[00:00:00] Speaker A: Sam.
Waking up asleep I've been dreaming Dr. Long I cannot find meaning.
Hold my hand, Let me stay by your side through this never ending night.
[00:00:59] Speaker B: I can feel it now.
[00:01:01] Speaker A: It holds me all the these demons around me in this red light because me he is reaching out, consuming.
[00:01:33] Speaker B: Hello everybody. Welcome back to God's Caves. I'm Aubrey, your gm and I'll players introduce themselves, who they are, who they're playing and then we'll get rolling into things.
[00:01:43] Speaker C: Hi, I'm Aki and I play the vigilante Gravewing, who is a Nagaji sylph, monk and kineticist. We both use she her pronouns.
[00:01:55] Speaker A: Hello, I am Faris, she her and I play Aloha Tver. Also she her a bardic thaumaturge beast kin doing her best while juggling a family curse, falling in love and of course the end of the world.
[00:02:09] Speaker D: Hello, I'm Dusty. I use they he pronouns and I'm playing Eu, formerly Moran, still a problem, just angrier now. They are a blood hunter nephilim problem, just just trying to fix things even though it's all bad. They also use they he pronouns.
[00:02:34] Speaker E: Hello, I'm Sparlock and I play Alistair Whiskerfield, the great rat detective, arcane archer and wizard extraordinaire, the revolutionary firebrand, sworn enemy to the Scriabins and scourge of the bourgeoisie and master of Nicodemus Tower. We both use he him pronouns.
[00:02:55] Speaker F: Hi, I'm Tick. I use he, she, they pronouns. And today I'll be playing Niall, who uses he they pronouns. He cooks, he cleans, he eats people and has an alien parasite living in his spine, slowly consuming him. What more could you ask for?
[00:03:07] Speaker A: Hi, I'm Alyssa. My pronouns are they, them and I play. Laith Idrisi, the fourth Dampier, dandy, rogue, failed matricide with a minus one constitution modifier. Laithe uses she any pronouns.
[00:03:22] Speaker B: So what happened last time I'll be
[00:03:25] Speaker F: encouraged just to steal. That's what happened last time. It kicked off an amazing heist in two different groups and solidified our plan where Lou, Yuri and Niall were doing a wonderful distraction of rising people up for a protest, you know, to get people focused on something else, while the others went inside to steal the sacred crown. As the inside team was walking around, they actually saw Tallis old office because he's technically considered not dead and just missing in action. Which is really funny because I'm pretty sure he's dead and it's my fault and I'm pretty sure I made sure he's Dead. So like he's. He's not coming back again.
But they went to the main office, they heard Elias Gore and the principal having a nice little dispute about using the students for experimentation.
And you know, that's not very cash money to do, but got into the office, stole a wonderful crown, ransacked Talis's office, and managed to successfully sneak out while the other group was kind of containing a ever growing dispute that was kind of evolving into a riot. But we managed to turn it into a concert instead, kind of.
[00:04:29] Speaker A: Thank you, Lou.
[00:04:30] Speaker F: As we sent everyone home and we headed back with a very beautiful fake crown. Knowledge of Talos office and knowledge of human experimentation on campus. There's a lot of fucked up things going in Ravenswood. This is not a normal college, is it? Like, the only thing that we haven't added is like, I don't know.
I don't know.
The tuition's probably unaffordable, so it's probably just. That's just every college, though.
Anyways, that's what happened last time we stole.
[00:05:02] Speaker B: Yeah, it's.
It's been a day or so of since the.
The heist. And I'm going to open with you graveling.
[00:05:18] Speaker C: What I do. Jesus.
[00:05:19] Speaker B: Okay, well, if you remember correctly, someone said they would return in the following week to court you properly.
[00:05:29] Speaker C: Oh my God, it's been a week.
[00:05:32] Speaker B: It has been a week.
And you are probably just like getting ready and everything. And when you see Vittorio approaching carrying a bouquet of flowers,
[00:05:49] Speaker C: and then I am reminded that he. Wait, where am I?
[00:05:52] Speaker B: Even like I'm somewhere in the manor.
[00:05:59] Speaker C: Oh boy.
I'm thinking, I'm thinking Gravewing is perhaps having. It's perhaps the day after one of the heavy sleep days.
So I'm still a little bit lethargic and I think maybe Niles made me something warm to drink. And I'm just having like a second cup of that. Like there's like a pot somewhere so I can just keep drinking warm fluids to kind of slowly wake up and not go back to sleep.
And so I think I'm like half hallucinating or something because I don't think I've seen flowers up close ever.
[00:06:52] Speaker B: These are very, very pretty and kind of have a very unique shape to the bloom.
Anybody who is aware of flowers, maybe Luke can tell you later, they're Tatura flowers.
[00:07:10] Speaker A: Aha.
[00:07:11] Speaker C: I know what they are. I knew. I knew what they were.
[00:07:15] Speaker B: Kind of walks up and said, did I promise that I was going to do this correctly?
These are for you,
[00:07:28] Speaker C: see. Oh, you can't see I'm wearing a mask. I lean in close. I move.
I move far.
Like, I move back. Back into to my seat. And I lean in close again.
And then I look behind me to double check.
Then I point to myself.
[00:07:55] Speaker B: Oh,
[00:08:00] Speaker C: are these real?
[00:08:03] Speaker B: This.
A very helpful botanist in the Darklight Bazaar was growing them. And they're beautiful. Like you.
[00:08:21] Speaker C: Okay.
Wow, thanks.
I'm not used to any of this dark light. We have flowers in a dark light,
[00:08:38] Speaker B: if you know where to look.
[00:08:40] Speaker C: I'm, like, doing.
I'm, like, approaching the flowers with my hands as if they were, like, at least one velociraptor, you know, Like, I'm not sure what to do here.
And then, like, when I take them, I remember that flowers are plants and plants need water.
And I magically don't remember what a vase looks like because I'm so flustered right now. But I know they need water. And so I'm looking for something big enough to put them in.
To also put water in.
[00:09:27] Speaker B: Yeah, I mean, this is a nice enough manner that there is probably a vase not that far from you.
[00:09:38] Speaker C: Just gonna borrow this.
I take the vase, I go fill it up with water. I put the flowers very, very slowly. And because I know that flowers are fragile and I have rough hands, so I put them very, like, gently into.
Listen. I say vaas.
I aki. The person say vaas.
[00:10:08] Speaker A: Vase.
[00:10:09] Speaker C: You want me to say vase?
So rough? No, vaas.
[00:10:14] Speaker E: It rhymes with mace.
It just seems more great graveling way
[00:10:20] Speaker C: to say would be. But also, unfortunately, I pronounce it like that. Wait till you ask her to say other words that I don't pronounce correctly.
But yeah. No, what was I saying?
Yeah, I put the. I put the flowers in the vase very gently, almost in slow motion.
[00:10:45] Speaker B: Yes. And as she says, if you're still amenable, I would like to take you out to dinner.
[00:11:00] Speaker C: Yeah, sure.
[00:11:05] Speaker A: When?
[00:11:07] Speaker C: Where?
I'm not.
Yeah, no, when and where.
[00:11:16] Speaker B: Well, this evening, if you are available, I discovered a nice place in Darklight Bazaar.
[00:11:29] Speaker C: Um, yeah. Yeah, I don't think we got anything going on today.
Okay.
[00:11:40] Speaker B: This. Well, then I will.
I will find you this evening. And.
[00:11:53] Speaker C: Gray just nods a lot.
[00:11:55] Speaker B: He seems. He seems happy. He's like, yes, I did this properly. This is the proper way. You're supposed to court a person.
A proud bird.
[00:12:07] Speaker C: I'm gonna, like, walk around with the vase now because I don't know where to keep them. But I am reminded that they need light and we don't have a sun anymore. So I guess I put them not too close to any fire, but close enough.
[00:12:24] Speaker B: I mean, the tattura is actually a flower that blooms at night.
[00:12:29] Speaker C: But does Grave Wing know that?
Probably not exactly. So it's going somewhere near.
Near.
[00:12:39] Speaker B: Near.
[00:12:41] Speaker C: No, because there's no light there.
Going. Some going like Graveling thinks light, because warm. So it's somewhere near where our fire is going, but not. Not beside it. Like, I'm not. I don't want this thing to. Yeah, it's not. Cat. This thing's not catching anything. Nothing.
It's just close enough.
[00:13:00] Speaker B: Yeah.
So, yeah, you sort of put it in the. Like, the study or in, like, the sitting room. And also, whoever in the party wants to can have overheard or seen Graveling wandering around with a vase.
Yeah.
[00:13:25] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:13:25] Speaker C: And then afterwards, I'm gonna.
I'm gonna whisper on the wind. Lorelai. And ask her there, what am I supposed to wear to these things?
Because I'm. I don't think.
I don't think my usual slacks is approved.
[00:13:47] Speaker B: Yeah.
Lorelai would show up after probably like an hour or so.
And then just being like, we will find you the perfect outfit.
I've already restocked your closet.
[00:14:02] Speaker C: What?
When?
How long was I asleep?
[00:14:09] Speaker B: Well, I did this a couple of weeks ago.
How did you not look into the back of the closet? You know, there's this. There's some.
Some garment bags.
[00:14:26] Speaker C: The answer is no. And think wherever we'll go look. But this is also a great way to trap her in a closet again. So, you know, Tom and Jerry trap right here.
Home alone. Right here?
[00:14:40] Speaker B: Yeah. No, in the back of your closet are these garment bags from Lorelai's Taylor in.
They feel very opulent for you.
And in all of the. All.
All the perfect sizes.
Laura Lyn is as many as her dress size. Yep.
[00:15:03] Speaker C: Yeah, I was like, damn.
Okay, well, these are very nice.
[00:15:14] Speaker B: Yes. Only the best for you.
Are you sure?
[00:15:21] Speaker C: What am I going to do with all. All of these?
[00:15:26] Speaker B: Wear them.
[00:15:30] Speaker C: Yeah, but I mean, like, they just seem really nice to wear. Like, I. I'm not going on special.
I'm not going. I'm not going on dates all the time.
Am I like, all the.
Is this all the time where you can't tell, but her eyes are twitching because she doesn't know what to do.
[00:15:54] Speaker B: Says, well, certainly after things settle down a little bit, I wouldn't mind taking you out as well.
[00:16:10] Speaker C: Oh, my God. These are all the time where.
[00:16:13] Speaker A: Just.
[00:16:13] Speaker C: Just mumbling, but, like, not. Not.
Not like I'm upset or anything about it. It's more like I did not check the bags, and the bags were for me. I just thought these were bags.
[00:16:28] Speaker F: Like.
[00:16:29] Speaker C: Like I wasn't gonna open that. Wasn't mine, but they were mine.
[00:16:33] Speaker B: Yeah, yeah, yeah. No, you're. You're able to find.
These are all very nice dresses in your size.
Yeah. And, Laurel, I will also help you get ready by. Do it. Helping you do your hair and makeup.
[00:16:56] Speaker C: I don't need this makeup.
I am still wearing a mask. Not taking this off.
Or. Or maybe not a mask mask. Maybe I'm wearing, like, a cool hat and veil. I'm not taking this. I'm not taking. I'm not taking this off.
[00:17:10] Speaker A: Okay.
[00:17:10] Speaker D: What do you want to wear a veil? Like Lady Idrisi
[00:17:15] Speaker C: that didn't invent veils.
[00:17:19] Speaker B: Hey, look, some of the Nobles are doing it. It's all in fashion right now.
[00:17:25] Speaker C: I guess. I guess I could look. I guess. I guess it would look nicer than. Right. I just. I don't know. Mad makeup stuff isn't really for me. It says, like a liar. I only wear lips. Like, I only do lips. I don't do anything to my face because my face is covered. And there's no need to waste time like that. But, like, also. But, like, also, how come all of the.
[00:17:47] Speaker B: How.
[00:17:48] Speaker C: How come all of these. All these hemlines, all. All these necklines are kind of low here.
[00:17:57] Speaker B: Lorelei looks down, looks back up goes.
Because my dressmaker is amazing.
[00:18:06] Speaker A: Huh?
[00:18:07] Speaker C: Need a cloak or a scarf now? No, thanks.
I let her dress me up.
I protest very little. It's mostly to be, like.
Most of it is genuine, like, surprise or being flustered. And the rest of it is to poke fun a little bit.
I just. This is very new. All of this is very new. The Is courting, bro. Like, it's.
But I'll get. I'll get dolled up and really, like, hope that nobody sees it because they don't know what to say if they do see it.
[00:18:49] Speaker B: Yeah.
Question, Lou. What are you up to right now?
[00:18:59] Speaker A: I don't know.
I don't know.
What do you want me to be up to? Give notebooks to Juniper.
[00:19:09] Speaker F: Eavesdropping. You should be eavesdropping on this. Come on, girl.
[00:19:13] Speaker A: I did for a while, and I just got into dresses, and that's not fun if you're not participating.
[00:19:18] Speaker C: You can participate. No one's talking.
[00:19:21] Speaker A: No, no. This seems like a couple activity.
[00:19:24] Speaker B: Or you can go. You can go see Juniper.
[00:19:27] Speaker A: Okay, Yeah, I got. I'll go deliver the notebooks to Juniper
[00:19:34] Speaker B: as You sort of enter the, the, the, the room that maybe was one of the like studies for I think maybe Helena's wife before he's been turned into a bedroom. But I mean, it's kind of the perfect bedroom for one nerd.
Brook is not really a nerd, but Brook isn't enjoying reading books with Juniper, so they spend a lot of time reading. They're sort of just sort of in their own little chairs and everything and kind of pot of tea between them and drinking tea and reading books and sort of immediately as you come in, like Juniper will sort of perk up and just say, oh, hey, I actually need to find you. I, I have. I have news.
[00:20:22] Speaker A: Oh, all right. What is your news?
[00:20:25] Speaker B: I.
The. The book that you asked me to translate for to help your mom. Oh, I, I, I think I. I think I know what I need.
[00:20:36] Speaker A: Well, go on.
[00:20:39] Speaker B: It is going to take me a while to get the, the materials and I'll have to have an.
An alchemical lab set up again. But I think I could make the.
The compound that would let her return to the human form again.
[00:21:00] Speaker A: That is. That is really good news.
That is really good news.
[00:21:12] Speaker B: I will need some of your blood for it.
[00:21:20] Speaker A: Okay.
[00:21:24] Speaker B: Okay. Yeah.
[00:21:25] Speaker A: There's not a real request, but I
[00:21:28] Speaker B: just wanted to make sure. I wasn't, I wasn't sure.
[00:21:31] Speaker A: No, no, no. I mean it's a lot of cars, but like, other than that, some people
[00:21:35] Speaker B: are very, very specific about their blood.
[00:21:38] Speaker A: You know, I don't have any particular attachment to it except for the fact that it is required to keep me alive.
[00:21:46] Speaker B: Yeah, I. I don't. I don't need that much. I just need test tubes worth.
Just for, for this. It's.
It, you know, it works the like the closer related a person is to.
To it. And again, as long as it's.
As long as I've done all my calculations correctly.
Should take me a couple of weeks to brew it up.
I'm gonna have to talk to those pirates of ours because I'm going to need them to get me something.
[00:22:20] Speaker A: I am sure they would be more than willing to do it if you went and Doranathema's banner. And of course any of us could go with you if you do not feel comfortable going alone. But these seem pretty. They're rowdy, but they're fun.
You just have to drink with them. I hope that is okay. That's a problem. Or not a problem?
[00:22:38] Speaker B: No, that's not a problem.
I spent five years with the Clockwork Union. Those people know how to Throw a party.
[00:22:48] Speaker A: But yes. Any. Anytime you'll need to go out there, just let me know or somebody else know and you know, we've got plenty of us running around. Our buddy bites can take you. Whomever.
[00:22:58] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:22:59] Speaker B: Yeah, I will. Once I get.
Once I get a line on the rest of the ingredients I'll need.
Yeah, it should work as long as Talus's notes are correct, which.
Everything you know. Say what you will about him, man, you had a bro up. Alchemy.
[00:23:21] Speaker A: That appears to be true.
Out of curiosity, the. The notebook contained two formulas. Correct. One for unbirdifying and one for perma. Birdifying.
[00:23:40] Speaker B: Yeah.
I theoretically know how to make that.
[00:23:45] Speaker A: Both.
[00:23:46] Speaker B: Do you. Would you like me to make both?
[00:23:54] Speaker A: Yes.
[00:23:56] Speaker B: Oh, yeah. I can make both.
[00:23:58] Speaker A: You're certain that the. I mean, I suppose that's what we're going to find out. So you're not certain whether the unbirdified one works against the perma bird? If I want. But that's what we'll find out.
[00:24:13] Speaker B: As far as I could tell, it should. I have.
Yeah, as far as I can tell, it should. It should reverse the effects.
[00:24:24] Speaker A: That is good news for us, though. I think it is not very permanent on the permanent earth. But that's. I'm not going to complain.
[00:24:34] Speaker C: This.
[00:24:34] Speaker A: Hurry up.
[00:24:35] Speaker B: Yeah. Well, maybe you can have a conversation with your mom again.
[00:24:40] Speaker A: Yeah, that'll be weird.
I have to go back down into a hole. But we have, like, an elevator now and then I got to find her, and she's like a bird.
[00:24:51] Speaker B: Yeah, I. I understand the whole.
I. I had to.
I never told my parents I was, you know, kidnapped.
[00:25:05] Speaker A: And now you have been missing again for a while. Did they not notice?
[00:25:12] Speaker B: They're. They're kind of far away.
[00:25:16] Speaker C: Oh.
[00:25:17] Speaker A: I'm not in Malika.
[00:25:18] Speaker B: I didn't know. I'm not from Malacca.
[00:25:22] Speaker A: Oh.
Where are you from?
[00:25:26] Speaker B: I.
I came from gia.
Banked it all on my getting into Ravenswood. And it worked?
Kind of.
[00:25:46] Speaker A: I don't think it was their fault, you know?
[00:25:52] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:25:53] Speaker B: Cuz, I mean, how could you ever plan for getting kidnapped by your professor?
[00:26:01] Speaker A: You can't plan for things like that.
[00:26:04] Speaker B: No, you really can't.
I just did.
[00:26:11] Speaker A: Is it the place you want to go back to?
[00:26:15] Speaker B: Maybe I am.
When I left Ravenswood, I didn't really have, like, the money to go home to charter. Like, get charter on a boat.
And it would be even more expensive to go over land.
So I took what I learned from alchemy and applied it to my work at the Union. And before I Knew it like five years had gone by and I just.
You know, I just told my parents that everything was fine and I had. I had graduated and I moved to work in the clockwork union.
They didn't need to know I left.
[00:27:00] Speaker A: Well, I.
I hope you know that money is not any object if you. You want to go home.
It has been a long time since you have seen your family.
[00:27:17] Speaker B: Yeah, maybe after this is all over. I don't like to leave a project unfinished.
[00:27:28] Speaker A: I cannot relate.
But that is for other reasons.
I have more Talis books for you if you want them.
[00:27:46] Speaker B: Sure. I'll. I'll translate them for you.
You don't have anything to help you.
[00:27:51] Speaker A: For you if you. Oh, well, they found them. I guess his office is still intact and so sort of stolzen. I suppose he's not coming back for them and kind of. He sort of bequeathed all his stuff to us anyway. Not that the Ravens would know us that. But we know that, so it's not really stealing.
But you don't have to if you don't want to. If you're like.
I feel like the only thing I ever do is give you Talis notebooks.
[00:28:22] Speaker B: I mean, I. I am maybe one of the two people in the city that knows his shorthand. I don't know where Pharaoh got off to, and.
[00:28:31] Speaker A: And that is obviously a very invaluable skill, but you. You.
I don't know.
I feel like I'm always asking you for things and I don't have to. I. We can do unrelated things.
[00:28:47] Speaker B: I don't mind.
[00:28:50] Speaker A: You can. You can mind. You can be like stuff.
[00:28:54] Speaker B: No, I mean, I like. I like hanging out with you.
I like talking with you.
[00:29:01] Speaker A: I don't. I don't know that the translating the notebooks counts. It's more like just an excuse to keep coming back.
Not that I need one.
We live in the same house.
[00:29:12] Speaker B: I'll take it.
Earn work. Sort of like stands up. Just going. I'm going to go refill the teapot.
[00:29:24] Speaker A: Sorry, I did not mean to be rude.
Forgot you're here.
[00:29:31] Speaker B: There's definitely a blush from Juniper.
[00:29:38] Speaker A: How is Rook?
How's you? How are you and Rook? Are you roommates? Are you rooming together in the study?
[00:29:46] Speaker B: I mean, Claire rooming together points at the two cots that they've set up.
[00:29:53] Speaker A: Two beds?
[00:29:55] Speaker B: Yeah.
I mean, we. We get along well and we spent several weeks just sort of alone in the shop and we like each other's company and.
[00:30:09] Speaker A: Good. That is very good.
[00:30:16] Speaker B: And, you know, we're not like, together together, if that's what you were wondering.
[00:30:22] Speaker A: I mean, you can be like, that's none of my business if you want to be. I just was asking because you seem sort of, like, into them before, but seems like things are each other, I think a lot of experience and everyone around you are so goddamn weird.
[00:30:38] Speaker B: Yeah, everyone's weird. Yeah, everyone's a little weird. I mean, we're.
I. I would never be. I wouldn't be, like, opposed to it if he wanted to. It's just. It's never really come up. And he. He kind of getting over someone who, you know, died in the circus.
[00:31:00] Speaker A: Oh, that's historic.
[00:31:03] Speaker B: Yeah. So, you know, I'm just. I'm a friend and, you know, we enjoy each other's company and we like
[00:31:09] Speaker A: reading books, and that is. That is also very valuable.
[00:31:18] Speaker B: So, I mean, if you wanted to, you know, go get books.
[00:31:27] Speaker A: Yeah, I love getting books. I've never, you know, I haven't actually, like, gotten one from a store on purpose in a while. We just kind of keep getting them out of abandoned buildings and robbing them from people's offices. So it'd be cool to get, like, a regular published book that we're not scavenging somewhere.
[00:31:49] Speaker B: I mean, the.
In the Ravenswood district, there's.
There's Elric's Mystical Mysterium, which has some.
Usually it's mostly like school tomes and things like that for. For Ravenswood, but when I was there, he was like, I really got into those just, like, penny dreadful books. And he would always make sure to keep plenty of them stocked for me.
[00:32:20] Speaker A: That's.
I also was always a fan of the Penny Jarvis.
I read a lot of them.
[00:32:29] Speaker B: I'm sure he still has plenty. We could go. We can go and pick some up sometime. And I kind of miss Ravenswood. Like, I spent couple years there and.
You know, it would be nice to see the school again.
[00:32:46] Speaker A: Yes.
Yeah, I think. I think that would be a good time.
We may want to wait, like, a few weeks, just until the whole serial killer.
[00:32:59] Speaker C: Yeah,
[00:33:01] Speaker A: I don't feel super capable about fighting someone that Grave Wing had to kill.
I'm not really at that level. You know, I'm like, at the.
I'm not at any level. I'm kind of.
I'm just kind of here. You know, I. I just make little. Little doodads and.
And hope for the best. So I don't think I can take a serial killer. But when that's handled, then, you know, I should go to a bookstore.
[00:33:37] Speaker B: Yeah, Yeah, I know. That. That sounds. Sounds great. I'll once. Once that's been dealt with, I'll circle back and we'll find a time that's.
[00:33:47] Speaker A: Yeah, that sounds fun. That sounds very fun.
And I will work on getting you a laboratory.
What are your thoughts on using Chalice's old basement laboratory that held my bird, mother and other creatures and possibly you? I don't know. And I feel bad asking, which is,
[00:34:12] Speaker B: no, I wasn't there.
I wasn't there. He was staying at his old residence on campus. That's where he kept me.
Yeah, No, I mean, it's.
If it was his laboratory, it would be very well stocked and have exactly what I need for this.
[00:34:37] Speaker A: You can be like, no, thank you. I don't want to deal with anything more delicious than I have to. It's just the only one that comes to mind off the tip of my head. I'll find another one.
[00:34:45] Speaker B: No, I mean, that works. That works for me. And, you know, and for a brief period of time, I went and saw a therapist. They were very much talking about, like, exposure therapy, you know, to get over the traumatic things. And I. I would hope they're proud of me.
[00:35:04] Speaker A: I would imagine they have to be. You have done a lot of tremendous things, and you are still very.
You are doing very good work while under very stressful situations that I think is like the epitome of progress and in bravery.
[00:35:22] Speaker B: So thank you.
Just doing my best.
[00:35:29] Speaker A: Your best is very good.
And, you know, if.
If tis theories is useful to you, then of course you don't have to ever go there by yourself. Can I send someone with you? Brooke and Jar could go with you or. Or whomever you may want.
[00:35:46] Speaker B: I mean, you've. You've been there. I haven't actually ever been to his mansion before, so I wouldn't know where anything is.
[00:35:54] Speaker A: I mean, you just go down into the basement, and then there are this and all of its glory. I don't remember where we're at in the cleaning process on that one.
There were a lot of ghouls or a lot of ghouls.
[00:36:09] Speaker B: That makes sense.
[00:36:10] Speaker A: But, you know, we can prioritize that.
[00:36:14] Speaker B: I mean, it.
[00:36:17] Speaker A: Yeah, I'll add it to the list to deify.
[00:36:25] Speaker B: And I mean, hey, it's a it. There's more space for everyone, too.
[00:36:30] Speaker A: There is a lot of space in it. Yes. Yes. Though I think we are getting you and Rock. And maybe somebody has set up at the odd.
Which I think will be nice and, like, cozy, but not too cramped because this place is somehow getting Very cramped.
Not in, like, a bad way. Like, obviously, please stay and be working. That's just. I feel like there's too many of us and, like, gestures, vaguely.
[00:36:59] Speaker B: Well, we'll figure it out.
Maybe we have time and. Yeah, no, once. Once things are. Are clear and you just let me know and I'll.
I'll spend the next couple of weeks getting all of the reagents I need and then I should have a prototype.
[00:37:21] Speaker A: All right.
Yep. And I'm happy to help with the reagents and stuff as well.
Whatever you need up with, I will. I'm happy to help.
That is what I do.
[00:37:31] Speaker B: Yeah, of course. Yeah, I'll. I'll let you know.
[00:37:39] Speaker A: You are reading. I should go. Here's more reading material. Probably is more depressing. Leia told me nothing about it except for where it came from. So, you know, hopefully it's not a terrible surprise.
[00:37:52] Speaker C: And
[00:37:54] Speaker A: I'm gonna go make talisman, I guess. Goodbye.
[00:37:59] Speaker B: Have fun.
Suit a brain for a jump scare when some of these journals are about her kidnapping.
[00:38:08] Speaker A: Yeah. L did not tell me that so I could not warn her.
I was about to do it and then I'm like, nope, I don't know that.
[00:38:17] Speaker F: The classic miscommunication of le spreading.
[00:38:25] Speaker B: I mean, to be fair, you don't know exactly when
[00:38:30] Speaker A: was also true.
Talus 05:15am have successfully kidnapped a student. I'm feeling like a very good person now.
Clearly, I am so in the right about this.
[00:38:47] Speaker E: Would that be good or bad for the aversion therapy?
[00:38:54] Speaker A: Juniper has been put into a very weird version of therapy in the form of, hey, you're like the only person who can translate these kind of important books.
Good luck.
[00:39:10] Speaker F: We just give her real exposure therapy by just kidnapping her again.
[00:39:15] Speaker A: We kind of did consent again.
[00:39:23] Speaker B: Yeah.
And it's probably around that time. Where did you all let the let AOS and Sable know when you might attempt this? Or are you just waiting for them to show back up?
[00:39:44] Speaker A: Technically, we had to coordinate with them in the first. First place, didn't we?
[00:39:49] Speaker B: True.
[00:39:50] Speaker C: I mean, we could just be like,
[00:39:52] Speaker A: we got the stuff.
I think they were going to get in contact in a week anyway, so they're probably just going to show up.
[00:39:58] Speaker C: Yeah. I was like, there's no.
No way are we giving them the crown now and they haven't done our thing yet. No.
[00:40:05] Speaker A: Also good point.
[00:40:07] Speaker C: Yeah. No way I'm contacting them. Even if they were here, I'd say we don't have it yet. Like, no, no, no, no, no, no.
Bessie's didn't do our very easy thing. Compared to.
They're. They're not. No.
We probably have to hide our cr. The crown somewhere or whatever.
[00:40:27] Speaker B: You just put it in the smuggler sack.
[00:40:30] Speaker C: Oh yeah. We could just keep it on us the whole time
[00:40:35] Speaker B: and. Yeah, they will. You do all receive a message that in about a week's time, the distraction at Cold Iron will take place and.
Yeah.
[00:40:54] Speaker F: Wait, didn't we ask them to bust some people? Or do we just ask for the distraction? Please refresh me.
[00:41:02] Speaker A: We set up a distraction. They're doing the breakout.
The only person who of us who
[00:41:09] Speaker B: may be involved is Yuri, because Yuri knows what the people look like.
[00:41:14] Speaker C: And we also have an escape route for Yuri set up.
Yuri plus plus people we break out. It's. It's only Yuri going in though. The rest of us, we're out the escape route.
[00:41:26] Speaker A: Kind of.
[00:41:27] Speaker F: Yuri, if you get kidnapped again, I'm not saving you.
[00:41:30] Speaker A: This is a joke.
[00:41:31] Speaker F: I'm saving you.
[00:41:33] Speaker C: Yuri. On thin ice, right here.
Damn it.
[00:41:41] Speaker D: It's gonna. It's gonna be another week.
[00:41:51] Speaker B: Yeah, it's gonna be in about a week.
[00:41:56] Speaker D: So long.
[00:42:00] Speaker C: So happens when you have cults, you gotta make sure it's not on a Tuesday. And unfortunately, in Knox life, every day is a Tuesday. Because the sun isn't out.
[00:42:11] Speaker D: Elaborate.
[00:42:15] Speaker C: The sun's not out. Therefore timekeeping is technically obsolete. We have to invent new ways to do it.
[00:42:22] Speaker A: There's.
It's.
[00:42:24] Speaker B: There's still a sound that's just eclipsed.
[00:42:26] Speaker D: Why Tuesday?
[00:42:29] Speaker C: Tuesday is God's day.
[00:42:31] Speaker D: I thought that was Sunday,
[00:42:34] Speaker C: not a Knox light.
Stupid.
Stupid.
I mean, is this setting. Dumbass.
[00:42:47] Speaker E: To be fair, I think most of them are God's days.
[00:42:53] Speaker A: It's true.
[00:42:55] Speaker C: Technically, no Tuesdays.
No, they got. They got like Aubrey made fake days.
[00:43:03] Speaker B: They're real to me.
[00:43:04] Speaker D: God damn it.
[00:43:06] Speaker B: Real fake days?
[00:43:08] Speaker C: No, they're fake. They're make believe.
Everybody knows that.
I don't want to continue this bit. I'm bored of it already.
[00:43:20] Speaker D: We have a week to get everything
[00:43:24] Speaker B: set up, which means you'll have a another rebellion action before.
So you can set up other things with that as well.
[00:43:34] Speaker A: Did we summon the book yet?
[00:43:38] Speaker B: You have not. But you could. It's been about a day.
[00:43:42] Speaker A: I think we have to before it gets to be 24 hours.
Because my talisman breaks down.
[00:43:50] Speaker B: Well, yeah, then you can certainly do that before the talisman breaks and Leith, you summon the book.
[00:44:01] Speaker C: Sorry, yes, I summon the book.
[00:44:03] Speaker B: Yeah, and you're holding the very nice leather bound notebook with the name Valere on it.
[00:44:14] Speaker C: Wow.
[00:44:16] Speaker A: Historically would want to read through this first.
She is going to just give it over to Lou.
Yeah, I will probably.
I'll give Victoria the option to read it for first.
Or I can read it for him and warn him what's in there if he wants like trigger warnings because it's presumably all about him in a very negative way.
[00:44:50] Speaker B: It was kind of there when it was written.
[00:44:52] Speaker A: Oh, so he doesn't need to read it. He was part of it.
[00:44:56] Speaker B: He was the experiment.
[00:44:59] Speaker A: Was he?
So he probably doesn't want to read it because that's like re. Traumatizing just a little.
Hey.
[00:45:08] Speaker C: I mean maybe. Maybe just like.
Like when you're done reading, if you need like clarification questions then. But like also I just feel like you should just let them know. It'd be really weird to be like. Be like, wow, grandpa was tortured 54 different ways. How. What. What is this? What's a. What's. What's. What's the rack.
What's the scavenger's daughter? What was. Why was that? Oh my God.
[00:45:37] Speaker A: Like still gotta tell them anyway, just be like, hey, I flipped through the first few pages and it's.
It looks like you already know what is in here.
This looks like a. Like it was a bad time for you.
Just as a heads up that we have it.
Do you want us to not read it? It just seems important.
And also my partner went through a lot of trouble to bring it here against while breaking the rules without breaking the rules. But like don't let that influence your decision.
[00:46:14] Speaker B: Not it. It is very good and may help us at least understand what the holy blood has been doing and maybe find a way to counter what the holy blood has been doing.
I was there when it was written, but I didn't exactly read what Andreas findings were.
So if you have questions, I will do my best to answer them.
[00:46:45] Speaker A: I will endeavor not to.
[00:46:52] Speaker D: I think Yuri would.
[00:46:54] Speaker B: Could.
[00:46:55] Speaker D: Is it fine if I read through it?
[00:46:57] Speaker A: It's a family meeting. Come here.
[00:46:58] Speaker D: Yeah, I. I think Yuri was like, is it fine if I look through it? Since I.
[00:47:04] Speaker B: Of course.
[00:47:05] Speaker D: Yeah, I have.
I have concerns on my own curse after recent revelations between everyone.
[00:47:17] Speaker B: That's probably a good idea.
[00:47:20] Speaker A: And what are your feelings on people outside of us reading it? Like perhaps Juniper, I think this might be interesting to some of her current work.
[00:47:35] Speaker B: Has asked me some questions specifically about the curse and helping eloquence.
So yes, if you need feel free to share it with anyone you think might be able to help you with It.
[00:47:51] Speaker C: Oh.
[00:47:52] Speaker A: I didn't even tell either of you. I don't know why I forgot. Good news. We are basically just two steps away from Deborah defying my mother.
I think this is good news.
This is probably good news. This is good news.
[00:48:10] Speaker B: This feels like good news.
[00:48:11] Speaker A: Okay.
[00:48:12] Speaker D: Yeah, that's.
[00:48:13] Speaker A: I have weird feelings about it, so I'm not entirely sure. I'm good at telling if it is good news or neutral or bad.
[00:48:23] Speaker D: Juniper has been able to.
That's good.
[00:48:28] Speaker A: The materials and a laboratory. And I think we can give her taluses to work with. She said she would be comfortable doing so. We just might have to clear out some ghouls.
[00:48:37] Speaker D: Yeah, yeah, yeah, that's easy. I. I was planning to help out anyways once it was free time and I'm not in a cage of anxiety as we are all.
[00:48:48] Speaker A: Sure. Certainly. Of course.
Okay.
You know, this also feels like a good time to like run by you all.
What are your thoughts on like potentially perma birding the cultish members of the family and then unburding them once the whole entity world is averted?
[00:49:13] Speaker B: You are aware there will be very big birds.
[00:49:15] Speaker A: Oh, of course, of course. Obviously containment is necessary.
[00:49:21] Speaker D: Would that be how
[00:49:24] Speaker B: ex.
[00:49:26] Speaker D: Sorry. Could you explain how that would be helpful for me? I'm just. It feels dangerous to do that.
[00:49:33] Speaker A: They cannot enact evil plots or appeal to them if they are birds.
[00:49:39] Speaker D: But if you could communicate with your mother. Can't they just communicate with the bird?
[00:49:47] Speaker A: Right. However, they would also be disappeared. Birds.
[00:49:51] Speaker D: Where?
[00:49:53] Speaker A: The pit. I would assume, you know, the. That kind of kept.
[00:49:58] Speaker B: This mansion has cages for birds.
[00:50:02] Speaker A: Yeah. Or we could recreate the terrible thing. I'm. The reason I present this is mostly because I'm worried about like the ethical ramifications of such a thing. But also the alternative seems to be to kill them. I don't really want to kill my family. That feels bad to me personally.
I'm trying to find alternatives.
[00:50:20] Speaker E: Wouldn't they be easier to capture and hold if they're not giant birds
[00:50:27] Speaker B: suddenly walks into the room?
[00:50:31] Speaker A: Okay, you know what? Yeah, sure. We can have a group conversation now. I wasn't quite ready for that. But it's fine. I don't care.
[00:50:38] Speaker E: I d. Mous.
[00:50:41] Speaker A: Alistair, you need to that I can give some all at once and they are less able to coordinate with their allies if they are birds.
This feels theoretically. Theoretically? This is all very theoretical.
[00:51:00] Speaker D: It also feels like a very big gambit.
[00:51:05] Speaker A: Anything we do with them is a big gambit.
There is no small gambit. There are at Least three members of the family, probably more who are unbroken
[00:51:15] Speaker D: occultists and not to mention my mother as well.
[00:51:19] Speaker A: So that was one of the three
[00:51:21] Speaker D: and well, all their ties like who the hell knows what else that we don't know.
[00:51:28] Speaker A: I don't know if I can curse your mother, but I can try.
[00:51:35] Speaker D: I hope not.
I hope not actually, but I don't know. That's why I wanted to read that. I. So the.
[00:51:43] Speaker B: The thing,
[00:51:46] Speaker D: I don't necessarily think it is a bad idea because getting all these pieces off the board net positive because they are in our way.
However, we've seen just kind of waving the arm in our general Valere direction how dangerous the transformation could be.
[00:52:11] Speaker A: Well, my original plan was to turn the house into a giant vault trap using the. The. The sigil that kept Vitoria trap for many years and just do them all at once at a big invite them out to the house and. Or some sort of guys like I don't know, my birthday dinner or something like that. So they're all there Fe the ones that we know are cultists. The drink with the birdifying thing and then oops. They're also trapped in the sigil and the rest of them can go home. Obviously a modified version of the sigil that let the regular ones leave and us.
But that was the original plan. I don't. I haven't thought it through all the way. That was just top of the dome.
[00:52:51] Speaker D: So turning
[00:52:54] Speaker A: make it a birdhouse, you know.
But again, I don't know how this is very like a very moral idea. It feels like maybe it's a bad solution to the not killing my family plan, but I can't really think of a better one except for like go to queen map and be like, hey, by the way, could you like teleport my family to maybe for a while.
[00:53:16] Speaker D: That feels like you go bad very fast.
[00:53:19] Speaker A: That's what I. I don't have any good solutions. Okay. I'm trying to find the least bad
[00:53:23] Speaker B: solution, not give the evil fake queen who wants to study us more people to study.
[00:53:33] Speaker A: It was like not even my favorite plan.
[00:53:37] Speaker D: I think as far as morality goes, when we are trying to stop shattering apocalypse, we have to unfortunately weigh morals a bit lower if it's for succeeding.
[00:53:58] Speaker A: And it wouldn't be forever. It would just be until the world is not going to end anymore. And then we can, I don't know, do something else with them. Maybe they won't be like bird time was bad. We feel like we don't want to be evil anymore.
[00:54:13] Speaker D: I Don't think that will work.
[00:54:15] Speaker A: But it could. It worked for Graveling's brother. He is like not evil anymore.
[00:54:21] Speaker D: Let's not. Let's not get too ahead of that.
Well, we should see if the.
The not bird solution works first before going forward with this plan. It's an idea to have in progress.
[00:54:50] Speaker B: I mean, the sigil is not a bad idea.
[00:54:56] Speaker D: I mean, the only people that would be open it are in this room. So
[00:55:02] Speaker A: do you think it is modifiable so that it would only capture if we tied it, for example, to the unbroken necklace?
[00:55:14] Speaker B: Theoretically, I would have to dive in and do some more research in the ritual.
But theoretically you might be able to change it to an item.
Currently it is bound to blood.
[00:55:34] Speaker A: And we would know that they would all be warm one because you have to drunk this. And that way we would only get unbroken members of the family and not the others. Which would save me having to go to lunch with them every other week, which is very hard.
They're not interested.
Only two of them want to have lunch with me.
It's depressing.
[00:55:57] Speaker D: Well, they're all in the cold.
[00:56:00] Speaker A: I don't know all of them. Peregrine, I don't think is when I have a lunch with her very soon. And I'm going to find out if she is.
I don't think so. Though. I feel I have a very good feeling about Paragon. I. I think Barag is fine and normal. Like a spy, but like not an evil one.
[00:56:20] Speaker D: Yes. Find a normal and a spy. Words that go together in a normal sentence.
[00:56:31] Speaker A: Have some sort of.
[00:56:35] Speaker D: You're right. You're right though.
Let's. Let's keep that in mind. We could get started after we turn your mom back into a person Humanoid.
[00:56:54] Speaker B: Not a large bird.
[00:56:56] Speaker D: Not a large bird would have been.
[00:57:00] Speaker A: I don't know why you hesitated.
[00:57:02] Speaker D: I'm very tired.
[00:57:07] Speaker B: This. And you both realize that Vittorio is wearing a very nice waistcoat. And I love that
[00:57:16] Speaker A: Lou just makes that little noise and that's it.
[00:57:20] Speaker B: I.
[00:57:22] Speaker D: I think this. Like this is like the time and maybe like. I don't know, say there's like a clock, like grandfather clock in the house that rings. It's a new hour and just.
Well, I believe you look like you are going somewhere, Victorio.
[00:57:42] Speaker B: Oh, yes.
I.
I asked craving to dinner.
[00:57:52] Speaker A: Oh.
And I see she said yes. Or did you find another date?
[00:58:02] Speaker B: No, she. She said yes.
[00:58:06] Speaker D: I'm glad you are having a good time, Victoria.
You've been in a cell for a long time.
[00:58:18] Speaker B: Yes.
Feels good to get out of there again and feel alive.
[00:58:28] Speaker A: No.
No judgment. And this is fully just so you're aware because you have been in the vault.
Just as an FYI, graveling is like Yori's age.
You can do what you want. I just want you to know.
[00:58:50] Speaker B: Yes. And it's really hard to.
It's hard to count aging when you've been stuck in a vault for so long. You're right.
[00:59:06] Speaker D: She's very immature for her age.
[00:59:08] Speaker A: And you still. You know the other people who are like, as old as you, they look decrepit. We saw Andreas Ravens. What? That man looks old. You still look. You still got that grandpa. Oh, I don't like single. Okay. You still got this.
[00:59:19] Speaker D: We're gonna go. You could go do.
You could go to dinner.
We're gonna. I'm gonna go read this book.
[00:59:33] Speaker B: Dead interested. Joy?
It's hard to say.
[00:59:39] Speaker D: I'm just leaving.
[00:59:40] Speaker B: Have a good night.
[00:59:42] Speaker A: You know what? Meeting adjourned. Bye, everyone.
[00:59:45] Speaker C: And y' all run into me who tried not to eavesdrop. And then I tried to walk somewhere else and then I walked in a circle and I'm in a nice clothes. I was like, oh, bye.
Hi.
[00:59:57] Speaker A: Project is waiting in there.
[00:59:59] Speaker B: You look very nice.
[01:00:01] Speaker D: Bye.
[01:00:03] Speaker A: It looks very good on you.
[01:00:06] Speaker C: It would appear that I have a whole wardrobe that I've never seen before.
[01:00:09] Speaker A: So you have to try them out.
I expect to see a new one every day.
[01:00:16] Speaker C: You might actually. I'll show you later.
[01:00:19] Speaker A: A pop of color is very good on you. You should do it more often. Bye.
[01:00:26] Speaker C: Griffing. Like, this is weird.
It's possibly got weirder.
[01:00:37] Speaker B: Him just, you know, Guitari was just sort of standing in the middle of this room wearing his nice waistcoat and shirt and all that and just sees you. And there's a moment where it's just like. Do you watch his brain reboot for a second?
Do look stunning.
[01:01:00] Speaker C: And
[01:01:03] Speaker F: thank you.
[01:01:05] Speaker A: I
[01:01:07] Speaker C: kind of like how fluffy this is.
I don't know how.
I think I can kick pretty good. But I'm not going to do that right now because I'm wearing something nice.
But I think I could do it.
[01:01:22] Speaker B: I'm sure you're good.
This so good. This. This. We should.
Should go.
[01:01:33] Speaker A: Okay.
[01:01:34] Speaker B: There's a small little place in Dark Light Bazaar that seafood that. You don't have any problems with seafood?
[01:01:45] Speaker C: No, none. Non at all. Actually.
More meat of any kind the better.
[01:01:54] Speaker B: This found that seafood is safe for me.
I just have to stay away from red meat and then I'm fine.
[01:02:09] Speaker C: Why you have to stay away from red meat. I know that Yuri. Is it just unpleasant because the curse,
[01:02:19] Speaker B: it doesn't like it.
[01:02:25] Speaker C: Oh, okay. That makes sense.
[01:02:26] Speaker B: This is the best way to describe it. It makes it angry.
[01:02:32] Speaker C: Okay.
[01:02:33] Speaker A: Okay.
[01:02:34] Speaker C: No, Red needs
[01:02:37] Speaker B: this kind of gives you his arm.
[01:02:43] Speaker C: So graveling has seen what you're supposed to do with it.
But the urge to just go, like just smack it is very. I think you see her go for it and then she like pulls all the way back and then loops it properly just like. That's a reflex. I'm sorry.
[01:03:10] Speaker B: It's okay with her.
I wouldn't say this is new to me, but I'm very rusty at it after the past 75 years.
[01:03:26] Speaker C: Well, that's fine. I won't know any better and you can mess up and I.
And I'll just think it's normal.
[01:03:38] Speaker B: It is now, Vittoria. Very self conscious.
[01:03:45] Speaker C: I'm gonna let him lead because I don't know where the we're going.
But like, I'm only a little bit conscious because it would appear that everybody that we live with is also like now gonna be our neighbor. And I'm like, oh, the tower can see me, the other manor can see me. The Terox shop's definitely gonna see me. My family's not there yet because it's not ready. But like, you know, I was like, oh, no, this is. I'm not used to this yet.
[01:04:16] Speaker B: Yep. No. And eventually we'll, you know, takes a few minutes. There is a sort of this small almost hole in the wall restaurant near the river in Darklight Bazaar and Homey and you both find are seated and given food. It's sort of like one of those places where it's like there really isn't like a menu so they just bring you courses of food. And it's like, this is what we're serving tonight.
[01:04:55] Speaker C: I think it's fancy as fuck.
[01:04:58] Speaker B: Yeah.
[01:04:59] Speaker C: My. Yeah, my. My definition of eating out is.
[01:05:02] Speaker A: Was.
[01:05:04] Speaker C: Was quite literally dials former workplace with my whole family sometimes or wherever. Whatever shitty hole in the wall that whiskey would take me to.
And it's like, it's. It's like, it's. It's like where like hygiene is like 50 assured. Like that kind of hole in the wall. We're just like, okay. Like I don't call nice places.
So I think this is very fancy.
[01:05:35] Speaker B: Yeah. And Victoria, Will.
Wants to keep the mood light for this at least first dinner.
So he doesn't like get into things about being like, yes, my dead family.
[01:06:00] Speaker C: You know what?
[01:06:00] Speaker F: That.
[01:06:01] Speaker C: That actually like Unless that bothers him. That actually might make Grapevig more comfortable.
I mean, she's one of.
[01:06:09] Speaker B: It's.
[01:06:11] Speaker C: She's like kind of one of those people where it's like, unfortunately, if you ask her what her hobbies are, it's babysitting.
I mean, so it's.
[01:06:19] Speaker B: It's more of.
[01:06:19] Speaker A: He's just.
[01:06:20] Speaker B: He's been. He. It was instilled in him that, like, you shouldn't talk about uncomfortable things on, like, the first date. And then if you. If you go into. Into it, he will relax and loosen up.
[01:06:35] Speaker C: Don't take this the wrong way. What was your wife like?
[01:06:40] Speaker B: There's a. There's a moment where he goes, she was amazing and a. Still cherish the time that we had together. And I felt bad that I dragged her into this family that I cursed.
[01:07:04] Speaker C: I mean, I don't know.
I don't know what she was like, but. Did she fully tell you this is your fault?
This wasn't in our vows.
[01:07:17] Speaker B: Not in so many words, but he pretty. Pretty much ruined any good name that the Valer family had.
[01:07:31] Speaker C: I guess that would suck
[01:07:36] Speaker B: then. I had a lot of time to think about it, But the years we had were very good.
Before the bird thing.
[01:07:51] Speaker C: Is all of the bird thing, like, genuinely this bad?
[01:07:58] Speaker B: No, I.
Over.
Over time, I've come to understand it and live with it.
I don't mind it, truly, and it has served me well.
But I would like to give my family a choice.
I know some of them don't deal with it as well as others, so if they could have that choice that I took from them.
[01:08:31] Speaker C: Yeah, that's pretty fair. Would be good for them to choose me. Personally, I kind of like the birds.
Yes. I'm a big fan of the birds, actually. I just think they look cool. But also, it's nice to not feel like a freak here.
I'm a giant snake.
[01:08:55] Speaker B: I can be a giant bird, too.
[01:08:59] Speaker C: I figured you could also. I like that you guys keep your colors or you get new ones.
Like, Luz is like a big pink bird. That's crazy. I love it.
She's not a fan of it, but I don't mind it.
[01:09:19] Speaker B: There is some beauty to it after you. One adjusts and understands.
And I don't want to say control, but once you get in touch with the bird or the stag, it becomes easier to control.
Learning how to coexist with it.
[01:09:51] Speaker C: Actually. Have you ever seen anyone else or do you know anyone else who has a stag? Because I. I didn't want to ask Yuri. At first, I thought, oh, maybe everybody just has a different animal that they connect with. But that would appear not.
[01:10:07] Speaker B: I had not. But someone could have been trying to replicate my research. I choose the bird. When I was doing research and I had my wife kept pet birds.
[01:10:28] Speaker C: Did you take one of the birds that your wife kept?
[01:10:32] Speaker B: No, I didn't. I didn't do that.
[01:10:34] Speaker C: But I was gonna be like, I was about to understand why she was so mad, like, times 10.
[01:10:41] Speaker B: I didn't do it, but I was inspired by the birds. When I was developing the spell, my idea was to give people light and natural weapons to help the.
What eventually became the Holy Blood.
[01:11:05] Speaker C: That's right.
Your stuff was for the holy.
You made a name for yourself.
[01:11:15] Speaker B: They certainly did.
I.
Back then, they were just very devoted to the star, mother, and other gods, and barely more than LAMP letters are now just.
[01:11:35] Speaker C: Yeah, they're kind of garbage now.
[01:11:38] Speaker B: They. They certainly aren't. And what Gor and the others have done to them.
[01:11:48] Speaker C: Look, I knew. I knew most of the ship wasn't up to code.
Basically, we got confirmation of that verbally through some eavesdropping. Yesterday.
Not yesterday.
How long was I asleep? A few days ago.
[01:12:07] Speaker B: Two days ago?
[01:12:09] Speaker C: Yeah, but I don't know. I mean, I used to think that they were all. And just generally bad at worship.
I don't know. I.
You get older and you realize, okay, well, maybe not everybody is the same, and I should stop generalizing.
Oh, it's so easy to just generalize and not care. You know, it's so true.
[01:12:42] Speaker B: I understand that.
Unfortunately, the people who wanted do good were kind of overruled by the people
[01:12:55] Speaker C: who
[01:12:57] Speaker B: became powder hungry.
[01:13:02] Speaker C: Well, I find that a lot of people who want to do good don't actually have, like, the backbone to do it, but when they're shown how to do it, they figure it out,
[01:13:22] Speaker A: so
[01:13:22] Speaker B: I can agree with you on that one.
[01:13:27] Speaker C: I'm hoping we can lead by example. I'm not 100% sure what we're even doing anymore.
We as an anathema.
[01:13:40] Speaker B: Yeah. That is understandable. There's certainly a lot going on and the approaching deadline.
What does the world look like when you stop this deadline?
[01:13:57] Speaker C: It's not even that I'm kind of.
I'm not worried about taking those bitches on quite literally. I'm worried about what we leave afterwards.
Octavia kind of put it in my head, or maybe it was already there, and I just needed to hear it out loud. But we are full. Disrespectfully. I wouldn't trust any form of government in our hands.
[01:14:29] Speaker B: And this is something to think about usually the.
It always seems weird to say, but the people do want to. Running a government are the people who don't want to run a government.
[01:14:46] Speaker C: I would be the least qualified for that. You know, can't read or write, but I have a mouth and I don't speak pretty words. But I'm deeply worried about a riot.
Like, I'm talking citywide.
And while I don't like most of you noble fucks, I know that I have more control than most people in my situation.
Wouldn't want to.
Community justice needs to be governed by a proper community. And Malachi does not have any of those.
[01:15:43] Speaker B: And certainly agree with that.
I think it is. It's a good question to consider. It's.
Especially if the current form of government isn't working. Like, what do you do instead?
[01:16:01] Speaker C: Way above my head. But it's all I can think about right now.
[01:16:05] Speaker B: No, maybe I understand.
[01:16:08] Speaker C: I mean, maybe I'm ironically. And this sounds very biased. I would trust Lorelei to run the row.
I would trust Lorei to run most places, actually.
[01:16:25] Speaker B: Yes, this is very capable.
[01:16:29] Speaker A: Yeah.
[01:16:29] Speaker C: But then you go past. You go past the bridge and then I'm not sure anymore. And that's not me being facetious to her. It's more. So I just. It's more complicated on the other side.
No, and when I say complicated, I mean.
Yeah, I mean. I mean the classified.
[01:16:50] Speaker B: No, that is it. It always was. Even in my day.
[01:16:58] Speaker C: I brought the mood of this day down. I'm sorry.
[01:17:01] Speaker B: It's okay.
This is an important question to ask. And.
I don't know if any of the families that I knew would ever talk to me again. But I knew families that wanted to do better.
Who many of them had through inventions or arts or something, risen out of poverty and wanted to help others do the same.
And I don't know if any of those families still exist.
And if they did, if they would talk to me and maybe
[01:17:59] Speaker C: I mean something that we could bring up.
Do you got any names?
I've worked in a lot of houses to steal a lot of secrets.
[01:18:10] Speaker B: I can certainly go through my memory and see if I can remember.
See if I can go through any kind of registries and see who is still out there.
Luckily, there were a lot of elves. So unless they were stupid, they should still be alive.
[01:18:37] Speaker C: So you do have friends still.
[01:18:42] Speaker B: One can certainly help.
One could certainly hope. My reputation wasn't that ruined.
It probably was very ruined.
But I do know that the holy blood has enemies. And if they haven't been wiped out in the last 75 years, it might be worth reaching out.
[01:19:07] Speaker C: And then the food comes. I go, what is that?
And we can, like.
[01:19:12] Speaker A: We can move on.
[01:19:14] Speaker B: Yeah. No, that's. You.
[01:19:16] Speaker C: I'm sorry it took so long.
[01:19:19] Speaker B: You're good. And I think that's. It's also a really great seed to add on of grieving Invatorio, eating.
Eating dinner and enjoying themselves and having the intense conversations, but also having the fun conversations.
[01:19:36] Speaker F: Damn, what a great first date.
[01:19:40] Speaker C: She don't know how to do this show. You. We gotta talk about work all the time while other things show up.
[01:19:48] Speaker F: Stop being relatable on my own Discord server.
Anyways, thank you, everyone, for listening to the most romantic episode of Goblets and Gays. If you like what we do here, feel free to follow us on Instagram, on Blue sky, on Patreon. Honestly, just saying that was worth it for the face that I saw off the bay.
[01:20:06] Speaker B: If you can support Proposal in season one.
[01:20:10] Speaker C: We've had season one was so deeply romantic.
[01:20:15] Speaker F: Honestly, I just like making you guys do funny facial reactions. It's like a. It's like a funny little bit. But give us some support if you can. If you can't, give us some positive Discord comments, maybe you can hate on me just as much as the rest of the cast does.
And remember, stay safe, don't cannibalize your date, and have a great night.
[01:20:34] Speaker B: Did realize there was a danger of doing that.
[01:20:37] Speaker F: Hey, I'm just saying, snakes eat birds
[01:20:38] Speaker B: all the time to.
Sa.
