[00:00:00] Speaker A: Sam. Waking up dreaming dark so long I cannot find meaning hold my hand, let me stay by your side through this never ending night I can feel it now it holds me all the these demons always roam me in this red light because me he is reaching out consuming. [00:01:31] Speaker B: Everybody. Welcome back to Gays. I'm Ari Ugian. I'll test from my players, introduce themselves, who they are, who their playing and then we'll get rolling into things. [00:01:39] Speaker C: Hi, I'm Aki and I play the vigilante graveling who is a Nagaji self monk and kineticist. We both use she her pronouns. [00:01:51] Speaker D: Hello, I am Faris, she her and I play Alouette Valer. Also she her a bardic thaumaturge beast kin doing her best while juggling a family curse, falling in love and of. [00:02:01] Speaker E: Course the end of the world. [00:02:04] Speaker F: Hello, I'm Dusty. I use they he pronouns. Name playing Euro formally Moran still a problem, just angrier now. They are a blood hunter nephilim problem just, just trying to fix things even though it's all bad. They also use they he pronouns. [00:02:30] Speaker G: Hello, I'm Sparlock and I play Alistair Whiskerfield, the great rat detective, arcane archer and wizard extraordinaire, the revolutionary firebrand, sworn enemy to the Scriabins and scourge of the bourgeoisie and master of Nicodemus Tower. We both use he him pronouns. [00:02:52] Speaker H: Hi, I'm Tick. I use he, she, they pronouns. And today I'll be playing Niall, who uses he they pronouns. He cooks, he cleans, he eats people and has an alien parasite living in his spine, slowly consuming him. What more could you ask for? [00:03:05] Speaker I: Hi, I'm Alyssa. My pronouns are they, them and I play Laith Idrisi, the fourth Dampier dandy rogue, failed matricide with a negative one constitution modifier. Leith uses she any pronouns. [00:03:19] Speaker B: So what happened last time? [00:03:21] Speaker H: Well, I know what happened near the end last time, fucker. But last time we had our vote on what to do with Clover. I keep thinking of Coral. That's completely unrelated. Her name is not Coral. Maybe Aubrey will introduce an NPC named Coral and I'll call her Clover every time. Who knows? We decided what to do with Clover. We killed her painlessly. We had a funeral for her and we went off to do several little important tasks. We interrogated. We didn't interrogate, we disguised. Some of us disguised ourselves as Clover and we went over to Alice's house and like, hey, so about that stuff. And she was like, yeah, here's a written confession of my sins as Collateral. And we're like, thumbs up. [00:03:58] Speaker C: Yay. [00:03:58] Speaker H: Our diplomacy succeeds. [00:04:00] Speaker B: Did. [00:04:03] Speaker H: Juniper was talking to Alouette about how she definitely totally doesn't have a crush on a guy, which, honestly, good for her. He seems very sweet, very demure, very mindful. And again, very nice funeral that was held. And then I think Aubrey just put a bullet in the woman's head that we were just talking to 15 seconds ago. So, yeah, we should probably check that out really quickly, hypothetically. [00:04:28] Speaker B: Yeah. For a moment, I thought about starting the session with anybody else, but, you know, we'll. We'll pick up directly where we left off. With the three of you hearing the sound of a gunshot. [00:04:41] Speaker F: Yeah. [00:04:41] Speaker G: I don't want to have to follow that funeral scene from last week, so. [00:04:49] Speaker F: Well, that's a great question. How to react to. [00:04:57] Speaker C: That. [00:04:59] Speaker G: I vote we run straight towards it. [00:05:02] Speaker F: That's a terrible idea. Out of character, however, but, like, Yuri doesn't have that many feelings about Auntie Alice. At the same time, though, Yuri's gonna look at clover lathe for just, like, a quick temp check, and I honestly. I think we should just. I don't even think we should dip. I think we should just wait to see what happens. [00:05:41] Speaker I: Agreed. [00:05:41] Speaker F: Not confront it. I don't want. I don't think we should confront it. My. [00:05:46] Speaker I: Agreed. [00:05:47] Speaker F: Yuri. Yuri's feeling feelings, but they've dealt with their consequences recently. So I think we're just going to stay put and see who leaves, who comes in, what. [00:06:05] Speaker B: It's maybe 10 minutes after that, you watch as the front door opens. Elias Gor and the figure formerly known as Laith, the Dreesi exit, and they walk away. [00:06:23] Speaker G: Should I follow them as a rat? [00:06:27] Speaker F: No. [00:06:28] Speaker B: Okay. [00:06:30] Speaker F: That's. No. They. They're. They're gonna be. Both of them are gonna be pinging anything to look. Do we go back into the house? [00:06:44] Speaker I: Yeah. Le wants to head back into the house. [00:06:47] Speaker G: Absolutely. [00:06:49] Speaker F: Let's wait, like, two minutes for them to get out of sight completely, and then we should go in again. [00:06:56] Speaker B: The door is not locked. You can push it open, and you notice the. You notice the body first bloody form of Alice in the center of the room, shot to the chest. Sort of left there to bleed out. The one thing that you all immediately notice is the fire certainly seems to be bigger now. Fire in the fireplace seems to have been stoked and healthy and certainly seems to be very hearty. [00:07:47] Speaker F: Could I go to the fireplace and just try to like, scoop out whatever's on top and stamp it out? [00:07:57] Speaker B: It looks like there were a bunch of papers that were thrown, thrown in here. [00:08:01] Speaker F: And they're all, they're all ashen at this point. [00:08:03] Speaker B: Yeah, they pretty much, they went up pretty quick. [00:08:09] Speaker F: Is there any obvious spot where the papers would have been taken out from? [00:08:14] Speaker B: Oh, you can immediately look over and see that the desk is almost clear. [00:08:19] Speaker F: Okay, so it was just all of, it's like all of the legal stuff about Salvation Row, isn't it? [00:08:29] Speaker B: Like ds. [00:08:30] Speaker F: Yeah, like so now that belongs to the Holy Blood slash. [00:08:42] Speaker B: Certainly. Stan. Nothing stands in the way of whatever Johnny might have planned. [00:08:47] Speaker G: Except we literally have a copy of their plans. [00:08:51] Speaker B: You have a copy of a confession. You have a copy of Alice's confession. Alice didn't truly know like the plants, but she confessed to her part in the plants of what she was aware of. [00:09:10] Speaker F: Yeah. [00:09:12] Speaker B: Because you never want one person to know everything about your plans. [00:09:17] Speaker F: Well, that's getting rid of any legal way to stop Johnny from doing what he wants with Row. [00:09:28] Speaker I: Sorry. Is her body still here? [00:09:31] Speaker B: Yes. [00:09:33] Speaker I: Well, and should we look around for anything they missed or just grab their body and go? [00:09:42] Speaker F: I don't think we want to stay here long. Who knows what they will do with a dead body if anyone comes back for it. [00:09:52] Speaker I: I mean, I think we have a pretty good idea. We just saw it leave. [00:09:57] Speaker F: Yeah, no, I think we should, we should, I don't know, see if there's. [00:10:02] Speaker C: Any. [00:10:04] Speaker F: Thing that we could hide their body and easily and get the out of here. I, I while trying to get stuff, any, anything that's left on their desk in the drawers that's not paper or whatever. I want to like scoop into a bag and figure it out later. [00:10:26] Speaker B: Yeah. Who's going to look at the body itself? [00:10:30] Speaker I: I mean I got some medicine so I could go look at it. [00:10:36] Speaker G: So that is a 19 to assist. [00:10:41] Speaker I: That is a dirty 20 plus the one I get from help. So 21. [00:10:49] Speaker B: A 21. So you sort of turn her over to get like a full look at her. Easily. Notice the gunshot in the chest? Sort of. The other thing you notice is there are it looks like she was also choked. But the, the patterns seem to match the hands of what used to be your mother. And there's sort of this graying skin, like almost that her vitality was drained. [00:11:31] Speaker I: Oh, lovely. It seems that my dear mother might need to literally drain people's lives now to keep going. [00:11:43] Speaker G: Could I do a check on what sort of thing could cause that? We have eld, Undead, Arcana. Or religion or Occultism. [00:11:57] Speaker I: Either. [00:11:58] Speaker B: Neither religion or occultism. [00:12:02] Speaker G: I'm supposed to do that. Privately. Oh, well, that's a 33. [00:12:07] Speaker B: 33. I mean, it's. There could be a lot of things. You know, there are vampire dumpier things like that that train life in a way, but this certainly seems different from that. This seems a corrupting force. Like, if Alice hadn't died when she did, there might have been some necrosis around the area. It is almost like whatever this was was causing her body to rot. [00:12:52] Speaker F: Her mother's a menace. [00:12:56] Speaker I: I've been saying that for years. [00:12:57] Speaker F: Yeah, and I've been agreeing with you for years. This is just a little beyond that. Okay, We. We should have people look at this. Maybe Juni or someone else could gather more info. I say I grabbed everything in the bag and just. Should I carry it? Do you want to carry it? Should we still look like this before we leave? [00:13:26] Speaker G: Yes, we should definitely still look like this. Oh, my goodness. We should not change out of our costumes while leaving a murder scene. Are you kidding? [00:13:37] Speaker B: Especially while carrying a dead body. [00:13:40] Speaker F: I just meant to, like, not be specifically the, like, the. Not Euro Most Wanted. But that's fine. They don't care about, like, dealing with us right now because everyone's scared of us. Okay. [00:13:57] Speaker G: I can always rat it up and escape, but I'd like to just take a look around, see if there's any, like, safe or, like, little hiding places. Because someone that's having those sorts of dealings probably has a backup plan of some sort. [00:14:24] Speaker B: Yeah. Give me a perception check. [00:14:28] Speaker G: That's a 32. [00:14:32] Speaker B: It takes you a minute. Takes you several minutes. But you do find a small lock box. Nice. [00:14:41] Speaker G: Like, portable. Able to take it with us. [00:14:45] Speaker B: Yeah, it's. It's probably about the. The size of a very thick dictionary. Great. [00:14:51] Speaker F: Throw it in the bag. [00:14:53] Speaker G: Yeah, throw it in the bag. Let's get out of here. [00:14:58] Speaker F: Going to run back with a dead body and a bag, Aubrey. [00:15:03] Speaker B: All the way back to Starlight Bastion. [00:15:06] Speaker F: Where. That's a quick question. Where are we going? [00:15:09] Speaker B: Yeah, that's a great question. You might want to figure that out before you travel with a body. You could. Dark Light is closer. So you could get it to the shop where Junie is. [00:15:23] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:15:24] Speaker F: Yeah, I think that may be the best. Juni may be able to help. [00:15:27] Speaker D: Anyways. [00:15:31] Speaker B: You know what? This is. This is a really great time for two groups to converge. [00:15:40] Speaker G: So prepare to roll initiative. [00:15:43] Speaker F: No. No, not. [00:15:47] Speaker D: So. [00:15:51] Speaker B: Lou. You're walking back to Northstar with Juniper, chatting about books, when I. I have to ask this. Are you still in disguise? [00:16:08] Speaker F: I think maybe by the time we get to Dark Light. Should we take the disguises off? [00:16:15] Speaker I: Yeah, I think so. [00:16:16] Speaker D: Don't you still have a body? [00:16:18] Speaker I: Well. Oh, did we not find anything to put it in? [00:16:21] Speaker E: Okay. [00:16:22] Speaker B: No. [00:16:22] Speaker E: Then we can stay. [00:16:23] Speaker B: You could have, like, wrapped it up in sheets or something. But it's still. Yeah, it always looks like a body. [00:16:30] Speaker F: I just. Everyone is looking out for Clover. No, actually, no one knows. Never mind. Yeah, no, we're still in disguises. Yeah. So they see Clover, a man and a shorter man. [00:16:42] Speaker G: That's a shorter man that looks uncomfortable in his own skin. Don't forget. [00:16:49] Speaker B: All carrying a large raptor form, headed toward the shop. [00:16:56] Speaker E: Lou has no idea what's going on because this is not the disguises. She thought they were going in when they left, and all she knows is, yeah, our enemies come back from the dead all the time. This is not out of the realm of possibility. So she's gonna draw her cards and, like, get in front of Juniper and prepare, I guess, to fight. [00:17:20] Speaker D: Question mark. [00:17:23] Speaker E: Presumably, this is a revenge plot. [00:17:25] Speaker H: I don't know. [00:17:27] Speaker F: Is the shop open right now? Or is there anyone in the shop? Is. [00:17:30] Speaker B: Rook, there's in the shop. [00:17:34] Speaker F: I think. I think our. I think we're. I. At least Yuri, who's probably the one carrying the body. Let's be real. Is too distracted just trying to get inside the shop and will not see Lou. [00:17:46] Speaker G: Just pause for a second. Is this our shop? [00:17:51] Speaker F: Yes, it's. [00:17:52] Speaker E: Well, it's Grave Ring family members shop. [00:17:56] Speaker C: Yeah, I live here. [00:17:57] Speaker G: Okay. I think we would. I think we would have the thought to, like, find a big container to stash the body in before going into our shop. [00:18:11] Speaker F: I don't know if we have time for that, my friend. [00:18:13] Speaker B: The thing is, that is going to require time. [00:18:17] Speaker F: Like, where are we going to find that? In the market. We were going to enter a market with a dead body, but you have. [00:18:23] Speaker B: To enter the market to get these shops. [00:18:28] Speaker F: No, I think Yuri's just like a random. [00:18:32] Speaker G: A random trash can. [00:18:35] Speaker F: Like, someone's trash can. [00:18:41] Speaker E: If you're trying to get in the building, I'm gonna throw a card at you. [00:18:44] Speaker D: Sorry. [00:18:46] Speaker F: That's fine. You throw a card at Yuri, it's fine. [00:18:49] Speaker E: I can only assume this is a. Like a revenge plot and they're going after Grave Wing's family. This just looks bad. [00:18:57] Speaker G: Where literally wanted people walking into our hideout while carrying a body. [00:19:05] Speaker B: You're not actually wanted. Yeah, you're all in disguise. [00:19:09] Speaker F: Yeah. [00:19:14] Speaker B: Who I am and strangers. Clever. Technically, yes, as part of the Bloody Blades, but not really at the same time. There's not like a specific thing out for David. [00:19:25] Speaker F: You're the most. You're the most like the stressful person here. David Cumberbatch. [00:19:31] Speaker G: We were just seeing scene leaving the scene of a murder with a body. And we're walking into our hideout with the body. Okay. I'm for the ride. I. I have stated my objections. Do this. [00:19:49] Speaker F: Wait, why are you hitting Clover? You're not hitting the person carrying the body. [00:19:52] Speaker D: I'm hitting. [00:19:53] Speaker E: Well, Clover's the only one I recognize. Maybe whoever's in front, whoever's closest to the door. [00:20:00] Speaker F: I think it would be Yuri because they're trying to get in there fast. [00:20:03] Speaker B: Then. [00:20:04] Speaker E: Then 28 to hit Yuri. [00:20:06] Speaker F: Yeah. [00:20:11] Speaker E: It's supposed to be a warning attack. At least it's not like, going to be lethal. I rolled once. [00:20:16] Speaker F: The. [00:20:17] Speaker E: At least the cards understand that that is only a 8 damage. [00:20:25] Speaker F: I think the card sticks into my shoulder. It's like looking distressed looking at the door. [00:20:40] Speaker D: Get away. I don't actually have the authority to. [00:20:45] Speaker E: Deny your business, but I think I'm going to deny your business based on. [00:20:47] Speaker D: The fact that you are carrying. [00:20:48] Speaker A: Of course. [00:20:52] Speaker F: It'S us. [00:20:57] Speaker B: Yes. [00:20:58] Speaker F: I'm gonna open the door. [00:21:00] Speaker E: I'm gonna, like, gesture at clover quotation marks. [00:21:05] Speaker D: What are you doing? [00:21:08] Speaker E: Leave. [00:21:09] Speaker D: Will. [00:21:11] Speaker I: Yeah. Say just. We needed a disguise to talk to Senator Moran. [00:21:21] Speaker D: I think this is perhaps in very poor taste, but. [00:21:26] Speaker E: Will go inside. [00:21:31] Speaker I: She will. And I think as she passes you, she'll just be like, that was a good throw. [00:21:39] Speaker D: Thank you. [00:21:42] Speaker F: Just take eight damage. Thank you. [00:21:46] Speaker E: Hands you the flask as I follow you in. [00:21:51] Speaker B: Chamber is the last one. And you know, as this happens, closes the door, flips the sign, pulls the blinds down. [00:22:02] Speaker E: I am so sorry. [00:22:04] Speaker D: I don't know what is happening. [00:22:08] Speaker F: I'm going to break the disguise as soon as we're in. Rip the card from my shoulder. [00:22:15] Speaker D: I'll just summon that back to me. [00:22:18] Speaker F: Good throw. [00:22:20] Speaker D: Truly sorry. [00:22:23] Speaker F: No, no, that's. That's an appropriate response. [00:22:27] Speaker D: I. I thought you are. I thought it was. I thought it was like you're going after our grave wings family. And that would have been bad. [00:22:36] Speaker F: I. Great instincts. I'm going to look to Juniper. Is there a place where I could put a body down? I wanted someone to look at it. This is Auntie Alice. It wasn't us. No. [00:22:58] Speaker A: He could. [00:22:59] Speaker F: Elias killed them. [00:23:03] Speaker C: Why? [00:23:07] Speaker F: Well, let me put this body down first. [00:23:13] Speaker B: Rook and Juniper are like, clearing off like a table in the back. [00:23:19] Speaker D: I presume that Tristan didn't go back. [00:23:24] Speaker E: Because he's like a wanted figure. [00:23:27] Speaker G: Right. [00:23:27] Speaker B: Yeah. Okay. [00:23:28] Speaker D: Just checking. [00:23:30] Speaker B: He is currently sticking with his wife and as they continue to cleanse the indoctrination. [00:23:38] Speaker I: Okay. [00:23:39] Speaker D: Okay. I'm like. I. I didn't think he went back, but I also have no. [00:23:43] Speaker H: No idea where he is. [00:23:44] Speaker B: Otherwise not at the shop currently. [00:23:46] Speaker D: Okay. [00:23:49] Speaker F: Yeah. I'm going to put them down and just. Okay. Well, we went in to try to extort Alice. They rushed us out. So we got a confession at the minimum. And we were going to confront them after this meeting they were going to have. The meeting was with Elias. Score. [00:24:12] Speaker A: And. [00:24:14] Speaker F: I'm going to motion to lathe their mother. They're only in there for five. [00:24:24] Speaker D: Sorry. Keep going. [00:24:26] Speaker F: No, we did not stay in there. As I. I can only assume they would have seen right through the disguises. I've been stupid enough in the past month, so. [00:24:41] Speaker D: And so you did not confront them in any way. You are. You're all okay. All three of you are okay? [00:24:50] Speaker F: As physically, as mostly as much as we could be. We didn't confront them. I think we agreed it would be a bad decision. [00:25:02] Speaker C: Okay. [00:25:04] Speaker D: So they have. They have killed the senator that was in. In their pocket. It sounds like it. You got a confession, so that sounds like she was in their pocket. And so they killed her. Why? [00:25:17] Speaker F: Well, they also burned all of the legal documents. I assume that would keep anyone from taking the row by legal means that doesn't exist anymore. [00:25:33] Speaker D: Well, there's always copies. Never would just have one copy of something like that. [00:25:39] Speaker F: Allegedly. I. [00:25:43] Speaker D: That's a thing always our own bureaucracy. If it is. [00:25:49] Speaker F: I don't know how much bureaucracy was being run. [00:25:54] Speaker E: And. [00:25:56] Speaker D: More things. That should be our medid. Yeah. [00:26:01] Speaker F: We were in there for five minutes. We heard a gunshot. We watched him leave. We entered. Alice was dead. [00:26:16] Speaker G: Yeah. [00:26:17] Speaker F: We. We came to the closest hideout. [00:26:24] Speaker D: I feel like maybe this would have been better to take to like say the abandoned house that nobody goes to instead of while Gray Boing's family frequently lives. And also Juniper and also Rook or are trying to hide. But. But I understand. In a high tense moment we make decisions we are not sure about. But we do in the future know a basement that people do not go into or come out of. [00:27:04] Speaker F: Yeah, I just didn't. [00:27:06] Speaker B: That. [00:27:06] Speaker F: I think that was. I feel like it would be a bit further and I didn't want to run that far with a body. [00:27:14] Speaker D: Your center geography is terrible. [00:27:15] Speaker C: I know. [00:27:17] Speaker B: Yes. [00:27:21] Speaker I: Okay. [00:27:23] Speaker D: What do we do with her? What we. I assume we brought the body with us so that she would not spontaneously resurrect life. [00:27:37] Speaker E: Right. [00:27:37] Speaker D: Yeah, considering that problem we have. [00:27:41] Speaker F: Yes, Lady Idrisi was there, who seemed to be literally draining the life out of Alice. Is that what it looked like Turning to lace? [00:27:58] Speaker I: As far as I can tell, yeah. [00:28:01] Speaker G: Looked like some necrophasciitis magicus. [00:28:11] Speaker F: Necro fascism. Yeah. [00:28:16] Speaker D: Very troubling. [00:28:21] Speaker G: That's the Red Wizards, isn't it? [00:28:24] Speaker E: Yeah. [00:28:29] Speaker G: We also got this lockdown box and I will pull out the lockbox that I had absconded with. [00:28:39] Speaker C: Oh. [00:28:41] Speaker D: Which is good. [00:28:42] Speaker G: Hopefully it has some clues and we have what she knew of their plan. [00:28:52] Speaker D: That is also good. And okay, that is, I suppose the first thing to do is to burn the body. Yeah. [00:29:09] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:29:09] Speaker F: I mean now that we're here, we could. We could find like something to put her in while we're not running and discreetly go take it somewhere else. [00:29:20] Speaker D: Yes, I. I think but it probably a good idea and perhaps with a distraction that shows the same people taking something corpse like out of here or staging a break in or. I don't know how to make this look like we're uninvolved here. [00:29:45] Speaker F: I mean, as far as everyone else knows, Clover goes here a lot. Or no. [00:29:56] Speaker D: Oh, I don't know. [00:29:57] Speaker F: No one else knows. Clover is turned darn dead. [00:30:03] Speaker D: That's a very good question. And maybe something that we should mention. Dilare and Grep the blades, I assume. [00:30:14] Speaker F: No, but. Ah, great, great, great, great, great, great, great. [00:30:23] Speaker D: Well then I guess we can stash it for the moment and then reconfigure. [00:30:36] Speaker F: Yeah, I'll like here. He's like, I'll find somewhere to move the body. Like it like, maybe like I'll take one of Graving's trash cans and I'll replace it. I promise. I'll promise Quing I'll replace your trash can. At least I know where it's supposed to go. Like a carry it somewhere. [00:31:01] Speaker D: Did you just turn it to graveling? [00:31:05] Speaker F: No. You're just gonna kind of like look in the distance. Assuming that like even though Graving can't hear him Graving. Like it's gonna assume Graving will assume that Yuri did something stupid. [00:31:16] Speaker B: So. [00:31:19] Speaker F: You should. [00:31:19] Speaker I: You. [00:31:20] Speaker F: You launch it to try to see what's in the box, see if it's useful. I also grab stuff off their desk. [00:31:36] Speaker D: Okay. Maybe I don't know if you should go by yourself just in case you are followed. [00:31:43] Speaker F: Yeah, I don't know. I think Yuri is very much trying to be like. Trying to focus was like. Like they still feel a little terrible. Like Alice, like was the closest person to that. Like, to being basically Yuri, but they're just. They're trying to not deal with that right now. Poorly. [00:32:11] Speaker D: Also, it does not have to be you who takes so deals with it. You know, I. [00:32:21] Speaker F: Well, no, I. I brought them here. I should take care of it. That's. That's the whole. That's the thing I just. [00:32:31] Speaker I: Did. [00:32:31] Speaker D: I go with you. [00:32:34] Speaker F: You. You should. You should stay. You're protecting Juni. [00:32:41] Speaker I: Before you take the body anywhere, Elouette, can you check to see if it's being tracked? [00:32:51] Speaker D: I can attempt it, sure. I'm gonna do my little arcane sense and wiggle my little talisman over it. And then I'm gonna. I don't know, give it a little esoteric search if I gotta. [00:33:13] Speaker B: Yeah, no, you do your little detect. Magic. There is no magic on the. [00:33:21] Speaker E: That's, like, the only way you can track something. Mostly, Right. [00:33:28] Speaker B: Mostly. [00:33:30] Speaker E: You didn't leave, like, a blood trail, right? Did you leave a blood trail? [00:33:33] Speaker F: No, it was wrapped. [00:33:35] Speaker D: Okay. [00:33:37] Speaker F: A sigil would mark like, peeing as magic. [00:33:41] Speaker D: Yeah. [00:33:44] Speaker B: Yes, it would. I believe so. Okay. [00:33:46] Speaker D: Magic. There does not seem to be anything here. Yeah. [00:33:53] Speaker F: I think that Yuri will just. I don't know, disguise himself as just, like, a person that they saw on the street and be like, I shouldn't go alone. [00:34:13] Speaker D: Well, we could. We could fetch the others here and then handle it, if you would prefer. She was your aunt. Yeah. [00:34:29] Speaker F: Lay. Thalistar, could you stay with Juni and Rook and maybe try to figure out what's in the box while Lu and I take care of this? [00:34:42] Speaker I: Yeah, of course. [00:34:46] Speaker G: You don't have any thieves tools, do you? [00:34:49] Speaker B: I do. [00:34:50] Speaker I: Yeah. [00:34:51] Speaker B: Leith does. [00:34:53] Speaker G: Because I don't want to waste a nox scroll on this. [00:34:57] Speaker I: Yeah, I can at least try it with thieves tools. [00:35:00] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:35:01] Speaker D: I will give Lath a little pat on the shoulder for guidance as I go out. [00:35:09] Speaker I: And that's gay. And then at 20. So, 39 total. [00:35:15] Speaker B: 39. Yeah. No, this is relatively simple. It does not take you all that long. A minute or two and you got it popped open. And immediately it seems like a lot that's in here are mementos of some kind. There is, like, small little portraits of the family. There is locks of hair. There's like, a little cameo brooch. And then there's also a journal. [00:35:54] Speaker A: Oh. [00:35:58] Speaker I: What'S up? [00:35:59] Speaker C: The journal. [00:36:00] Speaker D: Yeah. [00:36:00] Speaker I: Reading book club. [00:36:04] Speaker B: And as you start to flip through this, it's. The journal is a couple of years old at this point, but it certainly seems part journal, part ledger. It's certainly Alice Was keeping track of the events of the day and you know, her thoughts and feelings. And there is certainly. It's gonna take you a while to go through, but this could certainly have something in it. [00:36:38] Speaker D: You said it also had a cameo and a lock of hair. [00:36:42] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:36:47] Speaker G: Wait, did you say a cameo? Like when someone appears in a. [00:36:52] Speaker B: Briefly the brooch with a little facade. [00:36:55] Speaker D: Of a face on it. [00:36:56] Speaker B: You usually silhouette. [00:36:57] Speaker D: Yeah. [00:36:58] Speaker G: Oh, okay. [00:37:01] Speaker E: It's Robert Downey Jr. [00:37:08] Speaker H: Freddie Mercury from the hit horror series Five Nights at Freddy's. [00:37:17] Speaker B: So it's the cameo you believe is of her mother. And the lock of hair may also be from her mother. It's similar hair color to Alice herself, but it looks like it's like was taken when somebody was a child. [00:37:40] Speaker D: Is her mother dead, I assume. [00:37:42] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:37:43] Speaker D: Okay, just checking. [00:37:45] Speaker I: Are these the like cursed side of the family also or is she uncursed? [00:37:49] Speaker B: No, it's the non cursed side of the family. [00:37:53] Speaker D: Cool. God knows why. [00:37:59] Speaker E: Things that you don't disclose until after the wedding. Things you should disclose before the wedding, but clearly did not. [00:38:08] Speaker B: So are we metaphorically getting the band back together? Sure. [00:38:15] Speaker D: And literally we'll grab instruments. [00:38:17] Speaker E: No, I'm kidding. [00:38:22] Speaker B: Yeah. Once again, groups converge and Lorelei and Grave Wing returning to Starlight Bastion as the rest of the group comes in and with a large bin in tow. [00:38:41] Speaker C: Is it smelling? [00:38:43] Speaker B: I mean, it was a trash can. [00:38:46] Speaker H: Do I have a dead body sense? [00:38:49] Speaker B: I mean, it's real suspicious. [00:38:52] Speaker E: I come in with a plate of. [00:38:53] Speaker H: Cookies and I say that's a suspicious trash can. [00:38:58] Speaker F: You're Yuri is like looking at graving. I. I'll return this. [00:39:06] Speaker C: Wait, wait, not. [00:39:08] Speaker I: The. [00:39:11] Speaker C: Griffin was like covering like plugging her nose like with her hands. What do you mean by. What do you mean by return this? [00:39:20] Speaker F: Well, this is your bin. [00:39:24] Speaker G: Yeah, we did took out a senator. [00:39:27] Speaker F: We didn't kill. [00:39:28] Speaker G: What? [00:39:28] Speaker F: The senator? [00:39:31] Speaker G: No, but you did take her out. [00:39:36] Speaker E: Oh, no. Now's the time for puns. [00:39:38] Speaker C: Alistaira Gravewing puts two hands to support her lower back. Okay, yeah, tell me everything. Where. [00:39:49] Speaker F: Where are we by the way? [00:39:53] Speaker B: You're now in the Wollstonecraft Manor in Starlight Bastion. [00:39:58] Speaker F: Okay. Gosh. All right, well, this is. We went to go have a chat with my aunt. [00:40:11] Speaker C: Senator Alice Moran. [00:40:13] Speaker F: Moran. Yeah. [00:40:15] Speaker D: Yeah. [00:40:16] Speaker F: We were in a rush shortly after because they had a meeting with Elias Gore and Le. The Veiled One. Yes, yes. That meeting lasted about five minutes apparently because they killed him. [00:40:36] Speaker C: That doesn't explain why you have my garbage can. [00:40:43] Speaker F: We took the body and after they left, we Went in to grab a bunch of stuff to see what we could salvage. We took the body in case they tried to bring it back to life. We ran to the first closest place which happened to be the shop. [00:41:00] Speaker C: Raven opens her mouth, nothing comes out. [00:41:04] Speaker F: No, I understand, I understand. They were following me. I was running. I was the one running with the body. [00:41:12] Speaker C: No, it's. [00:41:13] Speaker F: I understand. [00:41:15] Speaker C: It's fine. I think that place might be compromised anyways. [00:41:23] Speaker F: Yeah, because we were thinking that Clover. [00:41:26] Speaker C: Was in there, so. [00:41:28] Speaker F: Yeah, we were also disguised as Johnny and Clover. Let me tell you, Lou has great aim right now, by the way. Threw a card right at me. [00:41:39] Speaker D: I thought Juniper was in danger. I thought they were attacking your family. I don't know. [00:41:44] Speaker C: Up here, up here. The like upper part. A mask. Remember mask covers upper part of the face. [00:41:50] Speaker I: Right. [00:41:50] Speaker C: But I. I feel like you guys could, can tell what, like the facial expressions that are coming, even though they're like covered, Right? Just, just, just, just frowning, Frowning some more. Just, you know, like. You ever see those like cat memes? You know, just, just. It's getting more and more frown. Okay, I. Okay. And we need to dispose though your aunt's body now. [00:42:21] Speaker F: Yeah, that's that. I was gonna do it. [00:42:24] Speaker D: Yeah. [00:42:24] Speaker C: Okay. [00:42:25] Speaker F: Was gonna join me. So I'm not alone. [00:42:28] Speaker D: All right. [00:42:29] Speaker F: Because remember what happened last time I was alone. [00:42:34] Speaker D: Yes, it is for moral support. Because your aunt died. [00:42:40] Speaker E: Yeah. [00:42:41] Speaker D: Yeah. [00:42:41] Speaker C: Okay. Sorry about your aunt. [00:42:46] Speaker F: It's fine. She was selling everyone out, so, you know. [00:42:53] Speaker C: Okay. So I have this bag that we can put the corpse in and it. Defeat it. It will stop you from carrying a. A trash can around. [00:43:08] Speaker F: Oh, great. [00:43:10] Speaker I: Yeah. [00:43:10] Speaker C: And it's less smelly. [00:43:13] Speaker F: Yeah. [00:43:14] Speaker C: Yes. Do you, do you want it? I just give it to you. I just give it. I just give it to you. [00:43:19] Speaker F: I'll figure it out. I'll put the. [00:43:22] Speaker C: Actually, while I'm giving you things, here's your wallet, right? [00:43:27] Speaker F: Yeah, it's. It's a little lighter than I remember. [00:43:31] Speaker C: Yeah, we've just been using it every time we have to cross that to. [00:43:37] Speaker F: No, that's fair. No, that's, you know. Hey, thanks. [00:43:45] Speaker C: Yep. Okay. [00:43:47] Speaker D: Okay. So. [00:43:50] Speaker C: Got to look to Laura. I'm like. Are you going to be offended if we use the same. [00:43:55] Speaker B: No. [00:43:59] Speaker C: Because it's on my mind now. It just really quickly. What else did you tell Clover? I need to see how compromised my family is right now. [00:44:11] Speaker B: To be fair, Clover had been really busy and I. [00:44:16] Speaker C: Did you tell her anything about the midnights? [00:44:20] Speaker B: No, I never did. [00:44:21] Speaker C: Okay. [00:44:22] Speaker B: That wasn't my Secret to give. [00:44:24] Speaker C: Okay. Okay. Well then that's good. [00:44:26] Speaker I: That's. [00:44:26] Speaker C: We're fine then. I'll just make them all stay there for now. I just. Until we deal with Johnny. I don't trust the shop anymore, so we better move Rook and Juniper as well. Baby steps. Let's just. [00:44:45] Speaker I: Let's. [00:44:48] Speaker C: We'll take you to the funeral pyre. Is that good with you? [00:44:56] Speaker F: Tell me where it is. I could just find it. [00:44:59] Speaker C: Gives you general location. [00:45:03] Speaker F: After I assume could only be done either comically or strangely. We'll move the body from the trash can into the bag of holding. We'll leave the trash can outside. Maybe the Wollstonecraft manor could use a trash can now. Actually. [00:45:26] Speaker C: It'S just gonna stay here at this point. Yeah. [00:45:29] Speaker E: No one's bringing that back. [00:45:32] Speaker C: Drag it all the way back. [00:45:33] Speaker E: Like we'll buy you a new one. Yeah, just let's replace it. [00:45:40] Speaker F: Yeah. So lose joining. [00:45:43] Speaker D: Oh yeah. [00:45:46] Speaker F: Yeah. Yuri goes to the py. Is not really saying much. And will remove Alice's body from the bag and ask for Lou's assistance to kind of like toss them on there safely. [00:46:12] Speaker D: Do you want to say anything? [00:46:16] Speaker F: I don't know. I mean, seeing as I was the closest relative to her that didn't curse under their breath when they said her name. Feel like maybe I should. I don't know what to say though. I barely knew them. But it doesn't mean that they deserved to die for nothing. [00:46:51] Speaker D: Not everyone knows how to be strong when it is dangerous. I would say perhaps most people do not. But that does not mean there wasn't a chance she could have done better. It's given the opportunity. And it is a shame she was not given that chance. [00:47:24] Speaker F: I always. You know, she was a senator for the row at one point. I think she cared about it, but just never had any support of her own. I guess at least she won't have to deal with coming back to life. For whatever they're doing. [00:47:52] Speaker D: Is nothing but a good thing. [00:47:59] Speaker F: Yuri is going to look down for a little bit and then just kind of like picks up the bag of holding. [00:48:11] Speaker I: And. [00:48:13] Speaker F: Kind of does the thing where it's not like grabbing loose shoulder but kind of like does the pat on the lose shoulder. Just. Thanks for coming along. [00:48:26] Speaker D: Of course. We are what we have left. [00:48:33] Speaker F: Yeah. Yeah, we are. What, a couple days? Yeah. [00:48:42] Speaker D: Yeah. What's a couple days? [00:48:46] Speaker F: And I think Yuri just leads the way back. And it's not really going to say much else unless prompted to. [00:48:55] Speaker D: Nah, she'll let you mull it over. [00:48:59] Speaker E: She also no idea what to say about any of this. She has just been throwing out words and hoping they were helpful. She did not know this woman. She never met her. [00:49:09] Speaker B: Exactly. [00:49:10] Speaker F: Exactly Right. [00:49:10] Speaker E: I feel bad for Yuri, but, like, clearly complicated relationship at the best of times, let alone being like, well, she kind of betrayed everybody, but also, like, felt bad about it. Maybe. [00:49:21] Speaker D: I don't know. [00:49:22] Speaker E: Anyway. [00:49:23] Speaker B: Yeah. And what are the rest of you up to as the other two walk back from burning the body. [00:49:37] Speaker I: And I've just been reading the journal. [00:49:40] Speaker G: I think book club's the way to go. [00:49:43] Speaker B: Yeah. If you're going through the journal, you will certainly learn that Alice was a patsy and most certainly was aware of it. But unfortunately there wasn't much that she could ever do to truly push against. It was easier when Lorelai was in control because they had a deal. And Lorelai was at least scary enough that she actively dissuaded people from trying to take back the district. And the power of her and the blades were really the only thing keeping people from coming in and just taking it over. Because it's something you would have been aware, but something very much in this book. The people of Silver Court were not always happy with having something like Salvation row directly across the river. [00:50:52] Speaker I: Yeah. [00:50:53] Speaker B: Gentrification, it certainly sounds like from what you can read is that's. That's always been the long term plan. The people in Silver Court is to eventually try and take the district back from the bloody Blades. So then essentially they can force all the people who will no longer be able to afford to live there out. [00:51:17] Speaker I: Yeah, I think that that is unsurprising, Del, but, you know, something to keep at least. [00:51:28] Speaker B: She certainly does not shy away from naming names in this. So. [00:51:33] Speaker G: I'm more focused on, like, because we know she's a patsy. I'm getting my conspiracy board stuff ready. You know, I got. I got my spell book and I have opened it up to the back and I'm. I'm just like drawing diagrams, trying to figure out any extra information I can gather from it. Connecting dots. It's all absolutely insane. [00:52:08] Speaker B: Like, there's a real Pepe Silvia moment. [00:52:12] Speaker G: There's like Waldo. There's a little picture of Waldo in one of the diagrams. It's like, there he is. Or is it Wally for our British listeners? [00:52:28] Speaker C: I don't remember. [00:52:30] Speaker D: I didn't think it also started with a W, but maybe it did. [00:52:33] Speaker G: Yeah. Where's Wally? Is the outside of North America. [00:52:42] Speaker B: Yeah. Well, you graveling, what are you up to during this time? [00:52:53] Speaker C: I think one I want to check in with Lorelai, see how she's vibing. If she needs some time alone or whatever, then I will let her. Let her be. It's. We were literally just at her dead wife's funeral, so, you know, she needs time then she does. And. But I think I need to go to the group right now, especially because I am realizing where I live is fully compromised. So I need to go and empty out valuables, like, right now. So that's what I'm thinking of doing, and that's where I'm probably gonna. Gonna go. She is, of course, free to come or not. It's entirely up to her. [00:53:49] Speaker B: If you give Lorelai a task, she will gladly assist you with that because it doesn't mean she doesn't have to think about her dead wife. [00:53:57] Speaker C: That's true. Do you want to come help empty out a good chunk of my shop? [00:54:06] Speaker B: Yeah, yeah, I think I do. [00:54:09] Speaker C: I'm so bad at light talk and small talk, but I'm gonna do my best. And it's really bad, Aubrey. It's really bad. I go. [00:54:18] Speaker B: Is not great at it either. [00:54:21] Speaker C: Yeah, I go. Wow. I'm trying to fill the dead air here. [00:54:25] Speaker D: Okay. [00:54:26] Speaker C: Oh, yeah, dead air. There's so much dead air. Today's corpse day. [00:54:35] Speaker I: Just go. [00:54:37] Speaker C: I don't even know where we got that trash can. I'm not attached to it. I. I'm glad that they apologized. I think that was very nice of them, but I don't think they've been in dark light often. That's like our 18th trash can do. [00:54:56] Speaker B: Get stolen quite a bit for some reason. [00:54:59] Speaker D: Yeah. [00:55:01] Speaker C: Or kicked around. [00:55:03] Speaker D: Yeah, The. I look up. [00:55:11] Speaker C: General smog and clouds in the sky. [00:55:14] Speaker B: Are. [00:55:17] Speaker C: Even different colors today. You know, usually they're gray, and now they're blue gray. [00:55:31] Speaker B: And at some point while you're walking, Lorelai will just quietly take your hand. [00:55:42] Speaker C: I will give it a squeeze and hold it. [00:55:48] Speaker B: And before too long, you find yourself back at the. The shop. It still says closed. [00:55:56] Speaker C: I know where our spare key is. And this time I'm going to. Well, I'm one. I'm checking if it's still there. [00:56:01] Speaker B: It is. [00:56:03] Speaker C: I'm going to take it. I'm going to cover up that hiding spot, and I'm going to keep the spare key with me because after we close it today, we're going to just kind of leave it closed for a bit. But I'll, like, enter and are they. Is everybody, like, in the front. Is everybody just, like, chilling in the. [00:56:23] Speaker B: Front of the shop or, like, what do you see? Juniper and Rook, they sort of like. They. They're, like, moving because, like, somebody just came in. But then they're also reminding, like, wait, no, who would be coming in. The door, it's locked, and there it says, we're closed, but they're kind of like, in the back. It looks like they were, like, having a conversation about something and cleaning off the table where the. The people left the dead body for a bit. [00:56:51] Speaker C: Thank you. It would be really upsetting to see this place with juices. It's us. [00:57:03] Speaker B: Oh, okay. [00:57:06] Speaker C: So I've heard. Have I. You have also all hurt. [00:57:15] Speaker B: They came here first. [00:57:17] Speaker D: Yeah, I. I thought so. [00:57:20] Speaker C: This place might be compromised until Johnny's been dealt with. So we're gonna move. You guys okay? [00:57:29] Speaker B: Yeah. What do you. She looks between rookie and she's like, what do you. What do you. Do you need us to pack some stuff up or something? [00:57:38] Speaker C: Yeah, if you could pack up some of the more valuable products, that would be. That would be a great. Obviously. Please pack up your own things as well, and we'll help move everything out. [00:57:51] Speaker B: But I. [00:57:54] Speaker C: I'm gonna go get my. I'm gonna go get my things. I'm gonna go get my family stuff, and I'll look to Lorelei. [00:58:02] Speaker D: Do you. [00:58:02] Speaker C: Could you help me with that? [00:58:05] Speaker B: It's like. Yeah, no, I can. I can help you. And quickly, Juniper and Rook move about packing up the more expensive items and any of their small belongings. Looks like book club will have to be hosted somewhere else. [00:58:25] Speaker D: Okay. [00:58:26] Speaker C: Wolsten, Craft Matter was where I was gonna drop them. [00:58:28] Speaker B: I mean, it's even easier for. For Lou to join in, but Clem. [00:58:35] Speaker C: And then I was thinking, you know, like, as a group later, if we feel deep, it's better to have them in other places, like the Tower or whatever, then that could be a. A later thing. But, like, the manor seems like the best place right now. I. I go upstairs. I bring my girlfriend upstairs, and. [00:58:57] Speaker D: I'm. [00:58:58] Speaker C: Very painfully aware this is my first time doing that. So I get, like, an awkward Asian. I just start showing her around, because if you enter my home for the first time, I just. I guess I have to give you a house tour. And I just go, bathroom, bedrooms, bedrooms. This one's mine, which is right beside the bathroom, so it's greatly inconvenient. But that's okay because this is my first room ever. And I just. I just start awkwardly talking like that. Like, just like it's. This is the worst house tour ever, because we're packing up this. I Get a lot of miscellaneous things, I think. Things that I know that are important. Important to the kids and my sister, my brother in law. I try to grab some clothes. I try to. I try to grab some clothes as well. Books that I recognize that are really popular, ironically. The full series now of. Of Mercy Naxon, because my kids now have the full set because I got them a gift. Trinkets. Because I know that my sister has a bunch of trinkets. Most of them were made by her husband when he was wooing her with shiny things that he made. And then I take anything else as sentimental. I don't think I have many sentimental things. Like for myself, I think my room is super, super bare. It looks like a bed that I sleep in, but it's made because I'm not messy. And I don't keep anything like, at all. I don't get things. That's a lie. I have pictures that my kids drew that I still keep, that I don't throw away, that I take. That's all I have, though. I don't have anything else. I have like two, three shirts. [01:01:17] Speaker D: One. [01:01:17] Speaker C: Dress, things like that. I might even leave them. I. They're not that important to me. But the. The pictures I take, though, that's about it. [01:01:28] Speaker B: Yeah. And Lorelei certainly helps you pack up all of these things. There's. There's a little bit of like, roboticness to her movements, of just like going through the motions. But she wants to be there for you. [01:01:44] Speaker C: If I ever have to move past her, I will always, like, brush her arm or her shoulders or whatever. Just like a grounding mechanism, you know? [01:01:59] Speaker B: And then eventually, after about an hour or so, you have everything packed up and you head back down to move with Rook and Juniper. Doesn't take you all that long to get them back to the mansion, do we? [01:02:19] Speaker C: Are we as a group all now together? [01:02:22] Speaker B: I would say yeah. It's about, you know, point where everybody's back together. [01:02:28] Speaker C: So I'm moving Juniper and Brook in here with us now. At least until we deal with Johnny. I don't think they're safe. I don't think the Shop is safe, but we did move some of the Shop stuff here, so. [01:02:43] Speaker H: Well, I guess to either of you have any dietary restrictions I should know about? [01:02:49] Speaker B: Juniper and Rook go both shake their heads particularly perfect. [01:02:57] Speaker H: Take a little note of my notepad. [01:02:58] Speaker E: And scuttle off to make more food. [01:03:00] Speaker H: Because I did not prepare for two extra people, but I sure can. [01:03:05] Speaker F: Should probably consolidate rooms then. [01:03:09] Speaker D: You can have mine. If you don't Mind showering with n. [01:03:16] Speaker F: Were you talking? [01:03:19] Speaker B: Well, the mansion is certainly getting full, but not necessarily a bad thing. [01:03:29] Speaker C: We just need one big bad storm episode where we're all trapped inside and everything will be fixed. [01:03:36] Speaker F: Bad. [01:03:39] Speaker C: Just one episode? [01:03:41] Speaker B: Yeah, one episode. You know, where nobody leaves. [01:03:45] Speaker C: Exactly. And we're all trapped inside. [01:03:48] Speaker F: I think canonically Yuri has been like crashing on the couch like every time they stay here. [01:03:55] Speaker I: Yeah. Cuz I got the room. [01:03:57] Speaker D: Yeah. [01:03:57] Speaker F: Yeah. [01:04:00] Speaker E: We're gonna have to start bunking even more. [01:04:04] Speaker B: Yeah, there's couches and you set up cots. But yeah, no, you. We are pretty much using this to close out the week. As you all go into the next time, we'll go into the rebellion phase and finally decide what your plan is about. Johnny Take. If you would like to take this out. [01:04:29] Speaker H: Johnny Appleseed. [01:04:33] Speaker B: He's kind of the opposite of that. [01:04:39] Speaker H: All right, well, thank you everyone for listening to the wonderful episode of Goblets and Gays. If you like what we do here, feel free to follow us on Twitter.
