Episode Transcript
[00:00:00] Speaker A: Sam.
[00:00:43] Speaker B: Waking up dreaming dark so long I cannot find meaning hold my hand.
[00:00:52] Speaker A: Let me stay by your side through this never ending night I can feel.
[00:01:00] Speaker B: It now it holds me all the.
[00:01:03] Speaker A: These demons always roam me in this red light because me he is reaching out consuming.
[00:01:30] Speaker B: Hello and welcome back to G and G. I'm Aubrey, your gm and I'll introduce my players, who they are, who they're playing, and we'll get rolling into it.
[00:01:39] Speaker A: Hi, I'm Aki and I play the vigilante Grave Wing, who is a Nagaji's self monk and kineticist. We both use she her pronouns.
[00:01:50] Speaker C: Hello, I'm Sparlock and I play Alistair Whiskerfield, the great rat detective, arcane archer and wizard extraordinaire.
The revolutionary firebrand, sworn enemy to the scriab and scourge of the bourgeoisie and master of Nicodemus Tower. We both use he him pronouns.
[00:02:13] Speaker B: So what happened last time?
[00:02:17] Speaker A: Yo, that's me just letting y' all know this might be the last time for a while that I can do the opening here to the recap. And I bet y' all are gonna miss me.
I'm just saying, you know, last time we jumped a guy, then he jumped us back and it was terrifying because we're three people and he's one, but he might actually be like one and a half. There might be like a little schism in him.
This might be like a venom symbiote, things. That wouldn't be schism. That would be like his cousin Larry or something.
And like they're doing the same thing.
Bloodline is. There's like some sort of.
Bloodline is mentally ill and that mental illness has. Is blocking him. And so we are seeking help. We are. We are offering help the only way goblets and gays canonically can. By beating the shit out of him. Because that's what we do with therapy. We beat the shit out of each other canonically.
So, yeah, that's literally really all you missed. And Judith pulled a glaive out of her sleeve clown car style.
And Alistair is Hawkeye, like the Avengers.
[00:03:45] Speaker B: Yeah, yeah. Speaking of, we're at the top of round four with Judith.
[00:03:52] Speaker D: I am once again coming in freshly stabbed.
The thing is, I think the safe play would just be to just hang back and heal myself and keep casting spells from here.
But I think Judith is angry enough at this man and life in general.
She's gonna get up in melee range.
So I'm gonna still flanking even if Aki is prone, right?
[00:04:28] Speaker B: Yes, I believe so.
Because Aki can still attack, so.
[00:04:33] Speaker D: And I'm gonna put myself right here and I'm gonna try to do a restorative strike.
So my weapon is just gonna glow with holy energy as I try to heal myself.
I've got to do a flat check and it's fine. So I get healed.
That was not a good roll. I only heal 11 hit points and now I'm gonna make a glaive strike.
So I get plus one from doing a restorative strike and I get plus one because I'm still blessed up.
[00:05:24] Speaker B: Which.
[00:05:25] Speaker D: Makes that exactly 25.
[00:05:28] Speaker B: And that'll. That'll hit because of off card.
[00:05:35] Speaker D: So how much damage the glaive glaive deals? 2d8. So I'm going to roll that plus 3.
So he's going to take 18 points of damage and the healing energy is going to flow through my weapon, through his chest, and back out to heal grave wing for another 11 hit points.
[00:06:01] Speaker B: Right.
[00:06:02] Speaker A: That's so nice.
[00:06:04] Speaker B: And that'll bring us to Alistair?
[00:06:07] Speaker D: Yes, it will.
[00:06:09] Speaker C: All right, so I'm gonna look down my sights at him, see if I can get a clear shot.
And the answer is no.
So taking a second to rethink my possibilities, I decide I'm going to use a skill strike or a.
What do you call it? A skill thing, this turn.
Skill. Stratagem.
That's the word I'm looking for.
15, 20, 25.
Wait, no.
[00:06:56] Speaker B: 5, 10.
[00:06:59] Speaker C: 15, 20, 25.
And that's 5, 10.
I believe this is just like I move around so that I'm kind of flanking him, but I'm staying a good distance away.
And I believe that's just within the guidance aura or the blessing.
[00:07:27] Speaker A: Yep.
[00:07:28] Speaker C: All right, perfect. So that's where I'm going. I'm just kind of hanging out at the edge. I'm like, you can stay there.
That leaves me two actions.
So as I see him get ready to block, I'm going to aim at the bookshelf across from him and send a book flying his way instead as I cast. Telekinetic projectile.
Nice.
[00:08:10] Speaker B: Yeah, that'll hit.
[00:08:12] Speaker C: So that's a 27 to hit for so many dice.
20 I'm get.
[00:08:21] Speaker B: Would.
[00:08:21] Speaker C: Would a book be bludgeoning damage or we get like paper cuts for the slashing?
[00:08:28] Speaker B: Well, the bludgeoning makes sense.
[00:08:32] Speaker C: Okay, so yeah, the 20 bludgeoning damage as I hit him with a book.
And that will be my turn.
[00:08:42] Speaker B: Right.
That'll bring us to graveling.
[00:08:49] Speaker A: Free action to stare and make a face, but you can't see the face because I'm wearing a veil. A veil and a bass combo. But you can feel it. You can feel it. If this were a comic, there's a exclamation mark.
So, like, that's not normal, right? All this. All this extra stuff here coming out of him and like we're.
We are. We are different types of snake people, but snake people nonetheless.
That's not the. That's not a normal feral face that we. That's not normal either, right?
[00:09:29] Speaker B: No.
[00:09:32] Speaker A: I just say, Toshi, what the did they do to you?
[00:09:41] Speaker B: They showed me what I needed to do.
[00:09:45] Speaker A: Child support would have been real nice. This is a. This is too much. This is a lot.
Cool. I'm still prone. I am gonna.
I'm gonna use action to get back up.
Do I get up okay or is he gonna hit me like whack a mole?
[00:10:07] Speaker B: He already used his reaction. This round for dimple dodge.
[00:10:13] Speaker A: Oh my God, you're right, man. He didn't want that donkey kick so bad. Cool. I get up.
This is not looking super good. So I'm going to use another action to pop the dragon stance so I can deal more damage. Get that? It's still all non. Lethal. All of my damage has been non, lethal.
But now I got back swing just in case. I don't know that it's. It's not really that applicable, but I have it.
I'm mostly here for the like two jumps in damage die and then I last action will be just be flurry of blows then.
That's so good bless is still up. Is it?
[00:11:16] Speaker B: Yep, yep.
[00:11:17] Speaker A: That's. That's a. That's a plus one, right?
[00:11:22] Speaker D: Yes, it is.
[00:11:24] Speaker A: 36.
[00:11:26] Speaker B: 36, yes. And because of the. That's also counting the minus two for being prone.
[00:11:38] Speaker A: I'm not prone anymore.
[00:11:39] Speaker B: Oh, you're not prone to. You stood up.
[00:11:40] Speaker A: Yeah, Yeah.
[00:11:43] Speaker B: I forgot to mark that. You stood up on the thing. So. Yeah, that is a critical success.
[00:11:50] Speaker A: It wasn't a Nat20, but like it was one off. I just. I just want you all to know that was one off.
I'll. I'll do the damage later so I can just roll again real quick.
This one is.
I don't think it's gonna hit. It's. It's 25.
[00:12:14] Speaker B: And it will because he is. He's off guard.
[00:12:17] Speaker A: Is. He's off guard. Okay. I wasn't sure if the off guard numbers change. Change like from being prone plus that.
[00:12:26] Speaker B: It's the same. It's. Yeah, it's the same.
[00:12:29] Speaker A: Generally the same. Okay. Okay. That's, that's good to know.
Then. Yay. Thank you. Bless.
Okay, I'll just add up all the damage for you, so the, I'll just add up all the damage for you. Yeah, no, I won't say anything. I, I, I won't say anything.
60.
[00:12:55] Speaker B: 60.
[00:12:57] Speaker A: Yeah, yeah, like a solid 60.
Yeah, that, that Bane.
[00:13:05] Speaker B: So Bane.
[00:13:08] Speaker A: I, I don't know if it, if, if it's cut. He's oozing, Aubrey. He's oozing like it's Resident evil.
So, like, I don't know if, if the Bane does anything.
[00:13:22] Speaker B: So just, just a, just a question.
Like in these fights when you, you had, when your children, you always won, correct?
[00:13:32] Speaker A: Yeah, I, I have let him win.
But like there was always like a there, there is a, there was like always a difference. There is a.
My guy. I'm just way better when it comes to these kind of fights.
And he's, he's, he's better with weapons, but we're not using. What. I'm not using weapons. And that's why you're getting your ass handed to you.
[00:13:58] Speaker B: Yeah, he had 48 health left.
[00:14:08] Speaker A: We have the whole episode.
[00:14:16] Speaker B: Oh, there's, there's still things that, Things to do.
So how do you want to deal with your little brother?
[00:14:27] Speaker A: I said hound him three rounds for him to tap out.
We are on round four. He did not tap out.
So getting up and like turning into like my, my snake form, which is just a big ass snake tail. Very, you know, for, for Mimi's sake. It's just the bottom half is a large snake and the top half is still woman.
I just use my snake tail, my tail to wrap around him.
And like in the first Avengers movie, I just bash him around on the floor like I'm the Hulk and he's Loki.
I just do that several times.
And when like, you think I'm done and I see like the goop or something like that maybe move a little bit, I grab him again with my tail and I just one more time for good measure, like, oh, there is no ceiling because, because we haven't moved. And Judith made a hole.
Just raise up, slam again, maybe on his table or something like that, until he's like totally out. And maybe the goop is knocked out. I don't know how that works. I just want the goop to stop moving.
[00:15:54] Speaker B: Fair. Yeah. I mean, the goofy doesn't really move on its own. It's just something's wrong with his blood. Got bad blood.
[00:16:02] Speaker A: Taylor Swift?
[00:16:07] Speaker B: Yeah, no, he, he most certainly does. Not move. Once you've done that, you've once again thoroughly proven you were the superior sibling.
[00:16:21] Speaker A: I'm gonna do that to my sister.
She'll never see it coming.
That happens.
I'm gonna get out of. Out of the. The dragon stance and just kind of stare.
Y' all good?
[00:16:42] Speaker D: My head's still a little fuzzy from whatever he did. Some kind of anti magic, but I'm fine.
[00:16:53] Speaker C: We should maybe tie him up. Looks like he's still breathing.
I'm good.
[00:17:02] Speaker A: Okay, good, good.
Justin, you good?
[00:17:09] Speaker B: Tristan is. You can see him on the. The, like the other. Like a roof of a building across the way because he was shooting in from outside.
[00:17:19] Speaker A: Oh, he's on a roof. Okay, just.
[00:17:21] Speaker B: Just message him. Thumbs up.
[00:17:22] Speaker C: Tristan, you good?
[00:17:24] Speaker B: Yeah, it's like. Yeah, doing good. Angry boat is okay.
[00:17:30] Speaker C: Did you say anger bone?
[00:17:32] Speaker B: Angraboda.
[00:17:35] Speaker A: That's the elf woman that was also missing for a little bit. And she was, like, guarding what I hope is my sister downstairs or something.
[00:17:50] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:17:54] Speaker A: Aliser, could you tell him to. To get in here with the other woman?
Maybe she has the keys or something. I don't know.
[00:18:04] Speaker C: I will pass the message along.
[00:18:08] Speaker B: And he said we'll be in in a minute.
[00:18:11] Speaker C: They'll be in a minute.
Does he seem at all undead?
Like, what?
That was some weird looking blood.
Like, do you see this black ichor?
[00:18:31] Speaker D: I can try and examine him in a moment.
Mechanically. I'm stupefied for 45 more seconds, but Judith is gonna stow her glaive back in her sleeve, and then from the same sleeve is gonna pull out her healer's tools and just, like, sit down on the couch and start manually bandaging up her injury.
Get him secured and I'll look over him in a moment.
[00:19:11] Speaker C: I was just looking through my. I don't think I have rope.
Do you have any rope graveling?
[00:19:19] Speaker B: To be fair, none of you started off with any gear, so I don't think I've even bought an adventurous pack.
[00:19:24] Speaker C: Wait a second.
[00:19:25] Speaker A: We have. We have. We got a rope item, though.
[00:19:28] Speaker C: I think I.
I did think about that earlier to get a rope of climbing. I almost forgot.
Would you look at that?
I pull a rope out of my backpack or.
[00:19:47] Speaker B: Well.
[00:19:49] Speaker C: Yeah. So after one minute to remove my backpack and carefully remove an item I previously hadn't declared, I purchased. I've never used prescient planner before, but this is why we take it.
Are you feeling rope or manacles?
[00:20:20] Speaker A: Rope might be better.
[00:20:26] Speaker C: More generic use.
[00:20:28] Speaker A: Yeah, but also, it's like, you know, depending on how, like, Long the rope is. We could like hog tie him.
[00:20:35] Speaker B: It'd be like 15ft of rope.
[00:20:37] Speaker A: Yeah. Like versus manacles, which just.
Just like this. Right. And he's.
[00:20:43] Speaker B: He's very athletic.
[00:20:45] Speaker A: Yeah, I was gonna say he's. He's crafty, he's strong. I wouldn't put it past him to.
[00:20:51] Speaker C: Used to getting out of handcuffs.
[00:20:53] Speaker A: Probably also cheaper rope. Just might be. Might be the. The. The better one for the sole purpose of we could cover more things.
[00:21:06] Speaker C: All right. So, yeah, I pull out the rope that I had buried at the bottom of my backpack and I had kind of forgotten about.
[00:21:18] Speaker A: That's why you're the great mouse detective. And I'll take the rope from you and tie up my brother.
[00:21:28] Speaker B: Yeah, I mean he's. He's unconscious. Certainly can't stop you right now. And Judith, if you wanted to roll a medicine check.
[00:21:38] Speaker D: Now is that for me or for him?
[00:21:40] Speaker B: For. If you wanted to figure out what might be wrong with him. Okay.
[00:21:48] Speaker D: 30.
[00:21:49] Speaker B: 30.
So this is something that you've probably started to see more and more.
Its exact cause is hard to pin down, but one thing you know is that the people who seem to show these symptoms are people that align with groups like the Unbroken.
Quite possibly something that in.
Has happened from the. Whatever influence the.
The Titan has on them.
[00:22:34] Speaker D: Is it a poison, disease or curse?
[00:22:40] Speaker B: It's closer to a curse. Yeah.
[00:22:46] Speaker D: I can try to counteract it.
[00:22:50] Speaker B: Yeah, let's. Let's certainly give that. You can certainly give that a shot.
[00:22:56] Speaker D: I think I have to counteract. Check. Is basically the same as a spell attack roll. So I'm going to do a spell.
[00:23:04] Speaker B: Pretty much, yeah.
[00:23:07] Speaker D: And that's a 34.
[00:23:09] Speaker B: 34 you.
[00:23:13] Speaker C: Well, she's looking up the rules. I'm looking over your shoulder and like judging your technique.
[00:23:23] Speaker B: You feel like you've loosened whatever hold on this mechanically, you would have dropped his indoctrination level slightly.
[00:23:36] Speaker A: Bessie, do we know what level this is?
[00:23:43] Speaker B: No.
[00:23:45] Speaker A: Come to your house and beat you up.
Okay.
[00:23:52] Speaker D: Yeah. I think. As Judith draws her hands away, she says, I think I've loosened whatever hold Cygnus has on him slightly, but it's not enough.
When he wakes up again, he's still going to be your enemy. He's going to report right back to my cousin and he'll end up like this again.
[00:24:21] Speaker A: Now this is a really.
This is a. This might be a pointed question, but honestly, I don't know how much you actually do know. Do you.
Do you know what you're cousin is trying to do in like Three months?
[00:24:42] Speaker D: Not specifically. I know that it's going to be bad for the whole city.
[00:24:49] Speaker A: Yeah.
Try more like the world.
He's Band Aid. He's in cahoots with the Tyrant.
They're just straight up trying to end the world.
[00:25:13] Speaker D: That.
I mean Cygnus has always been power hungry, greedy, selfish, self serving. But what good would it do him to end the world?
[00:25:32] Speaker A: Honestly, I don't.
I wouldn't know.
The Tyrant promises things, so I'm not sure what he promised him, but that's how they influence him disgustingly.
I've had dreams of it, but never once been tempted.
[00:25:59] Speaker C: Do I have any crazy theories.
[00:26:06] Speaker B: More specifically? About what?
[00:26:09] Speaker C: About.
[00:26:10] Speaker B: We gotta narrow this down a little bit.
[00:26:12] Speaker C: Okay. Like I'm thinking like something that would.
That a goal of the.
Of the bourgeoisie that they would go to the Tyrant for.
[00:26:32] Speaker B: Huh? Huh.
I mean there is the whole.
Absolute power corrupts absolutely.
But you know, the Scabbins are deep in this.
What is graphics known for?
Music.
[00:26:54] Speaker C: Oh yeah.
Like they're. They're trying to get. The Tyrant has this mind control music that. That's what I. I think that's what they've been promised.
Like they can control people's minds through the music. If you play it backwards you can hear the messages.
[00:27:21] Speaker D: Right?
[00:27:27] Speaker A: I mean that kind of makes sense in terms of just like the missing people. But like also at the masquerade, Yuriodo really didn't want people to drink the wine. It looked weird.
And your cousin was gonna make everybody drink it at a. Like a toast, you know. Before what? Fucking lynching two people?
I don't know.
Maybe it's not mind control. Or maybe it is, but it's definitely some form of control.
[00:28:09] Speaker D: Well, either way, we accomplished what we set out to do.
Let's go rescue your friend.
And then your Toshiro's. Your brother, I take it?
[00:28:26] Speaker A: Yeah.
And pretty sure he took our sister.
[00:28:38] Speaker D: Look, I'm gonna make you an offer.
We take him downstairs, shut him in whatever cage he's been using to hold these people.
I try again with the spell. Tomorrow, the next day maybe eventually I can break sicknesses hold on him.
But if I break the spell and he doesn't go back to normal, I'm not letting him walk free.
[00:29:24] Speaker A: But you'll try to break the hold?
[00:29:27] Speaker D: I will.
[00:29:32] Speaker A: I.
I can agree to those terms.
He's.
We haven't really been close in a long time.
And there's.
Being a lamplighter was his choice.
One of those changed the system from within.
I think it's Personally, but he wasn't like this.
Something happened about seven years ago, and whatever it did, it freaked out his partner.
But not enough to make her fully run away, just enough to hide her there.
Child.
[00:30:53] Speaker B: Yeah. And as you. You do that, you turn around and you see Tristan sort of standing in the doorway, like leaning against the door frame.
Well, maybe there's still hope for him.
[00:31:09] Speaker A: There's got to be something in there. He had a lot of space in that head.
[00:31:15] Speaker B: He said it.
[00:31:18] Speaker C: In the meantime, he's not getting any more unconscious.
We should search around, right?
[00:31:29] Speaker A: Is. Yeah, for sure. Is the other woman, Angrboda, still here? Because she's. Technically, she might be cool, but we don't know if she's cool yet because until then there's a liability.
[00:31:41] Speaker B: Like, she's currently out in the hallway behind Tristan.
[00:31:49] Speaker D: Yeah, I think Judith still has, like.
I think that you've known her long enough to know that, like, she's kind of down for the cause, but she's still used to being in charge of people. And so she carries herself like she's in charge.
And so she goes.
Alistair, why don't you see if you can get those drawers open safely. If there's traps on them, there's probably a reason, but don't hurt yourself if you don't need to.
Tristan, if the two of you can carry Toshiro, we can take him along with us. I don't want to leave him unsupervised, even if he is knocked out.
[00:32:39] Speaker B: Yeah, well, last time we left him unsupervised, he went and did this.
[00:32:45] Speaker D: Yeah, I.
I don't know what that ichor is, but if it has.
[00:32:54] Speaker A: I.
[00:32:55] Speaker D: Don'T want to risk it, so keep him with us.
And then she goes to Iroboda and says, I'd like you to show me where he's keeping the other captive.
[00:33:09] Speaker B: She'll sort of bow to you a little bit and say, of course she was in the, I guess what used to be the wine cellar.
[00:33:21] Speaker A: While we're going?
Yeah, while we're. While we're going, I will pipe up and say, unreboda. How cool are you?
Are we going to have to.
Do I have to threaten you?
[00:33:37] Speaker B: I think I'm cool. I think I'm cool.
I certainly. I'm not going to say anything about anything that happened here, because that would be tantamount to heresy.
You can make a perception check?
[00:33:57] Speaker A: Yes, please.
We have another hero point.
That's better.
24.
[00:34:09] Speaker B: 24.
You're relatively sure she's telling the truth?
There may Be something that she's not talking about, but that doesn't seem to have anything to do with her as a lamplighter.
[00:34:31] Speaker A: And I can trust you're not going to be mentioning anything to do with.
[00:34:38] Speaker B: This, because then I'd have to explain why I knew about any of this or, you know, just even being associated with anathema.
[00:34:49] Speaker A: Right, Yep.
[00:34:51] Speaker B: Yeah, that's, that's, that's, you know, I don't want to. I don't want to have those questions asked. I just want to do my job.
[00:35:03] Speaker A: Good.
I just walk menacingly. I'm like, I'm a five foot block.
[00:35:13] Speaker D: If that's settled, please show us the way.
[00:35:15] Speaker A: Of course.
[00:35:17] Speaker B: And she leads you down into what is the wine cellar. And there's a sort of an area where one might store the more expensive vintages that's been sort of retrofitted into a cage.
It has standard amenities for like a prison cell would have, you know, it's got a cot and it's got a bucket.
And you see there's a tray with untouched food on it.
[00:35:54] Speaker A: What does the food look like?
[00:35:57] Speaker B: It looks like.
It actually doesn't look too bad. It's like higher end food, but it's like, it's pretty basic, like bread and there's a little bit of cheese and some dried meats, some dried fish.
[00:36:13] Speaker A: I want to vibe check the food later just in case, like, like when I have time to, I don't know, cut it open. I mean, that kind of vibe check.
But is she in there?
[00:36:31] Speaker B: Yeah, yeah.
You see sort of a shape on the ka. And as you all come in, she slowly sort of sits up and for a moment she blinks like she's unsure of what she's seeing and then sort of moves quickly over to the bars and sort of sticks her hands at a swing.
[00:36:56] Speaker A: It's.
[00:36:57] Speaker B: It's you, right? It's not another one of his ploys.
[00:37:06] Speaker A: It's me. It's me. It's really me.
I'll let her touch me if she needs it.
[00:37:15] Speaker B: Yeah, yeah, yeah. You do that. She touches you. She touches Tristan and she's just like, if it's.
I'm getting out of here, right? Please say I'm getting out of here.
[00:37:33] Speaker D: You're.
[00:37:34] Speaker A: You're. Yeah, yeah.
Do you got the keys? I'm looking to Angraboda.
[00:37:42] Speaker B: An agraboto will say yeah, and hand you the set of keys.
[00:37:49] Speaker A: Okay. Take it.
Unlock this door.
[00:37:55] Speaker B: Yeah. I don't know how much you were huggers before all of this, but you're Getting hugged.
[00:38:04] Speaker A: I'm not a hugger to most people, but I'm a hugger for her.
Yeah.
The brother in law got three hugs in his over 30 years of life from me in particular. But she gets, she gets as, as many as she needs.
[00:38:24] Speaker B: Yeah.
Kind of becomes a three person hug as you're, you're both hugged by Tristan.
[00:38:33] Speaker A: That's allowed. That's allowed. I, I'm short. There's no way this guy's got arm reach. I don't. It's fine. It's fine. I'll, I, I will allow it. But yeah.
Okay. Kids are safe.
Got this guy out like a week ago.
Boys. What ploys. What happened?
[00:39:06] Speaker B: Kind of just points up with the sky and says.
He kept coming to me in my dreams.
The tyrants.
[00:39:21] Speaker A: One second I turned Tristan. You get any of those dreams too or.
[00:39:27] Speaker B: He. Because no.
At least not yet. I hope I don't.
[00:39:37] Speaker A: Okay.
[00:39:38] Speaker D: Sorry. May I?
Yeah.
[00:39:43] Speaker B: Give me a medicine check.
[00:39:45] Speaker D: Yeah. Judith is like getting in her personal space a little bit like the way that doctors do and is just like making like really direct eye contact.
18 +11.
[00:40:02] Speaker C: 29.
[00:40:02] Speaker B: 29. You see some of the similar signs that you would. You saw on Toshiro and you've seen on other people, but it's not nearly as progressed as, as it would be for other people.
It's very, very early stages.
You know the blood is still normal but there, there is signs of the.
Some, there are signs where you see some parts of her. This glare of the eyes.
You can see sort of these black veins in them that are like more than you would normally see in an eye.
They're very, they stand out and the, the blood is, is a little darker, but that could just be from malnourishment. But yeah, it's.
If you think if you get her to a safe place that you can ward or bless or something, it should, you know, go away as long as she doesn't continue to get exposed.
She's just had several months of it and it's been trying to resist the best she could.
[00:41:24] Speaker C: Do you think he was holding her here for indoctrination?
[00:41:29] Speaker D: It looks like that was their plan.
I think with an unwilling participant it's a much more difficult process.
So I think she's resisted but.
[00:41:45] Speaker A: It'S.
[00:41:45] Speaker D: Whatever it is has taken root and will need to be purged.
[00:41:54] Speaker A: Okay.
What do you need?
[00:42:02] Speaker D: I can help her the same way help your brother. Just.
It might be the best to have her spend a night in the temple.
[00:42:12] Speaker A: Okay.
That sounds, that's good. I look to. Look to Tristan. You can stay with her. Right. Because I don't think they should be together.
[00:42:27] Speaker B: Yeah, no, I. I can say I make sure that, you know, everything above board is fine.
[00:42:38] Speaker A: Does Will this house work still for you? Judith? For him, I mean.
[00:42:48] Speaker D: I'll have to talk to the staff.
It's unclear how much they know and how much sway he has over them.
If it seems like they might report back to my cousin, then we'll need to move. But for now I think we can leave him in here and she points to the cell.
[00:43:13] Speaker A: Okay.
Okay.
I have contacts with the bloody Blades.
If we need to move them, we can do it with more people that we can trust.
But you.
I can get them here kind of whenever. You just need to let me know so I can get the word out.
[00:43:44] Speaker D: I will send word as soon as I'm able.
[00:43:50] Speaker A: Do you feel safe being here? Would you. I don't mind staying.
[00:43:56] Speaker D: That might help.
I.
I'm not too worried, but if.
If Cygnus gets word and it depends on how hard he comes down on this place, but let's try to get ahead of that and make sure he doesn't find out what happened tonight.
[00:44:22] Speaker A: I nod and I was about to say and look to Alistair, but that. Gone.
[00:44:30] Speaker B: Al. Just somewhere off in the. The cellar, just investigating.
Looking for strange things.
[00:44:39] Speaker A: Okay. So I under. So. So I. I understand that Angrboda is going to be chill with us, but still seems to respect this law and order of whatever Judith is doing. Like Judith is leading.
[00:44:57] Speaker B: Yeah, I haven't.
[00:45:00] Speaker A: Yeah, I haven't like revealed myself or anything like that, but just. I feel like Angrboda is hard enough to make connections so I'm just gonna trust that at least with the people in this room, everybody roughly knows each other's identities. So I'm gonna. I'm gonna choose to stay in disguise and just honestly act under Judith.
So because in terms of rank, I'm in a lower. Like, visually it looks like I'm in a lower position. So I'm just going to keep up with any ruse that's going on.
Alistair is also like dressed. We're all dressed up. But it's just. It makes more sense to let probably Tristan just go and take.
[00:45:46] Speaker C: For the record, I'm double checking the.
The cage to make sure that there's no like secret escape mechanism hidden.
[00:45:57] Speaker B: Yeah. If you want to give me a C3 check.
[00:46:00] Speaker C: Yeah, I would be.
If I had a cage at home, I would make sure that if anyone tried to put me in it, I Would be able to get out.
[00:46:12] Speaker A: Pull that secret lever. Crunk.
[00:46:17] Speaker C: That is a 33.
[00:46:21] Speaker A: That's Crazy Dog.
[00:46:24] Speaker D: Why'd you say it like that?
[00:46:29] Speaker A: Because I need to be put in a hospital.
[00:46:35] Speaker B: So at 33 for your thievery check, you don't see anything because you get. Again, it was built, it was kind of retrofitted to fit widow in it.
Who maybe has similar skills and would have definitely found a way out if there was a hidden way out.
[00:46:57] Speaker C: Perfect. I. I think this cage will do.
[00:47:01] Speaker A: I put him in there.
[00:47:03] Speaker B: Yeah. He will be unconscious for the next eight hours.
[00:47:07] Speaker C: Yeah, we should also search him as well.
[00:47:10] Speaker A: Yeah, yeah.
[00:47:11] Speaker D: Like take all his weapons, all his, like, magical gear.
[00:47:16] Speaker A: Honestly, thorough packed out. This guy's not gonna be in his suit by the time we're done with this.
[00:47:21] Speaker B: We.
[00:47:21] Speaker A: We just. I don't care.
[00:47:24] Speaker B: Yeah, yeah, you. You do that. And Tristan does mention that, like, to keep the suit because he can possibly learn how it works if he has time to study it and disassemble it.
[00:47:43] Speaker A: Noted. Noted.
Anything.
Anything to note on him?
[00:47:51] Speaker B: Yeah, he. He does have a necklace of the unbroken carrying that symbol around with him.
And certainly it looks like he.
He has not been. Certainly not been slacking in the years you see many new scars on his body.
[00:48:18] Speaker C: That means that if you don't have a number of scars every couple of years, you're being lazy. Right.
[00:48:31] Speaker B: And the.
He has the, like, one of the magical bandoliers that like whatever thinks you threw on them would get the like the striking rune and stuff. And the rapier itself is. Is magical.
[00:48:46] Speaker C: What runes are on the bandolier?
[00:48:54] Speaker B: It would literally just be striking. There weren't like anything like there weren't any special runes on the bandelier, but it's just your standard believe a plus one.
[00:49:06] Speaker C: Okay. Okay.
[00:49:07] Speaker D: So.
[00:49:07] Speaker C: So the thing that the stupefy effect was just him.
[00:49:12] Speaker B: It was his abilities.
Isn't that the spellcasters got close enough to hit them with anything else because if he could even do it with a punch.
[00:49:23] Speaker D: That sucks.
[00:49:25] Speaker A: Yeah, that's rough.
[00:49:29] Speaker C: That's why I was checking the runes on the throwers bandolier. Because I felt that like. And you got the worst of it, Judith.
[00:49:37] Speaker D: I took that whole stupefy.
[00:49:43] Speaker C: Yeah, you looked like you got a hit to the head, which was really weird for a dagger to the arm.
[00:49:54] Speaker D: Affliction is touch range too. That's gonna be a pain.
[00:50:00] Speaker A: Okay. Yeah, we gotta like double bind him just in case. Like.
Yeah.
[00:50:06] Speaker D: You might be camping here with me for a few days.
[00:50:09] Speaker A: Yeah. Yeah. That's. That's. Honestly, Graveling will do it, especially to help keep up this.
This guys, right?
[00:50:16] Speaker D: That.
[00:50:16] Speaker A: I'm.
That you. This is your, like, personal squad and whatever story you choose to run with for however long we need, and potentially we can get more people in more costumes as well to just kind of keep up with this as much as we can.
[00:50:33] Speaker B: I'm sure the bloody Blades would love to have some spare Lamplighter uniforms just in case.
[00:50:40] Speaker D: I.
Once we have him secure and we've got him hitman style in his tank top and boxers, I'm gonna head back upstairs with you all and find the staff, the woman who let us in.
[00:51:02] Speaker B: Yeah, you.
You do. They are kind of cowering in the kitchens because of the fighting and they see you at Lamplighter and they immediately come to you just being like, what is. What is going on? We heard sounds of a struggle.
[00:51:22] Speaker D: Remain calm.
Is this everyone on the staff?
[00:51:28] Speaker B: There's like six or seven people in here. And she goes, yes. We're the ones that usually tend.
He doesn't usually have much of a staff.
[00:51:41] Speaker D: I see.
Do you know who I am?
[00:51:49] Speaker B: This kind of looks good.
Yes. Yes.
[00:51:55] Speaker D: All right.
As of this moment, I'm in charge of this property.
[00:52:04] Speaker B: Of course. Of course, they are well aware of your last name. Your last name holds a lot of power.
[00:52:12] Speaker D: And she's going to, like, go into her bag and like, produce like, like a handful of gold coins and say, consider this paid time off.
Go home to your families.
Enjoy the next few days and don't tell anybody what happened here.
[00:52:37] Speaker B: Yeah. With. With that amount of money is certainly very easy because that is. That is literally for most of these people, almost an entire full week's work of, like, pay.
[00:52:52] Speaker D: Yeah.
[00:52:55] Speaker B: And they all quickly clear out.
All right.
[00:53:01] Speaker D: You've got the run of the place. That should buy us at least a few days.
[00:53:08] Speaker B: So you can kind of set up these.
I hesitate to call it a triage, but cleansing. Maybe you could set that up, bring in any other lamplighters that you trust and to help you out.
It is. It is going to be some work and grave. Wing and Alistair, are you also going to be staying here during this time?
[00:53:36] Speaker C: What you mean a chance to go through the private papers of a, like, person in charge?
[00:53:45] Speaker B: I'm sure that doesn't interest you at all.
So boring. Alastair would never want to do that.
[00:53:56] Speaker A: I. I'm.
No, I think I'm gonna take. Go for a walk. A stroll.
Maybe take some of this, like, money or whatever and like, check myself hotel or something. Maybe I'll get a massage or something. It's not like anybody important is in here.
[00:54:15] Speaker B: Yeah, no one. No one important.
[00:54:17] Speaker A: Nah, nah. Just a guy.
[00:54:20] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:54:21] Speaker A: No, I'm gonna stay here. I'm probably.
I am probably.
I might. I. I think what would happen is I'm. I'm going in between Alistair and the cell, kind of like back and forth because I can't decide what to do 100%.
I can't be everywhere at once.
I think for sure I am going to try and send a message to Lorelei using Whisper on the Wind to let her know what the fuck is happening and where and stuff.
Because this is important.
And honestly, she is grown and has like at least 20 guys.
She. She can probably figure out what to do, what's the best way to help us, and also maybe let her know where to intercept my sister and brother in law just to keep them safe.
[00:55:24] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:55:25] Speaker A: Yeah. I think.
I think where we've arranged. We've agreed that she's going to stay in the temple. The voice, Right.
[00:55:33] Speaker B: Yep.
[00:55:33] Speaker A: Judith's place of work.
[00:55:36] Speaker D: Well, I guess she could either stay in the temple or stay here. I assume she wouldn't want to stay in this house, but like she's been.
[00:55:43] Speaker B: Kind of cooped up in this house for like several months.
[00:55:47] Speaker D: Yeah. Like I can definitely like write a letter and be like on my authority, like no harm comes to these people.
[00:55:57] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:55:57] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:55:58] Speaker A: And Tristan would know where your office at the very least is. So it's like we. It's. It's safe.
[00:56:05] Speaker B: Yeah. You. They, they, they widow will most certainly take you up on the offer of staying at the temple because it's not this house.
She has seen enough of this house for one lifetime. She hasn't even actually seen all that much grave wing. The big question is there's your old costume in here.
[00:56:30] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:56:31] Speaker B: What do you want to do with that?
[00:56:33] Speaker A: I don't know yet.
I. I'm not sure. I might just leave it alone for now. It's. It was hidden.
It was behind a glass case and then hidden.
Yeah. And then hidden with like a blanket on top. I think I'm gonna leave it alone just for now because I don't know.
I don't know what to do with it. Like.
Yeah. And right now it's just. It. I feel like it'd be extra suspicious to just be caught like, you know, taking this down and then where would I keep it? I think it just needs to stay there for now.
And like, if I can, I'd like to snoop A little bit. But honestly, my. I'm. I feel like I'd be too.
Too focused on. Alistair is safe and alive. Okay.
My brother is unconscious. Good. Everybody's in the places they're supposed to be. Judith is keeping to her word, doing her job and totally not like speed dialing her cousin. Amazing. Amazing. Please let me. Let me keep trust. I'm. I think I'm a little, little too.
All over the place to really do much besides being patrolling stuff, security at this point.
[00:57:47] Speaker B: Yeah, no, you do that. You all settle in. It's. It's late at this point and certainly a lot to do over the next several days. And we'll.
We'll figure out what the other group is doing during this time down in the spooky hole.
But first we watch as Ingrboda leaves the house. And you watch as she walks between the houses for a moment and sighs.
And she says, it's a lot worse than I thought.
Okay. And you watch as she puts a hand on the side of this building and makes a circular motion.
And you watch as this becomes a portal and she steps through it.
The portal closes behind her and that's where we'll end it.
Whoa.
[00:58:58] Speaker A: Well, Jesus Christ, y'.
[00:58:59] Speaker C: All.
[00:59:01] Speaker A: If you liked what you heard today, check. Seek help. If you liked what you heard today, seek help.
We love you and we want you to take care of yourselves. And sometimes taking care of yourselves means unsubscribing. You gotta do what you gotta do, that's fine.

Other games that we do, we have like whole series of side games and stuff like that in there too.
And honest to God, that's it. Thank you, Mimi. Thank you, Mimi. Thank you for being held captive for two solid weeks.
[01:00:16] Speaker D: Thank you for having me.
[01:00:17] Speaker B: If you want to plug all of.
[01:00:19] Speaker D: Your stuff home last time, I would love to. I am Mimi, also known as Michelle Jones.
And you can find me most places. Leshakills. That's a L E S H A K I L L S. I am on itch IO. I sell games.
And if you want to know what else I do.
[01:00:48] Speaker A: My D dream from this Sam.
