[00:03:14] Speaker F: Faris memory all along in the strike had a memory of her childhood killing her personal cleric. Don't worry about it. It wasn't on purpose, but like, kind of like it was a, you know, don't worry about it. Anyway, and then we had other everybody. It was memory time. Everybody had memories. Curio learn some memories about the Order of Splendor secret sect with some titles involved, like the Glorious and the Grandeur. If you're in that sect, you probably have one of those titles. Hopefully that doesn't become pertinent in a minute. Cora hid their eye color because of the creepy cat eye making eye contact with Korra and knowing Korra secrets presumably hasn't said anything, just stares. Joe thinks that he did what he was made to do. Also remember something about Project Second Soul. Probably not a problem. Tic Tac came to the tender flesh on purpose, realized came here to restore [00:04:29] Speaker C: their lost title [00:04:33] Speaker F: I. Who could say whether that worked out or not? I feel like probably not. Anyway, we've made to a ship. We meet all the crew on the ship and they take us to their their camp, their city, their town. The place that they live. Currently, there are still some more memories to be had. If you want more memories. That's what the episode's for, though. We're not doing that. This is a recap, but, yeah, we have a little sit down in a lovely hot spring. And Shrike also has one last memory that is pertinent for last time. Which is. Oh, she has a name. Her name is Kiara, Champion of grandeur. Hopefully that's not the same grandeur as that sect. Anyway, that's what happened last time. [00:05:24] Speaker A: Compy, you are soaring faster than you can ever remember. There is a rush of wind wholly surrounded by blues so deep and serene, so bright and effervescent, it makes your eyes teary. But you don't need eyes to know that you have been bound by something. And it holds you very tightly in its talons in a grip that refuses to let you go. And suddenly, almost as sudden as the wind, you feel the tension, the pull. You are propelled backwards with such an intensity you have not experienced before. The pull is rough, but the talon's grip never falters. You're still bound. And then you begin to see another color. Brown wood. Lots of wood. And then soon a face with very bright eyes looking directly into yours. It pokes you. Do you do anything? [00:06:58] Speaker F: A wiggle. [00:07:00] Speaker A: You wiggle like you might. [00:07:03] Speaker F: Like a snake would wiggle if you were to poke it. [00:07:06] Speaker D: Mm, [00:07:08] Speaker A: still alive. It pulls on you a little bit, not more so. Trying to see, like, where are you? Do you do anything? [00:07:26] Speaker F: Is this a voice that I seen [00:07:30] Speaker A: before or know in this memory, though? [00:07:38] Speaker F: I think try to wriggle away. [00:07:43] Speaker A: You're moving, but this grip that you. You. This grip is tight. And you realize that this other creature has managed to wiggle its own fleshy appendage into the grip. So you feel the pressure from that now as well. Kind of pushed against your belly and your arms. And it says, oh, and you're still holding on to your dinner. And she looks. She looks. [00:08:19] Speaker C: She looks. [00:08:19] Speaker A: She's massive compared to you. [00:08:23] Speaker G: And goes, [00:08:26] Speaker A: I like YouTube. And with just a snap, she kind of pulls the talons back and you're able to wiggle out. [00:08:40] Speaker F: I will very rapidly do so and then sort of draw back. Not. Not hissing, but, like, ready. Like in a stance, ready. [00:08:53] Speaker A: Do you do anything to indicate that you are ready? You said you hiss, but does anything else happen? Do you have any other indicators of fear or anger or. [00:09:15] Speaker F: I don't think he is afraid or angry. I think he's cautious. But also being brash and Audacious has often served him well. And so until he has a better measure of who is here and what is going on, he's just ready to bite as deep or perhaps fly away or perhaps do something flashy. Whatever the situation seems to call for in the moment [00:09:57] Speaker A: as you do that, you can get a better look at this person, though in this memory you fear as if. As if it's trying to block parts out. The sunlight covers most of this person's features. Almost kind of like a perfectly placed censorship in a show or a movie that sometimes happens. And so what you can see is where the sense skin is, where the skin meets another texture that you are not privy to just yet. Skin to scale to something else. You can kind of see that measurement. It's. It's not all scale the same way that it's not all skin. It's almost like it dances together really nicely. And then the other thing is just there they are holding what you instinctively understand is a very large bird by its very dead neck. Sort of like, not like in a sense like, oh, they've choked the bird or anything. This bird was struck by a very large arrow. And so she's holding this bird and she's kind of pulling the arrow out and she goes, do you want to follow me? You seem a lot more. She thinks, and she thinks, and then slowly puts a hand out. See, I'm not gonna hurt you. [00:11:53] Speaker F: Well, I only have your word on it, don't I? [00:11:57] Speaker A: Oh, you talk. You talked. [00:11:59] Speaker F: Okay, I certainly did. [00:12:02] Speaker A: Oh, wow. [00:12:03] Speaker E: Hi. [00:12:04] Speaker A: Hi there. [00:12:06] Speaker F: Yes, hello. It is a pleasure to meet you. And I take it you are to think for the rescue. [00:12:14] Speaker A: Yeah, I didn't see you. Good thing. I. I'm a good shot, but I won't eat you. Kind of gives you a thumbs up with. With the free, free hand. She's still holding on to this very dead bird, though, which it comes to you. This is like a falcon or a hawk or something, like a large hunting bird that you are sort of familiar with. These birds come for you often because you're much smaller and it's just natural and in nature. And this one might have just found you for a second. [00:13:04] Speaker F: I appreciate being off of your menu. One never knows. People have varied tastes and mistake small beings as edible purely because we are small. I'm not. I'm not edible at all. I'm not even edible to the birds. [00:13:23] Speaker A: They just bad letters. That is very true. I'm going to go inside. Do you want to come inside? [00:13:32] Speaker F: Oh, certainly. And will give a little Bow and introduce himself. But I feel like probably the memory censors that out as well. [00:13:44] Speaker A: Yeah, you go like my name is. And she goes, oh, well, I guess my name is Chantel. You can call me that. [00:14:01] Speaker F: It is wonderful to meet you, Chantao. And I appreciate your assistance very much. [00:14:09] Speaker A: You're welcome. Would you like to. How fast are you? Do you wanna climb aboard? And she's like offering her hand to you, like you. For you to climb up on her shoulder or wherever you want to get situated. [00:14:36] Speaker F: If it wouldn't be impolite. I'm a little flustered after the. The imminent capture. And I think the wings are a little tense at the moment. But if it is no trouble, I would appreciate the lift. [00:14:52] Speaker A: No trouble at all. You're just gonna have to hide behind my hair a little bit. Is that okay? [00:14:58] Speaker F: Oh, are we doing a covert in exploration? [00:15:05] Speaker A: Sort of. We have some brutes on this ship. [00:15:09] Speaker F: I see. [00:15:10] Speaker A: Yeah. I don't want them to mistake you for food either. [00:15:14] Speaker F: Well, have no fear. I will fend them off if I must. [00:15:20] Speaker A: I'm sure you will. And as you kind of scurry up, you can notice that while the rest of her skin is a mixture of very smooth to honestly smoother scales, her hands are very rough, very worn and perfumed. Doomed. Sort of like as if. Just hide it almost in a way. And she will indicate where you can go on her. So that means like the shoulder, neck area. And so she can hide her very. She can hide you with her very long hair in. In such a way. And then she goes inside this cave. It's not really a cave. It's not any cave that you can remembered. It certainly doesn't smell like one. But this structure is very dark inside. Very few lights ex. Even fewer windows. She seems to see just fine. You probably can see relatively fine. But it is. It's quite different in here. People, creatures, things. They're sleeping stacked up on these. You don't know what they are actually on, but they're sleeping in such a way where some of them are hanging, some of them are just on the floor. It's so packed in here with too many people. Despite the space seeing extremely large to yourself. And she walks in, she walks over bodies. She kicks one guy to move, just to straight up move. Okay, okay. Sort of like Snorlax is in the way. But instead of playing a flute, she just fully fucking kicks a guy and he gets the idea and rolls over so she can move in further, deeper and deeper until you reach this small hovel. Of a room where another figure sits wrapped around more textures you're genuinely not familiar. Familiar with at all. And they look up and they squint at her, noticing you immediately, probably the only person else who. Who can. And Chantao kind of waves the bird around to get their attention. And this much taller, wavy figure, just by sitting, is almost her size, Chantao size. And she says, ryuji, can you bring this one back? And the figure known as Ryuji goes, you didn't bring dinner? I mean, I thought I did, but then I found this guy, and then I found this bird, and I like her spirit. Spirit action. [00:18:20] Speaker E: They. [00:18:20] Speaker A: They don't feed us here. Spirit. Hi. Yeah, this is a hunting bird. Okay. We can bring her back. She can hunt for us. She brings us food. We eat. Do you see the picture? This guy kind of leans all the way back, leans forward and starts and pulls out this long thing and starts. Smoke starts coming out of it, and then starts coming out of them. And what is that? And they are pointing directly at you. [00:19:03] Speaker F: I'm going to glance at Chintao to, like, make sure this is okay. And then if she, like, gives an indication that, yeah, it's a go ahead to speak. We're not, like, hiding anything else like that. We'll forge ahead with another happy introduction, another little bow. [00:19:24] Speaker A: Whereas the censorship before, with sunlight, it is. It is darkness now. But you can make out this lovely smile. Not practice, rather genuine smile. And that is your indicator to do what you want. [00:19:46] Speaker F: Yeah. Then I'll go forth with the introduction and then see what happens. I guess we'll probably also be like, since they asked, what is that? We'll say who I am, and then follow that up with, and I am a dragonet, if you please, and perhaps even if you don't respectfully. [00:20:12] Speaker A: Chantao raises her eyebrows at dragon it. And so does this Ryuji fellow, which he kind of not. He, like, sits back properly nods and goes, okay, and can you. What can you do? [00:20:34] Speaker F: Oh, would you love a demonstration with my lady's permission? [00:20:41] Speaker A: Permission granted. See, a gentleman, unlike you, fucker. Ryuji just kind of blows smoke at her. [00:20:52] Speaker F: Kanbi is, like, blushing in a dragon way. Just like the scales around his cheeks, like, glow a little bit with, like, the little bioluminescence he has going on. And he's going to do a very fancy somersault off of Twintell's shoulder into flight, and then do, like, a little barrel roll into a figure eight, go up to the top of the ceiling, and then swoop down and breathe out. Hang on, let Me Double check what? Their breath weapon is not directed at anyone, mind you. Just, like, in the air. Breath weapon is. [00:21:36] Speaker A: Brushes. [00:21:37] Speaker B: There we go. [00:21:39] Speaker F: Euphoric gas. [00:21:43] Speaker A: It probably comes out as a color. [00:21:45] Speaker F: Yeah, I think it comes out in, like, this shimmery, glittery, like, teal blue like the rest of him. And it just catches. Even though there's not a lot of light in here. It's, like, internally lit, and so it seems to, like, glow from the inside, and then it just sort of disperses into the air. [00:22:09] Speaker A: So does your breath weapon, like, does it actually do anything? [00:22:14] Speaker F: Yeah, it does. It can stupefy you. [00:22:17] Speaker G: Okay. [00:22:17] Speaker A: Okay. [00:22:17] Speaker G: Okay. [00:22:18] Speaker A: I think so. As you breathe in your breath weapon, you will notice that the. The wavy figure, Ryuji will. Who is also rather, like, censored properly by the shadows in this memory. But you do understand their body language. You see them get. They don't ever, like, get up from this strange seated position that they're kind of in, but they, like, move in, lean in close, and kind of take a breath of your breath weapon, in a sense, and they shake off whatever effects that it had. But they nod, like, in an understanding kind of way and go, okay, wait a minute. Okay, this can work. Yeah, this could work. Okay. And Chantel goes, okay. And then he thinks for a moment and goes, do you think we can get other birds, too? Chantel, kind of, who's also, like, mimicking this. This, like, thinking position that they're in, which genuinely looks like the thinking emoji. I mean, we could get more, right? Get more birds, hunt for ourselves, feed more of us. Build that loyalty up. And Ruigi's kind of nodding on everything. Every point that she's making, you get the sense that these two are close. [00:23:56] Speaker C: And [00:23:59] Speaker A: just, like, roll a D100 for me. [00:24:02] Speaker F: Oh, right. That is a 77 [00:24:12] Speaker A: in a way. It's as if your memory is trying to push back, to see more, to force your eyes, in this moment, to readjust to the darkness. Both Chun Tao and Ryu do. While you can't make out their faces, you do realize they both have very long tails. You see, Ryuji, take this, the corpse of the large hunting bird. And with a serrated knife, they just start cutting it open. They pull it apart, they look for [00:24:50] Speaker F: the heart, [00:24:53] Speaker A: and they begin to say an incantation. And a part of you doesn't. You understand that in this memory, you have no idea what this magic is, but it's as if you remembering it, it's trying to fill in the gaps. You know this as necromancy. The heart starts beating. You watch it essentially get life breathed back into it, and then the whole body closes back up, sealing itself in this wound. And this bird has a very noticeable, like, autopsy almost scar that runs down from its throat to its. To its breast. And then it just twitches, flaps its wings back to unlife. Trenta will kind of squat to get on your level, sort of, but you're, you're very tiny and she's much bigger than you. And she'll look at you, you know she's looking at you. [00:26:01] Speaker F: Yeah. [00:26:01] Speaker A: You want in, little guy? Oh, oh. If you're fluttering up, are you like, maintaining a hover? [00:26:08] Speaker F: As much as I can. [00:26:11] Speaker A: She'll. Okay, she will offer her. Her hands to like for you to perch on. [00:26:15] Speaker F: Then, yeah, I'll purge [00:26:19] Speaker A: you see what we can do. You want in, little guy? [00:26:24] Speaker F: What is, what are we getting into? [00:26:30] Speaker A: Well, first we're trying to eat. Not the, not, not the bird, not you, but eat in general. And then we want to feed more of us. And then we want to overthrow some pirates. [00:26:45] Speaker F: Oh, I was pretty on board with the first two goals because they seem quite noble. And the third one just sounds fun. [00:26:55] Speaker A: Nice. [00:26:56] Speaker F: Love to assist. [00:27:00] Speaker A: And without your memory, memory fades out at some point. You've taken a good long nap in this really nice hot spring. You feel refreshed in a way. And we're back into the present with the rest of y'. [00:27:20] Speaker B: All. [00:27:22] Speaker A: It has been a full hour, so you should be able to heal up. Excuse me, you should be able to heal, heal up. The 10d8 hit points. You do feel refreshed. If you had any fatigued conditions, you can get rid of that. However, the only thing I will say, even after, if you choose to like, rest for the rest of the day, you will not be getting rid of any doomed condition. And it does not go down. Okay, good to know. It's still well in the day as well. So if you, you, you have essentially you are, you have free time today. The, the, the. These Seeker elders, not Seeker, sorry, the Speaker Elders will not see you until essentially dinner time. And I would say this is like early mid afternoon. So you have some free time [00:28:27] Speaker F: like contained in like a quarantine. [00:28:33] Speaker A: So you do have the, you do have what you can consider are like guards or security kind of watching you. But it's very minimal in the sense that if you decide to leave the tent, somebody will escort you further into the, into the camp. So that way you just don't get lost. They do tell you that they have to keep an eye on you because [00:29:01] Speaker F: of the tender flesh of the tender. [00:29:03] Speaker A: Exactly. [00:29:03] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:29:03] Speaker A: You're. They're not withholding much information for you, except if you try to get information about the crash specifically. These people clearly do not know. It's not privy to them. They were not there. They were not assigned to help you, like, to help rescue you or anything like that. They're just here to make sure that you guys are okay. Hey, if you need more healing, a healer is provided. If you need clothes, they're willing to share. It's not the fanciest clothes, you know, but they're willing to give you something new to wear, something fresh to wear. They are basically taking care of you as survivors of, like, a natural disaster or in this case, a freak accident. So they're only able to give you so much and help you so much. However, you will be refused regular food and water. You can press for answers if you wish. They look a little uncomfortable to explain it, though. It's more like they. They're like. They would prefer if the. [00:30:06] Speaker F: The. [00:30:07] Speaker A: The elders come and explain it to you a little bit more. You can press them, though. It would just take a roll, I. [00:30:16] Speaker D: I think for Jason. But you want to press them? [00:30:19] Speaker B: I was gonna press, but if you wanted to press, then you could do that also. [00:30:23] Speaker D: No, I actually wasn't going to press because if it's going to be explained to us later, might as well just get it explained to us later. [00:30:31] Speaker B: Yeah, I think Cora will press in a way that comes off as sort of charming, but obligation. [00:30:42] Speaker A: Okay. I would say that could be like a diplomacy role then. Unless you are using a spell or something. Or you can also argue another role in your favor if you wish. [00:30:55] Speaker B: No, diplomacy is Good. That is a 34 diplomacy. [00:31:08] Speaker F: Okay. [00:31:09] Speaker A: You press this young woman who kind of helps, like, she was one of the. The people who helped cast the spell for the bath. So she is here to help maintain it and whatnot. And you press her, and she. She looks uncomfortable and is almost trying to think of ways to explain it to you that won't hurt your feelings that much. Like, you can kind of tell. And she says, well, you cannot eat [00:31:49] Speaker F: because [00:31:51] Speaker A: the creature won't let you eat right now if you. If you consumed her. [00:32:07] Speaker B: You mean that if we try, it won't work. [00:32:14] Speaker A: I don't want to alarm you, but sometimes people have a visceral reaction to food and drink after being in her. We call it the womb. It's not a real womb, but, you know, the cavern system. She poisons the brain tenders tenderizes your flesh, you know, hence the name. So you might have a not good reaction to food and drink for a while, and it's. It's not your fault. And to purge you, I've heard, is going to hurt. And, you know, we apologize for that. [00:33:10] Speaker F: It's. [00:33:11] Speaker A: It's. It's why we have. It's why the Elders do it. They know how to explain this a lot better and help you a lot better. I'm sorry. She's, like, kind of. She's making faces like. Like she's not doing a good job trying to hide. How is she uncomfortable? Yeah, she's uncomfortable at making you feel potentially panicked. You may panic if you wish, though, [00:33:52] Speaker E: at the words tenderizes the flesh. I kind of poke myself in the arm to see if I'm more squishy than normal. [00:34:07] Speaker A: You want to make a perception roll? [00:34:13] Speaker D: Yes, I do. [00:34:14] Speaker A: She's not necessarily being quiet. You guys are in an enclosed space. I think that Korra is less worried about whatever it is that this thing did because the Elders can fix it, and more worried about, [00:35:00] Speaker A: just more sort [00:35:01] Speaker B: of grossed out by the implication of what this person is saying. Like, if we try to eat, it will be bad. [00:35:13] Speaker A: Anyone else? [00:35:13] Speaker G: Are we. [00:35:14] Speaker A: Or is everybody else minding their own business? [00:35:17] Speaker C: I'm definitely minding my own business. [00:35:21] Speaker G: I'm taking notes about it mentally. [00:35:25] Speaker A: Mental notes. Mental notes. Okay, so 24 and 25. You might look at yourselves, you might try to study yourselves, but you look fine to you. You look fine besides, you know, any scraps and scrapes and bruises and like that. But even then, though that's being healed right now. You look fine. Tic tac. It is almost as if your eyes start every time you focus. You feel your eyes blur over. It's almost as if, like, when your eyes just can't stop watering. Like when you cut an onion, chop onions, stuff like that, and you push past that, and you can see the state of you. Your body normally is, I would assume, rather athletic for a Jotun, but you're specifically. You're like a monster hunter, so you know how to take care of yourself. You're much more gaunt than you should be for someone who went a week plus without what you would assume is solid food and water, proper water. You Seem genuinely drained. You can see where you're. You're the skin over bone. Almost as if your bones are popping upward past the flesh because you can feel the rest of your flesh. Even the color of your skin seems to be desaturated a little bit. And that's just looking at your arm. [00:37:22] Speaker E: That's not terrifying at all. [00:37:27] Speaker A: A little bit of whimsy today. You know, [00:37:33] Speaker E: try not to think of it as I read my book that if I'm finally clean enough to, like, get a proper read. But I think I'm slightly. I'm skimming a little more than I would because I'm like, what is eating me? Literally. [00:37:59] Speaker F: Mm. [00:38:02] Speaker A: If you ever catch a reflection of your face, are you trying to avoid that? [00:38:11] Speaker E: I. I think I would try to get a reflection because I saw. I saw the other creatures that we were fighting that I knew were once human. So I would look at my reflection while I'm doing that. [00:38:29] Speaker A: Okay. Yeah. Then absolutely. You are starting to look very much like them. Your. Your face seems like. Like, you know, when you suck in your cheeks, it's. It's like that. It's. It. But your whole face, not just your cheeks, it's just this. It's like something's pulling you from the inside and. And really, really stretching, you know, really taking advantage of the Alex. Of the elasticity of the skin and flesh. And if you were to, like, touch it, you can. You can feel, like, the bones of your skeletal structure. You look bad. You look really bad. And there's one more thing. One second. I think there's something missing. [00:39:29] Speaker F: Oh, so pretty. [00:39:31] Speaker B: Now, [00:39:34] Speaker E: all I have to say that is, o. I don't share this newfound knowledge with any of the other people. Like, they. They don't deserve to be panicked about it until the elders who can maybe help us get a chance to talk to us. [00:39:57] Speaker A: Yeah. You're trying to, like, spare them of your newfound reality. Do you want to look at everybody else? [00:40:08] Speaker E: Yes. [00:40:10] Speaker A: It's pretty much the same thing everywhere, and everyone looks really fucking bad In. In our less human facing ancestry. People like Curio looks like. Looks like a feral, mangy cat. Like. Like the on the streets type of cat, honestly. Just that level of skinny, that level of fur being matted almost, which, you know, you can see. Some people are like. Like, they're like. Some people try to offer y', all, like, oh, do you need help brushing your hair? Oh, do you need help getting up from the pool? Like, they try to. Like, you're. You're realizing that these people are like, this is like a. [00:41:02] Speaker F: This is. [00:41:03] Speaker A: These are, like, nurses helping y'. [00:41:05] Speaker G: All [00:41:07] Speaker A: not just, like, a show of hospitality. It's like these guys are trained nurses here to help people who. Who need that. Y' all belong in a hospital. Does it seem like. [00:41:21] Speaker F: Is it just like they have experience with doing this and so kind of know what to expect, or is it that they can actually see past, like, the almost, I don't know, illusory layer that Tic Tac is seeing past? [00:41:32] Speaker A: You're unsure if they even have an illusion going on, if the illusion seems to mostly be for y'. All. [00:41:39] Speaker E: Yeah, I'm imagining just. This is kind of for our information, and I'm thinking like, a perception filter from, like, Doctor who or like, the one companion that became a Cyberman. If anything, I'm surprised that the. It's not, like, dark dark, but you can kind of see the sky turn this beautiful gradient as midday is climbing towards an early night. And you're kind of led through the grounds. You see your. Your shipmates, the people from the sand ships. You see your rescue team. They do, like, kind of wave and give you guys, like, smiles and whatnot. It's summer. Like, they're just, like, kind of keeping up this good energy that's here amongst y', all probably feeling different types of ways. And then you're led to this gigantic multicolored tent. The smell of, like, heavy musk incense, and. Oh, God, I'm blanking on the. On the name for it, but it kind of, like, hits you first. Like, this room is. This space feels very different. Whereas the previous space was relaxing and outside is vibrant and lively, in here, it's not solemn, but you can tell that there is, like, a tone of respect that is expected here. This is a. Not necessarily a sacred space. This is not a space for worship, but you are about to meet people who are important around you you see about seven figures all seated. And you are given like, little mats with cushions to sit on. Everyone sits on the floor here and the floor has sand. The mats are kind of there to indicate where you can sit. But you are expected to be seated with the seven people kind of around you. You are in the middle of the circle. They make the circle. Each figure has various masks on the back of their head, which upon you taking your places in the middle, they will move from the back and pull it forward. Each mask is something different, usually an animal accompanied by some symbolism of the moon of water or of rain. And the one that you recognize, Amir, Amir, Aman. My bad. Aman, who had the lunar jellyfish mask, is the one that is directly, I would say, in front of you. Like, if you are in the center, you can assume that he is in the middle. Off to his right is Goodness. Off to his right is a. [01:29:15] Speaker F: Like. [01:29:16] Speaker A: It is. It is like a mask that is clearly two fish with the moon kind of being in the middle. And off to his right, they say left before the other direction. And to his other direction is a mask of a. Oh, I'm blanking on it. Name so hard. Is. Is of a bird, perhaps a crane of some sorts. But again, with the moon iconography going, like, all around it. We will answer your questions and then we will begin to purge you of the depravity. Take a deep breath.
