B: That's a 17 is unfortunately not going to hit.
Yes, Lou, it is. Now your.
[00:13:45] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:13:47] Speaker F: Okay.
So Lou, I think, recovers from seeing Laythe goes down and sort of swallows back what she had been about to do. And I think Laythe probably feels the earring pulse was something that did not go off.
And then she's going to.
So I believe the assassin that. That tried to kill Laythe most recently is the one I exploited earlier, if I remember correctly, and was looking at the right person when I said it. So I'm going to shoot another card right. Right at it.
Come on, dice. Be gay for once.
I'm gonna do it again.
You understood. You get the. You get what's happening here. I thank You. Thank you. Somebody who understands what's going on. Jeez. Can't believe I had a roll. Two whole attacks for this nonsense.
That's gonna be a.
Nope, not that. It's gonna be a 22. And that better hits because I rolled an apple. 19.
[00:15:11] Speaker B: That is going to hit.
[00:15:12] Speaker F: Thank you.
[00:15:14] Speaker H: Okay.
[00:15:14] Speaker F: Stabbed that sucker with a. With a card, which is going. And it's the exploited one, and she is ringing her bell at the same time just in case. So that is going to be 15 plus 6, which is more math than I can do right off the top of my head in panic mode. 21. 21. Slashing damage.
[00:15:37] Speaker B: They're dead.
[00:15:38] Speaker F: Oh, crap.
Maybe the first dice had it right.
[00:15:49] Speaker A: Oh, no, Lou, I'm sorry.
[00:15:54] Speaker F: You know what? I think her third action is literally just going to be just. Just drop to the ground and hold horror. We're not doing a third action. That's it.
[00:16:04] Speaker B: We're done, right? Yeah. But watch as it just, like, slices their throat. They just fall to the ground, grasping at their throat. The kill.
[00:16:12] Speaker F: Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. She's.
[00:16:13] Speaker B: She's bloody.
[00:16:14] Speaker F: She's having a meltdown. She's going to just have a meltdown behind a rock.
[00:16:19] Speaker B: Right. And it is the lamplighter who casts fear on Nile.
They are going to spend two actions to cast Tanglefoot at Yuri, but it's not gonna go through because they're stupefied.
[00:16:38] Speaker E: Hell, yeah. You just.
[00:16:40] Speaker B: They. They cannot afform the words over the ringing in their ears.
[00:16:44] Speaker E: Good. Good job.
[00:16:46] Speaker B: They are going to spend an action to stay where they are. I guess they're going to raise their shield again for a third action.
And we are down with this. This last assassin, and they just watched Lou murder their friends, so, you know, they're gonna spend an action to move over there, moving into melee range with Lou and stab down with that kukri.
[00:17:20] Speaker F: Hey, did I get any bonuses for the fact that I'm sitting on the ground?
[00:17:25] Speaker B: Your AC is lowered because you are prone. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Good.
[00:17:31] Speaker F: Good for them. They.
[00:17:32] Speaker B: They.
[00:17:32] Speaker F: They have earned this. I deserve this.
[00:17:34] Speaker B: That's a 22.
[00:17:36] Speaker F: Yeah, that'll hit. Not a. Not a crit.
[00:17:44] Speaker B: For 14 damage. That's fine.
[00:17:48] Speaker F: That's well earned.
[00:17:49] Speaker B: And they'll do it one more time.
[00:17:51] Speaker F: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
[00:17:55] Speaker B: For a 20.
That's also gonna hit for sure for nine damage.
[00:18:06] Speaker F: Yeah, yeah, yeah, we're. We're fine.
[00:18:11] Speaker B: On a. On like a scale of one to your full hp, how much you got?
[00:18:17] Speaker F: Three.
[00:18:19] Speaker B: Hell yeah.
[00:18:21] Speaker F: It's okay. She deserves this.
[00:18:25] Speaker B: Alistair.
[00:18:28] Speaker G: Lou, you have like 3 HP. Like, seriously?
[00:18:33] Speaker F: Uh huh.
[00:18:36] Speaker G: Well, you know, I heard that healing potions can actually heal emotional damage.
[00:18:48] Speaker H: These are physical wounds.
[00:18:50] Speaker F: Don't worry.
[00:18:52] Speaker G: No, no, but because I. I literally have a healing potion in my hand, so I will use an action to give you a healing potion for nine.
[00:19:06] Speaker F: Do I have to take it, or did you just pour it on my head?
[00:19:12] Speaker G: I don't know. How does. How does administering a potion. I know it's an action, but what does this look like? Do I just go here for the emotional damage?
[00:19:24] Speaker H: Drink this vodka. Down the hatch.
[00:19:29] Speaker G: The airplane's coming in.
[00:19:32] Speaker E: Thank you.
[00:19:38] Speaker G: Okay, but you're not, like, actively refusing? It's just a question of, like, mechanically.
[00:19:43] Speaker F: I'm just asking. Mechanically?
[00:19:44] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:19:44] Speaker F: Like, is this an action I have to take on my turn? Do I. Do I add the HP right now.
[00:19:48] Speaker B: Or do I wait right now?
[00:19:50] Speaker G: Yeah, it's in my hand. I'm giving it to you if Aleister's.
[00:19:54] Speaker B: Spending the action to administer it.
[00:19:56] Speaker F: Okay, yeah, that was just. My question is whether or not the HP applies now or later.
[00:20:01] Speaker G: All right, so now that I've taken care of my partner, I'm just imagining, like, a terrible parent that's like, oh, you're crying. Here, have a Tylenol.
That's.
But yeah, I had the potion in hand, so it makes sense. All right, so I will take a look at this other guy, and I will try to save Lou for more emotional damage as I look at him and devise a stratagem.
Yeah, I'll take a 10.
Fortunately, it tracks whether or not I've done the reload, so.
Oh, I haven't reloaded.
So I'm gonna just punch him with the hand that just had the potion in it.
Or.
Or if you will allow for the same thing, I'll hit him over the back of the head with the potion bottle. Yeah, no, sure, yeah, let's do the potion bottle. Just smack. There we go.
21 to hit.
[00:21:16] Speaker B: 21 will hit.
[00:21:19] Speaker G: And I.
Oh, okay. D4 is my unarmed attack, so that is six damage, but at least it's on something that does less damage.
[00:21:38] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:21:40] Speaker G: And for.
I got one more action that I will use to reload so that I can do something besides just punch people.
[00:21:49] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:21:50] Speaker G: Little mouse fists.
[00:21:53] Speaker B: Yeah. And that'll bring us to graveling.
[00:21:58] Speaker C: Okay, cool, cool, cool. I will say fun little thing. When. When Yuri healed me and Dusty let me roll, I did roll to heal back 20. So that was just kind of real nice.
I'm back. I basically healed back all that damage and shield block Is great.
So on a scale of bloodied to not, how does this not blood aids not. I didn't think so. I didn't think so. I need to like, really wail on him some more, but actively, that's the one that's the main threat in front of me right now. So I will.
So I'm like really debating it. I. I think I will trip them. I will try. Will attempt to trip. I'm a big snake. And also, I know this is not the case, but I do have Titan wrestler, so even if it was a bigger size, I would still be able to attempt it.
So that's what's. That's what's happening right now. I'll try to trip. Athletics versus reflex. D.C. right?
[00:23:09] Speaker B: Yep.
[00:23:10] Speaker C: I'll get it. I think I'll get it. That's a 19 on the die. So 30.
[00:23:19] Speaker B: 30. It is a success, but not a critical success.
[00:23:22] Speaker C: Nice, nice, nice graveling with her tail. Kind of just runs it up, up and around his leg and like just kind of fully pulls it out from underneath him. Maybe like slamming his body. Like he's lying on his tummy so his back is exposed and I am just gonna wail on him.
So a flurry of blows it. And I will attempt sounding strikes again.
They want me to kill someone.
I won't because my attacks are non lethal. But.
But they certainly. They certainly want me to kill someone. So just so that way I make sure I add my math right.
The first attack should be a dirty 20.
[00:24:22] Speaker B: 3020 will not hit.
[00:24:26] Speaker C: Dirty 20 won't hit. That's good.
[00:24:28] Speaker B: No, it will because they're prone. If they were not prone, they would.
[00:24:31] Speaker C: Yay.
[00:24:32] Speaker B: I could do math.
[00:24:33] Speaker D: Okay, cool.
[00:24:36] Speaker C: Natural 20 is my next hit.
[00:24:42] Speaker B: Yeah, that is going to be a crit. Your card is foot smash. Target is off guard until the end of its next turn.
[00:24:49] Speaker C: Okay, so the first damage die was kind of ass. That's six. I rolled like a one and a two, which sucks.
But my next one is very good.
It's double damage on the crit.
32.
[00:25:10] Speaker B: 32.
And then 6 would be 38.
They are still standing.
[00:25:19] Speaker C: Well, they're not standing.
[00:25:22] Speaker B: They're still conscious and alive. And.
[00:25:26] Speaker C: Yeah, why not like, like, like, like a wrestling move where they jump and they just elbow down. That's basically what you see happen before she gets back up kind of on the top rope.
[00:25:40] Speaker B: There you go. My wrestling knowledge.
[00:25:42] Speaker E: That's it.
[00:25:42] Speaker C: Yeah, yeah, that's what I was thinking of two. This was thinking of two, but I was thinking of like, like the Japanese ones. Cuz they do really fun moves. There's like, there's so. They're so entertaining to watch. I don't know what's going on, but like I'm having a good time.
[00:25:55] Speaker B: Exactly.
[00:25:57] Speaker C: And their costumes. I have one more action though. Yes, one more action.
My, my, my to hit is 10. So I'm just rolling flats basically.
However, 21 hits him. So. Yeah, unless I nat 20 it again. I will. I will not hit.
Could I, I don't know, roll some sort of check to see what else we. Like what? I don't know.
Yeah, yeah. I was blanking so fucking hard on the term. Thank you.
[00:26:36] Speaker B: Lou. Did really learn that they have no like weaknesses or resistances or anything like that. But you could learn other things as well. Like that's where we're save best or worst save.
[00:26:47] Speaker C: You can also give me lore about them. I don't mind that either. Just like more information. Because from the looks of it, the one guy that I knocked out might be our only guy.
[00:26:58] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:26:59] Speaker C: Just from face of all the murder recall knowledge. So that's my lore. I'm assuming I would be using. I have warfare lore.
[00:27:09] Speaker B: Warfare lore. Yeah, we can do warfare lore.
[00:27:11] Speaker C: Okay, 22.
[00:27:14] Speaker B: 22. Yeah, you can ask a question.
[00:27:20] Speaker C: It's not too. Is it too much to be like, why are they here?
Or maybe what are they doing here? Well, they're disrupting the ritual. But, you know, maybe more information.
[00:27:31] Speaker B: I will. I will say you don't see anything here that is a rich. That looks to be a ritual site.
[00:27:37] Speaker C: So then. Then why are they here?
[00:27:41] Speaker B: It's something like that is. I think that wouldn't be answered by that.
You can ask like anything, like, mechanically about them.
Yeah, Their worst save is their reflex.
And you do know that something like this, the collar itself is something that the holy blood has developed. And anything that's in there is probably any kind of holy blood. Specific mutagens, which are usually derived from monsters, monster blood, monster parts, things like that.
Yeah, that is their whole ethos of using the monsters to make themselves stronger.
And so then it'll be Leith's turn.
[00:28:31] Speaker D: I think that Leith, you know, it's not because it's Alouette over there. Leith is just feeling pretty bitter and vengeful towards the assassins. So she is going to run. Oh, is standing an action or is it like half your movement?
[00:28:51] Speaker B: Yeah, it's. It's one action to stand.
[00:28:54] Speaker F: Okay.
[00:28:55] Speaker D: She will stand from where she was next to Marigold.
Run over towards the assassin. That is I guess sort of standing above Lou at this point and stab them in the back.
Okay. That is a 29 to hit.
[00:29:17] Speaker B: 29 will be a crit.
[00:29:22] Speaker D: 26.
[00:29:23] Speaker B: Six more murder.
[00:29:29] Speaker F: Yeah.
[00:29:30] Speaker D: Let's go. Leith, not realizing that Lou is having a crisis of faith over murdering someone, stabs them through the back dagger. Just like going through like inches away from Lou's face. And the assassin collapses on the ground next to her.
And then there's Laith, looking actually better than she has been for a lot of this day.
[00:29:56] Speaker B: All blood stained and all of that.
[00:29:59] Speaker F: I said what I said.
[00:30:00] Speaker B: Yeah.
And yeah, we'll. We'll have the. It is the hunter's turn. And they'll just spend their first action to stand.
[00:30:12] Speaker E: Hiyaki. Hey, Aki. That's a move action.
[00:30:14] Speaker B: It's a move action. Mm.
[00:30:18] Speaker C: I'm gonna use my reaction to beat them.
[00:30:23] Speaker B: Yeah, bro.
[00:30:25] Speaker C: 29.
[00:30:26] Speaker B: 29 will hit.
[00:30:29] Speaker C: 15.
[00:30:30] Speaker B: 15. They're still standing.
[00:30:35] Speaker C: I need to record how much damage I've done over time to this guy. Just so I basically see how beady he is.
[00:30:40] Speaker B: Yep. And we'll take two claw attacks at you.
First one is a 22 that hits or 10 damage. And then the second one will be a 24 for seven damage.
And Yuri, it is now your turn.
[00:31:07] Speaker E: I'm going to use my first action to.
While this guy has been fighting. You see, Yuri turns their attention to them as you're muttering under their breath and they are drawing with blood in the air. And I'm gonna you try to use blood Curse of the marked on this. Something I've only done once this whole campaign and it was against a golem, so it didn't do.
I'm using new dice, so hopefully they trust me.
Oh wait, never mind. I don't roll. You roll. It's a fort.
[00:31:42] Speaker B: Save or save.
Unfortunately that's a 31 for ya.
[00:31:48] Speaker E: Well, they're unaffected for an hour.
[00:31:51] Speaker B: Unfortunately, Fortitude is their best save.
[00:31:54] Speaker E: Ah, should have asked for their best save.
Then I will have to step up just Cuz I can. I'll just go over the other side of them.
[00:32:06] Speaker B: All right.
[00:32:08] Speaker E: And then swing at them with this. This Flaming Sox.
Let's go. It's not an Act 20, but it is a 25.
[00:32:19] Speaker B: 25 will hit.
[00:32:21] Speaker E: That is going to be 18 slashing.
[00:32:25] Speaker B: How do you murder this hunter?
[00:32:30] Speaker E: Yuri sees that spell like fizzles basically and curses loudly and is going to kind of like.
Like slide around Grave wing like because they're so.
You know, the dragon form is sick. So they're Gonna slide around, make sure they don't know this. And come around with the surround, go where the collar is and just pull it back.
And that's winter.
[00:33:02] Speaker B: Yeah.
And we'll come to our new friend. They are.
Yeah. We'll spend another action.
They spend an action to stand up. So they're standing, they're looking around and they are going to see that the, the. The priest is one of the few ones left. So they're going to spend an action to move and then an action to cast ignite.
And that hits for damage.
Not a lot, but, you know, still, still like a good like 9 damage.
And n.
[00:33:48] Speaker H: I would like to commit killing, please. Thank you.
I don't want to move because I'm a cute little guy and it's my birthday. So we're hitting the needle darts again. Hopefully we're hitting the needle darts this time.
That's a Nat 20. Thank you. I just had to beg like a pathetic man. And apparently I can do anything.
So what is, what's the critical hit that I got?
[00:34:17] Speaker B: Well, now you see me, you become invisible until the end of your next turn or you use a hostile action.
[00:34:25] Speaker H: All right, so it's normal damage and then that. So it is.
[00:34:29] Speaker B: It's double damage.
[00:34:30] Speaker H: Oh, it's double damage too. Okay.
[00:34:32] Speaker B: It's only normal damage on a card if it says normal damage.
[00:34:35] Speaker H: Okay, I'm just gonna roll the damage and then double it.
[00:34:37] Speaker B: Let's go.
[00:34:39] Speaker H: That is 13 doubled, which is 26, I believe.
[00:34:42] Speaker B: Yeah.
More murder. Yes.
[00:34:50] Speaker H: Is it free? Actually just gives him a high five. Just comes like a little hand comes out of the mouth and she's like.
[00:34:55] Speaker B: Yeah, yeah, you can.
Yeah. Now as the, you know, the priest is riddled with these needle darts. They collapse the ground, bleeding out.
And combat ends as you all stand and, you know, sort of like are looking around and see this strange person.
[00:35:19] Speaker F: Lou is still absolutely sitting on a puddle on the floor, sitting in about.
[00:35:24] Speaker B: A foot of water a little bit.
[00:35:28] Speaker F: Plot can happen to everybody else.
[00:35:30] Speaker G: There, there.
[00:35:32] Speaker D: Laith kicks aside the assassin body, like utterly careless about its humanity, and reaches a hand andalo right.
[00:35:42] Speaker F: And will very tentatively take the. The offered hand and then just say it was an accident. I didn't know. I didn't know it was going to aim there. I. I thought it was going to like glance off at their shoulder. I didn't mean to kill them.
[00:36:01] Speaker D: They were trying to kill us. They were doing something to hurt the Cassie, hurt the lake, hurt the unions.
[00:36:10] Speaker F: Just the people and, and I mean our lamplighters and Holy blood. Here I am. I am so dead.
[00:36:22] Speaker E: I'm going.
[00:36:23] Speaker D: Great.
[00:36:23] Speaker F: Moat.
[00:36:26] Speaker D: Is not sure how to respond to this sort of panic and looks a little like shoots a concerned glance towards Yuri like hey, please emotionally support your cousin here.
[00:36:39] Speaker E: He's going to douse the flame on their thing. Look at the knocked out ones. Like we should tight them up, ask questions. We have a new friend. We'll talk later.
Hey, glad you're alive. I think no offense don't know you and well taken.
[00:37:00] Speaker B: I'm not aware of who any of you are either.
[00:37:03] Speaker E: Yeah, but you know, these are obviously fuckups.
One second. I'm going to go talk to Lou and let other people talk.
[00:37:13] Speaker G: Call them.
[00:37:14] Speaker B: Buck ups.
[00:37:15] Speaker G: I'm the best mouse detective in the land.
[00:37:19] Speaker C: Yes, he sent us.
[00:37:22] Speaker B: Oh, I'm glad that she got my message out.
[00:37:28] Speaker H: What happened here?
[00:37:30] Speaker B: Hi, I'm.
You can call me Marigold.
[00:37:36] Speaker C: Well, Marigold, I'm gravewing.
What the fuck is going on?
[00:37:43] Speaker B: And they like kind of like pull their, the. The ripped up shirt like kind of closed as they're like looking at all of you and they just say well this is my home.
I know it doesn't look like a lot. You can kind of see around there is like.
Like a small little area where there is like a sleeping. Like a little cot and a small like area where one would make a fire and some books and things.
These strangers.
It's hard to say break in when I don't have a door. I, I spend most of my time around here making notes about the flora and fauna and studying the, the lake.
[00:38:34] Speaker C: And do you do the ritual stuff? Are you a part of that or.
[00:38:48] Speaker B: So there, there isn't actually a ritual.
That was a.
I asked Den room not to talk about me so he came up with a lie.
[00:39:05] Speaker C: And why shouldn't.
Why are you so important to be kept a secret?
[00:39:13] Speaker B: I mean it's more of I don't want people to know I'm here and they kind of like let the shirt like fall open and you kind of see as the skin is sort of continuing to knit itself back together is that there are a lot of people that want to, you know, study me and not in the fun just take some notes and some measurements and you know they mime cutting something that's rough.
[00:39:45] Speaker H: Funny.
[00:39:46] Speaker C: And what are you?
[00:39:48] Speaker B: I am what is colloquially known as a child of Titan's grave.
[00:39:56] Speaker D: Does this mean anything?
[00:39:58] Speaker B: If anybody wants to give me.
[00:40:00] Speaker H: Can you say society roll?
[00:40:03] Speaker G: I want to know what. How Alistair responds to this because I feel like I have Something to say about this?
[00:40:11] Speaker C: What? What is the rule to make if.
[00:40:14] Speaker B: You society.
[00:40:16] Speaker E: Like where the Titan steel that my weapon's made out of.
[00:40:23] Speaker B: Yes, it's some lovely material.
[00:40:29] Speaker E: Yeah, we found it in a man there.
[00:40:36] Speaker G: I did not want to get a 30.
I wanted to get a bad roll.
[00:40:44] Speaker B: Hello. Cool. The yes. In a short term these are androids, but these are it think of them closer to like alien androids rather than pathfinder androids. These are some weird kind of thing they some of you have heard stories is deep within side Titan's grave. Years ago, all of these strange sarcophagi were found and each contained a person.
There are 15. There were 15 of them in total.
And over the last 75 years or so since they were discovered, most of them are dead now.
There are maybe only a handful of them left.
They are these sort of synthetic humanoids that nobody really knows their purpose. Not even the children of the Titans grave know their purpose.
[00:41:55] Speaker C: By the stars. What are you doing here of all places?
[00:42:04] Speaker B: I wanted to find somewhere quiet and where I could study.
[00:42:12] Speaker E: Oh, this is definitely quiet.
Do you know how these people found out about you? Hiding?
[00:42:20] Speaker B: I. I don't. They said something about someone in in the city tipping them off to this, and I think it might have been the old dockmaster. He used to come and bring me supplies every so often.
[00:42:40] Speaker C: Well, he's dead now.
[00:42:42] Speaker B: He always seemed nice up until the.
[00:42:46] Speaker D: Point where he sold you out.
[00:42:48] Speaker B: Yeah, well, I've never been a great judge of character.
[00:42:53] Speaker D: No way of knowing now.
[00:42:55] Speaker E: Regardless, we think you need a new place to stay.
[00:42:59] Speaker D: Well, before that. If there's no ritual, then why is Kessie acting out?
We came down here to do a ritual.
[00:43:07] Speaker B: They're my friend and they knew something bad had happened to me, so they were trying to get help.
[00:43:14] Speaker D: So sweet.
[00:43:16] Speaker C: Not everybody speaks Kessie, Leith.
[00:43:22] Speaker D: You might want to talk to her about a better way to do that in the future.
[00:43:33] Speaker B: We'll work on it, I don't think.
[00:43:35] Speaker E: Guess he went to school.
Critical thinking.
[00:43:39] Speaker G: Maybe next time you get like, kidnapped.
[00:43:43] Speaker D: I mean, the new dockmaster is with us, right?
[00:43:46] Speaker B: Yeah, but Aster's just kind of back here just being like, the fuck's going on.
[00:43:52] Speaker D: I think that Leith sort of stomps over through the water and like, clasps them on the shoulder in a way that is aggressive and almost a slap, but has the sort of facade of, you know, a Kinley friendly, like, hey, you're here, and brings them forward and says, well, this is the new dockmaster, who I think will not be selling you out.
[00:44:18] Speaker B: Oh, I've seen how scary you all are.
[00:44:26] Speaker C: I'm gonna go get the unconscious guy and just shake him awake.
[00:44:38] Speaker B: Yeah, yeah. Say you know this. This person, and, like, as. As you. As you've done this, you can kind of see points where it almost looks like parts of them were stitched on.
There is an arm that has a scaled pattern on it.
And you shake them awake, and they look up at you, and they say stories about you are true.
[00:45:22] Speaker C: Peachy. You're gonna tell us exactly what we need to know. And I feel like you already know the questions, but to enlighten you, what are you doing here?
[00:45:35] Speaker B: Give me an intimidation check.
[00:45:40] Speaker C: Is my intimidation. I know. I'm trained in it. One second. Oh, it's sexy.
Dirty 20.
[00:45:48] Speaker B: Yeah.
So this.
This person just goes, if I don't tell you anything, you're gonna kill me. If I tell you, things are gonna kill me.
[00:46:05] Speaker C: I'll think about it.
[00:46:08] Speaker B: I think I'd rather take my chances with death here than reporting to Gorr that we failed.
[00:46:18] Speaker E: Who's Gorr?
[00:46:20] Speaker B: You would all know who Elias Gore is. The captain of the Holy Blood.
[00:46:25] Speaker E: Who's Gorr to you?
[00:46:28] Speaker B: My boss.
[00:46:30] Speaker E: Well, we could take you back if you'd like.
I'll tie you up.
[00:46:35] Speaker B: Give me an intimidation roll.
[00:46:38] Speaker E: Oh, yeah, let me roll that plus one.
[00:46:41] Speaker F: It would have to be with an unconventional rope because we have none of our usual inventory.
[00:46:51] Speaker E: Because I'm threatening them physically. Could I use, like, athletics or maybe just, like, strength?
[00:47:01] Speaker B: You could use strength.
[00:47:04] Speaker E: Turned out to a plus two at least.
[00:47:07] Speaker F: Can I assist them by demonstrating what the rope would have to be?
[00:47:16] Speaker E: Why don't I have intimidation?
I have legal.
[00:47:22] Speaker F: Unslide. Some guts. You can probably see it a lot better now because she's only in her underwear.
[00:47:28] Speaker E: Oh, that's terrifying. Well, my dice said you, Aubrey, politely. That's. I roll at 18 plus 2, so that's a 20.
[00:47:39] Speaker B: Got the information from the old dockmaster.
[00:47:42] Speaker E: Why?
[00:47:45] Speaker B: Got rumors of that thing. Points, Marigold. The opening rumor of them living down here and that they were child of the Titan's grave.
People pay good money.
[00:48:08] Speaker E: You could think about. Okay, what do you. What do you need? Grieving.
[00:48:14] Speaker C: Are you religious?
Do you worship?
[00:48:21] Speaker B: I say I do.
[00:48:26] Speaker C: Well, then may the mother protect you. And I break their neck.
[00:48:31] Speaker B: They're at. They're at 1 GP. They're going to roll. They're restrained.
[00:48:35] Speaker C: Yeah, I did it nice and quickly as opposed to the worst ways that could have gone.
And when graveling will just kind of let them Know, they would have been sitting graven will just kind of put them down from, like, holding them, perhaps by, like, the collar or something.
Stand up, look at the rest of the group and be like. They did say they'd rather die here and go back to Gordon.
[00:49:03] Speaker H: Guess so. Technically speaking.
[00:49:07] Speaker E: I'm sorry we made a mess of your home with all these bodies.
[00:49:12] Speaker B: It doesn't sound like it'll be my home for much longer.
They know I'm here. They'll. They'll come back.
[00:49:19] Speaker C: You can stay, probably with us.
[00:49:23] Speaker B: I mean.
[00:49:23] Speaker G: Yes, we have lots of.
Well, you know.
[00:49:29] Speaker C: Don't say that, Alice.
[00:49:30] Speaker D: Repeat.
[00:49:32] Speaker C: Don't, don't, don't. Great, Detective. Don't get too excited.
[00:49:35] Speaker E: We have places you'll be safe.
[00:49:38] Speaker B: Okay. Okay. Yeah.
Let me. Let me pack up my things. I guess I don't have a lot.
[00:49:47] Speaker G: Hey, Grieflink.
[00:49:49] Speaker C: Yes.
[00:49:50] Speaker G: They did say, like, questionnaires and like, just regular tests would be okay. Right?
[00:49:58] Speaker C: Listen, I. I think. I think if you have a conversation with Marigold and they're okay with it, then, yeah, just, you know, don't stab them with pens.
[00:50:16] Speaker G: No, I. I would never.
[00:50:18] Speaker C: I didn't think so, but I just thought.
I don't know how literal I have to be here.
No, I.
Nah, it's okay. I get what you mean. Ask your questions, but maybe not here.
[00:50:33] Speaker G: I. I can't even jokingly say because Alice here wouldn't say, but my own bid is like. I would never stab them with a pen. That's unsanitary. It would destroy the sample.
[00:50:50] Speaker E: I. I think during this. Yuri to lose. Just like. Let's get out of here.
[00:50:56] Speaker B: We.
[00:50:56] Speaker E: We should, you know, have some tea or something and have a chat.
[00:51:06] Speaker H: Astro, why don't you go on ahead.
[00:51:07] Speaker B: For a little bit?
Okay, yeah, I'll go. Go on ahead.
Seem a little reluctant because.
[00:51:18] Speaker E: Why are you going?
[00:51:19] Speaker B: They. They can't defend themselves and you're sending them back out into the lake.
[00:51:23] Speaker E: Why are you sending them out ahead?
[00:51:25] Speaker H: I look at. I look at Yuri, and then I look at the dead body on the floor, and I look at Yuri again.
[00:51:30] Speaker C: Aster, just go help Marigold pack, okay?
[00:51:33] Speaker B: Okay.
[00:51:35] Speaker F: Is Nile still invisible?
[00:51:36] Speaker B: Though? Technically, at the end, we'll be invisible for six seconds.
[00:51:40] Speaker E: Okay, I'm going to look very directly ad n like, these peoples are all of their blood up.
[00:51:50] Speaker B: None of it smells great. These are all people who have willingly experimented on themselves.
[00:51:55] Speaker C: What about. What about the lamp lighters?
[00:51:58] Speaker B: Even them looking at.
[00:52:03] Speaker E: I'm looking directly, and I was like, I didn't think your friend Would very much enjoy this.
I don't know how much you could smell, but it's terrible. My understanding that's probably bad for anything.
Let's stay our garbage disposal. Quite literally.
[00:52:22] Speaker H: I mean this as nicely as I can, but all of my bones are currently being consumed from the inside out. At this point, I'll take almost anything.
[00:52:29] Speaker C: Eat one of them and see if you shit your pants.
[00:52:34] Speaker H: I'm gonna say this because I'm like, pick the one that seems the least gross. I guess that you would not mind eating. It's the best we got right now. No, we can't eat Aster.
[00:52:46] Speaker C: Can you eat them in the water away from us?
[00:52:51] Speaker H: I guess.
I guess the tongue shoots out of the middle belly and just latches onto it and slowly starts dragging it into the water.
[00:52:59] Speaker C: What the hell?
[00:53:04] Speaker B: Yeah. Give me a fortitude save.
[00:53:06] Speaker H: Is this against disease or poison?
[00:53:09] Speaker B: Yeah, I guess this would consider a poison.
[00:53:13] Speaker H: Okay, I get a plus two. One from my potion and one from my weird anatomy. So let's roll with that.
Oh, this is 17. And I think I use all my hero points. I guess I have to take that.
[00:53:25] Speaker B: L. Yeah, you become second one.
[00:53:32] Speaker H: Melody looks kind of sick and is like.
[00:53:36] Speaker E: It's.
[00:53:37] Speaker H: It's like eating a week old. A week old meal that was left on the floor. It's edible, but barely.
And I throw. Can I throw up like an arm or something for comedic effect and also get rid of the sickness?
[00:53:53] Speaker B: It'll take a bit.
[00:53:54] Speaker H: Okay. Did you see an arm belch out like one of the creepy scaly arms? Like the mouse stomach just kind of belches it out into the water with blood coming out. I'm just like, ugh.
[00:54:06] Speaker D: While people are being consumed, can I go through the things, especially the assassins, see if they have any extra poisons or like letters being like, oh, these are the next stages of our evil plan.
[00:54:23] Speaker B: All of their poisons came from their blood.
[00:54:27] Speaker F: Gross.
[00:54:28] Speaker B: Because they'd been grafted with something that has venom in his blood.
[00:54:35] Speaker E: Oh, worm. Same hint.
[00:54:37] Speaker D: I will take a sample of blood. Would that stay as a place? And I have the bottle from.
[00:54:45] Speaker B: It's possible. Yeah, it's possible. You could. There's plenty of blood around.
[00:54:49] Speaker G: Wait, is that my health potion? Because we smacked a guy with that.
[00:54:53] Speaker D: No, the one that Graveling gave me.
[00:54:56] Speaker G: Okay.
I will assist with the looting the bodies mostly so that I have an excuse to ask, like these graphs or whatever. Like magical augmentations.
How do you say Socially acceptable. Are they in this culture?
[00:55:19] Speaker B: So members of the Holy Blood are expected.
They. There's a reason like you. You don't start seeing these graphs until you're taking off their armor and clothes. They're always usually hidden under clothes.
But people know that the Holy Blood. It's common knowledge that the Holy Blood augment themselves with things they get from their kills to help make themselves stronger. The whole idea is that they're doing this for everyone's benefit so they can be better prepared to fight off whatever comes their way to protect the city.
[00:56:00] Speaker G: So it's weird, but it's not, like.
[00:56:02] Speaker B: Taboo, like, especially if they're members of the Holy Blood. Yeah. And it's weird because you've probably never seen anything like this. And it's.
You've seen a little bit of the stuff for it because it's in Talus's book, but because he's the one that developed these techniques.
But yeah. I will give you a full breakdown of everything that you do get from everybody.
The in the chat at a later time. A decent amount of money, a lot of throwing knives, three kukris, the giant mall, a couple of staves from the. The thing, the.
The collar of the shifting spider that the.
The hunter used, and a few other things.
So takes a little bit, but Aster and Marigold are able to get the. The small amount of things that Marigold wants to take with them packed up and ready to go.
And they'll return to all of you and just say, are we ready to leave?
[00:57:24] Speaker H: Yeah.
[00:57:26] Speaker C: Can you swim?
[00:57:28] Speaker B: Yes. Yes, I can.
[00:57:30] Speaker C: Can you hold your breath?
[00:57:32] Speaker B: I actually don't need to breathe.
[00:57:35] Speaker C: Nice.
[00:57:36] Speaker G: Should we, like, burn the bodies or something before we leave?
[00:57:39] Speaker C: We should, yes. I don't want to leave anything behind, especially anything that becomes more drowned.
[00:57:47] Speaker H: I raise my hand.
Graveling.
[00:57:51] Speaker C: Yes.
[00:57:52] Speaker H: Is this a type of poison? If you burn it, it becomes airborne?
[00:57:56] Speaker C: I wouldn't know.
[00:57:58] Speaker E: Probably not.
[00:57:59] Speaker C: But if it does become airborne, I can push it into one place so we can all dive in.
[00:58:04] Speaker G: Also, if it does become airborne, it'll be in this cave. I gesture around that we're about to leave and that some very bad people that were hurting our new friend might want to come back to.
Okay.
[00:58:22] Speaker H: I just wanted to make sure we had an evac plan before we started burning potential hazards and mature doesn't spread.
[00:58:28] Speaker F: To the water supply.
[00:58:30] Speaker E: Yeah, I mean, if it's from the blood, from experience, it should be fine.
From experience, you've seen me light my axe on fire at least a dozen times.
[00:58:45] Speaker B: That's better.
So, yeah, you can kind of create like a bit of a pyre for all of these bodies, toss them all on, light the flame and leave. You all head back down into the water, heading out.
Having, for the most part, completed this little story arc and you all get to level five and had to do.
[00:59:13] Speaker F: Some murder for it.
[00:59:16] Speaker B: And next time, we'll figure out the what happens next with your new friend Marigold and finish up this week so you can move on to your next rebellion phase.
[00:59:27] Speaker H: I have every disease now.
[00:59:30] Speaker G: Maybe get Lou some therapy.
[00:59:32] Speaker E: Well, that's what Yuri's for, I think.
[00:59:35] Speaker F: Oh, no, she's in trouble.
[00:59:38] Speaker H: Come on, let's talk about how murder is actually okay when they're caught and.
[00:59:43] Speaker D: We hit level five without Leith drinking blood. So I will be keeping my minus one column.
[00:59:48] Speaker F: No, I just needed one more week. Dang it. I have to do research first.
I don't know this off the top of my head.
Dang it.
