[00:00:00] Speaker A: Sam. Waking up asleep I've been dreaming Dr. Long I cannot find meaning. Hold my hand, Let me stay by your side through this never ending night. I can feel it now. It holds me all the these demons around me in this red light. Because me, he is reaching out, consuming. [00:01:33] Speaker B: As you're home with the recap document, would you mind too taking the reins for this multiple month to my hyperbolic knowledge gap? [00:01:41] Speaker A: Then the last episode that came out was the day after the heist. It was basically dating the episode Vittorio took Grave Wing out for a date. Alouette and Juniper set up a potential future date. Maybe Laythe steals the book belatedly via magic, and then brings it to the Valeres because it was a book about the Valeres. And they all look at it and start to think through plans about what to do with the Valere family in general. And then, yeah, then it's Vittorio and Grave Wings day properly. And then they talk about the future and what are we going to do after we overthrow the government? Shrug. Shrug emoji. And that was the whole episode. It was gay. [00:02:34] Speaker C: Yeah, yeah, yeah. Certainly, certainly it was. So that through those events we have not hit the end of the week yet. It is. My notes are correct. We're a little over halfway through the week at this point. [00:02:58] Speaker A: And [00:03:00] Speaker C: Grave Wing, how would you say your. The. The date with Vittorio went? Do you think it went well? [00:03:08] Speaker D: I think it. I think it went well. Vittorio is a old fashioned man, but graveling is not. The very least he got a cheek smooch which probably blew him up or something. But otherwise it was. It was a good date. It was chill. [00:03:33] Speaker C: I was looking through my notes and I don't know if you ever did this, but question. Did you ever give away for Hester to contact any of you? I feel like you did, but I don't remember. [00:03:46] Speaker D: I'm pretty sure it was. We meet back up at the bar around the same time. But [00:03:54] Speaker B: do we not have a way of tracking her compared to contacting her? [00:03:57] Speaker A: We do have a sigil on her. [00:03:59] Speaker D: I did put a sigil on her. [00:04:02] Speaker B: Unfortunately, none of us are particularly normal. So a normal means of conversation is beyond us. [00:04:07] Speaker D: I mean, I can always just whisper on the wind and tell her, talk to her that way. It's more. But like, you know, it's not two way. It would be like I can set up meetings that way though. [00:04:21] Speaker A: In four days she was gonna meet with the Twilight watch and then would send a message by the crow and hammer afterwards. [00:04:28] Speaker D: Thank you. [00:04:29] Speaker E: Okay. [00:04:30] Speaker C: Yeah, I think it's Roughly about that time. Who would go and check that message of the Crow and Hammer? [00:04:37] Speaker F: Me. [00:04:38] Speaker C: All right. And it is. You get confirmation that the Twilight Watch in the city will help and asks for and immediately to meet her at the. [00:04:58] Speaker A: The. [00:04:59] Speaker C: The British Tanker Tavern at your earliest convenience that something may have happened. [00:05:12] Speaker B: Okay. [00:05:14] Speaker D: Did anybody else come with me to Crow and Hammer? This is just general question. [00:05:19] Speaker B: Doubtful on this end. [00:05:21] Speaker A: I can because I've been doing all the other Hester stuff with you. So just in case we get jumped. [00:05:30] Speaker D: Yeah, yeah. Then in. Because of. Of this rather ominous note, I think I'm gonna. I'm gonna whisper on the wind to. Honest to God. It'll be. It'll probably be to Leith and literally everybody else. I'm just gonna go, bam, bam, bam. You know, just a message for everybody to come to the Crow and Hammer because I don't feel too comfortable with us going anywhere else for now. Like, we as a group gonna do this as a group. Gonna go as a group. Don't want to get jumped. I mean, we could get jumped. It would be a very important for them. Yeah, I just like, I rather we as a group get jumped than two people get jumped. [00:06:26] Speaker B: You're saying it like we've been jumped before. You know, going into an abandoned building completely on our own to investigate something. [00:06:32] Speaker D: Yeah, we've been jumped at least twice a season so far. [00:06:38] Speaker E: Right? [00:06:38] Speaker B: Oh, I just enjoy mocking Yuri at every opportunity. [00:06:48] Speaker D: I didn't even think about that. I was just thinking about our general track record about getting jumped as a group. As a. Yeah, as a group. I was like, we've been jumped a couple times as a group. I was like, oh, yeah, solo. That was me. That was me. [00:07:08] Speaker E: I mean, if everyone's there, like gets there. I think after the information is relayed, just so do we. We should all go. You want us to all you sure. [00:07:26] Speaker D: I think there's gonna be. I think it's safer from all of us to go, but maybe not together, you know, go a few different routes. Some go in, some watch around, wait for something to happen. I don't like the sound of this. And I just kind of tap the letter. [00:07:49] Speaker B: I presume we'll be going in our vagante outfits or as normal people. You all have been disguised potentially in some way or form. [00:07:59] Speaker D: Not me. I've been showing up just like this. [00:08:03] Speaker A: So I've been a completely different person. [00:08:12] Speaker E: Well, I think it would make sense if the people that have been corresponding with them go as would have been. I'll gladly, you know, keep watch. Disguised, of course. For me. Mask or no mask, it doesn't matter for me. I don't want them to know my face. [00:08:36] Speaker B: It may be best to wear the disguises that match with graveling if she goes in it. Or at least with her to sound that we are part of her group. Which seems to be already somewhat trusted enough to at least plan a rendezvous of any nature whatsoever. [00:08:55] Speaker D: We could do the thing that we did with our second meeting with Hester. A couple of us at the location already as undisclosed civilians. Lou and I can go in as how we have been normal. And the rest can wait outside hiding, just in case. [00:09:21] Speaker E: Where do they want to meet? [00:09:24] Speaker A: The usual place. [00:09:27] Speaker C: It's a tavern in the Ravenswood district. [00:09:31] Speaker E: Near a school, I assume. [00:09:34] Speaker B: Okay, that does sound like an excellent idea. Well, Alouette, would you be able to make me very undisclosed citizen of a person? [00:09:48] Speaker A: Of course. That is my specialty at this point. [00:09:55] Speaker B: I'd like to look very forgettable. I would like to look like an npc even if that is possible. [00:10:03] Speaker A: I don't know what you mean, but yes, I can do it. How many disguises do we need? Yori? I know you have yours covered and I have mine covered. And we have the masquerade scarf if anyone needs that one garb when you do not need one. Anybody else wants one or is it just the one? [00:10:29] Speaker C: Yeah, I think Alice are weak as the great mouse Detective last time, so. [00:10:33] Speaker D: That's right, you did. [00:10:35] Speaker A: You went. That's in the way. [00:10:38] Speaker D: No, no, no, no, no. I swear to God. Alistair was like a bodyguard. Alistair was a beefier mouse. Like we. We. I swear to God. I remember this happening, but I also [00:10:48] Speaker A: remember being like the great mouse detective at the same time. Were you like just the beefy mouse detective? [00:10:54] Speaker E: The great beefy mouse Detective. [00:10:56] Speaker D: Alistair was straight up just a man, but a rat last. Last time. I swear to God. I swear to God. [00:11:04] Speaker F: Yeah, I think we did like a bodysuit with like the rat six pack. [00:11:09] Speaker E: Jesus Christ. It gets. It gets more horrifying by the sentence. [00:11:16] Speaker B: The great reaction Detective. [00:11:20] Speaker D: I swear to God. Like I'm not making this up, right? [00:11:22] Speaker A: Like I do remember this. [00:11:26] Speaker E: No, I think you're making it up. [00:11:29] Speaker D: I'm not going to take this from destiny with a butthole in the background. Leave me alone. [00:11:33] Speaker F: I was going to suggest doing some. I. I need a pun like whisker investigation. I was thinking about pre ratting, but [00:11:49] Speaker C: should I pre rat or. [00:11:52] Speaker A: I'm sorry, [00:11:56] Speaker F: Mouse detective. [00:11:58] Speaker A: Shut the what? [00:12:00] Speaker B: I believe the correct term according to the youth is rat maxing. [00:12:05] Speaker F: Oh, there we go. [00:12:07] Speaker D: Oh, God. That is the correct. [00:12:12] Speaker A: We're so maxed. [00:12:14] Speaker D: Rat maxing is the correct term, by the way. [00:12:17] Speaker G: You're not wrong. [00:12:18] Speaker C: That's also the title of this episode. [00:12:20] Speaker E: All right, let me open up from the shop really quick. One sec. Continue. [00:12:25] Speaker A: Oh, my God. [00:12:26] Speaker F: Am I rat maxing or am I bodyguarding? [00:12:29] Speaker A: New question. [00:12:30] Speaker F: I am. [00:12:31] Speaker A: Good. You tell me what you want and I will either give you a disguise or you will be a rat. Does Leif want a disguise? [00:12:44] Speaker G: Also just going to use the masquerade scarf, I think. [00:12:48] Speaker A: Okay. [00:12:48] Speaker F: If I use pest form, does the disguise stay with me so that I can transform from rat to buff rat bodyguard? [00:12:59] Speaker A: That's hilarious. Strictly speaking, it is affixed to your armor, so there would be like a split second before you became buff rat. I guess it's like buff frog all over again. But, but no, no is the answer. I, I don't think. [00:13:25] Speaker F: Okay. I, I, I think it would be as funny as the the Rat Pack is. I think I'll be rat maxing so that we can, okay, have some, like, pre meet up. [00:13:46] Speaker A: How much. How bad are we expecting this to be? I know we're going in like it's a meeting, but we're also going in like, we're going to get killed. [00:14:01] Speaker B: So are we like Aubrey and her tropes? We are definitely going to get ambushed. [00:14:05] Speaker D: I want to. Yeah, I want to. I want to. Some dumb bitch over the ice. I want to. I want to be cautious. That's all. [00:14:14] Speaker A: Okay. [00:14:14] Speaker D: Like, I'm just. [00:14:15] Speaker A: It's a question of what talisman should I have prepared for us and spread through the group. If, if it's because my combat setup is different from my, like, sneak setup versus etc. Etc. I got a lot of formulas. [00:14:28] Speaker C: Ye. [00:14:28] Speaker D: Yeah. I don't, I don't. I don't expect any sneaking necessary. And if, if sneaking is going to happen, we do, we do have a rogue, so. [00:14:37] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:14:38] Speaker D: Like, like, if it, if it's going to happen, I really don't expect it to happen. [00:14:42] Speaker A: Okay. So prepare for fighting more than anything. Okay. [00:14:46] Speaker D: Yeah. Just in case it's, it really is a precaution. Precautionary jump. [00:14:54] Speaker A: And I will get a couple things in here. I have, I have a standard layout of. We have our one disguise, two combat things, and one healing. So that usually does pretty good for us. Do you want the trip talisman again, Grapeling? [00:15:16] Speaker D: Yes. [00:15:17] Speaker A: Okay. That might be really bludgeoning damage that equals your strength modifier to your trip. [00:15:25] Speaker D: Oh, is my trip this round? [00:15:28] Speaker A: Then I will give you the wolf fang. I will give Lathe the bloodseeker beak which gives precision and bleed damage to off guard targets that you stab with it. [00:15:42] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:15:43] Speaker A: And then does anybody feel squishy and want to have a little health in their back pocket? I'll give it to Yuri because Yuri straight up bleeds themself. [00:15:58] Speaker D: Hell yeah. [00:16:00] Speaker A: And then Niall will have the emergency disguise as requested. [00:16:06] Speaker F: Ratconaissance. [00:16:08] Speaker D: Ah, there we go. [00:16:11] Speaker E: Now we're rat maxing up. [00:16:14] Speaker F: Well, rat maxing is part of ratconaissance. [00:16:17] Speaker D: Yeah, I would. I would there. I would. I would say ratconaissance is when you are sneaking around in rat form or pest form. Like that's what I would argue whenever you're in pest form, that's ratconaissance versus anything else I feel like is rat maxing. Excluding the beef rat. [00:16:42] Speaker C: All right, so I take it you're getting the lay of the land before everybody goes in. [00:16:48] Speaker F: Yeah, just. Just making. Just going in surreptitiously making sure that the thing's going on. I'm just the usual tavern rat. [00:17:00] Speaker C: So yeah, give me a perception. Ch. [00:17:05] Speaker F: Ooh, that's pretty low. 28. [00:17:09] Speaker C: 28. So as you sort of slip into the burnished tanker tavern, you see Hester sort of sitting at the usual table today. She has. She still has armor and still has her weapons, but she has taken off anything that symbolizes like shows that she is a part of the Twilight watch and is sort of sitting at the table kind of just nervously. Just. She doesn't have drinks, doesn't have food or anything, but it's just kind of nervously tapping at it as she's just looking around supposedly probably waiting for any of you to show up. [00:17:50] Speaker A: Did you say she's nervous not wearing anything Twilight watch or. She is wearing Twilight watch? [00:17:56] Speaker C: She is not. She is currently taking off anything that [00:17:59] Speaker F: symbolizes and I can't speak in rat form, so I will poke out and give the. [00:18:09] Speaker C: The. [00:18:10] Speaker F: It looks okay. Wink. Since I can't quite effectively communicate that nervous. Boggle that all is clear. [00:18:29] Speaker A: An all clear Boggle. [00:18:32] Speaker C: I guess that's. That's Alistair's all clear Boggle, not the. Oh no, this is a trap Boggle. [00:18:36] Speaker A: Right, right, right. Gotta learn the Boggle. [00:18:39] Speaker F: Very different looking things. [00:18:43] Speaker A: I think actually I could speak with you, but I get it. The Boggle's good enough. [00:18:47] Speaker E: Close. [00:18:47] Speaker A: Moving on. Just for future reference, I can speak to you now, but let's go in [00:18:57] Speaker D: like you say that we. We can see like Hester, right? Is it like through A window or. Or can we see like the rest of the bar too? [00:19:06] Speaker C: If you could probably see her through one of the windows kind of. If you like look. Because she's probably tried to find a place like you've all tried to probably find a place where you aren't easily like viewable, but you can. And if you even step in, you'll see where she is. [00:19:23] Speaker E: Cool. [00:19:23] Speaker D: I just wanted to see if I could do like a vibe check to see if anybody is watching her specifically besides us. Obviously it's. Did this get tailed or something? [00:19:38] Speaker C: Another perception check. [00:19:41] Speaker D: 27. [00:19:42] Speaker C: 27. I. Yeah. [00:19:45] Speaker E: You. [00:19:46] Speaker C: You don't notice anybody that seems to be paying any attention to her? It's kind of mid afternoon at this point and there are not that many patrons in the bar yet. Currently most people are still at work. There are a few people like trying to just kill some time or enjoy a break. But it's pretty quiet in the bar and no one is giving her any undue attention. [00:20:16] Speaker D: I. I think just out of like precaution I would enter first like out of the main group going in, you know, and. And doing the chatting. I mean so yeah, I go in. [00:20:34] Speaker A: Yeah, I'm with you. [00:20:38] Speaker C: She seems to. As soon as she spots you, she does relax a little bit and does wait for you to come and sit down. Just thank for coming as soon as you got my message. [00:20:53] Speaker A: What is the matter? You seemed very upset. [00:20:59] Speaker C: Well, last night I got word that another student has disappeared from campus. [00:21:11] Speaker D: Oh. [00:21:13] Speaker A: Do you know who then? [00:21:18] Speaker C: There they were, just one of the students. Their roommate reported that they didn't return this morning and I. I want to believe it is something as simple as spending the night in their partner's room or hooking up with somebody or just getting drunk somewhere. But I have a really bad feeling about this. [00:21:46] Speaker A: Understandable. What do you. What do you know about the person who's missing and where they might be? [00:21:56] Speaker C: They. Their name is Blythe. And as far as their roommate knows, they were sitting late in the library till late last night. So they are just one of the evocation students. [00:22:17] Speaker D: You got any physical details? [00:22:22] Speaker C: They are tiefling on the shorter side to 535 4. Sort of this bluish green skin and dark brownish hair. [00:22:42] Speaker A: Suppose we will go try to find her then. I know you anticipate this being trouble of some kind. But short of you coming with us, how else do you want us to [00:22:59] Speaker B: do to [00:23:01] Speaker A: anticipate this trouble? [00:23:03] Speaker C: I think it is the Sin Eater. [00:23:07] Speaker E: I know. [00:23:07] Speaker B: I got that part. [00:23:08] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:23:11] Speaker C: I. I just want to try to stop him before anything happens to the students. [00:23:18] Speaker D: All right, here's the problem. We would have to. We, as in our people as well, would have to enter the school again, most likely to do the search. Our original plan was luring him out. So are you gonna be of any help with that? [00:23:36] Speaker C: I can help you with that. I can buy you time. [00:23:45] Speaker A: What do you mean by that? [00:23:47] Speaker C: I can make sure that the guards that are on campus are distracted in enough time for you all to slip in and investigate. [00:23:59] Speaker D: I see. [00:24:02] Speaker B: Well, no time like the present. [00:24:07] Speaker A: And if I recall correctly, I think this Persona that Lou has is supposed to be a university student anyway. [00:24:15] Speaker D: Yes. Yeah, yeah. You came as a student. [00:24:17] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:24:18] Speaker D: And I came as your parental guardian. [00:24:20] Speaker A: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Something like that, yeah. This is my unconvincing bodyguard. Very convincing in the bodyguard thing. I'm convincing that she's my bodyguard. [00:24:36] Speaker D: One more thing. Let's say we find a trail. Are you going to be able to bring your buddies in, or is this just going to be us? [00:24:49] Speaker C: I will do my best, but it may have to be you. But I'll make sure if anyone takes the blame, it will be the Twilight Watch. [00:25:01] Speaker A: It has been a long time. Out of character. [00:25:04] Speaker B: I know. [00:25:04] Speaker A: We discussed it as a group, privately at home, about the whole. She is Nile's sister. What have we told her about the fact that we have told. [00:25:14] Speaker D: We have nothing. We have told her absolutely nothing. Because we were hoping to, honest to God, our original plan was to learn shit, and then we'd have maybe, like, a little bit more time. Like, we didn't really discuss how we would ever do the Nile thing because. Okay, that's up to Niall. Yeah, yeah, yeah. The only thing that we. We talked about was we're gonna protect Niall, so she tries to jump him. She's about to get jumped back. [00:25:39] Speaker A: The only reason I bring it up now is because if she is gonna ride in with the cavalry, so to speak, should we find something, then Niall's gon. And the disguise doesn't last forever, you know? [00:25:50] Speaker D: Yeah, no, that's. That's the other reason why I'm asking. Because. [00:25:56] Speaker A: Do we. [00:25:57] Speaker D: On the off chance. [00:25:58] Speaker A: Yeah. Like, I don't want to just doc Nile right here to her. But also, I feel like some sort of warning needs to be put in place so she doesn't kill him on the spot. [00:26:10] Speaker D: Okay. Graving's gonna get up, kind of ready to contact the rest of the group, but then she's gonna pause and turn to Hester and kind of get like, so that way we're whis. Like. Like we are talking sort of like a whisper per se. But I'm not getting up against your ear or anything like that. It's more like the inside voice's inside voice. And I'm gonna say my team is really weird. [00:26:49] Speaker B: So [00:26:52] Speaker D: whatever you see, you stay calm. [00:26:55] Speaker A: And [00:26:57] Speaker D: if you start swinging, I'm gonna start swinging. That's just a warning for you. [00:27:04] Speaker C: Just give me an intimidation roll. [00:27:11] Speaker D: See, I'm. I'm trained in intimidation. I just don't trust myself with intimidation. I don't play characters that get to intimidate actually a lot. We just say up and we're cute so we get away with it. 26. [00:27:34] Speaker C: 26, I think. [00:27:37] Speaker A: Yeah. This way, this way. 6. [00:27:42] Speaker C: She nods and says if you. I will do my best. If you can save the student, doesn't matter how weird you are, I'm in your debt. [00:28:01] Speaker D: Just remember that we're all on the same side. That's all I care about. [00:28:06] Speaker C: Of course [00:28:10] Speaker D: I'm a dust. Actually, I. I stood up. Never mind. I am just going to like kind of wrap myself in my mouth my cape a little bit more and guys, I don't remember how many people are in the bar. Are you all in the bar? [00:28:23] Speaker B: Like, I have not particularly established myself in this scene. It may make more sense if I am outside. I assume there is a very normal rat somewhere in the building though. [00:28:39] Speaker C: Yeah, extremely. [00:28:41] Speaker E: Normally be in the bar, just somewhere else. [00:28:45] Speaker G: Same with Laith. [00:28:48] Speaker A: Oh, so you left Niall outside all by their self? Yeah. [00:28:54] Speaker C: Squeak, squeak, squeak as a treat. Squeakity squeak, squeakers. [00:28:59] Speaker B: Squeak, squeak indeed. [00:29:02] Speaker A: Cool. [00:29:03] Speaker D: Then to add. I'll just. I will tell. I'm saying this to Hester and to Lou and potentially Alistair who is with us or somewhere under the table. Yeah, I was like, are you. How. I don't know how good your rat maxing is here, my guy. [00:29:22] Speaker F: Have you ever seen a rat like in the house where they like peek their head out and they know you're there and you know they're there. [00:29:33] Speaker D: Okay, good. I will say let's go start walking. Kind of do a little head nod to whatever sides I hopefully can guess. Yuri and Leith are head for the door so we can meet up with Nile and regroup. And I guess Hester has to will be a part of this regrouping here. So that way y' all also get up to date on what we kind of got to do. We on a time crunch people. But also what a. It's just aura farming like a little bit. [00:30:10] Speaker A: You're bringing Hester outside? [00:30:13] Speaker D: Everybody's coming outside. [00:30:14] Speaker A: Okay. [00:30:15] Speaker D: Yeah, because Hester is going to be. Hester says she'll buy us time to investigate. So I just warned her ahead of time to chill the fuck out. [00:30:27] Speaker A: Yeah, no, yeah. I wasn't sure if that was for right this moment or the future. Inevitable future. But now it is. [00:30:33] Speaker D: Yeah. No, I feel like we're on too much of a time crunch for us to continue to be secretive with our people for now. Plus, it's just her. Yeah, it does look one girl kind [00:30:45] Speaker A: of threatening if we get up and then three other people join us while she's walking out. [00:30:51] Speaker C: Like, [00:30:53] Speaker D: that is exactly. That is exactly what I want her to feel. Also, we're aura farming. That's a good thing. That's a good thing. [00:31:03] Speaker E: We're maxing. [00:31:06] Speaker D: Farming is the better, is the correct term. [00:31:10] Speaker B: Okay, I have a very important question for you. Technically speaking, you have some sort of wind related abilities, right? You could theoretically use these to have your cap billow dramatically for max moral farming. [00:31:23] Speaker D: I could? Yes. All I gotta do is open my gate and wind will blow where I wish it to blow. Yeah, why the fuck not? We're aura maxing here. Maxing. It's aura farming. Holy. Gen Z lingo. I hate [00:31:53] Speaker F: rat maxing and aura farming. If we're aura farming, I will. And Aki allows it. I will shoulder rat. Like just out of nowhere. [00:32:11] Speaker D: Yeah, shoulder up. Because the. The idea that a rat could have jumped at this from a rat, as a rat sized rat could have jumped at this from like the corner of the bar is really funny. [00:32:27] Speaker E: Jesus Christ. Okay, so sorry. Okay, so we go now. Where are we investigating the school or where are investigating the library? Well, [00:32:47] Speaker D: Esther, this is the team. Team Hester. She's gonna buy us some time while we investigate. We will most likely be jumping to the sky as soon as we can [00:32:57] Speaker C: good looks at all of you and says, give me 10 minutes. You will have a window to get into the building. I can't promise that long, so move quick. [00:33:13] Speaker B: I will not. [00:33:16] Speaker C: Your sister is certainly sporting a lot more scars than she did a few years ago. [00:33:20] Speaker B: Well, that's kind of her problem now, isn't it? But I. I will do my best to keep a straight face and focus on the mission. Currently, the whole team is basically just in different disguises. Huh? Completely normal. [00:33:41] Speaker A: It's like a reverse of gray wings. Everyday life. [00:33:44] Speaker D: Yeah, I was gonna say. For once, I am Norm. I'm. I'm fully, fully like normally here. [00:33:50] Speaker A: Because you're in cities, aren't you? [00:33:53] Speaker D: No, I'm dressed as Grave Wing. I came. [00:33:56] Speaker B: Okay. [00:33:56] Speaker A: You are Great. Okay. [00:33:57] Speaker D: Yeah. But it's also like, I'm dressed as graveling with you guys almost all the time. Right. Like, so it's like. It's. All of you are now dressed up. So it. Technically speaking, I. I am in civies, [00:34:11] Speaker A: I guess, [00:34:16] Speaker D: In technical terms or sense. But yeah. Yeah. As we go, Griffin will give you the debrief on who we're looking for. I'm not leaving anything out, especially with the. The description and stuff. But yeah, like, just. We're gonna look so put together as a team. So we're farming the episode. [00:34:49] Speaker C: Yeah. So you wait the amount of time you're asked, and as you all approach the sort of the main entrance of Ravenswood Academy, sort of those massive gothic doors, you don't see any guards in sight. [00:35:11] Speaker A: That is not a good sight. [00:35:16] Speaker B: Brilliant. Oh, [00:35:21] Speaker F: well. [00:35:21] Speaker D: What are the chances that this guy is still here? Good. [00:35:29] Speaker B: Well, technically, they haven't found a body yet, so he's probably setting it up. If he is still here. [00:35:36] Speaker A: It likes to leave them in very public places. [00:35:38] Speaker B: So. [00:35:41] Speaker C: So the guards are not here because Hester is buying you time. So they're not looking at the main entrance. [00:35:46] Speaker D: Oh, what the. Okay, never mind. [00:35:50] Speaker A: I can't keep Jacob Hester, man. To. [00:35:53] Speaker D: To be. To be fair. To be fair. The sin either is also a part of the high priest inner circle of goons. So, like, if they were gonna have no guards here, like. That's all I'm gonna say. That's all I'm gonna say. With my presumption of this man, how this man's been able to sneak onto the school property four times now. [00:36:18] Speaker B: I assumed that you were talking about the killer because of course he'd still be here if he was still here. They haven't found the body, and he loves displaying those like trophies. I did not realize you met the guards that Hester pointed to and said, go look over there. And it worked. My bad. [00:36:34] Speaker A: I heard both. See, I was. I was in both worlds at the same time. I'm like, guards aren't here because the baddies here. [00:36:40] Speaker E: Let's go. [00:36:43] Speaker D: Just scratch all that out. Just scratch that confusion out. Ho. [00:36:46] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:36:47] Speaker D: Library. [00:36:50] Speaker C: The library is not hard to find. It is one of the biggest rooms on this entire campus. The library itself spans over three floors [00:37:00] Speaker F: of [00:37:03] Speaker C: possibly recorded texts that date back to the founding of some of the major cities. Quite possibly founding of Malach, maybe going back even further to what existed before. But really, you don't have time for that right now. So everybody, who. How are we. How are we doing this investigation? Who's going to lead it and who's going to assist? [00:37:32] Speaker F: I will de ratify and be like, I got this. Yes, this is a case for the great rat detective. [00:37:49] Speaker A: Absolutely no arguments here. Please do your thing. Have guidance. Do I have guidance still? Yeah, have guidance. [00:38:00] Speaker B: And theoretically as well, if you find an object of importance, object reading may give us some additional information. If an event happened to it or around it [00:38:10] Speaker E: should also probably just like cover ground. [00:38:17] Speaker A: Are there other people in this library? What time? It's afternoon. You said it's afternoon. Are there other people at library? Like a librarian? [00:38:28] Speaker C: Yes, there would be a librarian in here. [00:38:31] Speaker A: I'll talk to the librarian. While the rat detective does his masterful thing. [00:38:35] Speaker C: Yeah, because you just look like a student. [00:38:38] Speaker A: I'm just a student. [00:38:40] Speaker C: Yeah, exactly. And there are. There are a small amount of students in here studying. [00:38:50] Speaker F: So the entire school, basically. [00:38:55] Speaker C: No, I think there's like five students in here. There's like several hundred in this entire school. [00:39:01] Speaker F: Okay. I, at one point I thought was like a dozen students was like the entire school. Okay, fair enough. Let me know what I need for my look for clues. [00:39:17] Speaker C: Roll perception. [00:39:20] Speaker F: Perception. Yep. [00:39:21] Speaker A: Yep. [00:39:24] Speaker F: Man, I can't roll above a. It's a 27. [00:39:29] Speaker B: Is it too late to help the poor vap detective? [00:39:34] Speaker F: Oh, yeah, we helping on exact. [00:39:37] Speaker C: Did you take the guidance? Yeah, guidance. And then if anybody else wants to get to roll to assist with perception, [00:39:48] Speaker B: I think that may be best. [00:39:50] Speaker D: Yeah, just in case. [00:39:54] Speaker F: I should have double checked that before I rolled. [00:39:58] Speaker A: Where's some remembering how to play the game? [00:40:01] Speaker C: Yeah, it's been a month. [00:40:04] Speaker D: Does it matter what we roll for for an assist, or is it also like a perception? [00:40:08] Speaker C: It's perception. And as long as you get higher than a 15, you assist. If you get 25 or higher, that's the. That's a critical [00:40:19] Speaker B: 24. So that is a plus 2.3. [00:40:25] Speaker D: 21, 29. [00:40:33] Speaker G: So. [00:40:34] Speaker C: And then six with the loet's one. So that what makes it like a 33, 34. [00:40:43] Speaker G: Yep. [00:40:44] Speaker C: All right, [00:40:47] Speaker B: you. [00:40:47] Speaker C: It takes you 15, 20 minutes of looking through, sort of moving, looking for any kind of clues. You come across what appears to be like indents in the floor where something has been dragged recently. And you follow it to a bookshelf, but it seems to continue behind the bookshelf. [00:41:19] Speaker F: I message together everyone in the area over this way, which isn't very helpful when you're magically talking to them to tell them this way. But [00:41:37] Speaker A: bookshelf. That's against a wall. Or is it a freestanding bookshelf? [00:41:41] Speaker C: It's against the wall. [00:41:45] Speaker A: Secret tunnel. [00:41:48] Speaker F: Just start like, pulling random books. Like, one of these has to be the latch. [00:41:54] Speaker C: Anyone wants to figure out how to get this open, it's going to be a thievery check. [00:42:01] Speaker B: I'm aware that le's camera is off, but I can feel the smoke. [00:42:06] Speaker D: I was going to say we're all staring at a floating a. That's what we're all staring at right now. [00:42:13] Speaker F: What? [00:42:15] Speaker G: You want me to do something, but we have detective here too. [00:42:22] Speaker F: I'm not a thievery person, though. I'm a looking for clues person. I found the clues. [00:42:30] Speaker B: This is not in character, but, Leith, your only skill is with your hands. Please use them. [00:42:38] Speaker A: Insult. It's kind of complimentary. [00:42:41] Speaker G: As an insult ghost, she's got mastery and deception too. She can use her mouth as well. That was a nat 20 for a total of 39. [00:42:48] Speaker E: Yeah. [00:42:49] Speaker G: Why are we even here? [00:42:50] Speaker D: Talking about being reasonable. [00:42:58] Speaker C: So, yeah, Leith, you. It's literally the first book you try. There's. It is. You know, like, when you're staring at old animation and you're just like, nope, that's the thing that's gonna move. Boom. Pull it. And you kind of hear the. These rusted hinges click as you're gonna have to all pull on this thing. Or, you know, graveling pull on this thing. Someone with a lot of strength pull on this thing. Because it's been used in a while, but it's unlocked. And as you sort of pull it open, you see a darkened passageway in front of you. A darkened, cobweb, full passageway. [00:43:50] Speaker D: Before anybody goes in, I'm going to look to the team, cuz I think. I don't know if we have any. Anybody here can cast message. [00:44:02] Speaker F: I raised my hand like, you can. I can. Nyle. [00:44:06] Speaker D: I was like, it's all of us. Almost all of us. Okay, somebody. Not you. I point to Niall. Just cast a message to Hester and tell her what we found, so maybe she'll come. [00:44:17] Speaker B: Did you mean sending? [00:44:19] Speaker D: No, I mean message. The cantrip. Oh. [00:44:23] Speaker F: It's only 500ft at this level. [00:44:28] Speaker D: Oh, my God, it is for y'. [00:44:30] Speaker A: All. [00:44:30] Speaker F: Huh? [00:44:31] Speaker A: You're the one with the mile. [00:44:33] Speaker D: I'm the one with the mile. [00:44:34] Speaker F: Yeah. [00:44:37] Speaker A: Sending is the one that I can send an animal messenger to her, which may be free. [00:44:45] Speaker D: If you could find an animal. [00:44:48] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:44:50] Speaker G: There are rats. [00:44:54] Speaker C: There are my offer food. [00:44:56] Speaker A: And it just shows up. [00:44:59] Speaker D: Okay, well, yeah, that's part of the spell. [00:45:01] Speaker A: Part of the spell is like, here, here you go then. [00:45:04] Speaker D: Yeah, do the animal. Look, man, I just trying to do my best to not beam Nile's voice directly into his sister's head, okay? Like, that's like. [00:45:15] Speaker F: I don't. [00:45:16] Speaker G: Unless. [00:45:16] Speaker D: Unless you want to do it. Unless you want to do it. Yeah, exactly. [00:45:21] Speaker B: I'm a little bit confused because again, message is a 500 foot radius for us. Non message of the wind, folks. [00:45:28] Speaker D: My bad, my bad. Forgot. I thought it was longer for y'. [00:45:32] Speaker A: All. We have the moths too, generally speaking, but otherwise it's pretty true. But I'll just go open a window, call like a bird or a moth and then send it off. [00:45:43] Speaker C: Yeah, you'll get a corpse moth. [00:45:45] Speaker A: Oh, that's a big one. Me thinking like a little something sparrow. They're like, here's a whole cat sized moth. And I'm like, go forth. I guess. [00:45:54] Speaker B: Don't they only eat corpses? [00:45:56] Speaker C: They eat meat. [00:45:58] Speaker B: Ah, well, they do have to feed it. Lou. [00:46:01] Speaker A: A little bouillon cube. Those are in my pocket. [00:46:09] Speaker D: We pull, pull out a bouillon cube and Niall's impressed. Like, plus one. Like Niall approves on the side. [00:46:19] Speaker C: Remember this later here. [00:46:22] Speaker D: Like, it's positive. It's positive. [00:46:25] Speaker C: It's like little positive sim interaction. [00:46:28] Speaker B: God's dead. [00:46:30] Speaker A: Like the corps moth version of a sugar cube for a horse. It's just a bully on. [00:46:35] Speaker E: It's so unhinged. [00:46:38] Speaker A: I've done weirder things. I pulled my guts out and said, let's climb down the mic rope. [00:46:44] Speaker E: Jesus Christ. [00:46:45] Speaker A: That's true. [00:46:47] Speaker F: So [00:46:49] Speaker C: I guess the big question is, are you going to wait for Hester or are you gonna just go on ahead and hope Hester meets you later? [00:46:57] Speaker E: Should not wait for them. [00:46:58] Speaker A: I don't think we should wait because time is of the essence. Right? [00:47:01] Speaker B: Yeah. So. [00:47:09] Speaker A: I guess the only other question is, like, how certain are we that that this is the right route and not just like, happens to be a secret passage in the library that we found because our rat perception was so good. [00:47:25] Speaker E: I think it's like, it's the only lead we have, so we should pursue it. [00:47:31] Speaker F: I said this out of character in the chat. I do want to point out that we're looking for someone that recently disappeared and our DM is like, hey, here's this secret door that hasn't been right. [00:47:47] Speaker E: The marks are recent. [00:47:48] Speaker C: Well, the marks are recent, yeah. [00:47:50] Speaker A: On the outside. [00:47:52] Speaker C: Marks are recent on the outside. [00:47:54] Speaker F: Just giving you a hard time. [00:47:57] Speaker A: She hadn't seen or they hadn't Seen Blythe leave the library, did they? [00:48:02] Speaker C: No, they would tell you that last time they. Because the students, they live on campus, they quite often will stay in the library after closing to study. Blythe was still here when she left [00:48:18] Speaker A: at. [00:48:18] Speaker C: Around like nine at night. [00:48:22] Speaker A: Big window. [00:48:23] Speaker E: We want to switch the party so people then go there and we could continue to look around the library and then wait for Hester. [00:48:31] Speaker B: I'd say this is almost certainly our best shot. And if she's not in the secret passageway in a room with no other exits, she's probably actually drunk at someone's apartment after a one night stand. [00:48:43] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:48:44] Speaker B: Splitting the party to potentially confront an opposing force is not a good idea. [00:48:50] Speaker C: Hinges weren't rusted shut. They were rusty and it was hard to open. But they were not rusted shut. [00:48:58] Speaker B: Be careful. [00:48:58] Speaker F: Just giving you a hard time in the chat. Don't take it seriously. [00:49:03] Speaker C: We're going. [00:49:04] Speaker E: We're on the way to Verito. We're going to go? [00:49:09] Speaker A: Yeah. I mean, how long of a passage could it possibly be? We get down there, there's nothing there. We turn around, we go back and start over. [00:49:15] Speaker E: You know, he said that about the vampire den. [00:49:18] Speaker G: I was going to say, remember when we got led to the pit? [00:49:21] Speaker A: Okay, listen, that was one time. How many times could that possibly happen? It's okay. I got a collection of silverware in case we need to leave a breadcrumb trail that won't get eaten by little animals coming to follow me, I guess. [00:49:39] Speaker G: Oh, no. [00:49:40] Speaker C: This rust monster is following me and eating all of our silver. [00:49:43] Speaker E: Not again. [00:49:45] Speaker D: Just in case. Just in case. We need a refresher in terms of where Ravenswood is on the map. It's in between Starlight Bastion and Hollow Hunt. This would lead us back to the pit. [00:50:02] Speaker A: We'll just say stop by, have tea with mom, come back out, give her [00:50:07] Speaker E: the good news to send Eater to Mom. [00:50:11] Speaker A: Honestly, Great plan. She'll eat him. [00:50:16] Speaker E: It won't be coming back from that. [00:50:19] Speaker A: She's a giant bird. Still, this is a great solution for him. [00:50:24] Speaker G: He has become the Sin Eater. Eater. [00:50:28] Speaker E: I love Final Fantasy. [00:50:30] Speaker A: Sin Eater eaten. [00:50:32] Speaker E: Where's that metal gear? [00:50:34] Speaker D: Eater of Sin would. Eater of Sin Eater is technically what it is. [00:50:40] Speaker A: There we go. [00:50:42] Speaker E: Sorry, we're in the weeds. Aubrey. [00:50:45] Speaker B: Sorry. [00:50:47] Speaker A: We're going. We've committed to this man. [00:50:49] Speaker B: Propose the Sin Swallower. [00:50:51] Speaker E: No. [00:50:52] Speaker A: No. [00:50:57] Speaker C: Anyone going to cast light or anything as you go into this passage? There are no torches and there is no light coming from this, so this counts as like, dark. [00:51:08] Speaker A: I have most likely the light can trip. Let me double check that I still have. [00:51:14] Speaker C: Some of you have dark vision but also some of you I think only have low light vision. [00:51:18] Speaker B: I think some of us have normal vision. [00:51:20] Speaker A: Don't you have goggles? [00:51:22] Speaker B: I do have the goggles of night vision. [00:51:24] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:51:24] Speaker C: Which lasts for 10 minutes. [00:51:26] Speaker D: Well, how long I was gonna say. So my. My archaic wayfinder can hold a cantrip and it's been a long time since I've used it. In theory we could have just put light in it. [00:51:41] Speaker B: You could. [00:51:43] Speaker F: I think by default. Isn't it? [00:51:47] Speaker D: I am unsure. At least from what I'm looking at here. It doesn't really say you. [00:51:53] Speaker C: You had shield in it last time. [00:51:56] Speaker D: Well I have shield in it because I have a stone that lets me automatically have shield. So. An Aeon stone. Sorry. So but like it the. I have an archaic wayfinder specifically and it can just hold the cantrip. But once I use it it's gone. So in theory we could have filled this thing with light before. I could just only use it once before. I need to store it again. [00:52:20] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:52:22] Speaker A: I have dancing lights and light. One of them I used. One of them I did not use. I think you use dancing lights underwater in the lake. Yes. So I should still have light. [00:52:38] Speaker E: Yeah right. [00:52:41] Speaker A: Unless you have it Aki. In which case that's fine too. I don't know how many of these we need. One in, one out I guess lasts [00:52:47] Speaker C: for like an hour. [00:52:48] Speaker D: I think I was like it might be good to just cast one now and have a spare. I can cast it just because [00:52:57] Speaker A: we [00:52:57] Speaker D: can hold anything in this. [00:52:59] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:52:59] Speaker D: This wayfinder can hold specifically one hand. [00:53:03] Speaker A: Yes. Yeah. [00:53:07] Speaker D: Thank you Darcy. [00:53:08] Speaker A: You get it. [00:53:09] Speaker D: But yeah. Gonna hold out the wayfinder. Have it cast light. [00:53:18] Speaker C: So as you do this and you cast light and you start moving into this tunnel you can kind of clearly see the drag marks as if somebody was dragging a body behind them through the dust. [00:53:39] Speaker B: I am very quickly losing my doubt that this is a red herring. [00:53:48] Speaker C: And the tunnel starts to slope down going underneath the school. And it's all of these very. It's not like when you were underneath like salvation row with the sort of cut out of the rock. These are naturally made, not naturally man made. And you kind of keep going and going and occasionally you'll come to doors that are off to the sides. Most of them are just absolutely coated in rust and are very obvious that they have not been touched in a very long time. Many of the things that you pass almost appear to be cells [00:54:43] Speaker A: defined under a college Library. [00:54:46] Speaker C: Very normal. [00:54:50] Speaker F: Like normal for cells or normal for under a card? College library. [00:54:57] Speaker D: How is the smell? [00:55:00] Speaker C: It's. As you move further and further down, for the most part you just smell the. The dust, the wood and the metal that is rusting and rotting. That kind of wood rotting smell and that sort of the coppery metal smell. And as you get further and further in. Something smells wrong. Nile. [00:55:37] Speaker B: I am going to assume it is related to a dead body. [00:55:42] Speaker C: No. [00:55:43] Speaker E: Oh. [00:55:44] Speaker C: The last time you smelled anything like this was before your village was overrun. It is this acrid, acidic smell that burns your nose and throat as you breathe in. [00:56:01] Speaker B: I know this smell. It's a smell of like, schism. It's a smell like his friends. It is not a good smell. There is something beyond here that is far more dangerous than we participated in before. It is a smelly smell that I have smelled out of the way. [00:56:22] Speaker G: Yes. [00:56:23] Speaker C: Kind of. To everyone else. [00:56:25] Speaker B: Kind of. [00:56:25] Speaker C: If you've ever smelled like the. The weird kind of almost sweet smell of battery acid. [00:56:34] Speaker E: Batteries common in oxide. [00:56:36] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:56:37] Speaker B: Battery acid's not sweet, Aubrey. [00:56:41] Speaker D: No, it's. It's like sweet is the weirdest way to describe it. [00:56:46] Speaker E: But like. [00:56:47] Speaker C: It's battery acid. But it's like corroded. Yeah. It's like sharp. [00:56:50] Speaker D: It's sharp. [00:56:51] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:56:52] Speaker G: Oil. [00:56:56] Speaker D: Never lick a battery before. No, no, you're missing out. [00:57:05] Speaker A: Not. [00:57:05] Speaker E: We at Gobits and gays do not condone licking batteries. [00:57:09] Speaker D: Get some lithium in you. Get some lithium in you. [00:57:12] Speaker E: That's a prescription. And talk about lithium carbonate. [00:57:22] Speaker D: Who the listening to our show isn't depressed. Get some lithium in you. [00:57:28] Speaker A: Talk to your doctor. [00:57:29] Speaker E: There's other alternatives that are newer. [00:57:32] Speaker D: Battery. [00:57:32] Speaker C: Liquid lithium is. [00:57:35] Speaker B: Anyways, before we get to it, Aubrey, [00:57:37] Speaker D: Lithium is an Evanescence song. [00:57:41] Speaker A: It's a good one. That too. [00:57:45] Speaker C: And the smell only gets stronger as you approach. And graveling. I take it you were at the very front. [00:57:54] Speaker D: Yeah. [00:57:56] Speaker C: As you sort of head down these steps into this larger room, your foot hits the floor and you sort of feel this like stepping on slime. [00:58:11] Speaker D: All right, so throwback. Throwback. Remember when we were walking and waiting through and how Grayving wasn't having that same thing like spirited Away when that little fat rat stepped on the thingy to. To mimic Chihiro stepping on the curse and the whole body shiver habit. That's gonna happen to Grave Wing in real time. And then she's gonna get grumpier. [00:58:39] Speaker E: And I. I think as soon as like this is like determined, Yuri's going to say give me a little birth and is Going to have their fire ready on their weapon. [00:58:55] Speaker C: And between this light that you're holding from the Wayfinder and the fire from Yuri's weapon, for a moment you think spider webs. And then you look at it. No, that's slime ooze. Creating this web like texture all over this room. And I'm going to need everybody to roll initiative. [00:59:39] Speaker F: Oh, Snot. [00:59:42] Speaker A: Aubrey, is this when we switch to corrupted for one session? [00:59:46] Speaker D: Surprise. [00:59:47] Speaker E: Jesus Christ. Wait, hang on. I've already had enough trauma and Corrupted. This just X leak. [00:59:57] Speaker D: This is. This is a non sponsored segment. Play the Corrupted, everybody. [01:00:05] Speaker A: We just really love it. [01:00:08] Speaker D: Jackson. Exactly. [01:00:11] Speaker B: I have a joke request. Instead of perception, may I roll crafting? Because I'm going to cook these people into a. [01:00:20] Speaker C: No. [01:00:22] Speaker A: That is a reaction. [01:00:25] Speaker B: Thank you. [01:00:26] Speaker C: It's a funny joke, but no. [01:00:29] Speaker E: I. I Love Spider Man 2 PS5 video game. [01:00:33] Speaker B: Me too. [01:00:36] Speaker C: I really hope no one who's friends with me on PlayStation saw that I was replaying that this week. [01:00:48] Speaker A: Luckily for you, I was too locked into Ghost of Yeti. [01:00:51] Speaker E: So playing Hollow Knight, you know. [01:00:56] Speaker A: Oh God. [01:00:56] Speaker D: What's another. That's another funny reference. [01:01:02] Speaker A: I don't love the star just glowing in the middle of a chasm. [01:01:07] Speaker D: I was gonna say, like we ignore. Can we like. Like I don't want to ignore that. Like maybe that's just like the map being the map. Like Aubrey's. Like we're just. You know, I just needed a map. But like also it's not like covered or hidden or anything, right? Like we all see that it's clearly open. [01:01:23] Speaker A: We can see it. Aubrey, why is there a clothes in the basement? [01:01:30] Speaker D: Is that if we. If we jump into that, are we gonna be unboxed now? Like, is that how this happened? This is. We're gonna be in Cyrene. We're all from Mexico. [01:01:41] Speaker A: I believe Aubrey meant to close the [01:01:43] Speaker B: door and simply forgot to sin is [01:01:46] Speaker E: from Cyrene [01:01:49] Speaker D: is Vlogos the Man. [01:01:51] Speaker A: Vlos the man [01:01:56] Speaker D: I needed. Vlogos the man is my favorite bit that we ever made. Okay. Vlogos the man. Bird watching. And. And then, and then, and then. As of now, Rat maxing. Rat maxing is slowly climbing to like to be my favorite. But it. It's really hard to beat bird watching. [01:02:20] Speaker A: Okay. [01:02:22] Speaker B: Of course you like women. Of course it be hard to be bird watching. [01:02:27] Speaker D: We made so many bird watching shows. [01:02:30] Speaker A: Especially cuz it started so innocently. [01:02:34] Speaker C: Okay, we have all the rolls and Yuri, you're going to be up first. But first what you notice is from the center of this nest, for lack of a better term. This large figure unfurls completely inky black sort of the ooze moving and rearranging. And all you can see is as the Sin Eater looks upon you, face splits in a rictus grin with sharp, sharp teeth. I just see her go. [01:03:20] Speaker E: Then I started blasting. Am I blasting? I'm gonna go up and use my melee part of the all in one, because that's the part that's on fire. And so I will move right there and I will swing the weapon that's on fire at this open maw's face. I would like to use a hero point, please. [01:03:57] Speaker F: Thank you. [01:03:58] Speaker E: Hero point, please. I did so long with my modifier. 32. [01:04:06] Speaker C: 32. As you swing, your flaming weapon sort of separates this. This part of the Sin Eater, but as soon as your weapon goes through it, you kind of watch as it reforms as you've been unable to hurt it. [01:04:32] Speaker E: I think then I would like to use my last action on Study enemy to recall knowledge with monster lore. See if, like, I could figure out what's the best way to approach this from everything that we've seen so far. Okay. Yeah. My lords. I wish you were better lords. 28. [01:05:04] Speaker C: 28. You can ask one question. [01:05:14] Speaker E: What are resistances? [01:05:17] Speaker C: Resistances are specifically, it has a damage resistance to poison and negative damage. [01:05:30] Speaker E: Okay, so stuff we kind of ordered. Okay, so that was a success. So I will explain that and everyone will get a plus one circumstance bonus to hit the target. Hit the target until my next turn. [01:05:47] Speaker C: Yeah. So that at the end of your [01:05:50] Speaker E: turn, that is all three actions. In my turn. [01:05:53] Speaker C: As you enter turn close to this thing, I need you to make a fortitude save. As you can kind of feel something from this creature pulling at you. [01:06:11] Speaker E: 29. [01:06:14] Speaker C: That is going to be a failure. And as you stand there, you can kind of feel lightheaded and you watch as it is draining the blood from you. [01:06:30] Speaker E: Okay. [01:06:30] Speaker C: I consider Aubrey, that's bad for might be. But you become the drained one and sickened one. [01:06:44] Speaker E: Can I. Can I mumble out? Don't get too close yet. Fortitude save is what I did. Trained and sicken. Let's go. Give me all the conditions, Aubrey. I can take it. [01:07:00] Speaker C: And now it is the Sinewor's turn. And it looks down from its spot in the nest on you and you think it laughs. It's hard to tell. And it is going to sort of look over at the rest of your compatriots. Nile, of course I need you to make me a will save [01:07:39] Speaker B: all right, we have the hero points in case of emergency, Correct? [01:07:45] Speaker C: Yes. As it mumbles something in a strange gurgling backwards tongue and casts feeble mind at you. [01:07:58] Speaker B: That is a 33. [01:08:01] Speaker C: That is going to be a failure. [01:08:04] Speaker B: Heavens. Well, that I not be rolling higher than that, dear. [01:08:12] Speaker C: You become stupefied for with an unlimited duration. [01:08:20] Speaker E: What the. [01:08:26] Speaker A: Oh, good heavens. [01:08:32] Speaker G: So if someone dies or gets knocked unconscious, do their conditions go away? [01:08:37] Speaker C: This one specifically says can only be removed through remove curse or other things that affect curses. [01:08:48] Speaker D: Lol RIP [01:08:52] Speaker E: we have Vittorio. [01:08:53] Speaker A: Bye, Niall. [01:08:55] Speaker D: I was gonna say we have Vittorio. And then we also have Judith as well. I was like, damn with some. Not with Victoria's. Not with us either. [01:09:06] Speaker A: Yeah, it's. [01:09:06] Speaker B: It's. [01:09:07] Speaker D: It's we right now. [01:09:09] Speaker B: I would humbly allow a request for me to notify the audience I rolled a 19 on the dice. You cannot blame my luck for this series of events. [01:09:19] Speaker A: You had such a high roll. [01:09:20] Speaker B: Oh, I'm sorry. That it did not critically succeed on the ascent. [01:09:26] Speaker D: You failed by one. You actually needed a nat 20. That's crazy [01:09:33] Speaker A: screwed. [01:09:34] Speaker E: Nah, it's fine. They ate too much sin. They're gonna be over gorged on sin. [01:09:38] Speaker C: And for their last action, they strike out at you, Yuri, with this oozing clawed hand for a 31. [01:09:51] Speaker E: Yeah, that will hit. [01:09:55] Speaker C: And that is going to be 20 piercing damage. Lou. [01:10:02] Speaker A: Yeah? [01:10:03] Speaker C: It is now your turn. [01:10:05] Speaker A: Oh, you said that so scarily. I. I am assuming the answer is no. But if I were to combine cursed lore plus battle medicine, could I help? Nile, I feel like the answer is no, But I gotta ask. [01:10:28] Speaker C: You know, depending on how well you roll, I would probably allow it being a thoul in the church. [01:10:34] Speaker A: I'm gonna give it a shot. I'm gonna give it a shot. Okay. Brand new dice do good things for me. Do you want me to roll curse lore, esoteric lore, or just a straight up medicine check? [01:10:53] Speaker C: Do. Do a curse lore and we'll essentially treat it like you're counteracting the effect. [01:11:01] Speaker A: Okay. Nope. That's a 19 total. [01:11:10] Speaker C: And he has no you. Whatever happened, it's beyond your understanding for the moment. [01:11:18] Speaker A: Okay, cool. Then I am going to exploit vulnerability against the Sin Eater. Oh, okay, you know what? Enough of this. I'm gonna use a hero point. Thank you. So that's going to be a 32. Exploit vulnerability. Does it have a mortal weakness or am I doing a personal antithesis? [01:11:49] Speaker C: It is the fire or vitality? [01:11:55] Speaker A: Fire. Vitality. Everyone, I am going to dunk my bell in a pouch really quick. And it comes out covered in oil, which I'm just gonna strike against my sword and ignite, and I'm going to not my sword against a card, and then I'm gonna flick the card after this guy, and we'll see if that rolls better. Nope. Good Lord. That's gonna be. I assume, given the. The roles this guy's been needing to do, anything that a 22 won't do it? No. Yeah. Okay. [01:12:46] Speaker G: Okay, that's me. [01:12:50] Speaker C: Bye. That'll bring us to lace. [01:12:56] Speaker G: Well, Lathe, with her notoriously good fortitude, is going to dart in past Yuri, attempt a fainting strike at the Sin Eater, and then hopefully slip behind it. Huh? 30. 35. [01:13:20] Speaker C: Against its perception, DC35 will succeed. [01:13:26] Speaker D: Hell yeah. [01:13:27] Speaker G: So I get a free. Oh, woof, woof. I get a free step, and my step is 20ft. Do a big step. Is the. Is the door behind it closed, or can I step you through there? [01:13:48] Speaker C: You can step me through there. [01:13:53] Speaker G: I do a steppy. Okay. So I have moved behind it, struck out in a faint with my whip, and used that distraction to flank it with Yuri sort of stepping past into the next next room, keeping sort of 10ft between us. So move faint. I will attempt to attack with a whip. Attack. [01:14:26] Speaker E: Get plus one. [01:14:27] Speaker G: Oh, that's right. I get your plus one. Which I don't think is gonna help because that's only a 10 on the dice, so that is a 29 to hit. [01:14:39] Speaker C: That is not going to hit. [01:14:42] Speaker F: Sweet. [01:14:44] Speaker G: Does being a little further from it mean I still have to make a stink check or am I safe? [01:14:53] Speaker C: You are safe, because it only is people within melee. [01:14:57] Speaker B: Like Sweet. [01:14:58] Speaker C: Melee. [01:14:58] Speaker A: Melee. [01:14:59] Speaker E: Yeah. [01:15:00] Speaker G: Yeah. Well, the good news is they have a minus two penalty on perception and reflex saves a. [01:15:11] Speaker C: Get those reflex attacks in as you are all sort of moving in, trying to attack. You watch as this. No, I'm going to use this word. Pustule sort of opens and you watch as graveling. There is. There are children of the tyrant tier. You watch as one sort of drops to the floor. [01:15:54] Speaker D: And how many? How many? [01:15:57] Speaker C: This is the first one you see. [01:16:02] Speaker D: Oh, man. [01:16:03] Speaker C: And you watch as it has to. It does not move quickly because it is in ooze. So it has to spend two actions to get to you, Leith. And then it is going to attack you with sort of this tentacle and try to grab onto you. [01:16:25] Speaker G: Ace of your time. [01:16:28] Speaker E: Not again. [01:16:30] Speaker C: I don't think a 24 will beat your reflex. [01:16:32] Speaker G: D.C. a reflex? No. [01:16:36] Speaker C: Yeah, so you're able to quickly dodge out of the way. As it sort of tries to catapult itself at your face. And then that'll bring us to Grapeling. [01:16:49] Speaker A: Cool. [01:16:51] Speaker D: Well one. Just in case nobody else saw. I will point it out by saying there's more of these goo things and feel grossed out about it. [01:17:07] Speaker G: And [01:17:10] Speaker D: I'm not gonna move or anything because 20ft I do. I would be able to hit the Sin Eater. Unfortunately. I hit. I think I. I might hit Yuri too. But I was gonna say it's fire on fire. It's okay. [01:17:24] Speaker A: It's. [01:17:24] Speaker D: It would be. It's not too much damage. [01:17:26] Speaker C: Splash damage for the greater good. [01:17:29] Speaker A: Yeah. [01:17:30] Speaker D: It's. Take one for the team. [01:17:31] Speaker B: Thank you. [01:17:36] Speaker D: That would. That's one action though. Right? To throw it. So. Yeah. I guess that is plus 18 for me to do then. One second. [01:17:45] Speaker A: And. [01:17:46] Speaker D: And I have. I don't have the. The plus one bonus for you from Yuri anymore. [01:17:50] Speaker A: Right? [01:17:51] Speaker E: You do. Because it's till the end of my turn or beginning of my turn. [01:17:56] Speaker D: Oh. 38. [01:17:58] Speaker C: 38 will hit. [01:18:00] Speaker E: Let's go baby. [01:18:01] Speaker D: Be. Then this thing does. Because it's moderate. It will deal two D8 fire damage. Two persistent fire damage and two fire splash damage. [01:18:21] Speaker C: You're. You're going to take two fire splash damage. [01:18:25] Speaker D: How is the thing looking after fire got thrown on it? [01:18:29] Speaker C: Angry. [01:18:32] Speaker F: Good. [01:18:33] Speaker B: Are you sure that this fight is within our capabilities? Everyone? [01:18:41] Speaker D: We can't actually just leave it now. It's going to follow us and kill everyone. [01:18:46] Speaker E: Like literally. [01:18:49] Speaker D: Better to fight it where it's. There's a little bit more space than in the cramped corridor where it's going to go up with us. [01:18:57] Speaker A: Yeah. [01:19:01] Speaker D: Technically I have two actions left. So I guess I will. I'm gonna activate the gate. That's one. One more. And. I think I can make the impulse attack. Is that the. Requires two And I'm very far. I'm just gonna. I'm gonna. [01:19:26] Speaker C: What did you say the damage was? [01:19:30] Speaker D: It's a. Oh God. I didn't roll. My bad. I didn't expect it to roll. It's supposed to be 2D8 fire. [01:19:37] Speaker B: Yeah. [01:19:38] Speaker C: I was like. [01:19:38] Speaker A: I was like. [01:19:39] Speaker D: Wait. [01:19:39] Speaker C: Did I just completely gloss over you saying but. [01:19:42] Speaker G: No. [01:19:42] Speaker D: No. [01:19:42] Speaker A: My bad. [01:19:44] Speaker D: Yes. Thirteen fire damage plus two persistent. Plus two splash. [01:19:55] Speaker B: And. Yeah. [01:19:58] Speaker D: Activate my gate. That should be one action. I have one more action. I'm going to use the Aeon Stone so I can have shield. And I'm gonna choose to remain where I'm at right now because the rest of the Squishies have it moved. Technically I'm a wall for the squishies when the other splooshes come in. So. And that should be my full turn. Sorry that took so long, [01:20:28] Speaker C: cuz this was just your turn recently. Call high or low. Ay, yes. Call high or low. [01:20:37] Speaker D: Hi. Because I roll high and that might make you waste a high roll. [01:20:42] Speaker C: All right, Alistair, it is your turn. Oh no, [01:20:48] Speaker F: I don't wanna. I wanna know what that role is about. Actually, I don't. Never mind. I'm not at all worried about being slightly brainwashed. I do not say out loud because I have no idea. All right, so first thing, my non action. I take a moment to be like, what the fuck is that? As I devise a stratagem. Oh yay. And as part of the devise a stratagem, I will go ahead and make a recall knowledge. Now to snotty to be an eldest too living to be an undead. Is that an occultism check? [01:21:39] Speaker C: Yeah, I would say occultism. [01:21:42] Speaker F: I need to take a lore slime monsters for my next level up. Maybe I'll talk with schism a little bit. All right, so here is my occultism check. That is a 31. [01:22:00] Speaker C: I think you can ask one question. [01:22:03] Speaker F: Yep. What is our lowest save? [01:22:09] Speaker C: Our lowest save is fortitude. [01:22:15] Speaker F: Fortitude. Very nice. And that's will saves. That is a funny thought. So I will knock one of my claw arrows to hit and that will do. So that's 36 for 21 piercing damage and an additional. Oh, it's because you have to choose between piercing and slashing. That's why. Oh, wow. That's a. Oh, that's only two sixes. Still an additional 25 piercing damage and six persistent bleed. I think the arcane shot is a three action activity. So that is my turn. [01:23:26] Speaker C: Niall, it is now your turn. [01:23:30] Speaker B: I am in a bit of a predicament with my spells currently, as you all may know. Do you believe that sending or haste or anyone wants some sort of improvement on your ability to attack multiple times? Any conflict, confidence of being able to attack or an attempt at boosting any of you. [01:23:49] Speaker E: I mean that my money would go on grave week because already like with the attack of opportunity, engraving consistently. Sorry, Aki consistently has really high rolls. I'm not cheating. [01:24:04] Speaker D: No rules today, y'. All. [01:24:06] Speaker E: If you got. If you give Aki haze, I think that is a plus. [01:24:11] Speaker G: Although Yuri has fire, which we know is its weakness. [01:24:16] Speaker E: Yeah, yeah, but it's me. [01:24:18] Speaker B: Can I roll to see if I'm even able to cast a spell before I decide my. [01:24:22] Speaker C: Yes, it is a flat Check if you are going to attempt to cast the spell. [01:24:30] Speaker B: I will attempt to cast. [01:24:31] Speaker C: It's a DC9 flat. Check. [01:24:34] Speaker B: We'll see. See if I'm able to even cast haste. [01:24:39] Speaker C: And you are. [01:24:41] Speaker B: Fantastic. Now you may fight for who gets haste. Now that I've confirmed that I could actually cast it. [01:24:50] Speaker E: Let's see. [01:24:55] Speaker B: I am favoring graveling simply because of personal and character bias and being under [01:25:01] Speaker E: stupefied, I'm drained and sickened. So, like, I have. I have status effects on me. Also, I think in character, you'd probably go for giving it to grieving. [01:25:14] Speaker B: Anyways, now it looks. [01:25:18] Speaker D: And I was gonna say the only thing I'm worried about is more slug babies coming in. [01:25:24] Speaker B: That's it. [01:25:25] Speaker D: Because I. I'm trying to protect the squishies. Yeah, but the minute I can. Yeah, the minute I can get into this singular, I'll wail so. [01:25:35] Speaker E: Well, you having more actions also means you could also fight more of the goops. [01:25:42] Speaker B: Truly, all of my spells are significantly nerfed. I believe the best use of them is boosting someone else who is not as severely incapacitated. So graveling, I will grant you haste, which is two of my actions. And the third, I actually am unsure if I'll be able to get. This is quite an interesting question, Aubrey, and an unintended use of a mechanic, but I'd like to ask. I do have a alcoholic mixture that is supposed to be used for healing, but isn't alcohol also flammable? [01:26:18] Speaker C: Yes, alcohol is flammable. But what is the question? [01:26:25] Speaker B: If I give it to someone to, say, hit on this guy's head before a fire attack, would it give any extra damage as a flaming substance? [01:26:35] Speaker C: What is the healing thing? [01:26:38] Speaker B: It is supposed to be. Hold one moment, please. Where is it? It is a fermenting liquors. You always have a special batch of preservation preserve liquor ready for each day you serve your liquor to a willing adjacent creature, the creature recovers hit points at equal to twice your level. Additionally, for one hour, all diplomacy checks to influence the creature gain a bonus. I'm suggesting it. [01:27:00] Speaker C: It's from the flask, right? [01:27:02] Speaker B: It's from a flask. Yes. It's something I have on me mechanically. And it's supposed to heal is the typical thing. But I'm grasping for straws. [01:27:13] Speaker C: It would not because it is supposed to be for healing and it is a magical thing. So if you would pour it on him, it would heal him. [01:27:21] Speaker B: Unfortunately, cannot set him on fire. [01:27:23] Speaker E: Well, you just have like some cooking wine or something. [01:27:27] Speaker B: I Do not mechanically have normal wine on me. It is not an oftenly carried item. I don't prepare to douse people all the time, and a lot of my items are healing or boosting in terms of beverages. But let me check something for my spells. I do. I'd suppose it's not the best option, but I have one action. I could try to cast Concord, inquire for a little bit of extra damage. [01:27:59] Speaker D: You could also try shielding yourself. [01:28:02] Speaker B: That is true. I am not notably out of the way in terms of damage, so I'm not too sure if that would. [01:28:11] Speaker G: There are pustules of tyrant babies crying from the ceiling. [01:28:16] Speaker D: You are at the bottom also of the Initiative order. [01:28:20] Speaker B: All right, I'll give SHIELD a try. Or I will attempt to give SHIELD a try. Perhaps the dice will be kind to me twice in a row. Never mind. I do not get to cast shield. But that is all right. I've done what I needed to do for my turn. [01:28:41] Speaker C: I. And Tick, I ask you, high or low? [01:28:50] Speaker B: Just like my sanity is. I'd say low. [01:28:53] Speaker C: You all want as two more pustules open. [01:29:04] Speaker B: I said not to open your mouth, Aubrey. And here we are. [01:29:07] Speaker D: I know. [01:29:07] Speaker G: If you picked a low number of pustules instead of a high number of pustules. That was good. [01:29:12] Speaker E: Yeah. [01:29:14] Speaker D: Now we know. Now we know. [01:29:17] Speaker B: I say this again in a joking manner. I know it can be a bit. But anyways, I have rolled my turn, and I have made more enemies than I have defeated. Back to you [01:29:30] Speaker C: as we come to the end of this first round. You all hear the footsteps of someone running from behind you as Hester joins the Initiative. [01:29:44] Speaker A: Just. Just Esther for the time being. Okay, we'll take it. [01:29:52] Speaker B: Is the disguise still active? [01:29:55] Speaker A: Probably not, no. How long has it been since we left the tavern, Aubrey? Has it been like. [01:30:02] Speaker C: It's been over an hour? [01:30:03] Speaker A: Yeah, yeah. They're gone. Everybody's. This is just a group of strangers. And Gravewing. [01:30:09] Speaker B: This is just a group of strangers. Grave wing and a desk. [01:30:14] Speaker E: Okay. [01:30:16] Speaker B: I don't like being the first person seen right now dying of a headache. [01:30:20] Speaker G: It's something. You put up your shield. [01:30:23] Speaker A: No, I failed to put up my shield. [01:30:27] Speaker C: It's. Say hi to Nile's sister as that comes. That'll bring us to the top of round two, and we'll get into that next episode. [01:30:38] Speaker A: Oh, right. [01:30:43] Speaker B: Well, if I may, is it too [01:30:46] Speaker A: late to call Mimi? This is like a normal hour for her, right? You think she's busy? [01:30:58] Speaker G: She's not in a different discord call, so maybe she's free. [01:31:04] Speaker C: Amimi, how fast can you level Judith up to level nine? [01:31:07] Speaker A: You know she could do it fast. [01:31:09] Speaker B: You know she could have a 15 minute break. You could argue. But with that in mind, I thank everyone for listening to another wonderful episode. You can find us on our various social medias, on Instagram, Patreon. We have all sorts of a wonderful assortment. And instead of a funny quip, we have a casting call for any clerics that would like to join within the next 15 to 20 minutes of this game. Anyone and everyone who is above level three is welcome. As long as you can cast a healing spell and not die instantly. Applications will close in 25 minutes because that is when we are going to be getting our asses kicked again. I eagerly await your responses. And I will be hungry. [01:31:47] Speaker A: Hold my hand Let me stay by your side through this never ending night I can feel it now it holds me all these demons hurt that [01:32:03] Speaker B: in [01:32:04] Speaker A: this red light because me he is reaching out Consuming. It is a dark dream. [01:32:57] Speaker B: Sa. [01:33:17] Speaker A: There's my. [01:33:43] Speaker E: Sa.
